00:00:51We're live.
00:00:53We're live, we're live, and hi!
00:00:55My name is Paul E. Dangerously, and where are we going?
00:00:58We're going now?
00:00:59We're going to ringside with Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone,
00:01:02and I just got started talking.
00:01:03Why?
00:01:04Take it away.
00:01:05And they've already started.
00:01:06Tony, hello again, ladies and gentlemen.
00:01:08Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone at ringside.
00:01:10It's sold out to the Raptors here in Knoxville, Tennessee,
00:01:13and we have got a tremendous amount of excitement for you live here on TBS.
00:01:17Ric Flair, beautiful Bobby.
00:01:19Two of the greatest wrestlers in the world today.
00:01:21Tony will settle a championship in two out of three falls.
00:01:24Two out of three falls, kind of a throwback to the old days
00:01:26when they decided the world title in two out of three falls.
00:01:29Should be a tremendous match,
00:01:30and you can talk to beautiful Bobby right now on the Wrestling Hotline.
00:01:33Call him and talk to him live.
00:01:35Without a doubt, fans,
00:01:36it's going to be one of the greatest clashes of all time.
00:01:38Clash of Champions 15 is ready to start.
00:01:40Let's go up to Gary, Michael Cappetta.
00:01:46Ladies and gentlemen, this first contest on the Clash of Champions,
00:01:51Knoxville, USA, six-man tag team action.
00:01:57Introducing first, accompanied by the chairman of the board
00:02:01of the Diamond Exchange, Diamond Dallas Page,
00:02:05and one of his diamond dolls,
00:02:07along with the road boss, Big Daddy Dick,
00:02:10from Bat Street, USA, in Atlanta, Georgia,
00:02:14the greatest rock and roll fan of all time,
00:02:19the fabulous Freebirds.
00:02:25The greatest rock and wrestling band in the land.
00:02:35We're going to start it off here with six-man tag team competition.
00:02:45And ladies and gentlemen, their opponents.
00:02:50First from Wyoming, total combined weight, 474 pounds,
00:02:56Steve Tracy, the Young Pistos.
00:03:02Their tag team partner, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 244 pounds,
00:03:08the Z-Man.
00:03:11Again, ladies and gentlemen, let us remind you
00:03:13that you can talk live to beautiful Bobby between now and 8.30
00:03:17on the Wrestling Hotline.
00:03:18Gordon Soley and Lance Russell will be calling the action.
00:03:25All right, Jim, let's take a look at the matchup.
00:03:27The Freebirds, the U.S. tag team champions,
00:03:29of course, they've been together quite a while.
00:03:31The new man is Bad Street, and he is the man who helped them
00:03:34win that U.S. tag team title, of course, at Super Brawl.
00:03:38At Super Brawl, they took on the same, the Young Pistos.
00:03:41Young Pistos and the Z-Man, relatively six-man,
00:03:43a new team together.
00:03:44Z-Man, of course, a fine athlete who is coming back
00:03:47from an injury to where he separated a bicep.
00:03:52And that was quite an injury.
00:03:53I talked to him about it.
00:03:54It really was.
00:03:56It will be the Z-Man starting out against Jimmy Jim Garvin.
00:04:01Collar and elbow tie-up.
00:04:04And Z-Man, with the advantage, pushes Garvin back in the corner.
00:04:07The referee for this six-man event here at the Clash of Champions
00:04:10is Bill Alfonso.
00:04:13Jim, we need to look early on for the Z-Man and the Young Pistos
00:04:16to try to get a quick advantage.
00:04:18They are a very young, excitable team,
00:04:20and they like to get it on early.
00:04:21Let's see what happens.
00:04:24Nice shoulder block by the Z-Man.
00:04:27And a reversal.
00:04:28Good counter move with a hip lock.
00:04:29Hayes in.
00:04:30He's hip locked for his trouble.
00:04:32A drop kick on Garvin.
00:04:33A drop kick on Hayes.
00:04:34Tracy Smothers on the top rope.
00:04:37Smothers and Armstrong high off the top rope.
00:04:42And indeed, the Young Pistos and Z-Man
00:04:45starting out very quickly offensively.
00:04:49They are as strong as you'll ever see them.
00:04:51The Young Pistos now are on a roll, and look here.
00:04:54The Freebirds got a regroup down on the floor.
00:04:58As we mentioned, the fabulous Freebirds, Hayes, and Garvin
00:05:01are the United States Tag Team Champions.
00:05:07Tag made, it will be Michael Hayes with the exchange,
00:05:10and they're with the Z-Man.
00:05:12You may look, as we take a look at our great crowd,
00:05:14you may look for Michael Hayes, who's a great seasoned veteran,
00:05:16to go after that left arm where the bicep was torn on the Z-Man,
00:05:20but he's not going to get a chance right now.
00:05:23It's Tracy of the Young Pistos with a tag.
00:05:27As we mentioned, that super brawl in St. Petersburg on May 19th,
00:05:31the Freebirds, with the help of their new partner Bad Street,
00:05:34defeated the Young Pistos for the United States Tag Team Championship.
00:05:38Great quickness by Tracy, up and over,
00:05:42taking Hayes down to the canvas,
00:05:44nails him with a right hand and another right.
00:05:51Garvin slammed off the top for his trouble.
00:05:54Action all over the ring in this six-man event,
00:05:56and Tony, oh, great move there.
00:05:59I'm certainly not envious of referee Bill Alfonso's responsibilities in this one.
00:06:04Right now, you're taking a look at three young men,
00:06:08obviously, the Freebirds trying to recruit.
00:06:10Three men who are riding on an adrenaline high right now.
00:06:13The question is, you know, the Freebirds are such great veterans,
00:06:16how long will this last?
00:06:18They're trying to slow it down deliberately and doing a pretty good job of it.
00:06:21Fans, in this broadcast, the World's Heavyweight Championship will be decided.
00:06:25The IWGP Tag Team Titles featuring the Steiners against Hase and Chono
00:06:30will be decided as well.
00:06:32Sting and Nikita Kulov in that big grudge match.
00:06:37Great moves there by the Freebirds.
00:06:42And Hase with the left hand, putting Tracy down.
00:06:45They completely crossed Tracy up that time.
00:06:48Smothers caught with that clothesline.
00:06:50Over the top rope he goes.
00:06:54PN News has the world-renowned rap brute Salt-N-Pepa here tonight.
00:06:59Bad street.
00:07:02With a little help from his friends.
00:07:04And now the Freebirds have control of the situation.
00:07:10Oh, what a move.
00:07:13Double elevation right over the security railing.
00:07:16And Tracy is in a lot of trouble quite obviously here in the early going
00:07:20at the Clash of Champions.
00:07:22We are watching a classic situation of a team of Freebirds
00:07:25who have been together quite a while.
00:07:27And Jimmy Jam celebrates on the outside.
00:07:29Bad street is going to work, and he looks like an exceptional athlete.
00:07:32Tracy, small of his back,
00:07:34rammed right into the security railing again.
00:07:38And the Freebirds certainly have one distinct advantage here, Tony,
00:07:41and that is their vast experience.
00:07:44Their vast experience and the fact that they have been teaming together
00:07:47many more times than the Young Pistols and the Z-Men.
00:07:50And now they're going to try to get things going again.
00:07:52And by golly, we've got a pure six.
00:07:54All six men back in the ring.
00:07:59As far as regarding the rules,
00:08:03the popular trio of Smothers, Armstrong, and Z-Men outside,
00:08:08but they're quickly right back in.
00:08:10The Pistols and Z-Men want to get some sort of a semblance of a wrestling match.
00:08:13They can't continue to do this with the Freebirds
00:08:15and expect to win the match.
00:08:17Well, the Freebirds showing a great deal of confidence here.
00:08:20They have their backs turned to their opponents,
00:08:23which may cost them the long run.
00:08:28Up and over.
00:08:30A trio says they're ripped, and they got it.
00:08:33Ladies and gentlemen, the winners of the match,
00:08:36the team of the Young Pistols and the Z-Men.
00:08:42They love it here in Knoxville.
00:08:46The gym is a case of getting their own medicine.
00:08:49Earlier on, by using the catapult,
00:08:51the Z-Men came flying across the top rope.
00:08:54And then with all three men on the outside,
00:08:56here's what you call taste of your own medicine.
00:08:58The Freebirds had everything going their way except the three cat.
00:09:02And there it was.
00:09:03And it was a tremendous win to start out the clash.

00:10:35the first appearance on TBS of Oz.
00:10:43Tony, we saw this man.
00:10:44He's over 7 feet tall, well over 300 pounds.
00:10:47His first appearance was on the 19th of May
00:10:50in St. Petersburg.
00:10:51What an awesome appearance that was,
00:10:53and the fans are standing here.
00:10:54They're in awe of what they're seeing so far,
00:10:56and wait till they get a look at this guy.
00:11:12Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest,
00:11:14it is for one fall.
00:11:16Introducing first, at over 7 feet tall,
00:11:22he weighs 325 pounds, Oz!
00:11:38And of course, Oz has the Great Wizard at his side.
00:11:45A huge man.
00:11:46A huge man, and that is about as impressive
00:11:48as you can get.
00:11:49You know, in this sport, Tim,
00:11:50there's a lot of psyching out of your opponents,
00:11:53and if that isn't psyching out your opponent,
00:11:54I don't know what you think it does.
00:11:57It would certainly give me second thoughts
00:11:58about ever signing a contract with an athlete this size.
00:12:07First time ever on TBS,
00:12:09and you're singing live here at the Clash of Champions.
00:12:17Whoa.
00:12:19The silver hair and the 7-foot-plus,
00:12:22325-pounder steps easily over the top rope.
00:12:35And ladies and gentlemen,
00:12:36the opponent of Oz from Montgomery, Alabama,
00:12:40225 pounds, Johnny Rich.
00:12:46Popular young Johnny Rich
00:12:47will challenge the massive Oz here on TBS.
00:12:52You know, Jim, we don't know that much
00:12:53about the background of Oz,
00:12:54with the exception of we've seen now
00:12:55two very impressive entrances
00:12:57within the last month or so.
00:12:59We know a lot about Johnny Rich, though.
00:13:00He is a fine athlete.
00:13:01He is a former champion in regional competition
00:13:04as far as tag team wrestling is concerned,
00:13:06and he may get manhandled here.
00:13:08Well, Oz is certainly a devastating force
00:13:10as he takes Rich,
00:13:12hip blocks him high and with authority
00:13:14right out of the corner.
00:13:15This is a huge man.
00:13:18A man that as 1991 goes along
00:13:21is certainly going to be one to be reckoned with.
00:13:24He left his feet with tremendous velocity
00:13:26in that shoulder block.
00:13:28And he is wrestling with a lot of confidence
00:13:31And there's a clothesline.
00:13:32We see so many clotheslines
00:13:33in world championship wrestling,
00:13:34but that one knocked him right out, I think.
00:13:36Going for the cover,
00:13:37and he could have pinned him right there
00:13:38without a doubt.
00:13:39Big Oz could have pinned him right there
00:13:41if he had chosen to do so.
00:13:44Oz sending Rich for the ride.
00:13:46He kicked him right in the face.
00:13:48Great flexibility by this giant athlete.
00:13:52Clubbing forearm blow
00:13:53right to the upper back area.
00:13:57And now he picks Johnny Rich up.
00:13:59Black Rich with a small child.
00:14:01Side slam with authority.
00:14:05And he has him up.
00:14:09And Rich is helpless.
00:14:13Drops him down like a sack of yesterday's news
00:14:20and it's over.
00:14:22Ladies and gentlemen,
00:14:23here's your winner, Oz.
00:14:28Jim, this entire match was a psych-out job
00:14:31until he hit him with the clothesline
00:14:33and then it was all physical.
00:14:35And this clothesline was right on target.
00:14:37Let's take a look again.
00:14:38Wow.
00:14:39And that knocked him out, I think.
00:14:40Look at that.
00:14:41Look how he landed on the back of his neck.
00:14:42Then he didn't want to pin him that way.
00:14:44He wanted to do the big spin.
00:14:46And then he lands on his side.
00:14:48A lot of punishment
00:14:49in a very short period of time.
00:14:51Fans, the next big event in the Omni
00:14:53is Sunday, June 23rd.
00:14:54More on that when we come back.
00:14:57But first, take a look at this.
