00:13Today, we're in Japan and we're doing a camera vlog test on the Samsung S24.
00:19In this video, we're not only going to be looking at how the cameras perform, we're
00:22also going to be looking at our experiences with the phone the whole trip.
00:26Let's go.
00:27I actually meant the S24+.
00:29As you can see, this is the bigger of the two S24 series devices that was launched.
00:34And it's pretty exciting because this phone, I feel like, has the most improvements out
00:39of all the S24 series devices that were launched together, which includes even the S24 Ultra.
00:45I've been using the S24+, for a few weeks, like months.
00:49Has it been a month?
00:50I think it's been like a month or more.
00:52And I'm proud to say that it's still doing well because I've been using it sans case.
00:57It has the armor aluminum edges doing their job.
01:00I love how this thing is nice and matte.
01:03There are no scratches on that quad HD display and yes, those are my notes.
01:06All in all, I still feel like this size is a little too big for my hands.
01:11I would still rather the S24 size.
01:14But I will say that despite this phone being a little too big for me, it feels very balanced.
01:20There's no bulky camera module on this.
01:23But more specifically, I would like more color options for this phone because especially
01:28if I'm rocking it sans case, it would have been cute to have a pink one.
01:35The S24 Plus features a triple camera setup that is a 15 megapixel main shooter with OIS.
01:41You have a 12 megapixel wide and that's a 10 megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
01:494K 30fps.
01:54Walking and talking, this thing has OIS.
01:57So this is what that looks like.
02:00There is also a super steady mode on top of that.

02:09We're trying to find a train so we're in Osaka and we're trying to get to Kobe.
02:49You can actively see the HDR working on this phone.
02:53So when I take a photo, you can see the whole photo process after.

03:18The whole point of us being in Kobe is to get Kobe beef.
03:40S24 Plus has 4900mAh battery capacity.
03:44That's an improvement from the 4700mAh of the previous generation phone.
03:49They also say that it's 5% more battery efficient.
03:52I also said this in my first video on this phone so check that out if you haven't already.
03:56But anyway, I did leave at 11 and it was 90%.
04:00It is 12.45 now and we're at 75%.
04:05Most of the use cases were surprise camera.
04:11So this is a wide 1x, 3x.
04:15Look at that 3x zoom on this.
04:18And this is under 4K.
04:21Look at that.
04:26This is 12x zoom and that's as far as this phone will zoom in 4K.

04:41Let's try this appetizer.

04:53That doesn't look like a steak.
04:56Look who's enjoying the Z Flip 5 because of how you can shoot with a clamshell form factor.
05:20Up front on that punch hole, that's a 12 megapixel selfie camera.
05:26Yeah, there was a wide and a 1x.
05:35There is a wide and a 1x on selfie but the difference is like very small.
05:41I think they're lost.
05:44Okay, this is 3x zoom.
05:48Let's see how stable this footage is because I'm also walking and talking.
05:54Okay, that was actually quite impressive.
05:56Again, that was 3x zoom.
05:57I was walking and shooting and the video, it looks very stable.
06:24There is portrait video on this.
06:35It's a 3rd year camera and it can shoot in 4K.
06:38Which is amazing because not all phones can shoot portrait video on 4K.
06:44A lot of them downsize to 1080p or even worse, 720p.
06:54Let's see how stable it is.
07:25Time check, it's 3.47pm and we're at 42%.
07:32Now, I've been using this for data.
07:35I've been using it for photos and even navigating.
07:38I'm also absolutely loving the 3x optical zoom on this.
07:41With how good zooms are on camera phones these days,
07:46I am starting to take photos on 3x zoom or 2x zoom by default.
07:51It just gives that really nice bokeh in the background.
07:54It gives a different angle.
07:56But I will say that when I started testing out this device,
08:01I came from the S24 Ultra.
08:03And because that phone had a better zoom at first,
08:06I felt like this didn't have a good enough zoom
08:10because I got so spoiled by the amazing zooms on that flagship phone.
08:16But now that I think about it, this has a very capable zoom.
08:20I just again got spoiled.
08:46Time check, 6.55pm and we are at 20%.
08:49This is what the usage looks like.
08:51And another thing about the S24 Plus, like the S24 Ultra,
08:55this thing has AI.
08:56This thing also has a piece of rice on it.
08:58Pretty useful especially when you're traveling
09:00because for example, I have this Japanese menu
09:03and I can just tap this on the side.
09:05And as you can see, you have different options.
09:08You can scan, translate, even add to notes or copy all.
09:12And that's all in Japanese so there's no way I'll be able to copy all by myself.
09:16I mean this comes in as pretty useful
09:18and I know some would argue that it's basically Google Translate
09:22but the fact that you can access it from your camera,
09:25that just saves so much time.
09:27And honestly, when you're traveling, ain't nobody got time to open up,
09:30pull up Google Translate and then take a photo.
09:32You know what I mean?
09:33The whole thing.
09:34So, really useful.
09:40Battery check, I now have 5% on this phone.
09:43And it's time for low light samples
09:45but obviously at 5%, I wasn't able to shoot
09:48because I didn't want my phone to die and get lost.
09:51Great news though, I already got low light shots with the Glicoman.
09:54Actually, when these shots were taken,
09:56I specifically reached for this phone because of good low light performance.
10:02Of course, when shooting in crazy touristy areas like this,
10:06AI editing comes in clutch.
10:08And finally, at the launch of the S24 series,
10:11Samsung did claim that these phones were now social media optimized
10:14as they do year after year.
10:16Anyway, if you want to have an idea as to how these phones perform
10:19on social media, I do have a social media test of the S24 Ultra.

10:26Right, so final thoughts.
10:28First off, I would say the Samsung S24 Plus is a Goldilocks phone.
10:32I was using this for a few weeks prior my Osaka trip
10:35and I would say that everything just went smooth sailing.
10:38Everything just worked.
10:39I got flagship capabilities.
10:41Like, you don't miss anything.
10:42Not any feature when you're using this phone
10:45except for probably when you get to test out S24 Ultra cameras.
10:50And then there's no going back from there.
10:51But I'm pretty sure that's a phone reviewer problem.
10:54Jokes aside, I'd say that this is a very good phone.
10:57I'd say that of the S24 series line,
11:00you get the most value in terms of upgrades with this device.
11:03These also have very good cameras.
11:05And specifically, low light shooting on this is just...
11:08Bottom line, I think that if you want the most Samsung flagship features
11:12but at a tinier size and price point,
11:16I said tinier, not tiniest,
11:18this is a phone to check out.
