00:00Hello, very good morning to you. Meteorological autumn does start tomorrow but for the time being it is still summer and in summer we do often get some thunderstorms.
00:09That's what we're going to see developing later on today and through tomorrow. There are already thunderstorms across parts of France.
00:15These are going to feed a little bit further northwards through this weekend.
00:18Otherwise though, for many, a lot of fine weather around because of this high pressure.
00:23It's dominated the story through yesterday and will continue to do so for many today.
00:27Lots of sunshine on offer, particularly across much of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Northern and Central England and Wales.
00:33Further south, a bit more cloud building as we go through the day.
00:37Some places still having a good deal of bright sunny weather but there just will be a bit more cloud than further north.
00:43With the cloud, there will also be the risk of some thunderstorms.
00:47A bit uncertain as to exactly where we're going to see these developing, if at all.
00:51But there is the potential that we could see some heavy thundery downpours.
00:55So do watch out for those in the south at least.
00:57Temperatures are going to be well on the warm side really because of the sunshine.
01:02Generally seeing highs in the low to mid 20s.
01:05Mid 20s most likely towards the south, low 20s further north.
01:09Still warm in that sunshine.
01:11More fine weather to come as we go through the end of the day for many.
01:14But in the south, we are going to see the showers perhaps becoming a bit more widespread, pushing a little bit further northwards.
01:20And they'll continue to push further northwards as we go through the day.
01:23They are still going to be pretty here to miss so many of us will avoid them.
01:26But just be aware, perhaps over East Anglia, there's a chance that you could get woken up by some heavy rain or the odd rumble of thunder.
01:33A bit more cloud through tonight than there was last night and we do have some more humid air coming through.
01:38And so temperatures won't drop as much.
01:40It will still be perhaps a little fresh, cool towards the north-northwest of the UK where we get the clear skies still.
01:46But for many, it's going to be a warmer, milder night, especially towards the southeast.
01:52More showers are possible as we go through tomorrow.
01:54They are still going to be pretty hit or miss.
01:57There won't be a huge amount of them potentially, but there will still be some quite likely, most likely perhaps around some eastern parts.
02:05They may spread a bit further west and also the potential for some more showers to come up from the south as we go through the afternoon.
02:12And it is just always worth bearing in mind that some of these showers could be quite heavy.
02:16We could see some localised impacts if we do see any intense downpours.
02:20And there's also the risk of some frequent lightning and hail mixed in with them too.
02:24Although many of us likely to stay dry and avoid them.
02:28They're a bit more cloud on Sunday compared to Saturday, but with the more humid air for some, it is going to be a bit hotter in the southeast.
02:35Could get into the high 20s perhaps and even elsewhere, low 20s quite likely.
02:40Perhaps across Scotland, temperatures will be down a couple of degrees compared to today because of the fact that there'll be a bit more cloud around.
02:47There is a front waiting out in the west and that's going to push its way across the UK as we go early next week.
02:52And so that is going to lead to a likely to be a pretty unsettled start to next week.
02:57What happens thereafter? Some uncertainty.
03:00I think we will see some rain, some thunderstorms at times and that rain could be quite heavy.
03:04But then there are some signs we could have high pressure building from the west.
03:08And if that happens, then things could turn a little bit drier.
03:11But definitely no guarantee that we're going to see that happening.
03:14Now that's it for me. I'm actually taking a few months off, so I won't be around for a little while.
03:19But all of my colleagues will be able to keep you up to date.
03:21So make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel and never miss an update.
03:25Enjoy your weekend. Bye bye.
