00:36Hello, welcome to From the South, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Televisual Studios in Havana,
00:43Cuba.
00:44We begin with the news.

01:19The first act to be assumed by the Venezuelan legislature after this installation will be
01:22to swear in President Nicolás Maduro on January 10, following his victory in the
01:27elections of July 28, 2024.
01:38Nicolás Maduro Moros, Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
01:45Your office.
01:47Dear President, Please accept my warmest greetings.
01:50It is a pleasure to address you on this occasion to reiterate the invitation for you, as the
01:56presidential candidate elected on July 28, 2024, to take possession and duly swear in
02:03the office of President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the constitutional
02:09period 2025-2031.
02:14Are you going to tell him when?
02:19January 10, 2025, at 12 noon.
02:24President of the National Assembly, Jorge RodrĂguez, affirmed that any foreigner invader
02:27that pretends to enter the Venezuelan territory illegally will be treated as a criminal.
02:39If a foreigner enters the territory of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela without the
02:45proper authorization of the institutions properly qualified for this, that will be
02:50considered as an act of invasion, and as invaders any foreigner who tries to illegally enter
02:55the territory of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela will be treated as an invader.
03:01Venezuela is respected.
03:04We are respectful of international law.
03:08A Venezuelan authority supervised the executive deployment for the January 10 inauguration
03:14of President Nicolás Maduro for the 2025-2031 term.
03:18Despite being a routine operation that is part of the protocols of important political
03:21events for the country, sectors of the far opposition tried to distort it.
03:26However, as explained by the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello,
03:30it is an obligation of the State to guarantee the security and peace of all citizens in
03:34the country.
03:35During a supervisory tour of the capital, Caracas, the minister in charge of internal
03:39security ratified that it is a routine operation that also takes into account the presence
03:43of foreign guests.
03:52Today, Saturday, January 4th of this beautiful 2025, we started walking around downtown Caracas,
03:58checking and organizing checkpoints, following up the security devices because Venezuela
04:03is celebrating.
04:04Venezuela is celebrating on January 10th.
04:17We are going to the swearing in of President Nicolás Maduro and international guests are
04:22coming to our country.
04:24We have to guarantee security at all costs for this event.
04:27Some people from the opposition get nervous when they see the police forces, when they
04:30see the military forces in the streets.
04:32They have reasons to get nervous.
04:45We are here to guarantee the peace of all Venezuelans and all independent Venezuelans.
04:50Leave your nerves.
04:51This is very normal.
04:52This is very normal.
04:53The guarantee of peace is the responsibility of the national government, but it is the
04:56responsibility of all Venezuelan men and women.
04:59Here we go in this first review of the year 2025.
05:05Members of the Argentinian chapter of the Anti-Fascist International gathered in Buenos
05:10Aires to reject the meeting of Venezuelan far-right politician Edmundo González with
05:15President Javier Melea at the Argentine government house.
05:18In front of the SimĂłn BolĂvar monument in Buenos Aires, participants demanded the government
05:22of Argentina to respect the Venezuelan institutions and the decisions of the people that should
05:26like to negate during the democratic elections.
05:29They also expressed their support for the Venezuelan people under President Nicolás
05:36Maduro in the face of threats from the fascist far-right, while calling for non-interference
05:41and respect for their sovereignty.
05:49Well, it seems to me that it has to do with the decision of the Argentinian chapter of
05:52the Anti-Fascist International, that in the framework of the illegal visit of Edmundo
05:57González to the Casa Rosada, we make an act of presence, we repudiate the Argentine
06:02people do not want it.
06:07We are against the interference, the imperialist interference in Venezuela, and of course against
06:12any hint of authoritarianism and fascism that is growing in Latin America.
06:22We have come here to repudiate their presence, and this is a way of expressing our solidarity
06:26with President Nicolás Maduro, the true winner of the democratic elections that the people
06:30of Venezuela carried out.
06:40And on the other hand, we have come to express our support to all the countries that are
06:44suffering from measures, sanctions or unilateral coercive measures, as Venezuela is suffering,
06:49as in the case of Nicaragua, Cuba and other countries in the world.
06:53So it seems to us that this demonstration that we are making today comes to continue
06:57with this mandate of solidarity with the Bolivarian revolution, and to repudiate the presence of
07:01this subject.

07:25Mexico's President Clara Sheinbaum has once again raised her voice in defense of Mexican
07:30migrants.
07:31While from the United States prejudicial accusations against all migrants are growing, the Mexican
07:35president reminded them that much of their wealth is a product of the honest work of
07:39Mexican migrants.
07:40The president assured that all Mexicans who are in the neighboring country work with great
07:44effort, demanding that they be respected.
07:47She said this during an event in Hidalgo, where she also declared that Mexican migrants
07:51have also been a great help for the development of the national economy, and declared them
07:55heroes and heroines.
08:04Heroes and heroines who sought to make a living elsewhere, and who this year?
08:10Just look at the fact that they sent back to Mexico and their families close to 65 billion
08:15dollars in remittances, the highest income in dollars that our country has ever had.
08:22So all we have to do is thank them and tell our countrymen that they are in our minds
08:28and in our hearts, and that we will always defend them, because we Mexicans are a hard
08:34working people who work here in Mexico, and also in the United States, who help each other
08:40and help each other.
08:41And we will always defend them, because we Mexicans are a hard working people who work
08:47here in Mexico, and also in the United States, who help the national economy, but also help
08:53the economy of the United States.
08:55That they are heroes and heroines of the country, and that Mexicans deserve respect, here in
09:01Mexico, and there in the United States, and anywhere in the world.
09:10In other news, in Ethiopia, evacuations of citizens continue in the northeast of the
09:13country after an activity in the volcano of Mount Tofan.
09:17According to risk management, steam eruptions have been reported at the volcano since Thursday,
09:22causing cracks in the main roads and damage to various residential infrastructures.
09:26Experts assure that the steam emissions do not necessarily lead to volcanic eruptions,
09:31but authorities issue an evacuation order for the inhabitants of the adjacent areas.
09:35It's a precautionary measure.

10:32of the training center, which houses the world's only full-scale reactor-hull simulator.
10:37They also stated that the attack did not cause any damage or injuries.
10:40The plant denounced these Ukrainian actions as a direct violation of the principles of
10:44nuclear safety and security for the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant established by the International
10:49Atomic Energy Agency at the United Nations Security Council.
