00:57The Venezuelan government has denounced the violation of international conventions on
01:08migration and human rights by the United States following the kidnapping of Venezuelan migrants
01:12in El Salvador.
01:14The appointed delegate to peace talks, Jorge Rodriguez, denounced the actions of the U.S.
01:18and El Salvador after kidnapping Venezuelan migrants in maximum security prisons, violating
01:24human rights and migration agreements.
01:26Rodriguez also stressed that they will proceed with legal actions against the government
01:30of Nayib Bukele in defense of the Venezuelan people.
01:33At the same time, he expressed his commitment to bring back all Venezuelans who are in the
01:38United States, especially the 240 citizens kidnapped in El Salvador.
01:49The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is being violated.
01:54The United Nations Charter is being violated.
01:56The Universal Convention on the Rights of the Child is being violated.
02:05All the existing conventions on migration and on migrant labor are being violated.
02:10At the same time we want to insist that Venezuela is ready.
02:18We have absolutely everything ready to resume flights from Venezuela to bring Venezuelan
02:23migrants from the United States of America.
02:29We are totally ready, we're just waiting for the necessary coordinations.
02:33The one who is blocking the flights is the State Department of the Government of the
02:37United States of America.
02:42For his part, the appointed delegate to peace talks, Jorge Rodriguez, reaffirmed his commitment
02:46to bring all Venezuelan citizens back to their country, especially those kidnapped in El
02:50Salvador.
02:55We are going to move heaven and earth.
02:57We are going to talk to whoever we have to talk to.
02:59We are going to do whatever we have to do to bring all the Venezuelan men and women
03:03from the United States of America, but mainly to bring the 240 Venezuelans kidnapped in
03:11El Salvador back to their families in their homeland, in their territory, in the homeland
03:16that we all carry in our hearts.
03:18We have already hired the best law firms in El Salvador to defend our men and women there
03:23and to free them.
03:28We are contacting the best migration law firms in the United States of America to represent
03:33the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and to represent each and every one of the Venezuelan
03:38migrants.
03:39Migrating, as one of the family members said, is not a crime and these guys did not commit
03:45any crime, neither in the United States of America and let alone in El Salvador.
03:54On Thursday, 311 Venezuelan migrants arriving via Mexico as part of the Back to the Homeland
03:59plan set forward by the government of President Nicolás Maduro to guarantee the safe return
04:04of deported citizens.
04:05The latest of these flights was announced on Wednesday by the Venezuelan head of state,
04:10who urged to increase all diplomatic actions to bring the migrants from the United States.
04:14The Venezuelans were safe at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiketía by the
04:19Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace of the Latin American nation, Diosdado Cabello.
04:23Carrying Venezuelan flags and singing the national anthem, migrants arrived in a conviasa
04:27flight on a plan re-established thanks to the meetings between President Maduro and
04:32U.S. President Trump's Special Envoy, Richard Grenell, where the Venezuelan head of state
04:36guaranteed the respect and dignity of their return.
04:39We have managed to get this important group of Venezuelans, the actual number is 311,
04:51they are arriving here, women, families, men, many children, they are all arriving here
04:55today, back to the homeland, the children are back in their homeland, it is a beautiful
05:00gesture that we have received from the Mexican government and we thank them for the attention
05:04they have given to the Venezuelans there.
05:06And having them here today in our country is a guarantee of peace and tranquility for
05:10these families.
05:15In Ecuador, residents of Esmeralda protest for the sixth consecutive day to demand answers
05:21from the government of San Andoboa for the lack of attention to the oil spill in the
05:24province.
05:25The oil spill, which is reaching critical dimensions, is seriously affecting the surrounding
05:29local communities and poses a great environmental impact for an area rich in biodiversity.
05:35On Luis Vargas Torres Island, there was a protest by its inhabitants who demanded the
05:39presence of the authorities, because they are also affected by the oil spill that went
05:43down the Esmeralda's river.
05:45After the incident, Ecuadorian authorities declared an environmental emergency to mitigate
05:50the impact of the spill and protect the livelihoods of local residents.
05:59And in this regard, around 200 families have been affected due to the lack of water and
06:03the fishermen have been forced to suspend their activities because of the oil spill.
06:08Citizens of Esmeralda have expressed their outrage, desperation and concern about the
06:12situation in the territory.
06:14Hundreds of people are walking long distances carrying jerry cans to fetch water, while
06:20health of the inhabitants has begun to deteriorate, showing skin irritation and respiratory difficulties.
06:31As you can see the river and the beach are turning black and in the morning we find
06:35dead shrimps and fish.
