00:00Hi there, there will be some sunshine for a lucky few during the rest of the day but
00:06for most it's a cloudy picture with a few light drizzly showers. Those showers mainly
00:12affecting the north of Scotland, the Northern Isles and some more persistent light rain
00:15I think for the north of the mainland, a few showers into Northern Ireland, one or two
00:20there for North West England and North Wales, perhaps even the south east of England. Extensive
00:25cloud cover as you can see but there will be some sunshine coming through, especially
00:30through central and eastern Scotland and north east England and that's where we're likely
00:34to see temperatures into the low 20s, perhaps even 24 or even 25 degrees, somewhere like
00:39Fife. Otherwise, high teens generally under those cloudiest skies, south east Wales, south
00:45east England, 21, 22 degrees. Overnight the areas of cloud expand a little if anything
00:51and some lower cloud moves into western districts with some outbreaks of again mainly light
00:57rain and drizzle and you can see where the rain is by the end of the night. So for some
01:01it's a cloudy and damp night, still a few clear spells, well we do get some clear spells,
01:06temperatures dipping away, single figures in one or two spots but with the cloud for
01:12most it's mid-teens. So you can see the areas of cloud, one coming in from the north, another
01:18coming in from the west. We're in between two areas of low pressure at the moment so
01:23light winds yes but a fairly dull and gloomy start to the day on Thursday with those outbreaks
01:29of rain, I think more extensively compared to Wednesday and some potentially heavier
01:34rain into northern Ireland, north west England and north Wales for a time. But for most Thursday
01:41is simply a cloudier day and certainly more cloud there through central and eastern Scotland
01:46and north east England and that means it's going to be a cooler day compared to Wednesday
01:49afternoon with mid to high teens at best, some outbreaks of light rain and drizzle.
01:55But a little warmer for central and southern parts of the UK and with that warmth and weather
02:00front moving across we're likely to see some heavy showers developing initially for parts
02:05of Wales into the Midlands and then northern England, one or two for southern counties
02:09of England but the main focus for those heavy showers and the old rumble of thunder is likely
02:14through this central swathe later in the afternoon and during the evening reaching
02:18Lincolnshire, East Anglia by the end of the evening.
02:22Away from the showers some clear spells, some sunny spells during the afternoon but most
02:26places are going to be cloudy on Thursday, some sunshine coming through first part of
02:30Friday before some heavy rain moves in from the south west and then it looks like the
02:35potential for a wet weekend in places. Bye bye.
