00:57In Venezuela, representatives of the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez Foundation opened a
01:02hall in homage to the first meeting between Hugo Chávez FrĂas and the leader of the
01:06Cuban revolution Fidel Castro Ruz.
01:08The ceremony took place within the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary
01:14of this historical moment.
01:16On the same occasion, the newspaper La Esperanza está en la calle was presented, which gathers
01:21hundreds of local and national press clippings from 1994 on Commander Hugo Chávez.
01:27This election is the result of an extensive research carried out by historian Lucas Koerner,
01:33who highlighted the love of the Venezuelan people for Commander Chávez and stressed
01:38the importance of keeping his memory alive to strengthen and expand the Bolivarian revolution

01:51The commemoration of the death of the liberator brings us together first, and in the framework

02:06That first embrace between Commander Chávez and Commander Fidel Castro, and to pay tribute
02:11to a moment that was decisive for what was to be later the course of the history of our
02:15America today, we open the doors of a small but emotional room called the First Embrace
02:20and is dedicated to the love relationship between Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro that
02:24begins with that embrace.

03:12The commemorative act was attended by the diplomatic representation of Venezuela, accredited
03:17in Colombia, members of the Advisory Commission of Foreign Relations and of the National Congress.
03:23Likewise, authorities commemorated the legacy of the liberator with a floral tribute, remembering
03:29also his influence in the unity and integration of Latin America, which brought justice, emancipation
03:35and self-determination to the peoples.
03:37In this sense, participants highlighted the important role played by Venezuela in the
03:42peace of the Colombian country and made a call to abandon the polarization that separates
03:47the sister nations.
03:54Venezuela has played a very important role historically.
03:57This is not of today.
03:59Venezuela has accompanied many attempts at peace since practically the 90s and has always
04:02been very firm.
04:03It has played a fundamental role today as guarantor at the dialogue table in good times
04:08and in bad, in crises and when things are going well.
04:12So all our gratitude to this place, to this commitment and to this vocation for peace.
04:22That is why I call on us to leave ideological polarization aside, to understand that the
04:28relationship between countries is not managed by governments but by states.
04:32That is why they are permanent.
04:34That is why in some way they have no ideological sign or political color, nor do they obey
04:42any tribe.
04:43So that the invitation we make from here in the Quinta de Bolivar, as we call it in Bogota,
04:48to look for the things that unite us and work on a special relationship between Colombia
04:53and Venezuela.
04:59Also in Bolivia, the Chamber of Deputies commemorated the 194th anniversary of the
05:04passing to immortality of the liberator SimĂłn BolĂvar.
05:07Through the legislator Gloria Calleja, Secretary of the Committee of Ordinary Jurisdiction,
05:13the country paid homage with floral offerings highlighting the legacy of unity and struggle
05:18for independence left by the liberator BolĂvar in the Latin American peoples.
05:24The organization of the event was carried out by the Embassy of Venezuela in the country
05:28with the presence of military and police authorities as well as diplomatic representatives and
05:33other authorities.
05:39In Panama, the Manuel E. Amador Art Gallery presents, as it does every year, the annual
05:44exhibition in homage to the victims of the United States invasion of the country on December
05:4920, 1989.
05:51The art gallery annually holds between 14 and 16 exhibitions dedicated to commemorating
05:57the U.S. invasion in addition to paying tribute to the victims of this aggression.
06:02This year's exhibition includes, for the first time, images presented by the December
06:0720 Commission on the Exhumations carried out in 2020 and 2021 to try to find the bodies
06:13of the disappeared, who are presumed to have been buried in mass graves of the invading
06:19army.
06:20The gallery celebrates 30 years of management making these exhibitions in tribute to the
06:24fallen at the hands of the U.S. government.

06:53The Ecuadorian court will resume Wednesday the case on the sanction imposed by the Ministry
06:57of Labour against the Vice President Veronica Abad after having suspended the hearing four
07:02times.
07:03If the court ruled out in favour of Abad, the sanction against her would be abrogated,
07:09which has deprived her from duty for 150 days, earning no wages.
07:14In this regard, analysts described such a harassing measure as illegal, grounded in
07:19the view that the Ecuadorian parliament is the only authority to suspend or sanction
07:24Veronica Abad.
07:25They further considered that such decision of the executive aims at preventing Abad from
07:31office due to the fact that the current head of state, Daniel Noboa, expressed his intention
07:35to be re-elected, so he would have to enable her as the interim president during his electoral
07:41campaign.
07:47The 22nd edition of the series of conversations Cuba in U.S. foreign policy was held in Havana.

