00:00Good morning. A drier day today in eastern areas but further west there
00:04will be further showers. We have low pressure dominating the weather scene
00:09and that will continue through much of the weekend. This particularly lively low
00:13brought all the wet weather on this weather front yesterday. It's still
00:17bringing some soggy conditions to Shetland. That'll linger for most of the
00:20day. Gusty winds here and also for Orkney. Elsewhere around the low pressure
00:25we're just spiraling in the showers. So the closer you are to the low the more
00:29frequent the showers are. A wet one for Northern Ireland. There'll be frequent
00:32showers for North Wales, North West England, much of central and southern
00:36Scotland. But the further away you are from the low the better chance of a
00:39drier day. Parts of southern England, the East Midlands, East Anglia may well stay
00:43dry and bright. It's a bit misty and murky to start the day but it should cheer up
00:47through the morning. The brisk breeze helping to clear the cloud away. That
00:52brisk breeze will make it feel a little cooler perhaps than the temperatures
00:55suggest. In particular if you're stuck under the frequent showers over Northern
00:59Ireland, North West England and southern Scotland where the downpours could be
01:03pretty heavy. Even the odd rumble of thunder. But in the south where skies do
01:07brighten we could easily get to 11 or maybe 12 Celsius. As we go through this
01:12evening I think we'll see more wet weather coming in around the low as the
01:16low itself edges in across Northern Ireland, southern Scotland. Some heavy
01:19bursts of rain here and for North West England. A lot of spray and surface water
01:24on the roads. That clears away but look at this another bank of rain comes
01:27marching up from the southwest and again some heavy bursts mixed in with that.
01:31There's brighter colours and the winds will pick up once more too. With this
01:35next area of wet and windy weather well it will be a mild night. But with some
01:41clearer skies across northern Scotland as the winds ease here for a time we
01:45could see some pockets of frost. But the winds won't stay light for long. Another
01:49gusty blustery day on Saturday. A wet start for a good part of England, Wales
01:53and Northern Ireland. The rain will steadily creep into southern Scotland
01:57during the morning and then linger somewhere through the central belt
02:00southern Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England through the day. So
02:03again quite a wet day here. To the north of that we've got a few showers
02:07particularly to the northeast. Something a bit drier to the northwest. And of
02:11course much of the south. Yes a wet start to Saturday. But Saturday afternoon
02:14cheering up quite nicely. Some decent spouts of sunshine. Just a few scattered
02:19showers coming into the southwest. And again those showers zipping along on a
02:22fairly gusty wind. Some of the liveliest winds on Saturday likely in and around
02:27Irish Sea coast and across Northern Ireland. Those winds again just making it
02:32feel a little cooler than these numbers would suggest. But generally it is
02:35turning milder. We could easily get into the teens across the south with a bit of
02:39sunshine on Saturday. But feeling rather cooler than that with that persistent
02:44rain and the gusty winds over central southern Scotland and parts of Northern
02:47Ireland. One over low pressure clears away on Saturday night. But then eyes
02:52down to the southwest. Another low. And this one looking like it could pack a
02:57bit of a punch depending on where it sits. Some of the computer models have it
03:00further north. Some have it further south. That is one to watch for Sunday. But
03:04potentially another spell of wet and windy weather. For more on that you can