00:15:03And three pounds,
00:15:05the Rap Master,
00:15:06P.N. News.
00:15:13My name is News
00:15:14and I'm on the attack.
00:15:17Let the sucker in.
00:15:18Let me put him on his back.
00:15:21Yo baby, yo baby, yo!
00:15:26Yo baby, yo baby, yo!
00:15:29He stands six feet, eight inches.
00:15:51He weighs 312 pounds, Dangerous Dan Spivey.
00:16:02Tony, we know that Dangerous Dan Spivey has signed to be on the magnificent kickoff of
00:16:06the Great American Bash.
00:16:07Of course, that on July 3rd.
00:16:08And that, of course, is at the Meadowlands.
00:16:09And we take a look at Dangerous Dan Spivey, who left the NFL and the New York Jets, by
00:16:10the way, to become one of WCW's most powerful stars, and I shouldn't say ever.
00:16:11He is the master of the powerbomb.
00:16:35And ladies and gentlemen, his opponent, from the Northwoods, weighing 272 pounds, Big Josh!
00:16:49Big Josh, the likeable big guy from the Northwoods, making his way to the ring.
00:16:54He has gone from relatively an obscure situation to one of becoming a very crowd favorite.
00:17:04As you see now, having an outdoorsman, and a good point there that he's only wrestled
00:17:09in World Championship Wrestling Gym for only five months, and talking to Big Josh before
00:17:13the match started tonight, he points to this match right here because of the impact on
00:17:18TBS and the nationwide audience being his biggest match in his short career ever.
00:17:24Collar-nail bow tie-up, two very powerful men squaring off here on TBS at the Clash
00:17:29of Champions.
00:17:30As you saw, Spivey's 6'8", just over 300 pounds, and he is a southpaw.
00:17:35Big Josh is also a southpaw.
00:17:37They'll be throwing the heavy lumber, no pun intended, as far as Big Josh is concerned
00:17:42in this one.
00:17:43What a left hand by Spivey, and another left.
00:17:47Big Josh caught him.
00:17:49Spivey rakes the eyes, trying to gain the advantage.
00:17:56Spivey, former All-Southeast Conference defensive end at the University of Georgia, follows
00:18:02Big Josh in with a tremendous clothesline.
00:18:06Well Josh finds himself in trouble early here, Jim, and I tell you, this has got to be the
00:18:10biggest guy that Big Josh has faced in his only five months in World Championship Wrestling.
00:18:14Good waist-lock takedown.
00:18:15He's going right the way they did it in the Northwoods, in the logging camps.
00:18:21He's going fist and fire here with Dangerous Dan.
00:18:26You notice the boots that Big Josh is wearing, they are not the traditional wrestling boots.
00:18:32Spivey, nice Japanese arm drag takeover.
00:18:37He is an international star, a main event competitor throughout the Orient.
00:18:46And the 6'8", former NFL footballer, catches Big Josh with a foot right to the head and
00:18:52kicks him again.
00:18:53Not too scientific, yet very, very ruggedly effective for Dangerous Dan.
00:18:58Well the one scientific type move has been that arm drag, and that is what's given Dangerous
00:19:02Dan Spivey this advantage.
00:19:03It always comes back, it seems, to a great wrestling move like that one right there.
00:19:08Big Josh countered Dangerous Dan and executed the snap suplex.
00:19:13Spivey, the veteran, caught him with that clothesline from the left side.
00:19:24Big Josh backing away, he's in the corner now, got no clean break there, shouldn't surprise
00:19:29any of us.
00:19:30And Spivey into the corner, Big Josh with a suplex!
00:19:34The big man, the big logger with a suplex.
00:19:39I always thought this would be a good test of the endurance.
00:19:42What's going on here, Jim?
00:19:43Well that's Kevin Sullivan.
00:19:44We know Sullivan is the manager of Black Blood.
00:19:48And Sullivan's down there with a crutch, a crutch!
00:19:54Sullivan with a crutch.
00:19:55He broke that crutch right on the back of Big Josh.
00:20:01Sullivan, the manager of Black Blood, now Spivey taking advantage.
00:20:06Spivey has got him with a suplex, and he's gonna pin him!
00:20:11Ladies and gentlemen, here's your winner, Dangerous Dan Spivey!
00:20:17Kevin Sullivan with a distraction, and the inexperienced Big Josh was caught unaware.
00:20:23Caught unaware, but really, look at this.
00:20:25The crutch really didn't faze him.
00:20:27It hurt him, it stunned him, and it turned him around.
00:20:30It was the fact that Sullivan was there and got his attention that led to this over-the-top suplex.
00:20:36Dangerous Dan Spivey, very opportunistic right here, and got the win.
00:20:40Paulie Dangerously will talk to Jason Hervey of ABC's Wonder Years.
00:20:44That in the Danger Zone next, but first, here's the WCW Top 10.
00:20:52Here's a look at the World Championship Wrestling Top 10 rankings and singles competition as
00:20:56compiled by promoters and the members of the board of directors of World Championship Wrestling.
00:21:01In the number 10 slot, one of the newest men in World Championship Wrestling, stunning
00:21:06Steve Austin out of Hollywood, California.

00:21:14Checking in at number 8, Barry Windham.
00:21:17Number 7, the former World Television Champion, The Enforcer, Arn Anderson.
00:21:22Former World Champion Sting checks in at number 6.
00:21:24The number 5 man, the Russian Nightmare, Nikita Kolov.
00:21:27The World Television Champion, Beautiful Bobby, is number 4 in the latest rankings.

00:21:35The number 2 man, the Great Buddha, the number 1 contender, the US Champion, the Total Package,
00:21:42Lex Luger from Chicago, and of course, the WCW World Champion is Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
00:22:04We are back here on TBS.
00:22:07My name is Paul E. Dangerously, and this is the Danger Zone.
00:22:14My guest this evening, as all the papers across the country have reported to you, is the wise-cracking
00:22:22older brother of Brett Savage on the hit TV show, The One New Year.
00:22:27Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and whatever else is watching this live television show,
00:22:33this is Jason Herve!
00:22:41Thank you very much, Mr. TV Star, for coming out here tonight on the Danger Zone.
00:22:46You have shown a lot of guts for answering my challenge.
00:22:50First of all, wasn't The Wonder Years last year one of the top 2 or 3 shows on TV?
00:22:56Yeah.
00:22:56You know, I've been wondering about that because if The Wonder Years was one of the 2 or 3 top shows,
00:23:04then you and Brett Savage must be 2 of the biggest stars on TV.
00:23:08You know, I've been thinking about that myself.
00:23:11If you and Brett Savage are 2 of the biggest stars on TV, let's be honest, between you and me,
00:23:16TV Star to TV Star, you're making a lot of money, right?
00:23:20You know, if you're making a lot of money...
00:23:26If you're making... You're dating Missy Hyatt, right?
00:23:29Yeah.
00:23:30Yeah, you're dating Missy Hyatt and you gotta share a lot of...
00:23:33I'm good with this kind of thing.
00:23:36Do you have a new car?
00:23:38Well, yeah, I do.
00:23:41Have a new car, big TV star.
00:23:45You have a new house?
00:23:46Yeah, so what does that have to do with anything?
00:23:48You have a new car, you have a new house.
00:23:50My dad's a lawyer.
00:23:51I'm good with prenuptial agreements.
00:23:54You and Missy Hyatt, are the 2 of you in love with each other, Mr. TV Star?
00:24:05Well, Pauline, let me tell you something.
00:24:08I just want to know, and I think all the people actually in Knoxville want to know,
00:24:12how did it feel to get your butt kicked by a woman?
00:24:18Okay, I see where this is leading.
00:24:28Let's go over what we've accomplished here, Mr. Hervey.
00:24:33You got a new house.
00:24:34Yeah.
00:24:35You got a new car.
00:24:37Yeah, so what?
00:24:38If everything in your life is new, how come your girlfriend is used merchandise?
00:24:49Let me tell you something, Paulie, dangerously.
00:24:52I didn't come out here to get slandered by you.
00:24:54I didn't come out here to get insulted.
00:24:56If you want to talk about Lex Luger, Ric Flair, Sting, yeah,
00:25:00I'll talk to you about that.
00:25:01But as far as I'm concerned, this interview is over.
00:25:07I don't blame you for that.
00:25:10Not at all.
00:25:13Good grief.
00:25:14He just, he hit the kid right in the back of the head.
00:25:16That phone is, his telephone is, here comes Missy.
00:25:21He burst that phone right over Jason Hervey's head.
00:25:26Can you believe the audacity of Paulie Dangerously?
00:25:30This kid had his back to it.
00:25:32And Jason is out cold.
00:25:34He is out cold.
00:25:36And Missy hovering over him.
00:25:37Missy Hyatt is beside herself and rightfully so.
00:25:41He hit this kid right in the back of the head.
00:25:47That telephone has just went into a million pieces.
00:25:50What a cheap shot by Paulie Dangerously.
00:25:55Tony, I'll tell you something.
00:25:57We were told that Jason had consented to do an interview to talk about tonight's
00:26:01Clash of Champions event.
00:26:03Quite obviously, Paulie's hatred and his jealousy for Missy Hyatt.
00:26:07I think it took the better of his common sense.
00:26:09He's gonna get into a lot of trouble for this.
00:26:11He really is, and of course, you co-host the show with him.
00:26:13We're gonna take a look, I understand, once again, at him getting bopped on the head.
00:26:17And I guess bop is kind of a minor thing to say,
00:26:20because he really was nailed with that phone.
00:26:22And Paulie has to be the master of the cheap shot.
00:26:25Here it is again, Jim.
00:26:27Well, I'm gonna tell you something.
00:26:28There's right there, look at the phone exploding to a million pieces.
00:26:31He hit this kid right in the back of the head.
00:26:34Jason Hervey, I think, is 19 years old.
00:26:36He's a massive fan of World Championship Wrestling.
00:26:39What an unfortunate situation here that we have seen with Paulie Dangerously.
00:26:45I wanna tell you something.
00:26:45I think Paulie, for once, has stepped over the line.
00:26:50We had not planned for this to, it was just to be an interview,
00:26:53just a regular interview.
00:26:55He took advantage here on this live broadcast.
00:26:58We'll be talking more about this throughout the broadcast.
00:27:00But right now, let's go up to Gary Capetta.
00:27:02Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest, it is set for one fall.
00:27:07Introducing first, from Austin, Texas,
00:27:12he weighs 261 pounds, the Natural Dustin Rhodes.
00:27:21Tony, this is a big rematch from our last pay-per-view on May 19th,
00:27:25Super Brawl 91, when this young man forged a very hard-fought victory over
00:27:29Terrence Taylor of the York Foundation.
00:27:32The Natural Dustin Rhodes possesses all the skills in the world.
00:27:38We've said it so many times, but he knows all about the York Foundation.
00:27:41Ladies and gentlemen, his opponent,
00:27:45accompanied by the Executive Director of the York Foundation,
00:27:52Alexander Yorke, and head of security, Mr.
00:27:57Hughes, from Vero Beach, Florida, weighing 238 pounds,
00:28:04the computerized man of the 1990s, Terrence Taylor.
00:28:11Well, fans, before this one gets underway, let's take a look at our Knoxville Notes.
00:28:19Of course, the son of a legendary American dream, Dusty Rhodes, and
00:28:22he has remained undefeated in World Championship Wrestling in his five months
00:28:27here, and his latest victory that we saw at Super Brawl was over Terrence Taylor.
00:28:33But right now, this big rematch, the computerized man, of course,
00:28:36is the mainstay, as the Knoxville Notes will show us, in the York Foundation.
00:28:41And later on in this telecast, they're going to announce its newest member.
00:28:46They certainly are.
00:28:46We look forward to that announcement by Alexander Yorke.
00:28:50A little bit later tonight, her newest man has been signed, and
00:28:53we'll find out exactly who it is a little bit later here on TBS.
00:28:57Terrence Taylor.
00:28:58Problem?
00:28:59What, is there a problem, huh?
00:29:02And there is a problem.
00:29:04He's about 6'6", that's the problem.
00:29:07Taylor with a good veteran move there, taking a cheap shot, but
00:29:10Dustin reverses the Irish whip.
00:29:11He follows Taylor into the clothesline, and Taylor goes down.
00:29:14He hooks the leg, he may have him, and he got two and a half.
