00:00We're looking at the Samsung Galaxy S22 in this video.

00:13Welcome to Issa Does Tech, where we do tech in your life, in style, in pink.
00:18I know you guys have been waiting on this video, so this is our first look at the S22.
00:23Now I did do a quick hands-on of this phone before launch, and it was against the backdrop
00:27of all the stuff that Samsung announced, so if you want to check that out, I'll link it
00:31up here and down below.
00:32And yes, I heard you guys, I will be doing a social media test with this phone, so comment
00:36down below what specific social media feature you'd want me to test out in that upcoming
00:41video.
00:42In the meantime, this video is basically our official unboxing, hands-on camera tour video,
00:48except I didn't unbox this phone because you guys already know what's gonna be in it.
00:54Almost nothing.
00:55I'm kidding.
00:56Just some paperwork, that charging cord, SIM tool, and that's about it.
01:01I ordered my unit on the Samsung website, I did pre-order it.
01:04This is the base pink gold S22, and basically I wanted to test out this phone because one,
01:09it's smaller, two, it comes in pink, and three, this has the same cameras and processors as
01:14the S22 Plus, so at least on the S22, not Ultra phones, it didn't seem like you were
01:20sacrificing a lot for the smaller form factor.
01:24Alright, before we move on, a quick montage.
01:46The S22 is the smallest phone from the S22 line.
01:50Here it is side-by-side with the S22 Plus, and here it is side-by-side with the S22 Ultra.
01:56Despite it being the smallest phone in this line, it's still almost just the same size
02:01as the iPhone 13 or the iPhone 13 Pro.
02:06Last year's base S21 is almost the same size, just a little bigger than this year's S22.
02:14And though these two phones look pretty similar, these two have very different feels.
02:20I feel like the S22 feels a little bit more flat than the S21, despite both having flat screens.
02:28I think this has to do with how the backs of the phones are, with the S21 tapering off
02:33to the sides, which the S22 does not do.
02:37And while I admit that I'd still prefer a smaller phone, and the iPhone mini is still
02:43unrivaled in terms of size for me, the S22 is the most comfy to hold from the S22 series
02:50for me.
02:51Definitely way more comfy than the S22 Ultra.
02:56This phone features a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP wide, and a 10MP telephoto shooter, which
03:04can do 3x optical zoom and 30x space zoom.
03:20This phone can also record in 8K using the rear cameras, and you're looking at footage
03:25shot on 8K right now.
03:27This is 8K footage right now, this is 1x, and it can zoom up until 6x.
03:34Let's go back to 1x.
03:36This is 4K, 60fps, 1x.
03:40Can zoom up until 10x.
03:47Back to 1x.
03:48I have to stop recording to do wide on 4K Ultra HD, but it can do it.
03:564K 30 this time, this is 1x, wide, 1x, 3x, and it can zoom up until 12x.

