00:00The government of Venezuela confirmed there are no members of the extinct Trenta Agua
00:18criminal organization among the 238 migrants deported from the United States to El Salvador.
00:26And in Panama, government authorities repressed teachers who were demonstrating against the
00:30Social Security Fund reform.
00:38Israeli occupation forces have mounted incursions into three key areas of the Gaza Strip as
00:42part of their ethnic cleansing plan to wipe Palestinians off the map.
00:51Hello, welcome to From the South, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Eterso Studios in Caracas,
00:55Venezuela.
00:56We begin with the news, stay with us.
01:12The government of Venezuela confirmed there are no members of the extinct Trenta Agua
01:16criminal organization among the 238 migrants deported from the United States to El Salvador.
01:22The Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, informed so
01:26during the program Sin Truco Ni Mañas.
01:29Cabello unveiled that national security forces compared an unofficial list of the names of
01:34the deported with an organizational chart relating members of the extinct Trenta Agua
01:40group and similar criminal organizations.
01:42Furthermore, the minister assured that the United States is using the neutralized criminal
01:46organization to stigmatize Venezuelan migrants.
01:50In this context, Cabello also criticized the actions of Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele,
01:55describing him as a tool of imperialism.
02:03Here we have not received anyone from the Aragua train.
02:06They kept saying they are from the Aragua train.
02:11It is not true, it is not true, and I must say it responsibly.
02:18Yesterday a list of Venezuelans that in theory are in El Salvador came out.
02:24We also have, because we have been doing that work, we have been updating it, we have the
02:29organization chart of the criminal groups, of what is left of them, because we have hit
02:33them hard right and left.
02:38Investigations revealed contradictions in statements made by the government of El Salvador
02:42regarding the deported Venezuelan migrants.
02:45The research unveiled that at least one of every five kidnapped Venezuelans are irregular
02:49migrants and not people linked to the extinct Trenta Agua criminal group, as both the Salvadoran
02:55and the U.S. President have claimed.
02:57The source further explained that the security cabinet of the Salvadoran government believes
03:02there are some 50 innocent people among the over 230 kidnapped Venezuelans.
03:06In addition, the study assured that the Bukele administration supposedly promised to review
03:11each case of the foreign nationals and to grant an alleged differentiated treatment.
03:23The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela issued a statement to reject
03:27the ridiculous sanctions of the colonial government of Canada.
03:31The statement indicates that Venezuela strongly rejects the new and useless sanctions imposed
03:35by the colonial government of Canada against Venezuelan officials in a pitiful attempt
03:39to please the orders issued from its metropolis in Washington.
03:43In an act of shameful submission, they have decided to act as a mere executor of the aggravation
03:49plan in the U.S., confirming what is already evident.
03:53It has ceased to be a sovereign country to become the 51st state without its own voice
03:58and with diplomacy dictated from the White House.
04:02The text also states that this colony, with the pretensions of an empire, has fallen into
04:07absolute ridicule by pursuing a hostile agenda against Venezuela.
04:11Its lack of personality and political dignity has reduced it to a mere instrument of useless
04:16sanctions aimed at pleasing the interests of others, regardless of the contempt of the
04:21foreign sovereign peoples of the world.
04:23The statement concludes by emphasizing that the Bolivarian government does not recognize
04:27nor will it ever recognize these absurd measures and reserves the right to take reciprocal
04:32actions against the officials who have taken such measures.
04:36Venezuela remains firm, sovereign and determined to resist any aggravation with dignity that
04:41characterizes the Bolivarian people.
04:53The President of Mexico, Claudio Achene Bowne, highlighted the need to modify the laws so
04:58that there is prevention and appropriate sanctions for cases of missing persons.
05:09To talk about the number of missing people, the date of their disappearance, where the
05:14sources come from, and to continue searching and modifying the laws to allow prevention,
05:21to punish them, and to continue searching for the victims of disappearance and to support
05:26the relatives, this is a matter.
