00:00Oh hello, this is my bean plant.
00:24But it's not a bean plant yet, but it will be, and it's going to grow right out of that pot.
00:31Look, you see in here?
00:35Take these little beans, and you plant one right in here.
00:40And in no time at all, you've got a great big bean plant.
00:45It takes a little time.
00:49Hmm, nothing yet.
00:52How long is it going to take?
00:54You know, Theodore was asking himself that very question just the other day.
00:59Oh, not about my bean plant.
01:01He was wondering how long it was going to take for him to be bigger.
01:04Let me start at the beginning.
01:10It was a foggy morning in the big harbor.
01:17Theodore was just floating along, pretending he was flying through clouds.
01:22Suddenly, he heard Fodak's whistle.
01:27A moment later, the safety tech appeared.
01:30Theodore! Huffed Fodak, all out of breath.
01:33Emily has found a lost ship out on the ocean.
01:35She's bringing him into the harbor and needs your help immediately.
01:38On my way, whistled Theodore.
01:59When Theodore arrived at the harbor entrance,
02:01he could already see Emily's light piercing the fog.
02:09Theodore felt like he was bursting with questions for Emily.
02:14How did you know where to find the lost ship, Emily, he asked.
02:17Oh, replied Emily, I guess I just, just did.
02:25How do you find your way out on the ocean, Emily, continued Theodore.
02:29Well, said Emily, thinking.
02:34I, I just do.
02:38Oh, said Theodore.
02:40And then with a blast of a powerful whistle, Emily headed home.
02:46Leaving Theodore to bring the ship into her dock.
02:51Well, Theodore was very impressed with Emily.
02:54She always knows what to do, he said to himself.
02:57It must be nice to be bigger.
03:07Theodore looked at Emily one more time.
03:10When will I ever be bigger, he said softly.
03:18The dispatcher was waiting for Theodore when he returned to the Great Ocean Dock.
03:25Ah, Theodore, you have been doing very good work here in the harbor lately.
03:30Well, thank you, smiled Theodore.
03:33But today, the dispatcher continued, I have a different kind of job for you.
03:38A different job, repeated Theodore puzzled.
03:41Yes, Theodore, there's a fishing trawler who needs a new propeller.
03:44I would like you to take it to him.
03:46Sure, said Theodore.
03:48Where is he, near the cargo shed or the fuel dock?
03:52Actually, replied the dispatcher, he isn't in the harbor.
03:59He lives in Cayley's Cove.
04:01It's not too far from here.
04:03Theodore was very surprised.
04:05It was always the bigger tux like Emily who got to go outside the harbor.
04:11But, he said slowly, I've never been to Cayley's Cove before.
04:16Maybe someone should come with me, like Emily.
04:19Oh, yes, I'll go, said Emily.
04:23Oh, I think you'll find it by yourself, said the dispatcher.
04:27It suddenly seemed like a whole new world had opened up, right in front of Theodore's eyes.
04:32On my way, he tooted.
04:41Well, in no time, Theodore had picked up the propeller and was off towards the ocean.
04:49Now, he had left the harbor before, but this time, well, this time felt different.
04:55It was a strange new feeling.
04:58Theodore wasn't exactly sure just what that new feeling was.
05:10With a slight sea breeze at his back, Theodore was soon outside the warm waters of the big harbor.
05:20He could feel the powerful ocean waves beginning to pound against his hull.
05:24A whoosh, a whoosh, a whoosh.
05:28And his own powerful engine pushing him on, sure and steady.
05:37Soon, it was time to turn towards the shore.
05:40To Theodore, the craggy rocks and the wind-whipped pine trees looked old and new at the same time.
05:50He rounded a rocky part of the shore.
05:52And there, nestled in against the coast, all dappled with sunlight, was a colorful little fishing village.
05:58That must be Cayley's Cove, Theodore said to himself.
06:01I did find it by myself, just like the dispatcher said.
06:05And again, there was that new feeling.
06:09But, what was it?
06:13A fishing trawler was resting at his dock.
06:16Hello, Theodore called. I'm Theodore Tugboat. Are you Cayley?
06:21Oh no, laughed the trawler. My name is Truro.
06:25But where's Cayley? asked Theodore.
06:28Cayley?
06:30Cayley?
06:32Cayley?
06:34Cayley?
06:36Cayley?
06:38Cayley?
06:41But where's Cayley? asked Theodore, looking around.
06:44Oh, there's no Cayley here, answered Truro. That's just what they call it.
06:48But I'm Dorothy, a small voice piped up.
06:54Theodore looked down, surprised to see a little fishing dory.
