00:00Hello and welcome to your evening
00:01weather forecast from the Met Office.
00:03It's been a North South split in the weather today.
00:06Brighter skies further South,
00:07but cloudier further North,
00:09and that's going to continue
00:10push its way southwards.
00:11That's related to this weather front
00:12that's going to continue to push
00:13southwards into tomorrow,
00:15but brisk winds,
00:16especially across eastern areas.
00:18However, we have got higher pressure
00:19building from the West for the weekend,
00:23but back to tonight and outbreaks
00:25of rain and cloud are continuing
00:27to push their way southward.
00:29Across Midlands, East Anglia,
00:31and then the South East of England,
00:33turning a lot damper than
00:34what we've seen today.
00:35But blustery showers feeding
00:37into Scotland with some clear spells here.
00:40But notice the winds as well
00:42picking up across eastern areas,
00:43especially across Shetland
00:45with coastal gales here.
00:47But it is going to be
00:48a much milder night tonight
00:50with temperatures ranging
00:51from around 8 or even
00:53possibly up to 9 degrees.
00:55So really different
00:56to what we saw last night.
00:59And then through the start
01:00of Friday morning,
01:01a milder start,
01:03but often quite cloudy.
01:05Outbreaks of rain continuing
01:06to push southwards across
01:08much of England and Wales.
01:09Brighter skies developing
01:10and across Scotland
01:11actually turning much drier
01:13here with plenty of sunshine.
01:15But outbreaks of rain developing,
01:17especially across northern
01:18England and eastern areas.
01:20Best of the sunshine really
01:21holding on in the West,
01:23but you'll notice still holding
01:24on to that brisk northerly winds.
01:27So in eastern areas
01:28it is going to be feeling quite bitter,
01:30especially when you're
01:30exposed to that wind.
01:32But lighter winds further
01:33towards the West
01:35with highs of up to 12
01:36or even 14 degrees here.
01:39For the rest of Friday evening,
01:41then those showers
01:42are going to be continuing
01:43to push their way southwards.
01:44But as they do,
01:45they'll start fading away.
01:47And then that leaves
01:47a plenty of clear skies
01:49for most of us.
01:50A dry picture.
01:51Still a few showers
01:52may just brush East Anglia
01:54and holding on to still
01:55quite a strong wind here.
01:57Elsewhere, though, light winds
01:58and that will allow conditions
02:00to temperatures to drop overnight.
02:02So a colder night to come
02:05or once again,
02:06and maybe even waking up
02:07to a little bit of frost.
02:10But this does also mean
02:11after a chilly start,
02:12there will be plenty of sunshine
02:14on offer first thing
02:15across much of England and Wales.
02:17But Scotland holding on
02:19to quite a lot of cloud
02:20and we'll see more patchy rain
02:22moving in from the West
02:24but elsewhere
02:25turning a little bit cloudier
02:27with perhaps the best
02:28of the brightness
02:28of focus across Western areas.
02:31Otherwise, temperatures,
02:32while it's going to be
02:33quite disappointing,
02:34still underneath
02:35that cloud and rain.
02:36Elsewhere, temperatures
02:37really around average,
02:38but the winds are going to be
02:40that slightly lighter feel,
02:42especially for the afternoon.
02:45And then as we go into the weekend,
02:48we've got high pressure
02:49still dominating.
02:50But if you want more details on that,
02:52stay tuned to YouTube
02:53as there's a weekend
02:54forecast ahead for you.
02:55See you soon. Bye bye.
