00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. This weekend it
00:04is all about low pressure. We've got one pretty much sat right across the UK. Various systems
00:10just swirling around this in an anti-clockwise direction, these various occluded frontal
00:15systems. So there we're bringing showers, longer spells of rain at times across various
00:19areas. Some quite blustery showers pushing into southwest England today, some outbreaks
00:24eventually spreading into southeastern northern areas of England, and some rain with some
00:28hill snow mixed into this feature across the far north of Scotland as well. You could
00:32see some brighter spells around at times, particularly for Northern Ireland, parts of
00:34Wales into Devon as well, but a reasonably cloudy day for the vast majority of us. We
00:40are managing to get into double digit figures though for many central southern areas of
00:44England, probably a top temperature of around 12 or 13 degrees Celsius, but still feeling
00:48very cold across the far north of Scotland, but we're holding on to some colder air, but
00:52also some very brisk easterly winds across the far north of the Highlands into the northern
00:57isles as well. We hold on to this fairly messy picture as we head into the evening
01:02and overnight as well, with the showers in the southwest and this rain moving in across
01:06eastern England and eastern Scotland as well. There could be some localised disruption around
01:10considering it has been so wet recently and this is just adding further rainfall on top
01:14of that. A few clearer spells around at times, but that will allow fog to develop throughout
01:18the night as well fairly rapidly, perhaps a patchy frost in a few locations in some
01:23rural spots, but most of our towns and cities will be holding up above freezing for the
01:27night. A pretty unsettled start to Sunday morning then, quite damp across eastern areas,
01:34this band of rain is going to slowly trudge its way northwards, staying very wet though
01:38for parts of eastern Scotland and into the northern isles right throughout the day. Some
01:42of the fog elsewhere will slowly clear its way off, but it is going to take a little
01:46bit of time, staying murky until the early part of the afternoon, but eventually some
01:50brighter spells will develop their way in from the west, with though this continuing
01:54series of showers pushing their way in, some of those could be on the heavier side at times.
01:59Temperatures on Sunday generally range between 7 and 11 degrees celsius, which is pretty
02:03much where we would expect them to be for this time of the year. Those showers will
02:08continue on for a time as we head into the evening, but generally they'll decay away
02:12a touch more, particularly for eastern areas as we head into the latter part of the day,
02:16but they'll always continue on in the north and west, and we hold on to a fairly changeable
02:20theme with further showers and longer spells of rain at times as we head throughout the
02:24forthcoming week as well. So do stay up to date with the forecast, make sure you're subscribing
02:28for those updates, and we'll see you again here very soon. Bye bye.
