00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your afternoon forecast from the Met Office, where we're going to
00:05start with the pressure pattern. And just like recent weeks, low pressure dominates
00:10the weather pattern. Further systems moving in from the Atlantic, but we do need to keep
00:14an eye on the second half of the week as some areas of low pressure could be deeper and
00:20therefore bringing more widespread rain across the country, but also some stronger winds
00:24too. So, do stay tuned to the forecast and the week ahead forecast will be out later
00:29as well. So, looking at the details for the afternoon,
00:33sunny spells and showers across the bottom third of the UK. Some of these showers will
00:38be heavy with some hail and thunder. So, if you are travelling, do take care, but in between
00:42there will be some warm spells of sunshine. So, those who avoid the showers, it will be
00:47quite a nice afternoon here in contrast to parts of Northern Ireland, North Wales, Northern
00:52England, Southern Scotland, where we have cloud and rain and quite a key north easterly
00:57breeze in the east there, keeping it quite cool.
01:00Drier across much of Scotland, particularly across the north west, some sunny spells across
01:04the north west here. So, not feeling too bad here too in the sunshine temperatures in double
01:10figures, but just see there 8 to 9 under the cloud and rain. 13 to 14 generally, but just
01:16like the last few days, anywhere that does stay dry towards the south, we could see highs
01:20around 16 or 17 Celsius once more. Into the evening time, showers, they continue
01:26for a time, but they do start to ease across central areas. Further rain across the north,
01:31again, some heavier bursts possible across eastern Scotland, a little bit of snow over
01:36the Scottish mountains too. Further showers through towards southern parts of England
01:41and Wales, one or two of these heavy. If we do get any clearer spells, particularly across
01:45this central swathe of the UK, temperatures will dip to low single figures, perhaps some
01:50mist and fog patches, an isolated pocket of frost or two, but for most, generally 5
01:56to 7 Celsius to take us into Tuesday morning. A cloudy damp start, particularly across eastern
02:02Scotland once more. Some brighter spells across northern Scotland, perhaps later the west
02:06as well, but generally staying cloudy here. Elsewhere, yes, there will be a lot of cloud
02:11around, but there will be some brighter sunny spells that do develop. A few showers, maybe
02:16not quite as heavy compared to today. And then later on, the next weather system starts
02:21to bring cloud and rain across the far southwest, some stronger winds developing here too. And
02:26in terms of temperatures, well, again, up to around the mid-teens, 15, 16 Celsius in
02:31the sunniest spells. A little chillier further north, 11, 12, 13 Celsius, but feeling a little
02:36warmer compared to Monday. There's still quite chilly air across northern Scotland. Into
02:42the evening time, this weather system just pushes a little bit further north and eastwards,
02:46bringing spells of rain, some of this turning heavy at times. The weather system across
02:50Scotland continues to just slowly edge its way northwards, but starting to ease a little
02:55bit in between some clear spells. And that sets us up for the rest of the week, further
03:01low pressure systems moving in from the Atlantic. If you'd like more information on the weather
03:06where you are for the next few days, you can follow us on our social media channels. See
03:10you again later.