00:29:18That was so close, now Taylor on the outside.
00:29:21And Jim, what makes this so intriguing, this matchup,
00:29:23is that the very first man approached to be the newest member of
00:29:26the York Foundation was Dustin Rhodes,
00:29:28who basically threw the contract back in the face of Alexandra.
00:29:31That young man, Dustin Rhodes, had a big meeting on May 19th,
00:29:34the morning of Super Brawl, and politely turned down Miss York.
00:29:39Didn't wanna be a member of the York Foundation.
00:29:44Mike Atkins, the referee.
00:29:45Taylor goes for another cheap shot, but Dustin caught the foot this time.
00:29:50And Taylor in a very precarious position.
00:29:52Turned around and nailed the right hand.
00:29:54Atomic drop by Terrence Taylor.
00:29:59The Irish whip, and the kid follows him in.
00:30:07My God, he's right out here beside us.
00:30:10He just grazed that ring post, Jim, and
00:30:11then hit head first right on the outside.
00:30:14Came very close to hitting the safety rail.
00:30:16Unfortunate, because Dustin was really hot early on in this match.
00:30:21They're right behind us here at ringside.
00:30:23And Taylor using the security railing as a weapon,
00:30:26ramming Dustin sternum first into that structure.
00:30:30Well, you see, that's the case right there of a youngster
00:30:33against a veteran like Terrence Taylor.
00:30:35He has so many tools, does Dustin Rhodes.
00:30:37But as he had the advantage, he went blindly into the corner.
00:30:40Now he's paying for it.
00:30:42Taylor stepping on the bottom rope, got more leverage.
00:30:45Brought Dustin in with a suplex.
00:30:47And now the veteran from Vero Beach, Florida,
00:30:49has the advantage here as Alexander York and the giant head of security, Mr.
00:30:53Hughes, look on.
00:30:54He's got lateral press.
00:30:55He neglected to hook the leg, and Dustin kicked out at two.
00:30:58We don't know what the computer program says, but
00:31:00you can better believe there's a line in there that says,
00:31:02take advantage of mistakes, and that's what Taylor is doing right now.
00:31:06And stay away from the bulldog headlock.
00:31:08That's Dustin's coup de grace.
00:31:11Taylor looking very, very crisp in the early going of this contest,
00:31:15as he is controlling the action offensively.
00:31:18A gut wrench into a modified powerbomb by Terrence Taylor.
00:31:22He's got him wrapped up, and Dustin freed himself.
00:31:25Another near fall situation here on TBS.
00:31:29Still to come, Ric Flair and beautiful Bobby for the World's Championship Sting,
00:31:33and Nikita Kulov, Luger, and Muta, and more.
00:31:36Sunset flip, he got two again.
00:31:39Boy, I tell you, you talk about great conditioning.
00:31:40What spring in the legs that time from Dustin to get over on that sunset flip.
00:31:44Tremendous.
00:31:45Test of strength here, and Dustin has the advantage.
00:31:49The 21-year-old going for the pin and got two again.
00:31:55Very intense competition, much like the fans in St.
00:31:58Louis will see at the arena Friday night.
00:32:01And Dustin caught Taylor coming in, that big size 14 right to the face.
00:32:06Just fighting on instinct right now.
00:32:07He's taking a great deal of punishment, and
00:32:09he still has to feel the effects of what happened on the outside.
00:32:11Shades of Dan there.
00:32:17Everybody knew it here in Knoxville and
00:32:19across the nation, knew that was shades of the old flip flop fly.
00:32:26Dustin now has asserted himself quite dramatically here offensively.
00:32:31He's beating Taylor up and down the turnbuckles.
00:32:35Right now, he's letting his temper carry the best of him right now, but
00:32:38he's still staying on the offensive.
00:32:39And by God, he almost got it again, Jim.
00:32:41Almost got another one.
00:32:42He's going for the pin.
00:32:43This kid is, he's advanced beyond his years.
00:32:45Inverted atomic drop, and Taylor is in a lot of trouble.
00:32:50And there's the giant Mr. Hughes, and there's a bulldog.
00:32:54Dustin got him, Mr. Hughes up on the apron.
00:32:56Dustin's got Taylor pinned right here.
00:32:58Trying to get, that'll get him down.
00:33:03Right hands, Mr. Hughes taking it all.
00:33:06The elbow, got the big man down on one knee only.
00:33:09And there's Ricky Morton.
00:33:10What's Ricky Morton out here to help Dustin?
00:33:11Apparently he is.
00:33:15Hughes is gonna be, he hit him right in the kidneys with that black glove.
00:33:19And Ricky Morton just kicked Dustin right in the face.
00:33:22I think he caught him right in the nose.
00:33:24What in the world is going on here, Jim?
00:33:27Well, we may not have to wait to find out who the newest member of
00:33:30the York Foundation is.
00:33:34Here comes Big Josh with that axe handle.
00:33:38Big Josh with the axe handle.
00:33:42Dustin Rose has won it by disqualification.
00:33:47The great equalizer right here.
00:33:48It's a standoff in the ring.
00:33:50Look at this.
00:33:52Big Josh using the axe handle to his advantage.
00:33:56Fans, we'll be back.
00:33:58We're staying, and Nikita Koloff right after this.
00:34:02The two pounds, Johnny B. Badd.
00:34:07Come on.
00:34:08Come on, now.
00:34:09We're gonna leave it up to you.
00:34:11Come on, baby.
00:34:30Ladies and gentlemen, here's your
00:34:32winner, Johnny B. Badd.
00:34:50Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
00:34:51Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone back here on TBS
00:34:53at the Clash of Champions.
00:34:54Momentarily, we'll be going to the ring to see Sting and
00:34:57Nikita Koloff one-on-one.
00:34:58But Tony, this one got started at Super Brawl.
00:35:01It was a tag team match, Sting and Lex Luger against
00:35:03the Snyder Brothers for the world tag title.
00:35:05Nikita Koloff comes in.
00:35:07Sting pushes Luger out of the way.
00:35:08And Sting gets hit with the Russian chain.
00:35:11But the fight did not stop there.
00:35:13It went on through the back.
00:35:14And I think we're gonna show the fans exactly what happened
00:35:17on May 19th at Super Brawl.
00:35:18Let's take a look.
00:35:23Who is this?
00:35:25That shadow looked like Nikita Koloff.
00:35:27I'm telling you, that looked like Nikita Koloff.
00:35:31Sting pushes his own partner out of the way.
00:35:34Koloff had that chain, that Russian,
00:35:36that chain around his arm.
00:35:37Sting saved Luger from getting nailed,
00:35:40but Sting just got popped right in the face.
00:35:45Tony Schiavone is in the locker room area.
00:35:48I hope that Tony will be able to get an interview
00:35:51with Nikita Koloff.
00:35:53I want Tony to talk to him right now.
00:35:55I wanna see him.
00:35:57Tony's back, let's go back to Tony Schiavone.
00:36:01Sting's hurt badly.
00:36:05He's going after him right here, that's Tony.
00:36:07Okay, here we are, Jim and Dusty with the Russian.
00:36:09What in the world is going on out there, Nikita?
00:36:13Sting was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
00:36:17That's what's going on.
00:36:20Oh my God.
00:36:22Sting and Nikita Koloff.
00:36:23Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest
00:36:26on Clash of Champions, it is set for one fall.
00:36:31Introducing first, from Lithuania,
00:36:34weighing 123 kilos,
00:36:38the Russian Nightmare, Nikita Koloff.
00:36:45Nikita Koloff has signed to be in the big event
00:36:47in Atlantis Omni, that is Sunday, June 23rd.
00:36:52And as the Knoxville Notes will show you,
00:36:54tremendously intense individual.
00:36:56Sting does not want to get into a very rough match,
00:36:59although you know he will, because Nikita Koloff,
00:37:02like a guy on the Suicide Squad on a football team,
00:37:04he just doesn't care.
00:37:05And ladies and gentlemen, his opponent,
00:37:08from Venice Beach, California.
00:37:11He weighs 254 pounds.
00:37:15This is Sting.
00:37:21Oh, what an ovation, and he is ready to fight.
00:37:23He is sprinting to the ring.
00:37:26They're starting it right now, Sting and Nikita Koloff.
00:37:29And Koloff, the intense Russian Nightmare,
00:37:31has the early advantage.
00:37:32As he hooks Sting in, he caught him with an elbow.
00:37:36Oh, we knew this one would be intense.
00:37:38These two men, with a total disdain for the other,
00:37:42scooped him up.
00:37:45Sting tried to cross him up, Jim.
00:37:46He tried to show the fans that he was gonna take his time
00:37:49approaching the ring, and then he ran right into it.
00:37:51And once again, the Russian Nightmare's on a roll.
00:37:55Koloff, with that shoulder block,
00:37:58the powerful competitor from Lithuania,
00:38:02the perfectionist of the Russian Sickle,
00:38:08his version of a clothesline
00:38:10that is certainly one of the most devastating
00:38:13finishing maneuvers in the sport.
00:38:15Koloff tossing Sting outside.
00:38:19Well, that's a good point.
00:38:19You know, the Russian Sickle may very well be
00:38:22the most awesome clothesline in the sport.
00:38:25You got the Steiner line,
00:38:26you've got the Lariat from Stan Hansen,
00:38:28but it's the Russian Sickle that really does the damage.
00:38:32Sting rammed his ribs exposed
00:38:35right into the security railing again.
00:38:39That steel security railing,
00:38:41not a very comfortable landing pad for the Stinger.
00:38:47You know, Sting won the World Championship wrestling.
00:38:50That's what has made him one of the top athletes
00:38:53in the world championship wrestling.
00:38:54I know it seems like a long way right now,
00:38:55but he's got to get out of this
00:38:56and got to try to get back to wrestling.
00:38:58Forget about the emotion.
00:39:00He wants to win this match.
00:39:01The only way he's going to do it
00:39:02is by out-wrestling Nikita Koloff.
00:39:05It doesn't matter.
00:39:06I don't think, Tony, the outcome of this one,
00:39:08because I don't think it can be settled in one match.
00:39:12The hatred between these two runs deeply.
00:39:15It is a sincere hatred.
00:39:16Sting has him out.
00:39:17There's a piledriver.
00:39:19But Koloff, oh, what neck muscles.
00:39:21Koloff back on his feet.
00:39:23Hammer Sting again.
00:39:25Right hand to the abdomen area,
00:39:28and Sting in a great deal of pain and trouble.
00:39:31Because of the pressure that he had taken
00:39:33early on in the match,
00:39:34I don't think he executed that piledriver
00:39:35like he thought he should have.
00:39:37Therefore, Koloff was able to bounce back,
00:39:39and you can see Sting is still in a world of trouble.
00:39:42We have talked about Koloff's intensity.
00:39:45He is one of the most focused athletes in WCW
00:39:49when he has his sights set on one person or one goal.
00:39:53This is humiliating.
00:39:54This is a very insulting gesture by Nikita Koloff.
00:40:00He wants to do that.
00:40:02We have thousands and thousands of little Stingers out there.
00:40:04There you see them right there.
00:40:06And we're gonna be talking to the winner
00:40:08of the Sting lookalike contest
00:40:10that went on here during the week here in Knoxville
00:40:13a little bit later in the broadcast.
00:40:14But there are literally, I mean, hundreds of kids here
00:40:18in the sold-out Coliseum with their faces painted,
00:40:21with their posters, Tombstone Piledriver.
00:40:26He's got him waist-locked.
00:40:28Right there, that should be all.
00:40:31A Tombstone Piledriver by the Russian Nightmare,
00:40:35and this should be all.
00:40:36Sting in a great deal of trouble being checked
00:40:38by referee Bill Alfonso.
00:40:40Koloff feels he has him here.
00:40:42And Sting kicks out.
00:40:44Almost an arrogant cover, Tony, by Nikita Koloff.
00:40:47An arrogant cover, and I really don't think
00:40:49Nikita wants to pin him here, Jim.
00:40:50As a matter of fact, I know he doesn't.
00:40:52He wants to continue now to keep the pressure on,
00:40:55maybe to even more humiliate Sting.
00:40:57And there's a kick right to the ribcage.
00:40:59And Sting is in bad shape.
00:41:01We can see his face looking right at us.
00:41:03Look how much pain he's in.
00:41:05The Stinger will not quit.
00:41:06We can assure the fans that.
