00:00Hello, welcome to your national weather update from the Met Office. The winds will be slowly
00:05easing today as Storm Corrie pulls away, but the storm system is still going to bring some
00:10very strong, potentially damaging winds to parts of Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.
00:15Behind it, a little ridge of high pressure, but the isobar is still close together so
00:19it is still breezy and that wind does feel cold. It's also bringing some showers into
00:24Wales, parts of Western England, Northern Scotland and things turning a bit damp across
00:28Northern Ireland during the afternoon. Sunny spells across Eastern England, but that's
00:32where the winds are strongest and across North East Scotland as well, where of course we've
00:36seen extensive damage. Temperatures 5, 6 degrees are best here, add on that wind and it feels
00:44much closer to freezing. The winds not as strong in the south-west and temperatures
00:49a little bit higher here, but still it feels chilly wherever you are. It's going to be
00:53turning a little chilly this evening, but then temperatures will actually rise overnight
00:57because cloud and rain will be trickling in. Nothing too heavy for most, but turning
01:02quite damp and drizzly in many areas, that rain easing perhaps across Scotland later
01:07on in the night. Temperatures, as I say, could dip down to 3 or 4 early in the evening, but
01:11by morning time, milder air will be with us. So we're going to start Tuesday at 7 or 8
01:18degrees in most places. It will be windy, however, again through Tuesday, particularly
01:23across Northern Scotland. Gusty winds here, nothing unusual for the time of year and nothing
01:28like a strong at the weekend. We do have a yellow warning in place because of those recent
01:32storms, there is the potential for further disruption. Quite a cloudy day for Wales and
01:37Northern Ireland, North West England, some rain on and off in this area at times across
01:41the Midlands too. Something a bit brighter across North East England, Southern Scotland
01:45with sunny spells. There'll be some showers across the far North East with those strong
01:50winds which could reach 60, 65 miles an hour. Across the far South, most places dry, maybe
01:55a little bit of drizzle, but predominantly cloudy and it is going to be mild. Again,
02:00obviously tempered by the wind somewhat in the far North East, but generally temperatures
02:05double figures, 12, even 13 in a few places where we see some sunny spells across parts
02:10of East Yorkshire. Through Tuesday evening, not a great deal of change. The winds will
02:15slowly start to ease across the North East. There'll be a few showers coming in here,
02:19staying quite cloudy with rain and drizzle across the Midlands, parts of Wales and Northern
02:24Ireland, clearer skies elsewhere. But staying quite windy and winds are a feature of the
02:28weather throughout this week, often pretty blustery, perhaps turning colder for most
02:32of us on Friday. More details as always if you follow us across social media.
