20th March - National weather forecast by Martin Bowles.
Transcript
00:00Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to the Met Office National Forecast.
00:05Dry and sunny weather will continue this afternoon and tomorrow, though it will stay quite breezy
00:09in the west.
00:11The dry weather is caused by a strong and persistent high pressure area currently centred
00:15over the Baltic Sea.
00:18As you can see, most of the UK will have wall-to-wall sunshine this afternoon.
00:22It will be quite breezy again, especially in the southwest, though less windy than yesterday.
00:28Temperatures will be above average for the time of year, and it will feel warm anywhere
00:32with shelter from the wind.
00:34Skies will stay clear for most of us tonight, so temperatures will fall away quickly as
00:39soon as it gets dark.
00:41Frost is likely anywhere away from the coast.
00:45If you're out gardening this afternoon, you might want to hold back from planting the
00:48most sensitive plants.
00:50We'll get more sunshine tomorrow across the whole of the UK, and no rain at all.
00:56It'll be breezy again in the far southwest, but most of us will have fairly light winds.
01:02Temperatures will be higher than today for most, especially in the southeast where a
01:05pleasantly warm 16 Celsius is likely.
01:09The dry and warm weather is expected to continue for a few more days.
01:13Keep an eye on our app and our social media channels to see how the weather develops.
