00:45Hello and welcome to From the South.
00:47My name is Belén de los Santos and I'm from the Tresor Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:51We'll begin with the news.
00:53On Wednesday, the Venezuelan people commemorated one month after the electoral process in the
00:57country and the strengthening of their democracy, the triumph of Nicolás Maduro and the will
01:03of those who want to preserve peace over violence.
01:06Let's see the details.
01:09The Venezuelan people took to the streets to celebrate one month of the electoral triumph
01:14of Nicolás Maduro Moros, who is still in charge of the country.
01:19A month with many political, international and social challenges where the violent events
01:25managed to be placated.
01:29We have come to ratify our vote on July 28 because we voted for Nicolás Maduro and we
01:35want the sovereignty of the people to be respected.
01:38We voted for Nicolás Maduro.
01:39We do not want interference in any country that comes to say Maduro won.
01:44And we are here in defense of our vote.
01:47Respect the vote of the sovereign people of Venezuela.
01:50We have completed one month since the victory of President Nicolás Maduro.
01:54As a young Chavista, a young person who studies, who works well, I am happy that today, as
01:59an organized people, we can march in the streets of Caracas and celebrate the great victory
02:04of all the Venezuelans.
02:06The Venezuelan people are constantly fighting for their sovereignty and against interference,
02:11demanding respect for their internal processes and showing their reality to the world.
02:24I ask the opposition people, the conscious people, the people who truly love their homeland,
02:32who still have family here, to remain calm, to accept that we are a majority and that
02:38we can dialogue.
02:40Because we are a people of peace, we are a people of love, and by talking things can
02:46be solved.
02:50Celebrating in the streets, only we Chavistas know how to do with joy, with enthusiasm,
02:54to keep moving forward, keep moving forward.
02:56Some want to remain in the past, who want to remain in hatred and violence, and who
03:00want to remain stagnant.
03:02We will continue moving forward.
03:04The country is not going to stop, on the contrary, the country is going to redouble its march
03:08to keep moving forward.
03:10They also celebrate Venezuelan democracy.
03:12The July 28th process was followed by a couple of days ago by a national congregation of
03:19the Popular Bases, an ever-deepening democracy.
03:24Because the people are getting organized, the popular power is getting organized to
03:29generate the changes that need to be generated.
03:31That is why the people are happy, the people are in the streets, and the next six years
03:35are going to be very victorious.
03:38Hugo Rafael Chavez raised a conscience in us, where his people understand that we have
03:43problems, but we are going to solve them among Venezuelans.
03:47We cannot leave our problems to someone else to solve them.
03:50We are the ones who are called to solve the problems of Venezuela.
03:54Venezuela is a country of peace, and we are fighting for the peace we want.
03:58And Venezuela deserves peace.
04:01During the last four weeks, the march ended at the Miraflores Palace, where it was received
04:06by the President Nicolás Maduro Moros, who celebrated the triumph of peace and joy in
04:11Venezuela.

04:22The concentration took place in the east of Caracas, specifically in the municipality
04:26of Chacao.
04:28Aerial images show low participation of the activity by the far-right opposition leader,
04:33María Corina Machado.
04:35Low turnout has been a constant throughout the calls for mobilization made by the extreme
04:39right, as the sector continues to ignore public authorities of the country, as well as the
04:45official results of the presidential elections of July 28th.
04:54The Venezuelan Public Prosecutor's Office will issue a third summon to former opposition
04:58presidential candidate Edmundo González for the alleged commission of several crimes.
05:04Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab, in declarations to the press in Caracas,
05:08indicated this Wednesday that a third summon would be issued.
05:12In case of his absence, the public ministry, in due time, would announce the corresponding
05:16actions to be taken in accordance with the law.
05:19The official specified that, according to the jurisprudence of the criminal chamber,
05:24a person may be summoned up to three times.
05:28In the case of González, the summon is for him to testify in a process against him, already
05:33in progress, for alleged crimes and also for the disobedience of the law.
05:44On Thursday, President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro thanked King Abdullah II, bin al-Hussein,
05:50and the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for their congratulations on his

06:23for benefiting the mutual breakthrough of the peoples.
06:32And the president of Honduras, Yomara Castro, ordered on Wednesday the termination of the
06:36extradition treaty with the United States in retaliation to statements made by U.S. Ambassador
06:41Laura Dogu, in which she criticized the Honduran government's relationship with Nicolás Maduro's
06:47government.
06:48The president said in her profile on Social Network X that the interference and interventionism
06:54of the United States, as well as its intention to direct the political, the politics of Honduras
07:01through its embassy and other representatives, is unacceptable, as well as attacking, ignoring
07:07and violating with impunity the principles and practices of international law, which
07:12promote respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of the peoples, non-intervention and universal
07:18peace.
07:23For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Honduras, Enrique Reyna, communicated through
07:28Social Network X the denunciation to the government of the United States of the extradition
07:34treaty between the two nations.

07:51as established in the United Nations Charter.

08:50appoint a legal representative for X if he is not willing the immediate suspension of
08:57the platform.
08:59The ruling comes after X, on August 17th, justified the closure of its Brazilian offices
09:05on the basis of allegations against Minister de Moraes, who is in charge of the case.

11:25of President Javier Milley, decided on Wednesday to expel one of its members due to irreconcilable
11:31political differences.
11:33It was the ruling party's legislator for the province of Formosa, Francisco Paul Troni,

20:29of Deir Ezzor and Hasakeh and in the city of Qamishli.
20:34He also stated that there is no legal basis for such a U.S. military presence without

20:45both conventional and customary.
20:53We go to other topics.
