00:00Good morning, welcome to your national morning weather update from the Met Office.
00:04We've got a change in store with outbreaks of heavy rain across western
00:08parts, still rather dry in the east, but that high pressure that we've held on to
00:12is moving its way eastwards, allowing a low pressure to move in from the west,
00:17bringing longer spells of rain. But back to this morning, we'll see some showers
00:21affecting eastern parts of Scotland, they could still be on the heavy side, moving
00:25their way northwards, further towards the east, low cloud breaking up to give a
00:30good deal of sunshine. But this is this area of low pressure bringing heavy
00:35outbreaks of rain, especially across southwestern England, into Wales later
00:40and into Northern Ireland. And here we do have yellow Met Office rain
00:45warnings in force, so there could be some difficult driving conditions,
00:49some spray on the roads and some surface water flooding too. But in the sunshine
00:54it will still feel pleasantly warm, perhaps not as warm as what we saw over
00:58the weekend, maybe highs of 20 up to 24 degrees. But a different feeling day
01:04across western parts, underneath all this cloud and rain, temperatures
01:09struggling here at around 15 or 16 degrees, so a very different feel with
01:14some brisk winds as well coming up from the south. And into this evening, that
01:20cloud and rain is going to be moving its way slowly north and eastwards, so
01:24could give some difficult driving conditions across the Midlands and the
01:27southeast as well during rush hour, and again just slowly moving its way
01:32north-eastwards with showers coming in to the southwest, mixed with some clear
01:37spells in between. But there is a lot of cloud around and that means temperatures
01:42aren't going to be falling overnight with lows generally around 12 or
01:46even up to 14 degrees. So it's going to be a mild start for many of us on Tuesday, a
01:53bit of a reverse in where the wet weather is, so across Northern Ireland
01:57now and Northern England and even into eastern parts of England as it gradually
02:02pushes its way northwards to affect parts of Scotland, generally breaking up
02:05as it does so. Behind that though, there will be some drier conditions but there
02:10will also be some frequent showers coming in up from the south and west,
02:14and some of these still could be on the heavy side, perhaps with the odd rumble
02:18of thunder, but many places still seeing some sunny spells. And it is still going
02:23to be warm where you do see the sunny spells, obviously feeling a little bit
02:27cooler underneath the cloud and rain, but highs up to maybe 18 or 20 degrees. As we
02:33go through the rest of the week, it does look like a case of sunny spells and
02:37scattered showers, temperatures still feeling warm in the sunshine, but if you
02:41want further details on that, be sure to hit subscribe on YouTube so you don't
02:45miss a forecast. I'll catch you soon, bye bye.
