00:42at Al-Tayben school and mosque.
00:51Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Alejandra Garcia from Telesur Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:57Venezuela denounces before the United Nations a massive cyber attack against the country
01:01as part of a destabilization operation.
01:04During the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, Venezuela's alternate ambassador
01:10to the United Nations, Joaquin Perez, stated that crimes have been perpetrated through
01:15information and communication technologies aimed at meddling in destabilizing and promoting
01:20coup d'etats.
01:22He further pointed out that these so-called cyber crimes are used in a criminal manner
01:27to advance disinformation campaigns.
01:30The diplomat also indicated that Venezuela, in addition to its electoral system, has also
01:35received cyber attacks against the national electricity system and other strategic sectors,
01:41including the oil and gas industry.
01:48In Venezuela, the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Carizlia RodrĂguez, announced
01:53that only 33 of 38 political parties presented the required electoral material.
02:02In accordance with the referred subpoena, the 38 political parties involved appeared
02:08before the court in a timely manner.
02:1133 of them submitted the required electoral material.
02:18In this context, the People's Party of Panama rejected the extreme right against
02:25the constitutional government of President Nicolás Maduro.
02:29In this sense, through a press release, they affirmed that they will support the will of
02:33the Venezuelan people as the absolute majority cast their votes for re-electing President
02:38Nicolás Maduro on July 28.
02:40The People's Party of Panama noted that US imperialism used all elements of cognitive
02:45and political warfare on the mass media, including social networks, to confuse not
02:51only the Venezuelan population but also many people overseas, who believed in their version.
02:56Furthermore, the far-right opposition did not wait for any bulletins of the National
03:01Electoral Council, so acting out as rabid dogs, they claimed a fraud in order to stir
03:07up a fraction of the population by using tricks and bribes, generating chaos as they intend
03:15to go back to pass Guarimba's uprisings, which has not worked out, but they continue
03:20to consider that strategy as suitable.
03:23The party further stated that they never showed their alleged tally sheets that led them to
03:29the alleged triumph, and all after the failed and uncovered coup attempt of MarĂa Corina
03:34Machado and Edmundo González Urrutia, they ran for asylum, proving they were not interested
03:40in any electoral result but in generating chaos and unrest among the Venezuelan population.
03:46Thus they tried to find a pretext for organizations such as the OS, which has had a nefarious
03:52performance against all progressive governments, to convene meetings with the intention of
03:57condemning the elected government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and isolate it from
04:03the rest of the nations worldwide.
04:05The party asserted, meanwhile, the government's submissive to US imperialism, those still
04:11on the colonization ship, did not waste time in condemning the new government and demanding
04:17votes recounted as a clear proof of meddling in the internal affairs of a foreign nation.
04:23For example, the brand new president of our country, José Raúl Molina, who now claims
04:27to be concerned over Venezuelan migration, when one of his first measures was the siege
04:34he imposed on migrants taking the Darién Gap route.
04:43The Cuban government denied on Saturday in an official communiqué the allegations of
04:47its involvement in modifying the results of the presidential elections held in the country
04:52on July 28.
04:53They stated four main points.
04:55First, it is absolutely false that specialists in computer science or any other area would
05:01have traveled from Cuba to Venezuela with the purpose of modifying the results of the
05:05presidential elections in that country.
05:08Second, this unfounded and fabricated accusation by the former high Colombian official Francisco
05:14Santos is not accompanied by evidence because it does not exist.
05:18Third, the promoter of this lie is known for his active participation in misinterpretation
05:24campaigns and for his involvement in several political scandals.
05:28In December 2021, he invented that the commander of a Colombian armed guerrilla group, Ivan
05:34Marquez, would be in Cuba, which was fatally denied by reality.
05:38Last, the politically motivated construction of a matrix of lies that attributes to Cuba
05:44responsibilities in the results achieved by the contenders in the elections in Venezuela
05:48is assumed as a truth by those who traditionally participate in the campaigns of misrepresentations
05:54about Cuba.
05:59In Colombia, 40 of the 98 military personnel held in the community of San José de Guaviare
06:06were freed.
06:08The kidnapped soldiers belong to the Joint Task Force Omega, which has expressed its
06:12concern and urged the release of the soldiers who have been held captive since last Friday.
06:18The first medical report indicated that the first released prisoners were in good health,
06:23although they were transferred to a battalion for a more exhaustive physical and mental
06:27examination.
06:29The National Army declared that it is working with the Public Prosecutor's Office to secure
06:33the release of the 58 remaining soldiers, at the same time that it holds meetings and
06:38security councils in the area to take action on what happened.
06:43The President of Ecuador, Daniel Novoa, who took office in November, informed on Friday
06:56that he will seek re-election for the presidential elections of February 2025 and announced his
07:01running for presidential candidate.
07:04Novoa made the announcement on his candidacy during the convention of his political movement
07:09National Democratic Action, six days after the beginning of the period set by the National
07:14Electoral Council for organizations to internally define their candidacies.
07:19They will be able to officially register before the electoral body between September 12 and
07:24October 2.
07:25At the convention, the President announced current official María José Pinto will accompany
07:30him as the vice presidential candidate.