06:58Did you come all the way from the big harbor? asked Dorothy.
07:01Well, yes, I did, replied Theodore. I came with this propeller.
07:07That'll be for me, said Truro. And I'm much obliged.
07:10We've never had a big harbor tugboat out here before.
07:13I like your hat, chirped Dorothy.
07:15Oh, thank you, smiled Theodore.
07:18What's it like in the big harbor? asked Dorothy.
07:21How many tugboats does it have? Is there really a giant oil rig?
07:25It seemed the little dory was bursting with questions for Theodore.
07:29Well, there's Emily, replied Theodore.
07:32She's the biggest, and she knows the most.
07:35He likes to vroom his engine and blow up smoke.
07:42And Foduck, the safety tug.
07:45He's always looking out for dangerous things.
07:48And then there's Hank.
07:50Hank, replied Dorothy.
07:52Hank's kind of silly, and he bumps into stuff sometimes.
07:56Oops, said Dorothy.
08:00And Owen, the oil rig, always talks really loud, hollered Theodore.
08:04Yes, sirree, Bob. Yes, sirree, Bob, hollered Dorothy right back.
08:08Theodore was startled by just how loud the little dory could be.
08:11It must be great to live in the big harbor, said Dorothy.
08:15I've never been anywhere before. I've never been past that big rock.
08:24Well, Theodore thought about it for a moment, then he made a decision.
08:28Dorothy, would you like me to take you for a ride out on the ocean?
08:32Can I, Truro, can I? asked Dorothy.
08:34Sure, said Truro. Theodore is big enough to take care of you.
08:38Oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy, shouted Dorothy.
08:41She was so excited, she began wiggling back and forth in front of Theodore.
08:45Let's go, Dorothy, said Theodore.
08:53And so, as soon as Theodore had given Truro his new propeller,
08:57he set off with Dorothy the dory on a little adventure.
09:00The ocean's really big, isn't it? The water's much wetter, right?
09:04Where do the waves come from, Theodore?
09:06Dorothy was talking so fast, Theodore couldn't even answer.
09:10Are we lost, Theodore?
09:12Theodore looked around. Dorothy had been asking so many questions,
09:16he'd lost sight of land.
09:18Theodore looked around.
09:20Dorothy had been asking so many questions, he'd lost sight of land.
09:25Where's Gailey's Cove? asked the little Dory.
09:28Theodore thought a moment.
09:30Oh, oh, it's just over there, he said, and set off again with Dorothy.
09:55There it is!
09:57You found it, Theodore, you found it! Hooray!
10:01Sure enough, there was Gailey's Cove again, not too far away.
10:05Here we are, said Theodore.
10:09Dorothy felt like she was bursting with questions for Theodore.
10:12How did you know where to find Gailey's Cove? she asked.
10:15Oh, replied Theodore,
10:18I guess I just did.
10:22How do you find your way? Way out on the ocean, Theodore, continued Dorothy.
10:27Well, said Theodore, thinking, I just do.
10:32Then, with a powerful blast of his whistle,
10:36Theodore pulled Dorothy toward Gailey's Cove.
10:40Dorothy was very impressed with Theodore.
10:43You know everything, she said. It must be nice to be bigger.
10:48Well, Theodore didn't exactly know what to say,
10:51but then he smiled and swayed from side to side,
10:54the way he always did when he was especially happy.
11:05It wasn't long before Theodore and Dorothy reached Gailey's Cove again.
11:09Theodore could see it was getting late.
11:13It's time for me to go home now, he announced.
11:16Thanks again for bringing me my propeller, called Toro.
11:19Can you come and visit us again soon, asked Dorothy, and show me more things?
11:23Sure I will, said Theodore right away.
11:26And with a farewell toot-toot, he set off for home.
11:31The sun was just going down in a beautiful golden glow over the edge of the ocean.
11:35Theodore's engine was tired, but he felt happy.
11:39It had been a wonderful day, full of wonderful things to see and do.
11:43And suddenly, he had that new feeling again.
11:46The feeling he'd been having all day.
11:49And this time, he knew what that feeling was.
11:53It was a feeling of being bigger.
12:08I wonder how my little bean plant's been doing while I was telling her that story.
12:12Well, look at that.
12:14Oh, a little bean sprout.
12:16See, it's growing. It just takes a little time.
12:21Thanks for visiting us here in the Big Harbor, and we'll see you all again next time.
12:25Hello, little bean sprout.
12:27Can I get you anything?
12:29Give him a little drink of water.
12:31Just a little water.
12:34There you go.
