00:00Good morning, it's a much brighter picture out there for many of us then
00:03sunshine and showers but it is cloudy across Scotland this morning so a gloomy
00:09start here with outbreaks of rain that will gradually move its way northwards
00:13and start easing. Towards the northwest we're already seeing some heavy spells
00:18of showers but towards England and Wales sunny spells, scattered showers
00:23developing. Some of these showers could be on the heavy side perhaps even with
00:28the odd rumble of thunder too and we'll start to see showers merging to give
00:32longer spells of rain towards the southwest later. But where you do miss
00:37one of those showers and in the sunshine it should be feeling pleasant in the
00:41south with highs up to 17 or 18 degrees but under any persistent rain towards
00:46Orkney and Shetland feeling cooler here with a bit more of an easterly breeze. So
00:52through Monday evening some early evening sunshine but towards the far
00:55southwest we have outbreaks of heavy rain moving their way northwards so it
01:00could give some disruption during rush hour that will gradually push into
01:04Northern Ireland and northwestern parts of England to start Tuesday morning.
01:09There'll be some clear spells in between perhaps allowing for some mist and fog
01:14patches to develop but towards the southwest we're already seeing a further
01:19spell of showers moving through. But it'll be a largely mild night to come
01:25generally 11 or 12 degrees towards the south perhaps just a little bit colder
01:30towards the far north. So it's going to be quite a messy picture out there
01:34through Tuesday morning we've got a band of rain continuing across Northern
01:38Ireland, northwestern England pushing into Scotland towards the far south and
01:42west of England. Sunny spells but frequent scattered showers moving
01:48through again some of these it could be on the heavy side perhaps with the odd
01:52rumble of thunder as well and it is going to be quite breezy towards the
01:56south and also towards the far north of Scotland. Here it will also be feeling
02:02quite chilly but in the sunshine and where you dodge the showers hopefully
02:06towards the far south and east we'll see highs up to 17 possibly even 18 degrees.
02:13So there's still an unsettled picture to come but for more details on the
02:18forecast make sure to hit subscribe so you don't miss an update and I'll catch
02:22you soon, bye bye.