00:41:08And all the little Stingers watching this broadcast.
00:41:11He is a winner.
00:41:12He is a champion.
00:41:14And he has come to beat Nikita Koloff.
00:41:16Sunset Flip.
00:41:17Can he get him over?
00:41:18Koloff's got a wide base.
00:41:20Will he go down?
00:41:21And he does not.
00:41:22What a right hand by Koloff.
00:41:25Sting in a weakened state.
00:41:27Could not get the Russian Nightmare,
00:41:28but he's got him now.
00:41:30He hooked him at one, two and a half.
00:41:33Arrogance almost cost him right there,
00:41:35but notice how Koloff continues to just jump
00:41:39right up and keep the pressure on.
00:41:40He knows the type of athlete he's dealing with.
00:41:43If you give Sting any chance to get up,
00:41:46he's gonna come right at you.
00:41:47And he's not allowing him to do that.
00:41:48Tony, I often overuse the cliche,
00:41:51high impact moves, high impact wrestlers.
00:41:54But Nikita Koloff certainly fits that bill.
00:41:56He is a high impact,
00:41:58smack you right in the face kind of guy.
00:42:05Again, Koloff showing his strength.
00:42:07Again, Koloff showing his strength with a back break.
00:42:11He had it twisted there and really caved in
00:42:13the ribs of the Stinger.
00:42:17Again, Koloff with a lateral press.
00:42:20And Sting again kicks out.
00:42:22The Stinger refuses to be pinned at this point
00:42:25in the match by Nikita Koloff.
00:42:28Stinger has all the attributes of a great champion
00:42:30in world championship wrestling.
00:42:32Courage, determination, great execution.
00:42:35Now he's got a call within himself to pull back up
00:42:39and come up and here he comes again, Jim.
00:42:41Sting back up to a vertical base,
00:42:42but Koloff catches him in the solar plexus
00:42:46with a right and another right hand.
00:42:50I'll be talking to Sting this Sunday night on AM 750 WSB,
00:42:54America's leading radio station
00:42:56at nine o'clock Eastern time.
00:43:00Koloff again stomps away.
00:43:02Sting may have suffered either cracked or broken ribs
00:43:06from that blow into the security railing.
00:43:08Koloff has continued to work
00:43:11on that particular part of the anatomy
00:43:13throughout the contest.
00:43:14Sting is in trouble.
00:43:16And I can't help but think as Bill Alfonso
00:43:17tries to get in there and you see Koloff using the rope,
00:43:20I can't help but think it all goes back
00:43:22to the start of the match
00:43:23when Sting ran in with Reckless Abandon.
00:43:25I always felt that the first guy in the ring
00:43:27always has the advantage in that he can wait
00:43:30for his opponent to get in.
00:43:31Sting came in blindly
00:43:32and it set the tone for this match so far.
00:43:34His emotion from what happened at Super Brawl
00:43:36has, I think at the beginning of the contest,
00:43:39really had overcome Sting.
00:43:41As you said, he sprinted to the ring.
00:43:43Koloff took advantage of that emotional lapse,
00:43:47shall we say, by the Stinger.
00:43:49And the Russian nightmare has yet to let up
00:43:52on WCW's most popular athlete,
00:43:54the youngster from Venice Beach, California.
00:43:57Mark of a good athlete in World Championship Wrestling
00:44:00will be to always try to stay on your feet.
00:44:04He's doing all he can from those blows
00:44:06to keep his balance and to stay up
00:44:07and he's doing a good job of it.
00:44:09Both these men ranked in the top 10 world rankings.
00:44:11Koloff, one notch higher than the Stinger.
00:44:14But that could change drastically
00:44:16based on the outcome of this match.
00:44:18The Stinger fights back.
00:44:20He will not quit as we said.
00:44:21But Koloff, the intense competitor
00:44:26that we have grown to know.
00:44:29When he has an opponent down,
00:44:31he is at his most dangerous best.
00:44:33But he is, it seems like, I don't know, Jim,
00:44:35it seems like he's being more deliberate and more deliberate.
00:44:37I guess he's very confident, and once again,
00:44:39Sting trying to get to his feet again.
00:44:45Koloff again, as you can see,
00:44:46kicking Sting in those ribs, punishing the Stinger.
00:44:51Snapmare, take Sting over.
00:44:53Tell you what, Jim, I don't know,
00:44:54I think he's getting the second win.
00:44:56He may be down right now,
00:44:57but something in his eyes that time
00:44:59That Sting is getting the second win,
00:45:01and Koloff, look at him.
00:45:04He knows these kids are here.
00:45:05He sees the posters.
00:45:07He sees these kids with their faces painted.
00:45:10Look, some of them are even carrying the Galoob dolls.
00:45:12That's right, and he's getting up
00:45:14with a little bit more confidence each and every time.
00:45:18Koloff with a clubbing blow to the lower back.
00:45:23Nikita Koloff during the 80s,
00:45:25when he was one of the most dominant
00:45:26U.S. champions of all time.
00:45:29Sting turned the table.
00:45:30This time, it's Koloff's ribs into the steel.
00:45:35Well, he can only fault himself.
00:45:38He brought him down on the floor,
00:45:39did Koloff, and he paid for it.
00:45:41Look at this capacity crowd.
00:45:43Sting trying to fight his way back in the ring.
00:45:45Koloff back up.
00:45:47Sting, the worst for wear
00:45:51in this very intense one-on-one battle here on TBS.
00:45:58Got him up again, going for another.
00:46:01No, what a move!
00:46:02Oh, what great move, what great strength!
00:46:05He got him!
00:46:06There's his Tombstone Piledriver!
00:46:09And this time, Koloff doesn't jump up.
00:46:12This time, he doesn't jump up
00:46:13because Sting had great execution on that one.
00:46:16And I told you, Sting's got his second win right now.
00:46:19Sting with a kick to the midsection.
00:46:21And a chop to the back of the head.
00:46:24A chop to the pectoral region.
00:46:28Now Sting is stomping away.
00:46:30And this crowd loves it here in Knoxville, Tennessee.
00:46:36Tremendous power reserve.
00:46:38That right hand put him all the way in the neutral corner.
00:46:42He went for the Stinger Splash,
00:46:45but Koloff had it well scouted.
00:46:46Koloff's got his arm cocked for the Russian Sickle.
00:46:49He better duck or he better turn around.
00:46:51Oh, he's a dead, oh, he turned.
00:46:54Sting caught him.
00:46:55He's got him rolled up, and yes, he held him!
00:46:59Ladies and gentlemen, here's your winner, Sting!
00:47:04What a wrestling move by the Stinger,
00:47:06capitalizing on the first major mistake
00:47:10that Koloff made in the match.
00:47:13Like we said, it was a fight,
00:47:15but it came down to a great wrestling move.
00:47:18Stinger with great balance right here, reversing.
00:47:21And as you so aptly said, Jim, the Tombstone Piledriver.
00:47:26It was right there we knew he had his second win,
00:47:29and it was great execution that really turned things around.
00:47:32Sting was still weary, though,
00:47:34but he may have suckered him in,
00:47:35and then it came down to the wrestling move
00:47:38from the Stinger, and what a tremendous win.

00:50:33the Godfather of the Godfather.

00:50:45Now, I'm not here to tell P.N. News what up
00:50:49because I know what's up,
00:50:50and P.N. News needs to know what up.
00:50:53But first thing I want to do,
00:50:54I want to say a little something to your posse over here.
00:50:57Both of y'all can't be next,
00:50:59but one of y'all sure can be first.
00:51:01How about that?
00:51:04P.N. News, let me tell you something right now.
00:51:07I am the Godfather of World Championship Wrestling.
00:51:10Johnny B. Bennett is the original rap master,
00:51:13and don't you go around brainwashing,
00:51:15trying to fool all my people,
00:51:17talking about you're a rap master.
00:51:19Oh, hush, Johnny.
00:51:21Let me tell you one thing.
00:51:22I'm the prettiest man in World Championship Wrestling.
00:51:26And let me tell you one other thing.
00:51:29Knoxville and the world, P.N. News,
00:51:32you're nothing but a big old ugly bear.
00:51:35You're ugly.
00:51:36Oh, hush, Johnny. Oh, hush, Johnny.
00:51:39Yo, first of all, little man, back off.
00:51:43Hey, don't put your hand up.
00:51:45You know, what's up with you, man?
00:51:46Why you dissing me, huh?
00:51:48I ain't no big ugly bear, boy.
00:51:51If you want some of me, I'm right here.
00:51:55Uh-oh.
00:51:57You want some of this?
00:51:59Hey, what's your problem?
00:52:01You want right here.
00:52:02I'm right here. You want some of this?
00:52:04Oh, barely. He doesn't want any of that.
00:52:07The rap master, P.N. News, Peppa, and Spinderella,
00:52:11and more on TBS still to come.
00:52:21At 298 pounds,
00:52:25the Diamond Stud.
00:52:32Good God!
00:52:49Ladies and gentlemen, here's your winner,
00:52:51the Diamond Stud!
00:53:02The following tag team event,
00:53:05it is set for one fall,
00:53:07and it has a special stipulation.
00:53:10The individual loser of the fall
00:53:13must leave WCW.
00:53:16Introducing team number one,
00:53:18first, from Sweetwater, Texas,
00:53:21he weighs 278 pounds,
00:53:25Barry Wyndham!
00:53:30His tag team partner from Minnesota,
00:53:33255 pounds,
00:53:36the enforcer,
00:53:38Arn Anderson!
00:53:42I think that Knoxville Note says it all, Jim.
00:53:44This duo has tremendous success in tag team competition.
00:53:47That may be the big key here.
00:53:49I think you're exactly right.
00:53:50It could be the deciding factor.
00:53:52But they have to contend with a man 7 feet 7 inches tall.
00:53:55He's coming up.
00:53:58And ladies and gentlemen, their opponents.
00:54:02First, from Cincinnati, Ohio,
00:54:05weighing 227 pounds,
00:54:08Brian Bryan!
00:54:12His tag team partner from Argentina,
00:54:16at 7 feet 7 inches,
00:54:18he weighs 454 pounds,
00:54:22the largest athlete in the world,
00:54:25El Gigante!
00:54:31Well, you take a look at the former Cincinnati Bengals
00:54:34and the world's largest athletes,
00:54:36and yes, they are risking their careers,
00:54:38and Knoxville Note will tell you.
00:54:40But, you know, I think they have a very close friendship,
00:54:43and that may propel them to a win.
00:54:45It all started back, you know, in February at WrestleWar,
00:54:48when the big guy came and helped
00:54:50flying Bryan out of the war games.
00:54:55It will be Arn Anderson starting out against flying Bryan.
00:54:58Collar-and-elbow tie-up.
00:55:01Anderson trying to go for the leg.
00:55:03Flying Bryan, catching the chop.
00:55:05Those Ric Flair-like chops from flying Bryan
00:55:08are really something else.
00:55:10He's going for the pin early.
00:55:12He's got both arms hooked there.
00:55:15Anderson up.
00:55:17Good veteran move.
00:55:19The leg hooked again, and not wasting any time
00:55:21going for the pinning predicament.
00:55:23Was not a good strategy move by Arn Anderson
00:55:26to try to duke it out with flying Bryan.
00:55:28As we know, he can hit you, and wants to hit you, too.
00:55:35What impact here on TBS and WCW.
00:55:39Windham is hilarious.
00:55:40Spinning karate kick by flying Bryan.
00:55:43Trying to pin his arch-rival Barry Windham.
00:55:48Windham, the great second-generation wrestler.
00:55:50278 from Sweetwater, Texas.
00:55:52Oh, what a right hand!
00:55:55Big-time right by Barry Windham.
00:55:58And another one.
00:55:59And flying Bryan at 227 is the smallest man in the match.
00:56:04And there's a modified DDT by Barry Windham.
00:56:08Pillman may be pinned here.
00:56:09And he got kicked out.
00:56:11Got a shoulder up.
00:56:12Interesting strategy from flying Bryan
00:56:14and from El Gigante to start out with flying Bryan.
00:56:17Because that's exactly what Arn and Barry want.
00:56:19They want the smaller of the two men in there
00:56:21to try to do as much damage as possible.
00:56:24I think flying Bryan, once again,
00:56:25as we have seen earlier on with Sting,
00:56:27is letting his emotions carry him away here.
