6 July - National weather forecast presented by Kathryn Chalk.
Transcript
00:00Hello, well many of us saw showers or longer spells of rain today and we'll see focus for
00:05some showers again on Sunday. But back to this evening, we'll see showers fading across
00:10parts of England, turning drier with some late evening sunshine. Still some showers
00:15across Northern Ireland, parts of Scotland, but more so into western areas. We get a rash
00:21of showers coming in from the south and west. Some of these are going to be actually quite
00:26heavy at times as we start Sunday morning and into northwestern England as well. Still
00:31the risk of some heavy, thundery showers here. But there will be some brighter weather to
00:36start the day on Sunday morning. It will feel quite fresh, especially across parts of Scotland
00:42where we could dip into the mid-single figures. Otherwise, towns and cities generally around
00:4710 to 12 degrees. So like I said, some showers coming in from the west, moving their way
00:53eastwards. Thundery at times, especially across northwestern England and in towards
00:58the southwest. But showers then breaking out more widely as we go into the afternoon. Again,
01:04thundery, possibly with hail and some lightning mixed in, especially across the southern parts
01:09of Scotland and into the Midlands and eastern parts of Wales as well. But we have got some
01:15sunshine in between the showers and where you dodge one of those showers, it could be
01:19quite pleasant in the sunshine underneath the lighter winds. Highs of possibly 18, possibly
01:2419 degrees is still below average for where we should be at this time in July, but feeling
01:30a little bit warmer across parts of Scotland. Aberdeenshire now reaching up to possibly
01:3514 or 15 degrees through Sunday. Now, as we go through Sunday evening, most of them showers
01:43will clear out towards the east and start fading. Then we'll see cloud melting away
01:48to leave actually a good deal of lengthy clear skies, but also some mist and fog patches
01:54may develop underneath the lighter winds. And then further south, we've got cloudier
01:59conditions as another area of low pressure will soon come in through Monday. But before
02:06that, temperatures actually feeling quite chilly to start on Monday. We could see rural
02:11spots dip into the low single figures widely across the country, but staying a little bit
02:16milder further towards the south underneath all this cloud and rain. So to start Monday
02:23morning, actually many places waking up to a fresh start, but also a bright and dry start
02:29as we go through the day, they will start to see some showers breaking out more so across
02:33northern parts of England and into Scotland where they could be thundery. But further
02:38towards the south is going to be turning increasingly cloudy and across these southern counties.
02:44That's where we'll start to see some outbreaks of rain pushing through and also some stronger
02:48winds as well. But there is a slither of drier weather across parts of Wales and into England.
02:55And that's where we'll see temperatures rise, possibly 19, 20, possibly 21 degrees, so feeling
03:01a little bit more pleasant in that sunshine too. Now, as we go through Monday and into
03:07Tuesday, this is that area of low pressure. There's still some uncertainties on the exact
03:13track of this low pressure system as it moves its way gradually northwards through Wednesday
03:18as well. So bringing a focus for some rain or showers at times. But if you want all of
03:25the latest details on that, make sure to hit subscribe on YouTube so you don't miss a forecast.
03:30And I'll catch you soon. Bye bye.