05:30And it is linked now to disappearance because it is very important, mainly to organized
05:35crime, because there was a time in Mexico where forced disappearance was done by the
05:41state.
05:43The government disappeared people who were politically against the government.
05:55The Mexican head of state also affirmed that she will not issue statements on how to deal
05:59with the policies of Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele and demands the same respect
06:03for her people and her government.
06:09I am not going to begin a debate with Bukele.
06:13We could have a whole debate here about the way they are dealing with this.
06:17He was elected by his people, but at the same time we ask for respect for Mexico.
06:23We now have our first short break coming up.
06:29Remember to join us on TikTok at Telezoenglish, where you'll find news in different formats,
06:33news updates, and much more.
06:35We're going to be right back.
06:36Stay with us.
06:39Welcome back.
06:59In Panama, government authorities repressed teachers who were demonstrating against the
07:02Social Security Fund reform.
07:05Mexico police attacked teachers and workers from other unions who were distributing flyers
07:09in the area of Cuatro Altos in the province of Colón.
07:13During the repression, officials of the crowd control unit detained union leader Alberto
07:17Díaz, who was with members of the union movement of educators of the Republic of Panama and
07:22the Single National Union of Construction Industry Workers and similar workers.
07:32In the face of the legitimate right we have to protest, to fight, to mobilize, to march,
07:38our fellow educators of Colón and all the organizations that came to the call of a march
07:43to be held in Colón are being repressed by this government.
07:46That bets again as in 2010 on repression in Boca del Toro, because that is its perverse
07:52plan of wanting to impose a disastrous law for the entire population.
08:04We urge the Panamanian people to join the fight against the dictatorial regime of petty
08:09dictator Mulino, because he cannot do whatever he wants in the country.
08:13The country does not belong to him.
08:19And ignoring the demonstrators' call, Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino assured that
08:23he would not back down the law that prioritizes social security, leaving the most vulnerable
08:27without access.
08:30He who does not work does not eat, and I believe that this is an issue that has been overcome.
08:37These groups were the only ones that neither proposed nor suggested any solution to the
08:43social security issue.
08:46They had almost six months with all the doors open to do it, and they did not do it.
08:53And we are not going backwards.
08:55Social security is recovering through a law.
08:58It is not perfect, but it is better than what we had.
09:03And what is surprising is that many of these faces are the same faces that were on the
09:08board of directors of social security for all these years, and saw the institution fail
09:14in front of their eyes.
09:16So now no, and no and no, and the right to protest is intrinsic to democracy, but so
09:23is free transit.
09:25Both are guaranteed in the same constitutional article, so I hope they protest within democratic,
09:32peaceful, civilized guidelines.
09:35That is the most I can say at this moment.
09:38In other news, in Haiti, clashes broke out in Port-au-Prince during a citizens' protest
09:44demanding the executive to protect them from armed violence.
09:48The incidents occurred in Canapverde neighborhood as demonstrators urged the central government
09:53to intervene in the face of escalating violence they have been suffering since February.
09:58In contrast, local police forces attacked protesters with tear gas.
10:01Demonstrators considered that the authorities have failed to dismantle the criminal armed
10:05groups that control more than 80% of the city.
10:08The UN warns the international community that without urgent action the situation will turn
10:13into a humanitarian catastrophe.
10:32In Ecuador, at least 300,000 people have been affected by an oil spill in the province
10:36of Esmeraldas.
10:38Crude oil has polluted the river Esmeraldas, which supplies the cantons of Llover de Atacames
10:43and Esmeraldas with water to make it drinkable.
10:46The families protested to denounce the lack of this vital liquid.
10:49The spill was caused by the rupture of a section of the Trans-Ecuadorian pipeline system.
10:55From this city, crude oil is exported, which crosses the north of Ecuador through pipelines
11:00that start in the Amazon.
11:11The UN warned on Thursday that the disappearance of glaciers is accelerating due to global
11:16warming.
11:17Authorities affirmed that glaciers will not be able to reach the end of the 21st century
11:22in areas of the European and American continents since their disappearance is becoming faster
11:26and faster.