00:56:30Flying Bryan caught the knee right to the solar plexus.
00:56:33And Arn Anderson, a real ground specialist,
00:56:35going up to the top rope.
00:56:37And he's drop-kicked!
00:56:38Oh!
00:56:39Anderson drop-kicked right off the top!
00:56:42Flying Bryan.
00:56:43Eric Pillman just flew into Knoxville.
00:56:46Up and over!
00:56:48Oh, what a high-risk move!
00:56:55Flying Bryan wearing those tall, wrong-corner arms.
00:56:59What a huge hand!
00:57:01Completely engulfing the massive neck of Arn Anderson.
00:57:06Anderson almost choked out there.
00:57:08Well, Bryan letting his emotions now get with him.
00:57:11And he-oh, look at this!
00:57:13Flying Bryan with a power slam.
00:57:17Well, there's some teamwork here.
00:57:19Up on the giant's shoulders!
00:57:21What a move!
00:57:23Oh, my!
00:57:24He's got him!
00:57:25Oh, and Anderson stopped the count!
00:57:26He had him pinned right there!
00:57:28Pillman had him pinned!
00:57:29What a spectacular move!
00:57:32We were a second away from seeing the end of the career
00:57:35of Barry Windham in world championship wrestling.
00:57:37There's a power slam by Flying Bryan on Arn Anderson.
00:57:41Referee Randy Anderson, no relation,
00:57:43having trouble keeping him restrained.
00:57:46Windham tripped him!
00:57:47Windham grabbed the ankle of Flying Bryan,
00:57:49who was on the top rope.
00:57:51Windham-oh!
00:57:52He kicked him right in the face!
00:57:54Windham just kicked Flying Bryan in the face!
00:57:56He-he's got him!
00:57:57Oh, Pillman's lost!
00:57:59Ladies and gentlemen, here are your winners,
00:58:02Barry Windham and the Enforcer Arn Anderson!
00:58:06Flying Bryan must leave WCW!
00:58:11Only moments ago, we thought it was the end
00:58:13for Barry Windham.
00:58:14What a tremendous double-team maneuver,
00:58:16and Arn Anderson came right in.
00:58:18Actually, he was into the time, and he saved it.
00:58:20But with the action going on, and this was a mistake
00:58:23for Eli Gandhi to get on the floor,
00:58:25boy, that hit him, didn't it, Jim?
00:58:26Right in the face.
00:58:27Windham kicked him right in the face.
00:58:29Flying Bryan must leave WCW.
00:58:32And fans, here's Paul E. Dangerously

00:59:15from the Baltimore Arena during the Great American Bash.
00:59:20Introducing first the challenger,
00:59:24from Tennessee, California,
00:59:28weighing 216 and 51 pounds,
00:59:33this is the world heavyweight champion,
00:59:42nature boy, Ric Flair!
00:59:49Belly to belly by Ricky Steiner,
00:59:51puts his brother on top.
00:59:53He's still out from the Frankensteiner.
00:59:56And the Steiners have won the victory.
00:59:59Ladies and gentlemen, the winners of the match,
01:00:03Ric and Scott, the Steiner Brothers!
01:00:10♪♪
01:00:18♪♪
01:00:24♪♪
01:00:34We are back live, ladies and gentlemen,
01:00:36to the Civic Auditorium in Knoxville, Tennessee.
01:00:38Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone here at ringside.
01:00:40And for the first time on live American television,
01:00:43the IWGP Tag Team Championship will be decided.
01:00:46The Steiners won it in March before 65,000 fans
01:00:50in the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.
01:00:52It was a historic moment for the Steiners.
01:00:54It's gonna be a historic moment here tonight on TBS.
01:00:57The Steiners, what a tremendous win.
01:00:59It was one of the greatest tag team wrestling events
01:01:01we had ever seen.
01:01:02And the Steiners went to Tokyo.
01:01:04The 15-hour plane ride.
01:01:05They were tired, but they came back
01:01:07with the IWGP Tag Team titles.
01:01:09Let's take a look at how the Steiners won it all.
01:01:12♪♪
01:01:17They have Sasaki up!
01:01:19Hase on the outside!
01:01:21There's the Bulldog.
01:01:23Oh, Sasaki's in big trouble.
01:01:25He looks like he's gonna try to set him up
01:01:28for the Frankensteiner.
01:01:29This crowd and these athletes know
01:01:31the Frankensteiner is the coup de grace.
01:01:35Listen to him!
01:01:36Here it is!
01:01:37He got him!
01:01:39The Frankensteiner!
01:01:41And he did it!
01:01:43The Steiners have won it here with that Frankensteiner.
01:01:47They have just made history.
01:01:49Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest,
01:01:52it is for the IWGP Tag Team Championship.
01:01:58It is set for one fall.
01:02:00Introducing first, the challengers.
01:02:02First, from Yokohama, Japan, weighing 230 pounds,
01:02:08Hiroshi Hase.
01:02:10His tag team partner from Tokyo, Japan,
01:02:14235 pounds,
01:02:16Nasahiro Shono.
01:02:19Hase in the yellow T-shirt, Shono in white.
01:02:22Two of the most phenomenal wrestlers
01:02:24in the world today.
01:02:26Well, as the Knoxville Notes will tell you,
01:02:29these two men mean business.
01:02:30And Hase, a former Olympian,
01:02:32Shono, interesting enough, was trained by Luthez,
01:02:35a man he wrestled not too long ago.
01:02:38And together, they have become quickly
01:02:40one of the greatest tag teams in the world.
01:02:46And ladies and gentlemen, their opponents.
01:02:49From Detroit, Michigan,
01:02:51total combined weight, 505 pounds,
01:02:55they are the IWGP Tag Team Champions,
01:03:00Rick Steiner, Scott Steiner,
01:03:03the Steiner Brothers.
01:03:07What an ovation for the Steiners,
01:03:09the most honored team in WCW wrestling history.
01:03:14Well, this is their first title defense
01:03:17of the IWGP title in the USA.
01:03:19But actually, Jim, this is their second IWGP title defense.
01:03:23Back on May 31st, they went to Osaka,
01:03:26and they went there for one night.
01:03:28They took that long plane ride over,
01:03:30successfully defended the titles in Japan
01:03:32in front of a capacity crowd,
01:03:34and they got them again.
01:03:36This time, the difference in the Japanese duo
01:03:40is that Shono has replaced Sasaki.
01:03:43They feel like the Shono style,
01:03:45he's really been on a roll in recent weeks
01:03:48throughout the Orient.
01:03:50Hase is the leader of this team.
01:03:52The man in yellow, the man in the long tights,
01:03:55as we take a look at the Steiner Brothers,
01:03:57is Shono, and it will be Hiroshi Hase
01:04:00starting out against Scott Steiner.
01:04:03We look forward to this because I really think
01:04:05of the evenly matched athletes we have.
01:04:07These two are as evenly matched as you'll find in the world,
01:04:09Hase and Scotty Steiner.
01:04:11Scotty Steiner, waist lock, go behind.
01:04:13And Hase in the ropes.
01:04:15We got a clean break there.
01:04:17As you saw in our Knoxville note,
01:04:19Hase represented Japan in the 1984 Olympics.
01:04:23He was also a two-time world freestyle champion,
01:04:26so he has got tremendous amateur skills.
01:04:29Single leg pickup.
01:04:31Nice counter move there by Scott Steiner
01:04:33coming up to the leg of his own.
01:04:35And a flat on the foot is a legal maneuver.
01:04:37The forearm, a legal blow to the back.
01:04:40Hase reverses the Irish whip.
01:04:42Nice leapfrog.
01:04:43Another single leg pickup.
01:04:45Oh, what a great karate kick.
01:04:47He caught Scott Steiner right in the face,
01:04:49and Steiner landed face first out here on the concrete floor.
01:04:52The first big offensive move of this contest,
01:04:55and it belongs to Hiroshi Hase.
01:04:58And it really crossed Scotty Steiner up
01:05:00because Hase is so quick.
01:05:03Hase was going to be a college professor
01:05:06working on his Ph.D.
01:05:09before he decided to make professional wrestling his career.
01:05:14And there's a hot shot maneuver
01:05:16right across the top rope.
01:05:19Big offensive move there.
01:05:21There's a lateral press,
01:05:23and he only got one out of it.
01:05:25That time, he got two.
01:05:27Scott trying to use his power there, Tony,
01:05:29to hold Hase down.
01:05:30I don't think that's going to be successful.
01:05:33No, Hase is too good of an athlete for that.
01:05:35Look at this bridge maneuver.
01:05:36You talking about power?
01:05:38Look at this, Jim.
01:05:41Oh, what a kick.
01:05:42What a karate kick.
01:05:44Oh, dynamic offensive move.
01:05:47He caught Scott Steiner right in the face.
01:05:51And the fans here in Knoxville
01:05:52and all around the world watching on TBS
01:05:55can only just ooh and ah in amazement
01:05:57of that offensive move.
01:05:58Oh, great move.
01:05:59Fireman carry takedown,
01:06:01and it caught Hase unaware,
01:06:03completely unprepared for that move.
01:06:05Scotty tags in big brother Rick Steiner,
01:06:08and they're barking in the pound here in Knoxville.
01:06:11One thing we need to look for here
01:06:13is the fact that as the match gets longer,
01:06:15it may wear down the Japanese team.
01:06:18Did you know right now, Jim,
01:06:19it's just after around, I guess, 10 o'clock in the morning.
01:06:23Tomorrow morning in Japan,
01:06:24they're on a different time clock than we are.
01:06:27It certainly has its effect.
01:06:29Rick Steiner hammers away with right hands.
01:06:31Those are all American rights, no doubt about that.
01:06:34Chono, great move.
01:06:36He held onto the ropes,
01:06:37and he kicked Rick Steiner so hard
01:06:40that it broke his headgear.
01:06:41Kicked him in the head so hard,
01:06:43it has shattered his headgear.
01:06:45Another karate kick to the head,
01:06:47and Rick Steiner comes back for more.
01:06:50He's leading with his chin.
01:06:52You know, that's a good point,
01:06:54leading with his chin in the Japanese.
01:06:56Oh! Steiner line!
01:06:58That could be sayonara for Chono here.
01:07:01When he go for the pin, he picks him up.
01:07:04Tags in his brother.
01:07:08Fore blow, clubbing blow.
01:07:10Clubbing blow to the back.
01:07:13Got him up on his shoulders now.
01:07:16There's the tag.
01:07:17Rick Steiner, the legal man.
01:07:20Elbow right off the top.
01:07:23They are standing here as this capacity crowd
01:07:27dearly loves the Steiners.
01:07:29What has been so tremendous about this exchange?
01:07:32Those blows by the foot by Chono,
01:07:34apparently absorbed by Rick Steiner.
01:07:37To come back with a great Steiner line
01:07:39to get this offense,
01:07:40but Chono is as resilient as Rick Steiner.
01:07:43Steiner's eyes are a little bit glazed,
01:07:47even more so than normal.
01:07:49There's a waist lock.
01:07:52Nice exchange there.
01:07:53A switch and a belly to back suplex.
01:07:56He planted it.
01:07:57The former heavyweight All-American
01:07:59from the University of Michigan
01:08:00with a great amateur move.
01:08:02Yeah, in so many years of World Championship Wrestling,
01:08:04we've talked about how eccentric,
01:08:06how goofy Rick Steiner is.
01:08:08That was a great wrestling move,
01:08:09and it was well thought out
01:08:10by the Dog Face Gremlin.
01:08:12Hase has Rick Steiner up on his shoulders.
01:08:15What's he gonna do with him here?
01:08:18Another fireman carry slam
01:08:21and a quick tag.
01:08:23Masa Chono now climbs to the top.
01:08:27There was a tag mate.
01:08:28He's holding him up.
01:08:32Chono on top.
01:08:34Shoulder block from the top rope.
01:08:37It was Hase with a waist lock.
01:08:39Chono with a shoulder block from the top.
01:08:42Chono wasted a lot of time here, Jim.
01:08:45He is the lesser experienced on his team.
01:08:53He's got him up.
01:08:54We'll get an airplane spin here.
01:08:56Now we got a fallaway slam.
01:08:59Rick Steiner in trouble.
01:09:00Hase off the top of the knee,
01:09:02right on the clavicle.
01:09:06He needs to get out of there.
