00:09And that is why the Philippine National Police, or PNP, is so looking forward to jointly conducting
00:15a probe on the Barayuga case with the National Bureau of Investigation, or NBI.

00:24A welcome development in the Philippine National Police, as the National Bureau of Investigation,
00:30or NBI, will also assist in the reinvestigation of the murder of former PCSO Board Secretary,
00:38Retired Police General Wesley Barayuga, who was ambushed in Mandaluyong City in 2020.
00:45The joint investigation by the PNP and NBI follows a directive from Justice Secretary
00:51Jesus Crispin Remulla to build the case up.
01:05The PNP is also prepared to share its case folder on Barayuga's murder with the NBI.
01:12This is a welcome and good development on the part of the investigation because the
01:17The PNP is ready to file the murder case against former PCSO Chief Ruyina Garma and
01:29Retired Police Colonel Edilberto Leonardo who have been linked to the killing of Barayuga
01:34at present.
01:35They are only waiting for Barayuga's wife to sign the affidavit.
01:39Barayuga's driver who survived the ambush will also be added as a complainant in the
02:02separate frustrated murder case.
