00:00Hello and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.

00:03Today will be rather cloudy though milder than yesterday and there will be some rain at times.

00:09There'll be particularly strong winds in the north and this is due to a low pressure system

00:13centred to the northeast of the UK bringing a tightening of those ice bars across northern

00:19and eastern parts of Scotland. The weather fronts associated with this low will sweep

00:24southeastwards through today bringing rain to most parts by tonight. Back to this afternoon

00:31rain will clear northern Ireland and continue across much of Scotland as well as pushing into

00:35northern England and northern parts of Wales. Away from this it'll be mostly dry and cloudy

00:40though there will be some sunny spars at times and in these sunny spars in the south we could

00:45see temperatures reaching 14. It'll feel a touch cooler in the north though particularly in those

00:50strong winds. Tonight that rain will continue to clear southeastwards and behind this we'll

00:56see a scattering of showers and clear spells developing. From this evening there is a wind

01:01warning in force for northern and eastern parts of Scotland. Temperatures tonight will be a touch

01:07cooler than they were last night particularly in those clear spells with a low of seven.

01:13Looking more closely at that wind warning northern and eastern parts of Scotland could

01:17widely see gusts of 60 to 70 miles per hour locally increasing to 80 miles per hour causing

01:23some travel disruption. Elsewhere tomorrow there'll be a scattering of showers in the north

01:29and west and elsewhere will be mostly cloudy with the best of any sunny spells to the lee of high

01:35ground. Temperatures tomorrow will be a touchdown on what we're expecting for today with a high of

01:4213 in the southwest. Now looking at the weather for the start of next week it will be unsettled

01:49for some particularly in the north and west and that windy weather will continue though it will