06:42We are in the island Luis Valle Torres, we ask for water and they send us soldiers, look,
06:47this is what they are sending us, Esmeralda's asks for water and they send soldiers, this
06:51is what they are sending, look, look, look, this is what they are sending, we ask for

07:31Welcome back, the United States President Donald Trump signed an executive order on
07:37Thursday to shut down the Department of Education while keeping some core functions.
07:42Trump has derided the Education Department as wasteful and polluted by liberal ideology.
07:46However, completing its dismantling is most likely impossible without an act of Congress,
07:52which created the Department in 1979.
07:54The order says the Education Secretary will, to the maximum extent appropriate and permitted
07:59by law, take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education
08:04and return authority over education to states and local communities.
08:08At the signing ceremony, Trump blamed the Department of the country's lacking academic
08:13performance and said states will do a better job.
08:21And in Cuba, the fourth edition of the Patria International Colloquium closed on Wednesday
08:26in Havana after three days of discussions on the role of technologies in counter-hegemonic
08:30media.
08:31A correspondent in Los Santos with all the details.
08:38The fourth edition of the Patria International Colloquium came to a close in Havana after
08:43fostering three days of debates on the impact of technologies in media communications and
08:49the role in the construction of counter-hegemonic narratives from the Global South.
08:56We're seeing a massive lack of information, disinformation and it's so important that
09:01we can unite here to really work on this fight back, the resistance and to use social media
09:07and media communications in general as a crucial tool to really challenge the imperialist narratives
09:13that have prevailed for years and years.
09:20Hosted by the University of Havana, this year's event gathered more than 400 delegates
09:25from 47 countries under the slogan We Are People's Weaving Networks, a space for communicators
09:31and experts to interact and share their collective experiences through workshops, panels and
09:37conferences, tying the bonds of solidarity and international cooperation.
09:42We will win!
09:43Four deaths!
09:44We will win!
09:47Long live unity!
09:48Long live!
09:50It's the second time I come here and the reason why I came again is because I think it's one
09:58of the most beautiful experiences that you can attend for meeting people mainly from
10:10the Global South that are working sometimes in very hard conditions and that are working
10:19with a very brave approach for social justice.
10:29This year's event was dedicated to Latin American multi-platform TeleSUR on its 20th anniversary,
10:36highlighting the media outlet's trajectory focused on giving voice to the peoples of
10:40the Global South in the fight against misinformation.
10:44To this purpose, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel visited TeleSUR's exhibition at Patria and
10:49congratulated the multimedia on its continuous effort to carry on the legacy of the revolutionary
10:55leaders of our America.
10:58TeleSUR is the result of their work, Chavez and Fidel Castro.
11:09And what better way to honor him 20 years later by this event, which not only includes
11:15journalists we normally see from Latin America, I'm impressed how over the last few years,
11:22especially with Patricia and other comrades at the head of TeleSUR, they developed links
11:28with important countries.
11:33At the closing event, TeleSUR honored President Díaz-Canel, also Cuban revolutionary leader
11:38Raúl Castro and Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro with the TeleSUR citizenship for their
11:44commitment to the truth of their peoples.
11:53Those who believe that another world beats within these south of ours, your legacy, unbreakable
12:00Cuba, indomitable Raúl, hopeful Venezuela is our signal in the air.
12:05Truth is not negotiable.
12:07Sovereignty is not for sale.
12:09Joy is rebellion.
12:11TeleSUR, like you three, does not forget, does not get tired, does not fear.
12:16The Patria Grande embraces you.
12:22Thank you very much.
12:52The petition, which will be dedicated to Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro on his 100th
12:57anniversary, is called to make the collaborative process set in motion in 2025 a reality.
13:17In our news, hundreds of citizens took to the streets in hatred to demand protection
13:21from threats of gun invasion amid escalating violence in the country.
13:24A resident of Canape Verde, a neighborhood in the city of Puruprince, blocked the accesses
13:30to the sector with locks and burnt tires to prevent the entry of criminal gangs in the
13:35face of the inaction of the police, who went to the place to repress demonstrators instead
13:40of protecting the community.
13:42As a result, they hold the government responsible for the advance of guns, which they claim
13:47are in control of at least 85% of the city.
13:52The United Nations Refugee Agency reported the death of six migrants after the shipwreck
14:00of a boat that left the port of Stax, Tunisia, bound for the Italian island of Lampedusa.
14:06In addition, the Italian Coast Guard also reported the disappearance of 40 people, while
14:1010 others were rescued and taken to the Italian island.
14:14Eyewitnesses reported the boat started to sink a few hours after leaving the Tunisian
14:18port.
14:19The operations of search for the missing persons are led by the Palermo Coast Guard, with the
