00:00Hi there. A drier day for some, another wet day for many others with various bands of
00:07rain and showers continuing to affect the U.K. We've got an area of low pressure currently
00:11centered across southwestern parts. But it's this occluded front that's going to emerge
00:16from the continent and bring a large area of persistent wet weather through the afternoon.
00:22So that initially affects central southern England into the southeast London and parts
00:27of the Midlands. You can also follow it up towards Northern Ireland where showers will
00:31increasingly turn to longer spells of wet weather through the afternoon. A few showers
00:36for parts of Wales and the southwest. Also some showers affecting the north of Scotland
00:40with these falling as snow over the hills. But actually some brighter interludes in between
00:45the showers here. And certainly some drier weather to be had across northern and eastern
00:50England and towards the southwest as the showers fade away. But it's going to feel on the cold
00:55side. Particularly where we've got the persistent rain developing and more especially Scotland
00:59and northern England where temperatures will languish at around 6 to 7 Celsius. With that
01:05cold air in place we're going to see the rain edge north through the evening. That's going
01:10to bring some heavier wet weather across eastern parts of Northern Ireland with the yellow
01:14rain warning risk for some higher parts of eastern Northern Ireland of 50mm through the
01:20night. Could cause some issues. But further north, well it's going to be snow over upland
01:24Scotland. Could see some snow falling down to 200m or so for southern and central Scotland.
01:31Some slushy accumulations over grassy surfaces. But the main accumulations on roads will be
01:36above 300m, a centimetre or two through the night. Rain at lower levels. And then further
01:41south it dries up overnight across central and southern parts. But only ahead of this
01:47next very active weather system that pushes in by dawn. So a mixed bag as far as the weather
01:53is concerned and certainly as far as the temperatures are concerned overnight 6 to 8 Celsius in
01:57the south with a gusty wind first thing. Further north temperatures close to freezing particularly
02:02over higher parts of Scotland where that snow will be falling. As we begin Wednesday we're
02:07going to see spells of rain and showers affecting Northern Ireland, Wales, the south with some
02:12gusty winds accompanying that rain. Further rain and hill snow for Scotland although that
02:16tends to ease through the day and the snow becomes confined to the highest peaks. But
02:21it is going to be a soggy day for northern Scotland certainly with a strong wind blowing.
02:26The rain further south gets replaced by blustery showers into the afternoon. These showers
02:30will be lively. They're going to be falling out of cumulonimbus clouds with some hail.
02:34It could cause issues that hail actually across some central parts and also some rumbles of
02:39thunder. Gusty winds but interspersed by brighter spells. So some lively looking showers but
02:46also some beautiful skies to be had. 11 to 12 Celsius in the south and 8 to 10 further
02:53north. So not quite as cold but still not feeling very pleasant I suspect in the gusty
02:58wind. We've got the rain to linger there across the north of Scotland on Wednesday night.
03:04Showers elsewhere quite widely across the UK although easing from eastern parts and
03:09eventually northern parts with some clear spells before the next area of rain starts
03:14to come onto the scene overnight in the south. So plenty more rain or showers to talk about
03:19over the next few days. We'll keep you posted on all the latest updates on our YouTube channel.
