00:00Hi there, the weather settles down this week for the whole of the UK with high pressure
00:06building in, leading to weather fronts and low pressure systems being deflected well
00:11to the north of the UK. This is the low pressure that brought some mixed weather over the weekend
00:15to the north. It's associated cold front, a weaker fare, moving south, clearing the
00:19cloud across the south and southwest, although it will take some time for parts of Devon
00:24and Cornwall to turn sunnier into the afternoon. Nevertheless, once that happens, for the vast
00:28majority, it's a dry and bright afternoon and there will be some high and medium cloud
00:34about. For most, it's light winds, it's sunny spells and it's going to feel warm in the
00:40sunny spells, certainly compared with the cold weather that we ended last week with
00:4522 to 23 Celsius in the south, mid to high teens further north and west. Nevertheless,
00:52by the end of the afternoon, we will see some lower cloud arriving into the Outer Hebrides
00:57and that will affect much of western Scotland and the far north by the evening with some
01:03light outbreaks of rain and drizzle pushing in as well. Shetland sees that after midnight,
01:08for example. The breeze picks up here, so with the breeze and the cloud, it's going
01:13to stay mild in the far northwest overnight, but further south where we've got the clear
01:17skies, temperatures will fall and in some places a few patchy mist and fog areas will
01:23form, particularly Vale of York, Trent Valley, for example, Welsh Marches, but elsewhere
01:28where we've got the clear spells, temperatures dipping to 8 or 9 Celsius in main urban areas,
01:332 to 4 Celsius in some sheltered spots. So, a few mist and fog patches first thing across
01:38England and Wales, they'll soon clear, leading to blue skies widely. Meanwhile, the low cloud
01:43across the north and northwest of Scotland will tend to push away to the far north as
01:49the day progresses, although it stays largely cloudy for the Northern Isles, Lewis and Harris,
01:54for example. Some broken cloud in the far north of Scotland and with a slight adjustment
01:59in the wind direction, the winds coming in from the south and southwest for northeast
02:05Scotland, some fern-assisted temperatures will turn up and as a result, low to mid-20s
02:13for the far northeast of Scotland, but elsewhere, high teens, low 20s, similar to Monday afternoon's
02:21highs and plenty of sunshine as we end Tuesday afternoon up and down the country with the
02:27exception of the far north and northwest. Again, a few spots of light rain and drizzle
02:31for Shetland, for example, and as the night progresses, we'll see a bit of a breeze coming
02:35in from the North Sea and that will allow some low cloud to move in across East Anglia
02:40and the southeast, that coming into central and southern parts of England overnight, but
02:46it will push back during the day on Wednesday with higher pressure setting up over Scandinavia
02:51and this easterly airflow. That means that by Thursday, the highest temperatures across
02:56the country will be in the west of Scotland, northwest England, southwest England and west
03:01Wales, for example, with a cooler breeze down those North Sea coast and some patchy cloud
03:06at times, but with high pressure in charge, it's going to be a prolonged settle spell,
03:11at least from Monday to Thursday before some showers turn up as we end the week.