07:58The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers, Margaret
08:03Statterwhite, warned of inequalities in access to justice in Chile.
08:08On her two-week visit to the country, the rapporteur alerted to the existence of a justice
08:13gap that splits the rich and the poor.
08:16Thus, legal services provided depend on citizens' social class, economic means and connections.
08:22Likewise, the authority noted that while the wealthy benefit from a system that allows
08:27them to expedite their cases to avoid convictions, the underprivileged find themselves embroiled
08:33in cumbersome procedures and receive harsher sentences.
08:37Statterwhite underscored that this difference is intertwined with the discrimination that
08:43hinders the fair assistance of communities of indigenous peoples, migrants and Afro-descendants.
08:55On Saturday, Peruvian justice confirms annulment of former President Alberto Fujimori's indictment
09:00for forced sterilizations.
09:02A Peruvian court dismissed the legal case against Fujimori, who between 1990 and 2000
09:07ordered the execution of forced sterilizations on nearly 200,000 poor and indigenous women.
09:13The decision to dismiss this case came one day after the approval of Law 3217, known
09:21as the Amnesty Law, which de facto decreased the proscription of war crimes and crimes
09:26against humanity committed before June 1, 2002.
09:30Experts clarified that the decision does not prohibit the refiling of the indictment,
09:35but only annuls the opening order of the investigation of the case and returns it to the filing station.
09:41Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova today called on the United Nations
10:01to condemn the terror unleashed by Ukraine with an armed incursion into Kursk province.
10:06Moskalkova assured that thousands of civilians have been affected by the brutal attack of
10:11the Ukrainian armed forces on the Kursk province and assured she expects this information to
10:16be included in the upcoming report of the United Nations Human Rights Office.

10:28and indiscriminate shelling, particularly against civilian facilities.

10:37occupy territories in Kursk province.
10:46The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko ordered to strengthen gathering troops on
10:51the border with Ukraine in response to the lately Kyiv attempt to attack.
10:56The government underscored that Kyiv is worsening the crisis in the region, therefore no provocation
11:02will go unanswered.
11:04Because of what happened, special operations ground and missile forces, including Polonaise
11:09multiple rocket launcher systems and Iskander complexes, were sent to designated areas to
11:15prevent any possible attack.
11:17Two days ago, a group of drones launched from Ukraine reportedly crossed the border with
11:22Belarus, so the country's air defense systems brought them down.
11:32Tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to escalate.
11:36On Sunday, the interim government of the Russian Kursk region confirmed at least 13 wounded,
11:42while the Ukrainian authorities reported 2 dead in Kyiv.
11:45In this regard, Governor Alexei Smirnov explained that 13 people were wounded as a result of
11:51the fall of the Ukrainian missile in a residential area, at least two of those wounded are in
11:56serious conditions.
11:58The attack, described by Smirnov as a terrorist advance, also caused a fire which has already
12:03been extinguished by the firefighting units which formed the 12 emergency teams which
12:09attended the situation.
12:11Regional authorities in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, confirmed two deaths after a Russian
12:16attack without giving any details.
12:23The government of Serbia received information from Russia about preparations for a coup
12:27d'etat in the country.
12:29President Alexander Vucic released the information noting Russia alerted him to the preparations
12:35for riots and a potential coup d'etat.
12:37The head of state pointed out that those fantasizing about doing something by force will not reach
12:43their common dreams.
12:46Russia is moving forward tirelessly and will never be stopped, he concluded.
12:50Currently, the Security Information Agency, main intelligence entity of the Republic,
12:56is working with the information provided by Russia.
12:59Previously, the police reportedly arrested four masterminds who were planning to generate
13:04violence and riots in Belgrade.
13:16In Niger, the Civil Protection Directorate reported that at least 94 people have died
13:27due to severe floods caused by the rainy season that started two months ago in the African
13:32country.
13:33The agency reported that there are at least 135,156 people affected, representing approximately
13:4217,000 households in the Tifa, Maradi and Sinde regions.
13:47As a result, thousands of homes have been destroyed, while authorities are expressing
13:51concern about the outbreak of a humanitarian crisis because crops have also been severely
13:57affected.
13:58The meteorological agencies warn about a new wave of storms that would be arriving during
14:03the course of the week and urge the population to be vigilant in a spirit of solidarity and
14:08collective responsibility.
14:15In Sudan, torrential rains affected more than 70,000 citizens who have been forced to leave
14:20their homes in the last few days.
14:22In this context, approximately 73,000 people have been victims of the climatic disaster
14:28that has hit 18 states in the region amid the armed conflict that is being waged in
14:33this African country.
14:35The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs estimated that the
14:39number of people affected is 73,183, while the number of displaced people exceeds 21,000.

