28th November - National weather forecast, by Dan Stroud.
Transcript
00:00Hello. It's an improving picture right the way across the country on Sunday, although
00:04winter is certainly showing its hand with a fair amount of cold and frosty weather to
00:08come, and even some snow across the north.
00:12So Storm Arwen is continuing to clear south, and in its wake the wind has veered around
00:17to the north, so a fair amount of cold weather to come for everybody for the remainder of
00:21the weekend. Further outbreaks of rain will continue to affect eastern areas overnight
00:27tonight. Further west, clearing skies will allow temperatures to fall quite readily after
00:33dark, so widespread frost developing. And temperatures falling below zero right the
00:39way across the country, with a risk of ice across the north and across parts of Scotland.
00:45So a cold and frosty start on Sunday for many, although further north a more organised band
00:50of rain, sleet and snow will edge south across Scotland, and some of that falling as snow
00:55to fairly low levels for a time. Further south, a fairly nice bright sunny day for
01:01everybody. Temperatures generally disappointing, with highs of only around 3 or 4 degrees,
01:08and with that brisk northerly wind still feeling fairly chilly, especially in the far east.
01:14So that band of rain, sleet and snow, although largely falling as rain by the afternoon,
01:18will continue to edge south across many parts of England and Wales, skies clearing from
01:23the north, with an early frost developing Sunday night. So a cold and frosty start on
01:29Monday, although warming up for a time during the course of Tuesday with some rain, and
01:33cold weather perhaps returning later in the week briefly. Thank you for listening, and
01:38please check our social media channels for the latest updates. Bye for now!
