00:00Good morning. Some mist and fog patches to greet some of us this morning, but it's a
00:05fine and bright end to summer. And the reason for that is courtesy of high pressure. This
00:10area of high pressure to the south and west is going to extend north and eastwards right
00:14the way across the country during the course of this afternoon and into Saturday. But it
00:19will eventually allow something a bit less settled in across the south a little bit later.
00:24But back to this morning. So any early morning mist or fog patches, particularly across the
00:29west, will actually be fairly quick to actually lift and clear, leaving much of the country
00:33with fine and bright conditions. But cloud will bubble up during the course of the early
00:39afternoon. The only exception to that is western Scotland, where I can see a considerable improvement
00:45with largely clear skies, especially across the western isles. But despite the cloud,
00:52temperatures were fairly decent for the time of year. Across the south and east, we're
00:56looking at temperatures 22 or 23 further to the north across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
01:02Temperatures much closer to the seasonal average for this time of year. Now, that cloud will
01:08tend to actually clear and break up during the course of this evening and overnight,
01:14with much of the country having clear skies, although the wind will start to pick up across
01:19the south and east. And just look at this across the English Channel and increasing
01:23amounts of cloud and some showery outbreaks of rain. We need to keep a bit of an eye on
01:28that for Saturday. But overnight temperatures generally, especially across the south and
01:33east, staying comfortably in double figures. Further to the north, it's a bit of a chillier
01:38night with temperatures into mid to high singles, especially in some rural spots across parts
01:44of Scotland. So it's a bright start to Saturday morning away from the extreme south. But this
01:51cloud already across the English Channel will gradually push further northwards during the
01:56course of the morning. And it does bring an increasing risk of some showers and some of
02:01those showers could potentially be locally heavy and thundery in places. But across North Wales,
02:07northwards, it's a fine day for many of us. And temperatures on the court on Saturday
02:13will be decent across parts of Northern England and Scotland. Temperatures around average for
02:19the time of year. But across the south and east, it's starting to feel increasingly
02:23humid here as we tuck into some more humid air from the continent. And that change to
02:31the conditions with that cloud and rain across the south will continue to spread northwards
02:35as we move our way through into Sunday. Thank you for watching and please stay
02:40tuned for the latest updates. Bye for now. Have a good day.