11:04is committing urban massacres in Gaza.
11:07The organization denounces that the tactics employed in Gaza by Israeli troops, ranging
11:13from aerial bombardment, robot explosives and bulldozers demolishing residents, have
11:18reduced entire towns in the Palestinian enclave to rubble.
11:22Havalia, Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun in the north of the Strip have been completely razed
11:28to the ground.
11:29The agency asserts that what Israel is trying to do is to erase the Palestinian material
11:34and cultural presence, thus reiterating a clear violation of international law.
11:44The United Nations Security Council called for an inclusive political process in Syria
11:49and respect for the country's sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity.
11:54The organization advocates that Syrians themselves should control the process.
11:59United Nations Special Envoy Gayle Pedersen urged action against terrorism, a striking
12:04issue considering that several member countries are in talks with a self-proclaimed leader
12:09registered as a global terrorist.
12:11China, Russia and Iran reiterated the importance of abiding by all Council resolutions, the
12:181974 agreements and support for the United Nations force to observe the disengagement

12:29The Arab League again called for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its

12:39The call was made during a meeting in the capital, Cairo, with a delegation of the Foreign
12:44Affairs and Defence Committee of the French Senate.
12:48The Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stressed the importance
12:53that the Arab world attaches to the French recognition of the Palestinian state within
12:58the borders of June 1967.
13:01The official affirmed that the creation of a Palestinian state will bring peace based
13:05on justice and dignity.

13:41The Iranian government warned of responding firmly in case the West decides to apply the
13:46snapback mechanism again.
13:49The snapback mechanism, created in 2015 within the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, JCPOA,
13:56enabled the United Nations to impose sanctions against Iran if it violates its nuclear commitments.
14:02In this regard, Amirzadeh Iravani, representative of Iran to the United Nations, assured that
14:08pursuing such aggressive policy will trigger a steadfast response.
14:12Likewise, the diplomat argued that the European troika's unfounded allegations are based
14:18on political interests.
14:20Moreover, Iravani reaffirmed his nation's everlasting commitment to continued cooperation
14:26with the International Atomic Energy Agency, noting that Iran has always harnessed nuclear
14:31energy for strictly peaceful purposes.
14:36I make it clear once and for all, the so-called snapback mechanism is not a tool in their
14:44hands that they can use to threaten Iran.
14:47Tehran has clearly stated that a very provocative action will be met with a decisive and proportionate

14:55In Ethiopia, people across several towns and villages in the Amhara region demonstrate

15:03Students, religious parents, the elderly, public and government officials took to the
15:08streets carrying posters with messages in defence of stability.
15:12Those mobilised denounced that the recurrent security problems greatly hindered development
15:17efforts in the area and demanded a return to total normality.
15:22The Ethiopian Council of Ministers declared a state of emergency in Amhara from early
15:27August 2023 to control the armed conflict between regional forces and armed groups to
15:33ensure peace.
15:34However, clashes continue.
15:40The Russian government condemns the support of the Ukrainian regime to various terrorist
15:45organisations in the Sahel region.
15:47Russian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov points out that the Ukrainian support
15:53to terrorist groups represents a greater risk for the people of the Sahel region in Africa.
15:58Gerasimov said that CAIF is conducting terrorist training using unmanned aerial vehicles, along
16:05with subversive practices against civilians.
16:08The Chief of Staff warns that the West continues to adopt neo-colonialist approaches, considering
16:14the African continent only as a source of strategic raw materials.
16:23The Azerbaijani government denounced establishment of a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation infrastructure
16:28on its borders with Armenia.
16:30President Ilham Aliyev said that NATO, under the pretext of being European Union observers,
16:36created its base in the border area.
16:39He also pointed out that the sending of observers to the border had been jointly agreed with
16:44the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, the President of the European Council, Charles
16:49Michael, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, in 2022, but it was to be a limited
16:55contingent.
16:56The head of state noted that, over time, the number of European Union observers increased
17:01to more than 200 people.
17:07In China, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Yan condemned the statements made by some

19:45Among the figures are statues of the deities Uma, Shiva, and Vishnu, as well as sculptures
19:49of Buddha with various designs, some of them made between the 12th and 13th centuries.
19:54Horses, warriors, women and even bronze peacocks are presented to the Dutch public.
19:59It's very rare to have objects of this status within exhibitions, even in Europe among the
20:08big galleries.
20:09Normally, to see something of this quality, you have to go to Thailand itself and to the
20:15country of origin.
20:18So this, for me personally, as a curator of Southeast Asia, is a massively important image.
20:27One of the most striking pieces in this exhibition at the National Museum in Amsterdam is a small
20:32bronze depicting a standing woman, which some call a dancing girl, from Pakistan and dating
20:37from between 2500 and 1500 BC.
20:40Next to it, another striking artifact is an anthropomorphic figure, a small flat statue
20:45from the Ganges Valley in India, estimated to have been crafted between 1500 and 1000 BC.
