00:00Hello, a messy picture this weekend but the main theme is cold and for quite a
00:05few of us it'll actually turn colder still, particularly so by tomorrow. Today
00:09we've got a band of thicker cloud with some rain just trickling south into
00:13parts of Northern Ireland, North West England, a few spots of drizzle possible
00:17the north coast of Wales. Showers into northern Scotland then we've got a
00:21clearer zone through the central belt of Scotland and a drier zone across the far
00:25south. Quite a lot of cloud here but some breaks in the cloud may allow a
00:29glimmer or two of sunshine to come through and brightening up in southern
00:33parts of Scotland as well. So as I said it's a bit of a messy situation but for
00:37most places it will stay dry today and for most of us it's still pretty cold.
00:42Feeling particularly cold I suspect in the south just three or four Celsius
00:46here. Now it's going to turn colder through the evening across northern
00:51Scotland so the showers here during today will be of rain but increasingly
00:55overnight they may start to turn more wintry down to lower level sleet and
00:59then some snow likely by the morning time. Any showers falling here with
01:04temperatures close to or below freezing means it could also be icy. Further south
01:08will be a few rain showers across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and
01:12where we've got clearer skies we could again see some pockets of frost but for
01:16most I suspect that cloud will just keep temperatures up a little bit. So
01:20generally we start close to freezing on Sunday but not particularly far below
01:26as I said some frost possible in the southwest and maybe also across parts of
01:29northern Scotland. Now with those temperatures close to freezing here as
01:32I said there is the potential for ice and increasingly we'll start to see some
01:36snow showers coming in because the air is just getting colder. The high
01:39pressure that we've seen is being pushed away. A couple of weather fronts sinking
01:43southwards through the weekend introducing colder air following the
01:47isobars going all the way up to the Arctic. So it is going to be cold air
01:51drifting southwards. Those isobars getting closer as well so those winds
01:54will be picking up significant wind chill in northern Scotland as well as
01:58these snow showers coming in. A Met Office ice and snow warning in place
02:02across northern Scotland through Sunday. A few centimetres of snow building up. It
02:07showers so there will be hit and miss but some places as I say could see two
02:11to five centimetres by the end of the day. Elsewhere tomorrow well quite a bit
02:15of cloud again in the south but it should break up a little bit more. A few
02:18rain showers scattered about but some decent spirals of sunshine come the
02:21afternoon for northern England, southern Scotland, maybe southwest England also.
02:26Temperatures in the south perhaps a little higher on Sunday but generally as
02:30that air comes down it is going to feel colder for many certainly from northern
02:35England northwards and you add on that wind a significant wind chill blowing
02:39across Scotland. Those snow showers pretty significant as well. They
02:42continue into Monday and so we have another Met Office yellow warning in
02:47place for that and the weather remains interesting and potentially very
02:51wintry through much of next week. So do keep up to date with the forecast and
02:56the warnings. The app and the website will have the latest on those. They're
03:00constantly being monitored and the forecast constantly being checked and
03:04reviewed and we publish three times a day on YouTube.
