00:00Hi there. After a dry and sunny weekend for many, things are turning wet and cloudy for the start of the working week.
00:07If we take a look at the bigger picture, we can see that high pressure that's kept things settled over the weekend has shifted further eastwards,
00:14and that's allowing a frontal system to make its way across the country.
00:18It doesn't get too far, still pushing up against that high pressure system and does stall a bit over areas of England and Wales.
00:24But for tonight, though, that front will be bringing rain to Northern Ireland and Scotland, and as it does so,
00:29winds will be strengthening across western areas, with gales likely across Scotland locally severe in the most exposed locations.
00:37Across England and Wales, the cloud will continue to build, some clear skies prevailing in the far south-east where it could be chilly to begin with,
00:45but the temperatures then rising and staying mild in the west throughout the night underneath the cloud.
00:51As we progress into Monday morning, that rain will continue to make its way south-eastwards, but making very slow progress,
00:59and it could be heavy and locally persistent at times.
01:03Showers feed into Scotland following the front. These could still be blustery with the winds and providing some hail and a wintry mix over higher ground.
01:13Staying dry in the far south-east with temperatures climbing to 13 degrees, but feeling a bit colder in the north across Scotland once that front has cleared through.
01:22As we move into Monday evening, the rain still slowly making its way south-eastwards, eventually reaching the far south-east of England after dusk,
01:31with the showers and clearer spells continuing further north.
01:35And with rain scheduled to be a focus into the coming week, make sure you're staying up to date with all of the latest on our social media channels.