15:50On Sunday, the Israeli government renewed a ban on Al Mayadeen media network, including
15:55the seizure of its equipment and blockade of its websites.
15:58The measure was enforced after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, along with the Knesset,
16:03approved the proposal of the head of communications, Shlomo Karay.
16:08Earlier, Israeli authorities had labelled Al Mayadeen as a threat to the security of
16:12Israel and described its journalists as terrorists.
16:15The occupied regime went against the network that it has been covering since the Al-Aqsa
16:22flood until nowadays, not only the Israeli genocide in Gaza, but also Israeli attacks
16:27on the West Bank and occupied Al-Quds.
16:30Therefore, reporters from Al Mayadeen had been persecuted and even killed, as the media
16:35network supports Lebanese Hezbollah and the Hamas-Palestinian resistance movement.
16:45After the Israeli decision became known, the pan-Arab needs network Al Mayadeen reported
16:50in a communique.
16:51The decision of the Israeli government and its president evidences the structural choice
16:56of the Israeli occupation in confronting the press.
16:59The Israeli occupation reveals its hostile face towards free professional media committed
17:05to human issues.
17:06Al Mayadeen will not submit to blackmail or pressure, no matter the size or scope of its
17:12influence.
17:13The media calls on free Arabs and the world to express their rejection of the systematic
17:19and ongoing policies of the Israeli occupation against the press.
17:23In Palestine, the Ministry of Health has confirmed that nearly 500 health personnel have been

17:40130 ambulances have been destroyed by Israeli occupation forces in Gaza.
17:46Health centers and their staff in Gaza have been evacuated.
17:50Health centers and their staff in the West Bank have suffered more than 340 Israeli attacks
17:56during the same period.
17:58The ministry noted that deliberate attacks by Israeli occupation forces on medical infrastructure
18:04have severely hampered citizens' access to essential health services.
18:08The worsening conditions related to water and sanitation have led to an increase in
18:13preventable diseases and premature deaths.
18:20Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of arrests in the West Bank on Saturday night
18:26and Sundays early this morning, detaining 16 Palestinians, including former prisoners.
18:32The Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Former Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian
18:37Prisoner Society said the arrests took place in several governorates, including Jerusalem,
18:43Hebron, Jenin, Kalkiya and Nablus.
18:46The raids involved violence and intimidation as the detainees and their families were subjected
18:51to threats and their homes were severely damaged.
18:54Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, more
18:59than 10,000 Palestinians have been detained in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
19:09According to the Civil Defense of Gaza, there were several international condemns after
19:14the recent Israeli massacre at the Al-Taibin School and Mosque.

19:22The Palestinian Presidency asserted that the U.S. administration bears responsibility
19:27because of the military, financial and political support given to the occupiers.
19:32The spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeine, stressed in a statement that the U.S. administration
19:38must end the blind support that has left thousands of children,
19:42women and senior citizens dead.
19:44Some of the governments that pronounced themselves against this unfortunate event
19:49were Cuba, Venezuela and Russia.
19:56Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a meeting in Istanbul with the sons of recently
20:01assassinated Hamas leaders Ismail Haniye.
20:04During the meeting, the Turkish head of state expressed to Abdel Salam and Haman Haniye
20:10his condolences for the death of their father on July 31st.
20:15The meeting was also attended by the head of the Turkish intelligence organization
20:19and the chief advisor to the president.
20:22Haniye, whose assassination has not been acknowledged by Israel,
20:26was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president,
20:30Massoud Pashinyan, when he was assassinated.
