00:00Good morning everybody, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press on Thursday, October the 10th.
00:04First of all we have an urgent plea from the Doncaster Police.
00:08They put out a statement yesterday.
00:12They are searching for a missing man with growing concerns for his safety.
00:16He was last seen yesterday.
00:18We know him only as Shane, but police are asking to help,
00:22asking members of the public for help to try and track him down.
00:27He's known to be seen in the Besseker area,
00:31so if you have seen him, please do get in touch with the police.
00:34There is a photo of him on the website,
00:37so please take a look and get in touch if you know of his whereabouts.
00:42Then a report which was embargoed until this morning has come out.
00:47Doncaster Probation Delivery Unit has received an overall rating of inadequate
00:54following an inspection by His Majesty's Inspectorate of Probation.
00:58It is actually the first inspection of this unit since it was established
01:02under the Unification of Probation Services back in 2021.
01:06It makes for an interesting read.
01:08It's not all bad news, but there are some suggestions on how that can improve.
01:15Obviously inadequate needs to be much better for the people of Doncaster.
01:20And then finally, one from the courts.
01:24A former South Yorkshire police officer has pleaded guilty
01:27to a criminal charge relating to misconduct in public office.
01:32The case was heard at Sheffield Crown Court earlier this week.
01:3841-year-old Stuart Trentham has pleaded guilty to an offence of
01:42holder of public office while acting as a police officer.
01:48He is believed to be involved in sending increasingly flirtatious
01:55and sexualised messages to a vulnerable victim.
01:59That case will be ongoing and we will keep you up to date with that
