00:27in the West Bank.
00:33Hello welcome to From the South, I'm Ana Marrero from the TeleSUR headquarters in Caracas,
00:37Venezuela.
00:38We begin with the news, stay with us.
00:52In Venezuela, President Nicolás Maduro announced the implementation of a new economic law based
00:56on productive engines aimed at BRICS, which represents the economy of the future.
01:02During a meeting with representatives of the national banking, insurance and security sectors
01:08within the framework of the country's economic recovery, the Venezuelan head of state expressed
01:13that the country's economy has been heading towards the pluripolar world of the BRICS
01:18for several years now.
01:20In this sense, the Venezuelan president explained that BRICS have emerged as an alternative
01:25for those free states of the world that seeks an economy independent of the United States
01:32of America.
01:33He also emphasized that the peoples of the world are working on the construction of new
01:38paths and joint mechanisms, and Venezuela is no exception.
01:51For many years, but today more than ever, Venezuela has been oriented towards the BRICS,
01:56technology with the BRICS, markets with the BRICS, fresh market to invest with the BRICS,
02:01safe partnership with the BRICS.
02:03The BRICS is no longer an option.
02:05It has to be a work vocation because it is the world of the future, without disdain for
02:10other worlds.
02:25I have told the North Americans that always come here, that's part of the talks I have
02:29with the US, entrepreneurs that come here, I tell them that the United States will be
02:34there forever.
02:36Not even with artificial intelligence will there be a way to move the United States from
02:40where it is.
02:41And no matter what happens in the years to come, the United States, even though it is
02:45in a process of historical decline as a hegemonic empire, will always be a great power.
03:04And South America and Venezuela will always be here.
03:07There is no way we can move, no way we can push a button and end up being between Africa
03:12and India or Asia, the new world there.
03:16We don't have any other alternative but to respect ourselves, to understand each other,
03:20to build roads together, as independent states, as independent nations.
03:30The permanent representative of Venezuela to the United Nations, Samuel Moncada, presented
03:34evidence before the National Assembly of the interference of the United States against
03:37Venezuela.
03:38The Venezuelan ambassador said that the US government used a false narrative road to
03:45destabilize the Venezuelan people during the July 28 presidential elections.
03:49He also indicated that Washington planned the creation of a Parallel National Electoral
03:55Council to replace the official results.
03:58Moncada pointed out that the US strategy was practiced for 20 years against Venezuela and
04:04applied a recipe of destruction and colonization to the electoral system.
04:15The Honduran president, Yamada Castro, denounced plans to destabilize her government and advised
04:20the armed forces.
04:21Let's listen.
04:22People of Honduras, I want to tell you that a plan is being hatched against my government
04:31and it is important for the people to know it.
04:46Yesterday they attacked the head of the armed forces and the minister of defense in our
04:49country.
05:04Look how serious this is.
05:19An attack that we cannot allow because it undermines the institutionality of the armed
05:23forces.
05:28Honduran head of state promised she would not allow any more coup d'etats in the country.
05:37It puts the upcoming electoral process in a precarious position.
05:48We have already gone through a coup d'etat.
05:50We have already lived what that means, violence, exile, persecutions, human rights violations.
06:11I want to promise the Honduran people that there will be no more coups d'etat.
06:18The government of Honduras terminate the extradition treaty with the United States based on its
06:23constitutional duties of maintaining the peace and internal security of the republic.
06:28In this sense, the minister of foreign affairs, Enrique Reyna, denounced plans to create a
06:33barrack coup d'etat as well as supposed division in the armed forces.
06:39Regarding the declarations of the ambassador of the United States, Laura Dugo, on the relations
06:45of Tegucigalpa with Caracas.
06:47In the midst of these tensions, President Xiomara Castro reaffirmed the unity and stability
06:52of the armed forces.
06:59A barracks coup based on this statement of the ambassador, because she practically accuses
07:04General Roosevelt of being involved in drug trafficking with a person from another country,
07:10and also the minister of defense.
07:12So it is very serious.
07:14The words and the accusations are very serious, even more so since we know the weight that
07:20the words of a diplomatic representative of another country has.
07:24In this context, the Honduran diplomats assert that they will not allow the division of the
07:28armed forces, which are the guardians of the democracy.
07:35The president is right.
07:36We will not allow the armed forces to be divided, nor will we allow conspiracy attempts in the
07:40armed forces because they are precisely the guardians of democracy in this country in
07:44an electoral process due to the powers given to them by the constitution.
07:48So we do see a danger in extradition becoming a political weapon, and that does not stop
07:52us from continuing to cooperate, to encourage our fight against drug trafficking, as the
07:56president has been doing, and to continue working jointly on defense issues with the
07:59United States, on security issues, which in fact we have been doing quite well.
