00:00Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Monday October the 21st.
00:05I hope you've all had a lovely weekend.
00:07I'm just bringing you some of our top headlines this morning.
00:11First of all, something that was put out late on Friday that you might have read over the weekend.
00:17Police are appealing for information following a reported burglary at a property in the Norton area of Doncaster.
00:24Around 2am on Wednesday 9th October it's reported that cash, jewellery and two medals were stolen from a property in Campsville Bolk.
00:36An investigation has since been launched and officers are now releasing images of some of the jewellery stolen during that reported burglary.
00:45If you go online today you can see pictures, there is a bracelet there and a ring which are among the items that have been taken.
00:53So please, if you've seen anybody with these, anybody trying to pass them on, do let the police know.
01:00Then we've got a piece from the Empress Building in Mexborough.
01:04That was the scene of an unforgettable night apparently as footballing legend Kevin Keegan, who of course was born in Doncaster,
01:11he took centre stage in front of a sell-out crowd at the impressive building.
01:18It was called An Evening with Kevin Keegan and it brought fans and guests from across the region together for an intimate and captivating night
01:27as the two-time European Footballer of the Year shared his stories and his extraordinary career and personal life.
01:34There is a video of him chatting to the audience so please go and if you're a football fan it's definitely worth a watch.
01:43He had quite a laugh with the audience from what I can gather.
01:47And then finally, residents of a Doncaster town have voted in favour of adopting a neighbourhood plan as a framework for planning decisions.
01:57Last Thursday, residents of Staves voted to approve the adoption of a neighbourhood plan in a local referendum.
02:07Some 85.7% approved the decision while 14.3% voted against with a turnout of around 9% of the electorate.
02:17A neighbourhood plan is basically a set of documents which establishes a vision for an area as a framework for planning applications and decisions going on into the future.
02:27So you can read more about that and what it involves on the website today.