11:28Ecuador says that since 1975, the glaciers have lost a large mass of ice, calculating
11:33some 9 million tons equivalent to a block the size of Germany.
11:37The UN warned that this situation threatens an avalanche of consequences for economies,
11:42ecosystems and population.
11:44In 2004 alone, more than 450,000 tons of glaciers melted.
11:58At the United States, Wall Street's stock exchange trading is heading for its fifth
12:03consecutive week of losses.
12:05The New York Stock Exchange traded with volatility on Thursday, March 20 and closed with negative
12:11numbers.
12:12In this context, the Dow Jones Industrial Index fell to more than 41,000 points, while
12:19the Standard Index lost about 5,662 points.
12:22The Nasdaq Composite depreciated to 17,691.
12:27Wall Street has been volatile for weeks due to the uncertainty derived from the trade
12:31war launched by the Trump administration, which threatens to aggravate inflation.

13:28Welcome back.
13:35In Israel, demonstrators continue to gather in front of the residence of Prime Minister
13:39Benjamin Netanyahu to demand the end of the genocide against Gaza and the release of all
13:43hostages.
13:44The protests come amid a renewed Israeli offensive in Gaza and ahead of a government vote to
13:50dismiss the head of the internal security, a move that undermines the balance of power
13:55in Israel.
13:56Netanyahu's cabinet unanimously approved this request to dismiss the head of the Shin Bet
14:01internal security service, following the presentation of a Shin Bet report on the attack of October
14:067, 2023, in which it acknowledges the security agency's failures and claims that the Netanyahu
14:12government's policies created the conditions for the attack.
14:18We are here in Jerusalem, near Prime Minister Netanyahu's residence, to remind him that
14:23there are hostages in Gaza and that they must return home.
14:26War does not bring hostages home.
14:29War kills hostages.
14:31Hostages are not safe in a war environment.
14:34Israeli occupation forces have mounted incursions into three key areas of the Gaza Strip as
14:40part of their ethnic cleansing plan to wipe Palestinians off the map.
14:44The occupation army invaded not only the Shabura refugee camp in Rafah, but also northeastern
14:49Bet Lahaya and other nearby towns, including central Gaza.
14:53Zionist forces harnessed artillery shellings and heavy gunfire to seize the Palestinian
14:58areas.
14:59The advance of the Israeli offensive on the enclave brought about both an unprecedented
15:03humanitarian crisis and thousands of displaced in their attempt to roll with the punches.
15:13There was a lot of shelling around us and there were people killed.
15:16The children were extremely terrified, so we left in a hurry without a clear destination.
15:25Fear gripped us before we left our homes.
15:28And even here in this camp.
15:33There's still fear.
15:35We were displaced from Beit Hanoun and have moved between displacement sites more than
15:39ten times.
15:42The president of Tunisia, Kayser, removed Prime Minister Kamel Madhuri from office after
15:49holding the post for seven months.
15:51In this regard, an official statement informed that the Minister of Equipment, Zahra Safrani
15:56Senri, will be the new prime minister and the second woman to occupy the position in
16:01the government.
16:02The authority did not give more details of the dismissal of Madhuri, but specified in
16:06the missive the need for Safrani to meet the expectations of the Tunisian people.
16:11Technocrat Kamel Madhuri was appointed Tunisian prime minister in August 2004, during a major
16:15government reshuffle in the country.
16:26And the Russian government accuses Ukraine of terrorism after the attack on the Tsitsa
16:31gas station in the Kursk region.
16:33The spokeswoman of the Russian investigative committee Svetlana Petrenko assured that she
16:38opened a case against the Ukrainian armed forces after revealing that the military detonated
16:42the gas pipeline, causing serious damage.
16:45Petrenko affirms that this action undermines Kiev's credibility in terms of compliance
16:51with a possible ceasefire against energy installations.
16:54For his part, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed Russia's commitment not to
16:58attack Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
