00:50In Havana, Cuba, on Monday morning, the power was restored to about 50% of the people.
00:55The Electric Union of the capital province reported that currently 172 circuits have
00:59service, which represents 317 megawatts that serve around 50% of clients.
01:05In this regard, the General Director of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Cuba,
01:10Lázaro Guerra Hernández, informed that there are 700 megawatts served in the country and
01:16work is being done to consolidate the existing microsystems.
01:20The Mariel Unit No. 8 is already in service, and so are the floating power plants of Havana,
01:25Mariel and Energas Boca de Jaduco, which are collectively providing coverage to the capital
01:30and some areas of the provinces of Mayabeque and Artemisa.
01:34The central microsystem is supplying more than 200 megawatts from the provinces of Matanzas
01:39to Camaguey.
01:40The rest of the provinces have functional subsystems.
01:42The Electric Union stressed it keeps working to follow the strategy in place to guarantee
01:47the connection of the national electric system.
02:09In Cuba, meteorological authorities report that Tropical Storm Oscar is advancing slowly
02:14over Cuban territory, transiting in the province of Guantanamo.
02:17Likewise, authorities communicated it has been moving towards the west at 4 km per hour
02:23and that it is 15 km northeastern from Guantanamo City and 45 km from Olguín.
02:31They also pointed out that the most heavy rainfalls are occurring in Maisey, Baracoa
02:35and San Antonio del Sur in Guantanamo province.
02:38They added that storm surges will be likely at northern coasts of Guantanamo, Olguín
02:42and La Astuna.

02:54the opening ceremony of the 16th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention
02:58on Biological Diversity, COP16, a 12-day meeting aimed at advancing biodiversity conservation.
03:05The meeting begins on Monday and runs through November 1st.
03:10COP16 brings together more than 15,000 people from over 190 countries to push for action
03:16on biodiversity conservation, making it the most attended event since these conferences
03:21began in 1994, UN officials said.
03:24The Colombian government is pushing as host for the meeting to be the most inclusive in
03:29the organization's history.
03:31The goal of this meeting is for countries to take action to protect the world's flora
03:35and fauna.

05:55held for the first time in an expanded format between October 22 and 24.

06:05as the Middle East crisis and political and financial operations within the bloc.
06:10An Executive Vice President of Venezuela, Delsi Rodriguez, arrived this Monday in Russia
06:24to participate in the BRICS Summit to be held in the city of Kazan from October 22 to 24.

10:48In Lebanon, the Israeli regime continues massive aggressions against the southern suburbs of

10:54The bombardment by the Israeli Zionist regime hit the southern suburbs of Beirut, affecting
10:58the areas of al-Hadath and Hararik, where a residential building near al-Hassanine mosque
11:04was also hit.
11:05In addition, the Israeli army launched a series of violent raids against the city of Nabatyeh,
11:09resulting in the death of four Lebanese.
