00:00Good morning, welcome to your national morning weather update from the Met Office. It's another
00:04case of sunny spells but some heavy showers. These are going to be focused more across
00:09Scotland. We've got this area of low pressure driving the showers and bringing in a north
00:15westerly wind as well, so a chilly feel. You'll notice some frontal systems as well and this
00:20will give a focus for some rain. So through this morning, this is one of those bands of
00:25rain across Northern Ireland into Scotland, so some heavy rain across rush hour. But that
00:30will gradually sink its way southwards, start breaking up to leave sunny spells and showers
00:35across Northern England. A bright but chilly start across the south, once again cloud will
00:41start bubbling up, we'll start to see a few showers breaking out, but on the whole a largely
00:45dry day for most of us. And then the focus for the showers are going to be across parts
00:50of Scotland through today. Heavy at times, containing the odd rumble of thunder, perhaps
00:55some hail and perhaps even wintry over the highest ground, but turning drier across Northern
01:00Ireland and some parts of Northern England. But it is going to be a breezy day out there
01:05and that will have an impact on the temperatures once again. So with the brisk winds coming
01:09in from the north and northwest, it is going to give a cool feel across parts of Scotland
01:14but breezy elsewhere too, with temperatures struggling maybe up to 17, 18, possibly 19
01:20or 20 in the best of the sunshine, but also in any sheltered spots. So as we go through
01:26Friday afternoon, any showers gradually easing through the evening across England and Wales.
01:32Then we've still got a focus for showers across parts of Scotland into Northern Ireland and
01:37then later into parts of Northern Wales and into the north and northern parts of England
01:42as well. There will still be some clear spells in between and in any clear spells it will
01:47turn chilly with lows dropping in rural spots to the single figures. Otherwise, towns and
01:52cities holding up at around 10 or 11 degrees, but chilly underneath the clearest skies.
01:59So to start Saturday morning, then we're going to see a bit of a mix. We'll see some cloud
02:03across parts of southern England and into Wales. That will gradually sink its way southwards,
02:08turning drier behind that across Wales, the Midlands, East Anglia and later on into southern
02:13parts of England to leave plenty of sunshine to end Saturday. Still some showers, especially
02:19across parts of Scotland, even more so into eastern areas, but we'll have a brisk wind
02:25across that eastern coast as well. So once again, a cool feeling day, especially for
02:31the time of year. Further south, we may see temperatures again reach 19, possibly 20 degrees
02:37with more sunny, sunny breaks developing into the afternoon. But if you want more details