01:09:08Rick Steiner being punished
01:09:09while senior referee Nick Patrick
01:09:11having his hands full.
01:09:13And this is Chono's favorite maneuver,
01:09:15the step over toe hold death lock.
01:09:18He calls it the STF.
01:09:20It's a submission maneuver,
01:09:21cross face lock.
01:09:24Outside, the referee is watching
01:09:27the action on the outside.
01:09:28Scotty suplexing Hase,
01:09:31but how much more pain can Rick Steiner take
01:09:34in this submission move?
01:09:36Scotty slipped off the top rope.
01:09:39Well, he was a little too anxious right there.
01:09:41He knew his brother was on the verge
01:09:43of being out cold,
01:09:44but he got in there as best he could,
01:09:46and it was effective.
01:09:47Rick Steiner's headgear completely mangled
01:09:50from those awesome kicks to the face.
01:09:52Double clothesline.
01:09:54A Steiner line, and I guess a,
01:09:57I don't know, a Chono line.
01:09:59I don't know what it's called,
01:10:00but it was effective.
01:10:01It was effective.
01:10:02It was effective.
01:10:03Both men are down.
01:10:04The fans here are standing.
01:10:05They have never seen a tag team encounter like this,
01:10:08and neither have I.
01:10:11Hase and Chono make the exchange,
01:10:14and so does Rick and Scott Steiner.
01:10:16Hase and Scotty, the legal man.
01:10:18Oh, what a Steiner line.
01:10:20Oh, my.
01:10:22Another Irish whip.
01:10:28Up and tilt-a-whirl.
01:10:32Hase on a Steiner line state fair ride
01:10:36with a tilt-a-whirl.
01:10:40High impact moves by the Steiners,
01:10:43but a great counter by Hase.
01:10:45Scotty, Scotty, double arm suplex position
01:10:48takes him down in a modified powerbomb.
01:10:53Incredible turn of events here.
01:10:55Steiner really has the adrenaline pumping
01:10:57right now, don't they?
01:11:00They've got the momentum.
01:11:05Chono almost out of it.
01:11:06His running lights are crossed.
01:11:08Belly-to-belly on the top.
01:11:11Oh, belly-to-belly.
01:11:13Hase to the pin, but Chono stopped the count.
01:11:15Hase, you could see with his right arm,
01:11:17was waving his partner in.
01:11:19Chono saw it, and he made the save.
01:11:21That's great communication between team members
01:11:23right there.
01:11:24He needed help.
01:11:25He knew it.
01:11:26Hase signals for his partner.
01:11:27Quick move there by Hase.
01:11:29Full Nelson.
01:11:30Full Nelson suplex.
01:11:31Oh, what a move.
01:11:32He may pin him.
01:11:33One, two.
01:11:34And Rick Steiner interrupted the count.
01:11:36Chono in.
01:11:37Kick to the back of the head, and Rick Steiner
01:11:39on the outside.
01:11:40And now, this dynamic team from Japan
01:11:44double-teaming Scott Steiner.
01:11:46The Irish whip.
01:11:47They double-teamed forearms right to his face.
01:11:52Steiner, who was an All-American at 191.
01:11:55At the University of Michigan.
01:11:59He got all Frankensteiners.
01:12:01He got the Frankensteiners.
01:12:02Run off the ropes.
01:12:04Yeah.
01:12:06And ladies and gentlemen, the winners,
01:12:08and still IWGP champions, the Steiner Brothers.
01:12:12Wait a minute.
01:12:13There's Dick Murdoch and Dick Slater.
01:12:17They're wrestling as a hard line.
01:12:19A tag team known as the Hardliners.
01:12:21Well, what in the world are they doing here?
01:12:23They're beating up everybody in the ring.
01:12:25Their fists are taped.
01:12:27Slater and Murdoch are in.
01:12:29And they're beating the Steiners up
01:12:31after this tremendous match.
01:12:33Knickbreaker by Slater.
01:12:35The Hardliners hitting the ring.
01:12:38They're hitting anything that moves.
01:12:40But we know why they're here.
01:12:42They're here.
01:12:44To take apart the Steiners.
01:12:48There has been talk that they wanted
01:12:50the World Tag Team Championship.
01:12:53Oh, man.
01:12:54They're trying to break Rick Steiner's arm.
01:12:57Stomping away.
01:12:59A vicious, unprovoked attack
01:13:01by Murdoch and Slater, the Hardliners.
01:13:05Too bold here, Jim.
01:13:06They're trying to take away the weapon,
01:13:08the Steiner line.
01:13:09We've got to get out of here.
01:13:11Oh, my goodness.
01:13:12We need help here in the ring.
01:13:13Fans, we'll be back in just a moment.
01:13:17Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest
01:13:19on Clash of the Champions.
01:13:21It is set for one fall.
01:13:23Introducing first, ladies and gentlemen,
01:13:26accompanied by the chairman of the board
01:13:29of the Diamond Exchange, Diamond Dallas Page
01:13:34from Florida.
01:13:36He weighs 298 pounds.
01:13:42His opponent from Atlanta, Georgia,
01:13:44Wildfire, Tummy Rich.
01:13:52Diamond Dallas Page.
01:13:54That's right.
01:13:55Diamond Dallas Page here
01:13:57with my latest acquisition, the Diamond Stud.
01:14:00Where's that come from?
01:14:01Where's that come from?
01:14:02The Diamond Stud.
01:14:04The Diamond Stud.
01:14:06The Diamond Stud.
01:14:08The Diamond Stud.
01:14:10Where's that girl?
01:14:11Where's that girl who applied for the job?
01:14:13Come on up here, toots.
01:14:15You might notice I don't have one of my Diamond Dolls
01:14:18here tonight.
01:14:19Well, there's a reason for that.
01:14:21We're searching across the country
01:14:23and around the world looking for a studette,
01:14:26and this babe here thinks she's got what it takes.
01:14:29Are you ready to peel the real deal, baby?
01:14:32Well, let's see what you got.
01:14:36Good God, blew her away.
01:14:38Another one bites the dust.
01:14:40You were wonderful.
01:14:41You were marvelous, baby, but see ya.
01:14:46Well, Diamond Dallas Page
01:14:49with a Diamond Stud, and the Diamond Stud,
01:14:526'7", 298, attacking Tommy Wildfire.
01:14:55Rich fans, we have just been informed
01:14:57that Murdoch and Slater, the Hardliners,
01:14:59have been fined $5,000
01:15:02for accosting the official,
01:15:04and that tragic altercation with Rick Steiner
01:15:07Steiner's arm severely injured.
01:15:10We'll hope to have a report on Rick Steiner's injury
01:15:12before we go off the air here on TBS.
01:15:16Tommy Rich with a great move to counter,
01:15:18but the Diamond Stud just too big and too powerful.
01:15:22Good point, Jim, and back very briefly
01:15:24about the Hardliners.
01:15:25It's good that WCW board of directors
01:15:27would do that so quickly to make a stand,
01:15:29but if you're Murdoch and you're Slater,
01:15:31you're probably saying-
01:15:32A twisted steel and sex appeal.
01:15:33Good God.
01:15:34You're probably saying, so what?
01:15:36They made their mark.
01:15:37They tried to take out one of the primary weapons
01:15:40of the Steiners,
01:15:41and I think they were very successful doing it.
01:15:42Many of our board of directors
01:15:43in attendance here this evening
01:15:44made that very quick decision,
01:15:46and bravo to them.
01:15:48The Diamond Stud, as we mentioned,
01:15:50weighs 298,
01:15:52and he's not carrying any excess baggage.
01:15:55He's quite a find for Diamond Dallas Page
01:15:58to go along with the United States Tag Team Champions,
01:16:01the Fabulous Freebirds,
01:16:03and their masked partner, Bad Street.
01:16:05Quite an entourage.
01:16:08The big man showing great agility.
01:16:11And Tommy Rich, the veteran
01:16:13and former world's heavyweight champion,
01:16:16pulled up his knees,
01:16:18and now Tommy showing his fire.
01:16:22He's got it.
01:16:23That's why they call him Wildfire.
01:16:26Tommy went for a cross-body press.
01:16:28The Diamond Stud too quick and moved out of the way.
01:16:31A lot of quickness for that big guy.
01:16:34Now, Diamond Dallas Page is saying D-D-D,
01:16:36which is the Diamond Death Drop,
01:16:37and it is awesome if he executes it right here.
01:16:41On his shoulders and drives him down.
01:16:43The Diamond Death Drop and the Diamond Stud
01:16:47remains undefeated.
01:16:49Ladies and gentlemen, here's your winner,
01:16:51the Diamond Stud!
01:16:54All right, fans, Jim Ross making his way over.

01:16:59Meanwhile, in the ring,
01:17:00you gotta be impressed with this big guy,
01:17:03the Diamond Stud.
01:17:04Here's the D-D-D, Diamond Death Drop,
01:17:07and look at the execution.
01:17:08He keeps his head forward and his eyes straight out
01:17:11and drives the shoulders and the neck right down.
01:17:15Wow, the Diamond Stud is awesome.
01:17:21Right now, let's go to Jim Ross.

01:21:12to wrestle for the WCW
01:21:15World Heavyweight Championship
01:21:18at the Great American Bash.
01:21:20Introducing first,
01:21:22from Tokyo, Japan,
01:21:24he weighs 237 pounds,
01:21:28The Great Muta!
01:21:34The Great Muta,
01:21:35ranked number two in the world.
01:21:40Jimmy moved up in the rankings,
01:21:41of course,
01:21:42and his primary weapon
01:21:44is the moonsault.
01:21:46And he really wants
01:21:48to propel himself
01:21:49to be able to take that world title
01:21:51ultimately back to Japan.
01:21:59At one time,
01:22:00he won over 50 matches in a row
01:22:02in WCW.
01:22:03What an outstanding competitor he is.
01:22:07And ladies and gentlemen,
01:22:09his opponent,
01:22:11from Chicago, Illinois,
01:22:14weighing 292 pounds,
01:22:17he is the WCW
01:22:19United States
01:22:21Heavyweight Champion,
01:22:23the Total Package,
01:22:25Max Luger!
01:22:30The Total Package,
01:22:32Max Luger!
01:22:36Six feet five, 292.
01:22:40The United States Heavyweight Champion
01:22:42and the number one contender
01:22:44for the WCW World Heavyweight Title.
01:22:46There's Bill Kazmaier.
01:22:48Bill Kazmaier,
01:22:49legitimately the world's strongest man.
01:22:51He holds over 50 world strength records.
01:22:54And nobody else holds that many.
01:22:57Bill Kazmaier with a Lex Luger shirt.
01:23:00Of course,
01:23:01his goal is to become the WCW World title holder.
01:23:04He told us
01:23:05that this is the beginning of the road for him.
01:23:08He feels right now,
01:23:09Bill Kazmaier shows that he's a Lex Luger fan.
01:23:12Luger tells us that this is the beginning of the road.
01:23:15He feels right now that he is at his best.
01:23:18And Jim, I would agree.
01:23:19He's in magnificent condition up to 292
01:23:23from 275.
01:23:26Take an eye on Muda.
01:23:27Keep an eye on him.
01:23:28His ritual.
01:23:30The Green Mist.
01:23:32The mysterious Green Mist.
01:23:37Muda, the former WCW World Television Champion.
01:23:42As Tony mentioned,
01:23:44in front of 65,000 fans,
01:23:46by using the Green Mist,
01:23:48he upset Sting in the Tokyo Dome back in March.
01:23:51Luger with a great power advantage here.
01:23:54Forcing Muda back into the turnbuckle.
01:23:56Jim, you mentioned the Green Mist,
01:23:57and that's a good point,
01:23:58as you take a look at Muda trying to get a quick advantage.
01:24:01I know Luger and Sting are very close.
01:24:03We've known that for a long time,
01:24:04and I hope that Luger looks at the tape from Japan
01:24:08and stays away from the Green Mist,
01:24:09because if he did it to Sting,
01:24:11he'll try to do it to Luger.
01:24:13I visited Lex and Sting
01:24:14at the Men Event Fitness Center in Atlanta
01:24:16not too long ago,
01:24:17and you wouldn't believe what they were doing.
01:24:19After they finished their workout,
01:24:20they were looking at tape over and over
01:24:22of the Muda-Sting match from the Tokyo Dome.
01:24:26Nice takedown by Luger,
01:24:28but a quick counter by the great Muda.