04:36There are only 3 cameras on the back of this phone, and unlike the Ultra, there's no secondary
04:42telephoto camera.
04:44Portrait on 3x zoom is still looking fire, and yes, AI Stereo Depth Map is also on this
04:51phone.
04:52Additionally, they said expect better portrait cutouts on the S22 devices, and that includes
04:58this base S22.
05:00There's a 10MP selfie camera up front in that punch hole.
05:04And yes, auto-framing mode on video is also available on this cam.
05:08Great news for all the vloggers, up front, you can shoot in 4K, and that's footage you're
05:13seeing right now.
05:14The S22 features 3,700mAh battery and 25W wire charging.
05:21Different from what we find on the S22+, though if you want a full comparison between
05:26the two phones, you can check out my previous vid.
05:30Like I said, I did pre-order this phone, which means I got $150 credit, which also means
05:35I put it all on Samsung cases.
05:38I got the butter silicone case, really great looking simple one.
05:42I also got the white and green strap case, which we initially saw on the flip phones.
05:48And finally, I got the LED view cover, the most expensive case in the bunch, but I'm
05:54all for folio cases.
05:56And this is pretty cool, you can also customize the LED light alerts on this.
06:01And because I pre-ordered, I got upgraded to the 256GB version for free.
06:06That also came with YouTube Premium and Spotify Premium.
06:10Total for that came out to $882.
06:13Let's go friends, camera tour time.
06:16We go to the camera and I am on portrait.
06:19That's automatically 3x.
06:21You can see everything behind me is blurred.
06:24You can switch the effect strength here and there are different types of blur here.
06:29On portrait, we can do 1x, no wide, 3x up until 3x.
06:37Up here, you have settings, flash settings, you have timer, and then you have skin smoothness.
06:45So that is turned off right now.
06:47On the right, we have photo so you can do wide, 1x, 3x up until 30x, back to 1x.
06:57Up here, you have different settings.
07:00You have flash settings, timer settings, size settings, and this is motion photo.
07:05If I'm not mistaken, someone asked me about this in the comments of my S22 Ultra video.
07:11So this is your answer.
07:12There are different filters up here.
07:16You also have the My Filters option.
07:18Basically, take the filter or look in an existing photo and apply it to whatever photos you're taking.
07:27You have face which gives you smoothness and then tone.
07:32Jawline, eyes.
07:34And then on the right, you have video and then you have settings, flash settings.
07:40You have a super steady mode.
07:42You can do wide, 1x.
07:44Wide and 1x in super steady mode.
07:47You can do wide, 1x, 3x up until 12x on video.
07:54And this is Ultra HD 30.
07:56You can do 4K 60.
07:59You can do 8K with the rear cameras.
08:03Let's go back to 4K because I've been trying to shoot everything in 4K.
08:07Down here, you have auto framing.
08:10So basically, did you see that?
08:13So you can tap someone to have the camera track them automatically.
08:17If I turn it off, we're back to like 1x.
08:20Let me show you that again.
08:21So we are on wide, but if I turn on auto framing, it zooms in.
08:27We have one person in frame.
08:29It did zoom in.
08:31And then, oh, that's cool.
08:36Let's turn this off and it goes back to 1x.
08:39And under more, we have pro mode.
08:46And of course, this allows you to use all your different cameras
08:50for pro photos and videos up until 12x.
08:55You have a pro video mode as well.
08:59You also have single take mode.
09:01Something we've always liked with Samsung phones.
09:04Basically, it takes a whole video clip and then after doing that,
09:10AI will pick out your best shots and even edit it for you.
09:14So for example, that quick clip, it's processing right now.
09:18And then, it'll show you the best takes from that clip.
09:22And it'll even edit it for you like add filters, make collages.
09:26You get the idea.
09:27Now, the single take mode isn't new on Samsung phones.
09:30We've seen this before in previous phones.
09:32But always fun for social media.
09:34You have a night mode.
09:36You can do wide, 1x, 3x, up until 10x.
09:40Back to 1x.
09:42Timer, size.
09:44You have a food mode just like in the S22 Ultra.
09:46And I have a camera tour of that.

09:50You have a panorama mode.
09:52A super slow-mo mode.
09:54There's a slow-mo mode.
09:56And then, you have the hyperlapse portrait video
09:59which basically blurs out your background in video.
10:03And you have, of course, different portrait filters.
10:07You also have 3x.

10:11Up until, well, 3x.
10:133x and 1x, basically.
10:16Up here, you also have skin smoothness.
10:19And then, you have director's view.
10:21And that allows for you to see all the different lenses you have.

10:29And you can also move this around in picture-in-picture mode.

10:37So, that was at the very end.
10:39Let's go to selfies now.
10:42And this can do 4K60 on selfie mode.
10:47You have auto-framing up front like you saw earlier.
10:51And you also have your different size settings.
10:54And different filters.
10:56You have my filters.
10:57You have face filters.
10:58But that's only available in 1080p.
11:01Switch to 1080p30.
11:03And it does say that that's the default recording resolution.
11:07On photos, you have 1x wide.
