00:00Hello, very good morning to you. It is going to be a hot and sunny day for some of us,
00:05especially towards the southeast. Further north and west, and we still have the remnants
00:09of a decaying cold front here, so a bit more cloud and a few outbreaks of showery rain
00:14first thing. But on the whole, it's a dry story, especially once any of that rain clears
00:19away through the morning. Lots of fine sunny weather around across Scotland and Northern
00:23Ireland. It's looking markedly sunnier than it was yesterday, and most of us seeing some
00:28decent summer sunshine through large chunks of the day. There may be some low cloud around
00:33some Irish coastal parts, but on the whole, lots of bright and sunny weather. With that
00:38then, temperatures really rising. Highs of around 32 Celsius today in the southeast,
00:42making it the hottest day of the year so far. Meanwhile, towards the northwest, it is going
00:46to be fresher than this, but still reasonably warm, especially in any sunshine. More fine
00:52weather to come as we go through this evening and through the start of the night. There
00:56could be a few pockets of mist and fog developing, and some places are going to be quite cloudy.
01:01There looks like there'll be some cloud drifting in from the North Sea at times, and also across
01:04parts of Northern Ireland. Elsewhere, a largely clear picture for many of us. One thing we
01:10can't rule out is there may be some thunderstorms kicking off in the south. I think these are
01:15quite unlikely. At the moment, most likely that it will stay completely dry, but it's
01:19just not out of the question that we see some of these developing as we go through the night.
01:24It is going to be another warm night, a difficult sticky night for sleeping for some of us.
01:28High humidity keeping temperatures in the high teens across parts of the south. It could
01:33be a tropical night, though I think more likely to be a tropical night later on this week.
01:38Towards the northwest of the UK, something quite a bit fresher. A relatively cool night
01:42here with temperatures dipping into single figures, especially away from the towns and
01:47cities. Wednesday then does look like another fine sunny day. Yes, there is going to be
01:51some cloud around, like I said, North Sea coastal parts, but a lot of this will burn
01:55back for a time. Northern Ireland's looking relatively cloudy at the moment, but many
02:00places will see a bit more cloud developing into the afternoon, but a lot of fine sunny
02:04weather to be had. There is the risk of some thunderstorms developing, particularly across
02:08southern parts. I think most of them are going to stay out over France, but just do be aware
02:13that we could see some thundery downpours developing as we go through Wednesday. Temperatures
02:18maybe not quite as high as on through today. Highs around 31, possibly 32 Celsius towards
02:25the south-southeast. It's not quite as hot, but still hot and humid for many places. Bit
02:31more comfortable perhaps further north. High teens, low 20s at best here. As we go through
02:37the end of the day on Wednesday, there is the risk then of some thunderstorms pushing
02:41their way up from the south, and these are likely to affect more central southern parts
02:45as we go through into Thursday. So do watch out for some thundery breakdown because there
02:51could be some impacts due to those intense thunderstorms with heavy rain and some hail.
02:55The high humidity looks like it will stick around for a while, so we could have some
02:59warm sticky nights through much of this week, especially towards the south. But as we go
03:04towards the end of the week and into the weekend, we're likely to see something coming in from
03:08the Atlantic, and that's going to bring something a bit wetter and also a bit fresher, a bit
03:12more comfortable perhaps. We will of course be keeping you up to date with the forecast
03:16through the next few days, and don't forget our deep dive with Annie will be available
03:20on our YouTube channel later on this afternoon. See you later.