01:24:30Muda has tremendous martial arts skills.
01:24:33His feet are just as deadly as his hands.
01:24:36He's got great quickness,
01:24:38and that's one thing I think
01:24:39that's gonna give Luger a little trouble in this match,
01:24:42is Muda's quickness.
01:24:43And that's why this is a difficult match for Luger.
01:24:45The reason is, to be successful,
01:24:47he's gotta wrestle power moves,
01:24:49and that means getting close to Muda,
01:24:50but he's gotta stay away from him
01:24:51at the same time in those martial arts skills.
01:24:55Big chop by Muda
01:24:56on the huge chest of Lex Luger.
01:24:59Went for a roundhouse karate kick.
01:25:02Luger countered with a belly-to-back suplex.
01:25:05He's got the leg hooked.
01:25:06He's going for a pin and got two.
01:25:15Luger with a scoop slam,
01:25:16or Luger rather, on Muda.
01:25:18Luger got a lot of elevation,
01:25:20but the quickness of Muda again,
01:25:22coming to the front.
01:25:23He moved out of the way.
01:25:24Luger found nothing but air.
01:25:26Yeah, he got nice elevation.
01:25:27Actually, he got too much elevation that time,
01:25:29and it was just easy for the guy
01:25:31with the quickness of the Muda
01:25:32to roll out of the way that time.
01:25:35Great chop there by Muda.
01:25:38Sending Luger for the ride.
01:25:41Back drop as he elevates the 292-pounder.
01:25:46Muda, a world-class athlete,
01:25:49as evidenced by his number two ranking
01:25:51in the WCW top ten.
01:25:54And Luger has that strength.
01:25:56Extending the arms.
01:26:00A military slam.
01:26:026'5", 292, as we mentioned.
01:26:06And the winner of this match
01:26:07will wrestle for the world title
01:26:09on July 14th's Great American Bash.
01:26:11Pay-per-view.
01:26:12Nobody there.
01:26:14Spinning karate kick caught Luger
01:26:16right, I think, in the throat or the face.
01:26:19I couldn't see.
01:26:21A mistake from Luger,
01:26:22and this one could have cost him,
01:26:23because as we all know what Muda can do
01:26:26once he gets a definite advantage,
01:26:27which he has right now.
01:26:31Muda has spring elbow.
01:26:33Oh, my gosh!
01:26:34Up and over.
01:26:36Nobody there.
01:26:38Muda went up and over.
01:26:42Luger now has the opportunity
01:26:44to regroup and get back in that power mode.
01:26:48He's got him face locked.
01:26:51Luger, awesomely strong,
01:26:53but Muda came off.
01:26:55Oh, he went to spray him.
01:26:57Luger had his eyes up.
01:26:59He had his hand up on his eyes.
01:27:00He blocked it.
01:27:01Oh, and he caught him in a power slam
01:27:03with authority.
01:27:04That's it.
01:27:05Ladies and gentlemen,
01:27:06here's your winner,
01:27:07the total package,
01:27:09Lance Luger!

01:34:22in the world
01:34:23that can compare
01:34:24with a matchup

01:34:26Nature Boy,
01:34:27Ric Flair,
01:34:28the heavyweight champion
01:34:29in Beautiful Bobby.
01:34:30This is two out of three falls
01:34:31with television
01:34:32time remaining.
01:34:33This is WCW.
01:34:34This is our kickoff
01:34:35of the summer.
01:34:36It's going to be
01:34:37a tremendous summer,
01:34:38and you can't get
01:34:39any better than this
01:34:40right on TVX.
01:34:41What a night it's been.
01:34:42You know,
01:34:43we have mentioned
01:34:44about returning
01:34:45to Atlanta's Omni
01:34:46on June 23rd.
01:34:47The kickoff
01:34:48of the Great American Bash
01:34:49is on July the 3rd
01:34:50in the Meadowlands
01:34:51in East Rutherford,
01:34:52New Jersey.
01:34:53But this is really
01:34:54a kickoff.
01:34:55Flair trying to intimidate
01:34:56Beautiful Bobby
01:34:57at the after party
01:34:58with a kickoff
01:34:59of the Great American Bash.
01:35:00Flair trying to intimidate
01:35:01Beautiful Bobby
01:35:02at the outset here,
01:35:03and the quiet man
01:35:04from Huntsville, Alabama,
01:35:05just slapped the taste
01:35:06out of the Nature Boy's mouth.
01:35:07Flair knows he cannot
01:35:08intimidate Beautiful Bobby.
01:35:09I mean, he's a veteran also,
01:35:10and a veteran,
01:35:11a champion veteran.
01:35:12Flair knows that.
01:35:13Flair's just gonna test him
01:35:14out a little bit right here,
01:35:15because two out of three falls,
01:35:16you know,
01:35:17there's a long time
01:35:18to go in this match.
01:35:19Another collar and elbow tie,
01:35:20both men feeling
01:35:21each other out,
01:35:22basically here
01:35:23in the early going,
01:35:24but they know
01:35:25each other very well.
01:35:26Beautiful Bobby
01:35:27dropped down
01:35:28to the mat
01:35:29Beautiful Bobby
01:35:30dropped down,
01:35:31but Flair
01:35:32thought one move
01:35:33would hit.
01:35:34Oh, what a chop!
01:35:35Beautiful Bobby
01:35:36with a ride.
01:35:37Nice football block
01:35:38by Beautiful Bobby.
01:35:39This time,
01:35:40Flair dropped down,
01:35:41and Beautiful Bobby
01:35:42had that move
01:35:43well scouted.
01:35:44Dropped a couple
01:35:45of elbows.
01:35:46He caught Flair
01:35:47up and over
01:35:48from that clothesline,
01:35:49and the heavyweight
01:35:50champion of the world,
01:35:51Nathan Flair,
01:35:52is the champion
01:35:53of the world.
01:35:54Flair,
01:35:55the champion
01:35:56of the world,
01:35:57and the heavyweight
01:35:58champion of the world,
01:35:59Nature Boy,
01:36:00Ric Flair,
01:36:01being severely tested
01:36:02in the early going
01:36:03by Beautiful Bobby.
01:36:04From the moment
01:36:05Flair tried to get Bobby
01:36:06to the neutral corner
01:36:07and chop him
01:36:08in the chest,
01:36:09you could see
01:36:10that Bobby
01:36:11was well prepared.
01:36:12He fought his way
01:36:13out of the corner,
01:36:14fought his way
01:36:15into the next corner,
01:36:16prepared for Flair
01:36:17to drop down,
01:36:18and took him
01:36:19right outside.
01:36:20Great wrestling
01:36:21from Bobby.
01:36:22Flair has been
01:36:23to the big dance
01:36:24before.
01:36:25Legendary status
01:36:26to get impatient.
01:36:27He's got to wrestle
01:36:28his match
01:36:29as he can wrestle.
01:36:30That's right,
01:36:31and that's a great point.
01:36:32He has to make Flair
01:36:33come to him,
01:36:34and that's a tough
01:36:35thing to do.
01:36:36Not many people
01:36:37have been able
01:36:38to do that.
01:36:39Flair's a master
01:36:40of dictating the pace.
01:36:41Forearm right to the ear,
01:36:42jaw,
01:36:43Beautiful Bobby.
01:36:44Flair,
01:36:45those chops
01:36:46are just legendary.
01:36:47Oh, man.
01:36:48Right above us,
01:36:49and it's echoing
01:36:50throughout the
01:36:51Civic Coliseum.
01:36:52Flair's got
01:36:53to make Flair
01:36:54come to him.
01:36:55Right above us,
01:36:56and it's echoing
01:36:57throughout the
01:36:58Civic Coliseum
01:36:59here in Knoxville.
01:37:00Straight right hand
01:37:01from the heavyweight
01:37:02champion of the world.
01:37:03Tremendous impact
01:37:04here in WCW.
01:37:05And even with a right.
01:37:06Beautiful Bobby
01:37:07from Huntsville,
01:37:08Alabama.
01:37:09A succession
01:37:10of right hands.
01:37:11Flair in trouble.
01:37:12Bobby was going
01:37:13to go for the
01:37:14cover right there.
01:37:15Irish hip to Flair.
01:37:16There's the backdrop.
01:37:17High elevation.
01:37:18Flair's got
01:37:19to make Flair
01:37:20come to him.
01:37:21Oh, man.
01:37:22Flair's got to
01:37:23make Flair come to him.
01:37:24High elevation.
01:37:25Flair landing on his
01:37:26lower back.
01:37:27He's got him.
01:37:28He may have him.
01:37:29Hook the leg,
01:37:30and he got out
01:37:31of four of the three.
01:37:32I thought he did.
01:37:33When Flair went
01:37:34face first moments ago,
01:37:35notice how Bobby squared
01:37:36himself in front of
01:37:37Ric Flair,
01:37:38making sure that he had
01:37:39his eyes right on
01:37:40the world champion
01:37:41because a lot of times
01:37:42Flair will lull you
01:37:43into the sense
01:37:44that you have it,
01:37:45and then you'll come
01:37:46back with an offensive move.
01:37:47Bobby did not allow him
01:37:48to do that.
01:37:49Good move, Bobby.
01:37:50Flair somewhat cautious
01:37:51at this juncture
01:37:52in the contest.
01:37:53Flair's backing off
01:37:54a little bit here.
01:37:55At least I thought.
01:37:56This match has a television
01:37:57time remaining.
01:37:58That would certainly be
01:37:59in Flair's favor.
01:38:00Nice hip-lock takeover
01:38:01by beautiful Bobby.
01:38:02Going for a short-arm
01:38:03scissors there.
01:38:04That's a submission maneuver.
01:38:05He's got him.
01:38:06He's got him.
01:38:07He's got him.
01:38:08He's got him.
01:38:09He's got him.
01:38:10He's got him.
01:38:11He's got him.
01:38:12He's got him.
01:38:13He's got him.
01:38:14He's got him.
01:38:15He's got him.
01:38:16He's got him.
01:38:17He's got him.
01:38:18He's got him.
01:38:19That's a painful takeover
01:38:20of Senior Referee Nick Patrick,
01:38:21though exercising the count.
01:38:22His shoulders are down.
01:38:25Beautiful Bobby,
01:38:26at least temporarily,
01:38:27has grounded
01:38:28the World's Champion.
01:38:29And I've never seen
01:38:30Ric Flair give up or submit.
01:38:33And I don't think Bobby
01:38:34expects him to here.
01:38:36But he certainly wants
01:38:37to send a message
01:38:38to Ric Flair
01:38:39and maybe do some damage
01:38:40that may help
01:38:41to wear him down later on.
01:38:43Beautiful Bobby holding on
01:38:44to that short-arm scissors.
01:38:46Putting a tremendous
01:38:47amount of power
01:38:48a tremendous amount of pressure on the elbow of Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
01:38:55Flair is legendary, his cardiovascular conditioning is renowned in the sport.
01:39:02But Bobby Eaton has dropped to 235, seven pounds lighter than Flair.
01:39:08And that could be a factor also in this two out of three fall event.
01:39:12It could be a factor as Bobby has dropped some weight.
01:39:15Could it affect his stamina in this match?
01:39:17It's a big question.
01:39:18Right now, though, if he keeps him on the mat, he'll have plenty of stamina.
01:39:22As we're getting into the weenie moments of this match.
01:39:24Flair to the ropes, right hand.
01:39:27Beautiful, Bobby, bringing the oohs and aahs in the crowd with that right.
01:39:31And now he's working on the arm, continuing to work on the arm.
01:39:35The sign of a great veteran staying focused on the one body part that he's
01:39:40singled out, that he's worked on, hammerlock.
01:39:43Flair trying to find a way out, nice drop toehold from the Nature Boy.
01:39:48Wow, what a move, and that's why he's the champion.
01:39:50That was tremendous.
01:39:51Boom, boom, top, and a right hand.
01:39:55How many of those right hands will Ric Flair be able to take from beautiful Bobby?
01:40:02Right behind us, a little close for comfort here.
01:40:06Flair stalling for time now on the outside.
01:40:09I don't know what he's expecting to do here, but
01:40:12what he was expecting to do is what he wanted to do.
01:40:14And that was get the advantage by having Bobby come in after him.
01:40:17Bobby made a mistake there, Tony.
01:40:18This is two out of three falls.
