00:00Hello. Plenty of warm sunshine out there today, turning hot and humid tomorrow with the risk
00:06of thunderstorms, especially in the northwest. Looking at the bigger picture, we've got an
00:10area of higher pressure across the UK, a deep area of low pressure towards the west, and
00:15this is helping drive south and southeasterly winds, drawing up some hotter air from the
00:20south. But we do have frontal systems moving in, and this will carry the risk of some thunderstorms
00:25through Sunday night and into Monday, especially across the northwest. But back to the rest
00:32of today, many places seeing plenty of sunshine. It's been a slow start in the south, but the
00:37cloud should gradually lift and break, maybe just seeing a legacy of some cloud across
00:42parts of the Midlands and across the south as well. We may just see some coastal fog
00:47lingering here. But elsewhere, many places are staying dry with some warm sunshine. In
00:53the north, highs of up to 22 degrees across parts of Scotland. But further south, feeling
00:58hotter and more humid with highs up to 29 degrees. Now, as we go through Sunday afternoon
01:05and evening time, many places seeing some late evening sunshine. A breeze is going to
01:09be picking up, especially across the southwest and into parts of the Irish Sea. And then
01:14we'll start to see thunderstorms breaking out, moving their way north and eastward.
01:19So at first we could see some in the west, but the greatest risk is going to be across
01:24Northern Ireland and then later into northeastern England and across Scotland. So we do have
01:30some Met Office weather warnings in force for those. So expect some frequent lightning,
01:35some gusty winds and some torrential downpours as well. As well as that, it is going to be
01:40an uncomfortable night for sleeping. Temperatures are possibly not even dropping below 20 degrees.
01:46So a warm and muggy night to come. Now, through Monday morning, we've got this band of thundery
01:53showery rain moving its way north and eastwards during rush hour across parts of western Scotland.
01:59Thunderstorms ahead of that as well. So some disruption is possible from this frequent
02:03lightning hail as well as some strong gusty winds and some torrential downpours. That
02:09then clears its way north and eastward, so turning brighter across parts of Scotland
02:13into the late afternoon and dry across Northern Ireland as well. Elsewhere, many places are
02:19seeing a good deal of sunshine, but the odd isolated thunderstorm can't be ruled out,
02:24especially across parts of the south and east of England. It's also going to be quite breezy
02:30across the north, but turning fresher here once that rain has cleared through. But further
02:34towards the south, a very hot and humid feel to the day with highs up to possibly 34 degrees.
02:43So take care if you are out and about through tomorrow, feeling a little bit cooler the
02:47further west that you go. So as we go through Monday evening, that rain continues to clear
02:54its way northwards, many places seeing a dry end to the day. We may just see a few showers
03:00skirting the southeast, but again, still quite a warm night to come. As we go through Tuesday,
03:06still holding on to some heat in the southeast, but then turning more changeable with outbreaks
03:10of rain and temperatures returning to average. I'll see you soon. Bye bye for now.
