Transcript
00:00Welcome to our national weather updates.
00:03The clouds bubbling up, the temperatures ticking upwards.
00:06It's going to be an interesting week of weather
00:08with the potential for further thunderstorms.
00:11Drifting northwards, a clutch of thunderstorms
00:13on Monday evening before steadily fizzling out.
00:16We'll keep some outbreaks of rain
00:17going across the far north of Scotland.
00:19But for most, it'll turn dry, maybe a bit misty in a few
00:22spots, and temperatures not dropping off too far either.
00:26A warm start to Tuesday, 10 or 11 Celsius,
00:28maybe down to single figures in some rural areas.
00:31We are going to see plenty of fine weather then on Tuesday.
00:34Again, maybe a bit of mist early on.
00:35Certainly, the coast of eastern Scotland and Orkney
00:38may suffer from har at times.
00:40But generally, as I said, a lot of dry, bright, and sunny
00:43weather across central and eastern parts.
00:45Further west, however, we are looking at a weather front
00:48moving in, bringing quite a bit of cloud and some rain
00:50at times to Northern Ireland, fringing
00:52into western Scotland, West Wales, and southwest England
00:55by the end of the day, by which time
00:56that rain could be turning quite heavy,
00:59some pretty bright colours there.
01:01Further east though, most places dry and fine
01:04with plenty of very warm sunshine, quite a humid feel,
01:07widely up to 23, 24 Celsius.
01:10London up towards the wash somewhere here, 26, possibly
01:1327 Celsius.
01:15Cooler on the coast, where it stays misty,
01:17and cooler under the cloud and rain further west,
01:19which will push more into Scotland, Wales, Northern
01:23England during Tuesday evening.
01:24Again, some heavy bursts mixed in.
01:26At the same time, there is the risk of thunderstorms
01:29drifting up from France across East Anglia and the southeast.
01:32Hit or miss again, not everywhere
01:35seeing the downpours, but they could be pretty lively.
01:38Then again, many places set fair on Wednesday.
01:41There'll be some showers across the northwest,
01:43still quite windy here as well.
01:45But for large parts of the country,
01:47Wednesday also dry and bright with hazy sunshine,
01:50a brighter day for Northern Ireland, Wales,
01:51and southwest England, although late on,
01:54notice the threat of more showers coming in here.
01:58Temperature-wise on a Wednesday, well,
02:00not quite as warm and humid, perhaps as Tuesday,
02:03but still up into the low to mid-20s
02:06across parts of eastern England, probably
02:07feeling warmer for Wales and Northern Ireland
02:09with a bit more sunshine.
02:11But the threat of more humid air coming up from the south,
02:15more thunderstorms then on Wednesday evening.
02:18Uncertainty about the exact details
02:20of this at this kind of range, but the potential
02:23for this warm, humid air to bring further intense
02:26downpours across parts of England in particular.
02:29At the same time, another weather front bringing some
02:31rain into parts of Northern Ireland and western Scotland.
02:35So make sure you stay up to date with the forecast
02:37because warm and humid air combined with some sunshine
02:41likely to spark further thunderstorms this week.
