00:00Hello, welcome to our National Afternoon Weather Update from the Met Office. It's going to
00:04be another very warm day out there, but we're also going to see some heavy showers developing.
00:09We have got some weather warnings in force. Yellow thunderstorms warnings across Northern
00:14Ireland, parts of Scotland and also Wales and England. Some of these thunderstorms could
00:19contain hail, thunder and lightning, turning to longer spells of rain across Northern Ireland
00:24and Scotland. But we do hold on to a lot of fine weather, especially across the south
00:30and east, with a lot of sunshine around. Temperatures are rising once again. We could see highs
00:35of 27, possibly 28 degrees. Heavy showers are continuing, especially across parts of
00:42Wales, Midlands, focusing further northwards as we go into this evening and overnight,
00:48pushing their way into parts of Scotland as well. Elsewhere, we do see skies turning
00:54drier. We'll see clearer spells, especially across eastern parts, but quite a bit of low
00:59cloud coming into the west ahead of this next low pressure system. But it is going to be
01:04another rather mild night once again, with lows of generally around 11 or 12 degrees.
01:11So showers, outbreaks of rain across Scotland generally moving their way northwards. Then
01:16it's a bit of an east west split in the weather on Monday. Low cloud breaking up to give plenty
01:22of fine weather once again across eastern parts. Some showers across Scotland, but low
01:27pressure becoming in charge as we go through the rest of Monday across western parts. We
01:32have got yellow warnings in force once again. These are rain warnings, so expect some heavy
01:37and persistent rain at times, leading to difficult driving conditions with spray on the road
01:42and some blustery winds as well, affecting Northern Ireland, South West England and also
01:48South Western Wales. But as for temperatures, actually, it's going to be feeling quite a
01:53lot cooler than what we've had in recent days, still feeling warm in the sunshine, especially
01:57across eastern parts. But underneath all this cloud and rain, it is going to be feeling
02:01quite different, with highs struggling here at around 15 or 16 degrees. Into the rest
02:09of Monday afternoon, then, could give some difficult driving conditions for rush hour,
02:13especially across Northern Ireland and parts of the South West as this band of rain slowly
02:17moves its way north and eastwards. Clearer skies across eastern parts, still quite a
02:24bit of cloud around, but hopefully staying largely dry the further east you go. So it
02:30is turning unsettled. A change is in store. Make sure you stay tuned to the latest on
02:35our YouTube channel and hit subscribe so you don't miss a forecast. I'll catch you
02:38soon. Bye bye.
