07 November - National weather forecast
Transcript
00:00Hello, and welcome to our latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Sunday will be rather windy, particularly in the north, and though there will be some
00:08scattered showers around, we will see some sunny spells as well.
00:13Looking at the bigger picture, once today's weather front has cleared the south and east,
00:17a temporary ridge of high pressure will build in from the west, bringing a more settled
00:22end to the weekend's weather.
00:25But back to tonight. Cloud and rain will clear the south east, and this will be followed
00:30by showers across the north and west. Across northern and eastern parts of Scotland, winds
00:35will strengthen through this evening and overnight, and for this there is a yellow wind warning
00:40in force.
00:41There will be clear spells around as well tonight, and here we can see temperatures
00:45dropping to 6 or 7.
00:49Showers will continue in the north and west tomorrow, and winds will continue to be strong
00:53particularly across Scotland, though they will ease into the afternoon.
00:56Though it will be mostly cloudy elsewhere, there will be some sunny spells as well, particularly
01:02to the lee of high ground.
01:05Temperatures tomorrow will be a touch cooler than today, with a high of 13 in the south
01:10west.
01:13Into tomorrow afternoon, though showers will fade across the north and west, and we'll
01:17start to see further breaks in the cloud. Across central parts of England into the evening
01:22and overnight, under any clear spells, we could see some localised mist and fog patches
01:26forming.
01:29The outlook is unsettled for some, with some wet and windy weather at times, though it
01:33will remain generally mild.