01:40:20He should have stayed in the ring.
01:40:22If Flair's counted out, he's down one fall to none.
01:40:25That's right.
01:40:29Fans are chanting Bobby's name, Jim.
01:40:31What's it doing?
01:40:33They love this guy.
01:40:34I'll tell you something, what a humble kid.
01:40:37Huntsville, Alabama.
01:40:40Got in the sport when he was 17 years of age, but
01:40:43it got into it sooner than Atlantic.
01:40:45Another chop.
01:40:48Man, Flair's hitting beautiful Bobby with a heavy artillery.
01:40:52It's dynamite chops, and Eden rammed his head, I think, hit the ring post.
01:40:59Either hit the ring post or
01:41:01hit that piece of steel that hooks the turnbuckle to the ring post.
01:41:05Regardless of what happened, it's giving Flair the advantage.
01:41:11Lex Luger will have his opportunity to wrestle.
01:41:15For this very championship at our pay-per-view on July 14th.
01:41:20What a great crowd.
01:41:21These people are having a great time tonight.
01:41:23If you have the opportunity to see live WCW action,
01:41:27then don't miss it, bring the entire family.
01:41:32Bobby's gotta get out of this corner immediately.
01:41:35Those chops will break down your pectoral muscles.
01:41:39They will affect your punching power.
01:41:41For those contusions on the chest and on the arms.
01:41:46It will also affect your balance if you like to go on the top rope like Bobby does.
01:41:50Flair drops a knee across the head.
01:41:53He's got an impending predicament.
01:41:54Half Nelson, leg hooked.
01:41:57Try to go for it again.
01:41:59And beautiful Bobby got the right shoulder up.
01:42:01Right up now, baby.
01:42:05What a broadcast we have had, and we certainly hope you fans will join us.
01:42:10This weekend on TBS, each and every weekend.
01:42:15For the very finest in wrestling action.
01:42:18And we're gonna have some comments from many of the competitors on our Saturday
01:42:21broadcast.
01:42:21Flair's feet are on the ropes.
01:42:23Trying to get a cheap one here.
01:42:25He'll take it any way he can.
01:42:27Two out of three falls.
01:42:28You've gotta take any fall in any manner that presents itself.
01:42:33Well, that's true.
01:42:33That's not the most honorable thing to do.
01:42:36But it gets the result done, which is win the match.
01:42:39Or at least win the pinfall in this case.
01:42:43Another tremendous shot by Flair.
01:42:46Eaton's chest becoming very bruised, very discolored, but he fights back.
01:42:51Stinging jabs by Flair.
01:42:53Right hand by beautiful Bobby.
01:42:56Eaton fighting back with all he's got.
01:42:58And Flair now reeling back in the corner.
01:43:02Can you believe the perseverance of beautiful Bobby?
01:43:04He is such an athlete.
01:43:06Flair going up top.
01:43:09This move is well scouted.
01:43:11And beautiful Bobby slams him right off the top rope.
01:43:14And it's almost as if you can feel the momentum switching and changing.
01:43:17Flair upside down.
01:43:19He's on the apron.
01:43:20And a right hand knocks him to the floor.
01:43:22You could feel the momentum changing before he went up top.
01:43:26So it was a mistake for Ric Flair to try that move when Bobby was coming back.
01:43:29And here's your end result right here.
01:43:31Beautiful Bobby now has the opportunity to put Flair away.
01:43:35There's a backbreaker.
01:43:37Tremendous move by beautiful Bobby.
01:43:39That backbreaker.
01:43:42Flair trying to navigate his way back up.
01:43:45And it's beautiful.
01:43:46Bobby with a neckbreaker.
01:43:48He caught him with that neckbreaker.
01:43:51Flair, if he has one weakness, it could be his neck.
01:43:56You're right, and that goes back to the back injury he suffered many years ago.
01:44:00In the airplane crash, where it was broken.
01:44:02And beautiful Bobby now, he's gonna try the Alabama Jam.
01:44:06If he hits it, yeah, he did.
01:44:09He's got it.
01:44:10He hooks the leg.
01:44:13Beautiful Bobby with the first fall.
01:44:15Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the first fall, Beautiful Bobby.
01:44:21There will now be a 30 second rest period between falls.
01:44:27And I'm not so sure the 30 seconds will be enough for Ric Flair to recuperate.
01:44:32What a high risk move.
01:44:33He went for his ace in the first fall.
01:44:36He went for his ace, the Alabama Jam, but
01:44:38what set it up was a swinging neckbreaker.
01:44:40Double trouble on the neck of Nature Boy Ric Flair,
01:44:43who is still down as we're talking and showing you the replay of the first fall.
01:44:47I think Beautiful Bobby may have this match won in two falls, Jim.
01:44:50Beautiful Bobby is standing.
01:44:53Flair having trouble.
01:44:55He's back on his back now, trying to get on his hands and knees there.
01:44:59Flair's neck in tremendous, obviously tremendous pain, his neck injured.
01:45:06As we said, I think it was 75 when Flair went down in a plane crash.
01:45:10That neck is his Achilles heel, so to speak.
01:45:13What a, what rights and lefts by Beautiful Bobby.
01:45:19Flair stood up, can you believe that?
01:45:21Flair came right up and instinctively buried the foot right to the abdomen.
01:45:27Another tremendous chop, and a right hand.
01:45:30Beautiful Bobby has retaliated each and every time, and
01:45:34the World's Heavyweight Championship is in dire straits here.
01:45:39It was a tremendous job, but Flair doesn't have the effects he once had with
01:45:44those jobs because of the neckbreaker.
01:45:46He's got it in a penny for, not close, not close.
01:45:50Six inches away from a new heavyweight champion in two straight falls.
01:45:54Flair can't hold him.
01:45:55Beautiful Bobby again on top, a lateral press, and
01:45:57Flair got the shoulder up, and I mean just barely, ladies and gentlemen.
01:46:01Flair has lost a lot of his upper body strength thanks to the assault by
01:46:04Beautiful Bobby on the neck.
01:46:05Got a neckbreaker again.
01:46:07That's it, this should be all, that is it.
01:46:10Beautiful Bobby, now going for the top, Flair trying to get back up.
01:46:16Beautiful Bobby sees Flair, smart move by Bobby Eaton.
01:46:20Catches Flair with a right hand.
01:46:22He wants to put on the Alabama Jam once again, Jim, it's obvious.
01:46:26But Flair will not stay down.
01:46:29Flair, he got the ropes, and beautiful, my gosh.
01:46:34Eaton went off, his knee hit the floor.
01:46:37Beautiful Bobby's knee hit the concrete floor.
01:46:40Flair shook the ropes, and Bobby Eaton lost his balance standing on the top rope.
01:46:46Jim, that was just like a knee drop, but he hits the concrete floor that time.
01:46:50There's no give right there with the exception of that very thin mat.
01:46:54Referee's counting, he's got ten to get back in here, that's it.
01:46:58Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the second fall as a result of a count out,
01:47:03meet your boy, Ric Flair.
01:47:06Well, Flair still smarting from that neck breaker, but
01:47:10the story right now is right there.
01:47:13Beautiful, Bobby holding his knee.
01:47:18We're about halfway through the rest period.
01:47:23Beautiful, Bobby may not be able to continue here.
01:47:25I don't think he can.
01:47:26I think what's gonna happen is Nick Patrick may just turn around and
01:47:29count ten again, the match will be over with.
01:47:32Flair's neck has been injured.
01:47:36The bell sounds, now we are beginning the third fall.
01:47:39Eaton won the first fall of the Alabama Jam.
01:47:41Flair has just won the second fall via count out, and Eaton holding his leg.
01:47:45He can, I don't know if he can even stand, Tony.
01:47:47He better worry about his career as much as he can the world title.
01:47:51Beautiful Bobby, Flair stood him up.
01:47:53He has to be going through tremendous pain.
01:47:57Beautiful Bobby's, right hand.
01:47:58His mobility has severely, gotta be severely lessened, but
01:48:02he will not quit.
01:48:04The youngster from Huntsville, Alabama, setting the world's champion on the top.
01:48:09Catching him with the right hand.
01:48:11What's he going for here, a superplex?
01:48:13I don't know, I don't know if he can hold him with a superplex.
01:48:17On top, he got it, he got it, and he twisted that neck.
01:48:24He may have him right here, if Beautiful Bobby could get to Flair and
01:48:27cover him here, we may have a new world champion.
01:48:31Now he's crawling there, but that knee is still hurting him.
01:48:33I think the knee prevented him from getting as much effect as he could on
01:48:36the suplex, let's see.
01:48:38Lateral press, we're inches, that was three or four inches.
01:48:44I promise you, three or four inches away from a new world's heavyweight champion.
01:48:49Flair's neck has been battered.
01:48:50Uh-oh, no.
01:48:52And he goes, he tried to bring his knee right across Flair's own leg.
01:48:59And now Flair, with his bonded figure four leg lock,
01:49:02there's none other like it in WCW.
01:49:06He's using the rope for leverage, my God, his leg could be snapped.
01:49:10The referee caught it, good officiating by Nick Patrick.
01:49:14That could have been it right there.
01:49:16I can't see how much more pressure Bobby can take on this knee.
01:49:19What a gutsy performance, just to stay in there.
01:49:22What courage, he's got him, he's got him, he's got him right there, one, two.
01:49:26And hey, man, great instinct by Beautiful Bobby and
01:49:30Flair with a shoulder block right to the knee.
01:49:33Boy, this is everything you tuned in to see, fans, look at it.
01:49:36Flair now, with a figure four, will he get him here?
01:49:43Eden has gotta give it up, his leg will be broken.
01:49:47His leg will be snapped like a twig, cuz nobody in the world can execute
01:49:51the figure four leg lock like Nature Boy Ric Flair.
01:49:56Flair's trying to drive it right in now.
01:49:58Eden is in tremendous pain.
01:50:03Beautiful Bobby Eden, almost white from pain.
01:50:08And Flair's got it locked in as well as he can, he's using the ropes again.
01:50:13For more leverage, look at Eden's ankle, twisted severely against the grain.
01:50:19That's it.
01:50:24Man, Flair used the ropes for additional leverage, but
01:50:27I think at this point, it was academic.
01:50:31What a courageous effort.
01:50:34Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the third and
01:50:39deciding fall and still WCW World Heavyweight Champion,
01:50:44Nature Boy Ric Flair.
01:50:46Tremendous matchup, great courage by Beautiful Bobby Eden and
01:50:53Nature Boy Ric Flair as it stands right now.
01:50:58We'll be facing Lex Luger on July 14th in Baltimore for
01:51:03the World's Heavyweight Championship.
01:51:05But Tony, I think we must, we'd be very remiss if we didn't say that we've seen
01:51:09a tremendously courageous effort by Beautiful Bobby Eden.
01:51:14It would have been very easy for Beautiful Bobby to stay on the outside and
01:51:18not worry about further damage to the knee, but he wouldn't do that.
01:51:21He wanted to get back inside and go for it.
01:51:23He even was able to get Flair up on the top for a superplex,
01:51:27although the effect was not there because of his loss of balance.
01:51:30But Flair really took it home when he drove him in with a figure four leg lock.
01:51:35It has been a tremendous, tremendous night here on TBS, ladies and gentlemen.
01:51:39Tony, we have seen Lex Luger advance to that match we mentioned with a great
01:51:45But what about the situation, an appalling situation with Nikita Koloff and Sting?
01:51:52Nikita Koloff has shown us that he is a man that will not stop until he gets what
01:51:56he wants.
01:51:56What that is, Jim, I don't know.
01:51:58Apparently he wants Sting out of World Championship Wrestling.
01:52:00Someone has to do something.
01:52:02I don't know about the severity of Sting's injury, but you were right there.
01:52:05The Hardliners, Dick Murdoch, Dick Slater, fined $5,000 for accosting the referee.
01:52:10We understand Rick Steiner's arm is being x-rayed.
01:52:13They tried to take him out.
01:52:15They tried to take him out, but they got it done.
01:52:17$5,000 or not, the Hardliners are moving right up quickly.
01:52:20Ladies and gentlemen, for our entire crew, I want to thank Missy Hyatt,
01:52:24Paul E. Danvers, I don't know why Paul E., my colleague Tony Schiavone.
01:52:27Ladies and gentlemen, for our entire crew, I'm Jim Ross.
