00:00Recently, the contestants of the Male Beauty Pageant, the Misters of the Philippines, were introduced.

00:17It was a grand night when the formal opening of the 11th edition of one of the longest running Male Beauty Pageants in the country, the Misters of the Philippines, was held.
00:32The National Male Beauty Pageant is a celebration of diversity, talent, and advocacy that shows the talents of men from different parts of the country.
00:46This is not just handsome men, physical looks, but it's overall package. What I'm injecting to them is actually they need to be an ambassador of education.
00:55Education is really our highlight for the Misters of the Philippines.
00:5930 contestants came out in front of the press wearing their Victoria's Secret-inspired swimwear and red suits.
01:06Some of the past winners of the Misters of the Philippines and the reigning man of the world, Sergio Azuaga of Venezuela, also attended the event to give support to the contestants this year.
01:28I always tell my friends that no matter what you do in life, whether you join a competition or what, just be true to yourself.
01:36I hope that they will enjoy this moment, this journey, since they just started. I hope that they will feel the brotherhood, the lessons that they will get from this journey.
01:51They are the Misters of the Philippines Cebu City, Misters of the Philippines District 1 Las Pinas City, and Misters of the Philippines Cebu Province who stood out in front of the press and won the press favorite.
02:04Thankful to you all for choosing me. I did not expect this, but I'm glad that I'm doing something right.
02:11Very unexpected then, because this is my first pageant and actually I'm only 18 years old. If ever man, I'm a little bit taller, but I'm also aiming for the grand title, which is the man of the world.
02:22My advocacy as a teenager is to motivate my fellow teenagers to not limit themselves, that they are just like that because they are still young.
02:31It means a lot to me because you know like when you're in down times and you see the media or the people care about you and they give you a simple gift to make you happy.
02:39And that means a lot to me. I advocate about the effect of mental health because I suffered from mental health for a long period because of bullying, because of discrimination.
02:49And that's why what makes me happy is to share my story because I really want to change the life of the kids.
02:55So nutritional health and nutritional education is something that I would push for.
02:59So I hope that through addressing the different SDGs that the UN has, we could make that optimal health for our children in school so that they can be able to learn better.
