00:05:11And we are ready here, ladies and gentlemen.
00:05:13And we are ready here, ladies and gentlemen.
00:05:15We should see a tremendous matchup.
00:05:17But, Dusty, we notice the presence of Teddy Long.
00:05:21He's not here.
00:05:22Have you heard where Teddy Long might be here tonight?
00:05:24I don't know, Jim, but with all of them here now,
00:05:26the camp of doom, who's one of the most powerful teams in the world,
00:05:28that Teddy Long is out buying condos, is out getting limousines,
00:05:31is out getting property throughout the world.
00:05:33I believe very bluntly that Mr. Teddy Long needs to be here
00:05:37because tonight, baby, we can see a change in the guard.
00:05:40New world tag team champions.
00:05:42The Sting and Luger win one for the troops,
00:05:44and we're going to get down with it now, baby.
00:05:47It's going to be Hacksaw Butch Reed starting out against Sting.
00:05:51Referee is Randy Anders for this event.
00:05:53As you can see, this building is jam-packed.
00:05:55They were turned away here tonight.
00:06:01Both men ready to start off with fisticuffs,
00:06:03but when this one settles down,
00:06:05this should be an outstanding wrestling event.
00:06:07Doom, the world tag team champions.
00:06:09It's a dollar-and-oh bow tie-up with Reed and with Sting.
00:06:13Well, I'll tell you right now,
00:06:14there ain't much feeling now between these two guys.
00:06:16Powerful. Both teams are powerful.
00:06:18They want one thing, and that's the goal,
00:06:20the goal of the world's tag team title.
00:06:22Both of them pushing, shoving, backing them up, man.
00:06:24This thing is on fire. I'm excited.
00:06:26And that's the first bow right there, Jimbo.
00:06:29And don't forget, ladies and gentlemen,
00:06:30you can call the wrestling hotline right now until 825
00:06:33and talk perhaps to Nature Boy, Ric Flair, live.
00:06:36He's with Lance Russell and Gordon Soley.
00:06:38They're covering this event on the wrestling hotline.
00:06:40Nice reversal there by the Sting.
00:06:42Hip flop, takes the big man down.
00:06:44He elevates it.
00:06:46They're rocking and rolling at the Georgia Mountain Center.
00:06:50Well, yeah, I'll tell you what, Sting is on fire.
00:06:52Offensively, right here,
00:06:54I know for a fact that the Sting and Lex Luthor
00:06:57have to be very offensively minded
00:06:59because they do not have the titles.
00:07:01They trying to get them.
00:07:02We going for the long bomb.
00:07:03Let's score a touchdown here, baby.
00:07:05Here's the U.S. heavyweight champion,
00:07:07Lex Luthor, been tagged in.
00:07:09Comes off with a powerful blow right off the second turnbuckle.
00:07:12Luthor, four times United States heavyweight champion.
00:07:166'5", 275, and he's all man.
00:07:19I'll tell you what, Jimbo,
00:07:20Lex Luthor possesses one of the greatest bodies,
00:07:23one of the greatest athletic, physical bodies I have ever seen.
00:07:27He is the United States heavyweight champion.
00:07:29He has to be reckoned with,
00:07:31and tonight he has to take the match 2-3.
00:07:35Right here, you gonna see this?
00:07:36Yeah, put him up, baby.
00:07:37I'm sorry, I'm getting excited.
00:07:38Yeah!
00:07:39Nice neck break there by Lex Luthor,
00:07:41the awesome United States heavyweight champion
00:07:44who has a big date.
00:07:45You can circle February 24th on your calendar
00:07:47because Lex Luthor will meet Dangerous Dan Spivey
00:07:50at the third annual Wrestle War
00:07:52for the United States heavyweight title,
00:07:53and of course, that is an exclusive pay-per-view event.
00:07:57Yeah, we know it's coming from Phoenix.
00:07:59Look at this.
00:08:00I've been in there.
00:08:01I know what's going through these two men.
00:08:03Right now, the power right here into a headlock,
00:08:06trying to control Lex Luthor,
00:08:07but I don't think there's a lot of controlling to be done here.
00:08:10Lex gotta be offensively, baby.
00:08:13They collide like two big Mack trucks.
00:08:15And of course, Ron Simmons,
00:08:16a four-time football All-American at Florida State.
00:08:20Kick to the gut there.
00:08:21Ben Slugard down, catches him with that clothesline,
00:08:24and down goes the total package.
00:08:28Simmons is very powerful.
00:08:30I tell you what, he's got to really be on top of his game.
00:08:32Right here, bad work.
00:08:34Bad work, baby.
00:08:35I mean, you're gonna go to the well so many times,
00:08:38and sooner or later, you're gonna come up dry,
00:08:40and that's what happened right there with Mr. Ron Simmons.
00:08:44High-impact match.
00:08:45This is WCW,
00:08:47and we're so happy you're here with us tonight on TBS.
00:08:51Atomic drop.
00:08:53And Simmons in the wrong corner.
00:08:56That's what I'm talking about being offensively.
00:08:58Everything they do tonight, they do them together.
00:09:00Right here, they need to go for a pin right here.
00:09:01It might be they need to be on top right there.
00:09:04Near fall situation as Simmons kicked out before three.
00:09:08He reverses the Irish whip to the ropes,
00:09:10and he's got Lugar out,
00:09:12and he dropped him right over the top rope.
00:09:16Well, that right there, Jimbo,
00:09:18is one of the reasons that Big Ron
00:09:21can lead all-world tag team champions.
00:09:23Ladies and gentlemen, we've got to take
00:09:24our first commercial break,
00:09:25but if we have a decision rendered,
00:09:26we'll show it to you immediately following this time out.
00:09:36We are back live, ladies and gentlemen,
00:09:37at the Georgia Mountain Center,
00:09:38Jim Ross and Dusty Rhodes at ringside.
00:09:40This is the Clash of Champions,
00:09:42and during the commercial break,
00:09:43Lex Lugar was double teamed by Sting,
00:09:46or by, excuse me, not by his own partner,
00:09:48but by Doom, and he is really having to suck it up here.
00:09:53I'll tell you what, Big Jimbo,
00:09:54during that break right here,
00:09:55Ron Simmons showed me why he possesses
00:09:58some of the greatest athletic ability
00:09:59you've ever seen in one wrestler
00:10:02or one ex-football player
00:10:03or one great athlete around the country.
00:10:05Ron Simmons is truly a great athlete.
00:10:07Lex Lugar has been on the bottom of this thing
00:10:10since the get-go.
00:10:11He has to reach down, grab all he's got.
00:10:14He's got to get to Sting.
00:10:15He's got to be offensive.
00:10:16He's got to come up with something.
00:10:18Just like that right there, baby.
00:10:20Both these men have tremendous football backgrounds.
00:10:23And that's indicative of the athleticism in WCW.
00:10:26Simmons trying to make the tag to Hacksaw Butch Reed,
00:10:29and he does so.
00:10:30Lugar desperately needs to make the tag here
00:10:32to Sting if possible,
00:10:33but Reed, a seasoned veteran, will have none of that.
00:10:37I'll tell you what, Jimbo,
00:10:38it's hard to make a tag when you're as woozy
00:10:41as he is right now.
00:10:42He's got to regroup himself.
00:10:43He's been having to take a storm.
00:10:45Right here, he's firing back.
00:10:46He needs to stay right there.
00:10:48One, hit him again, baby.
00:10:50Hit him again.
00:10:51Yeah.
00:10:53Reed with a dropkick.
00:10:55Puts Lugar down.
00:10:56Thunderous dropkick by Hacksaw Butch Reed.
00:10:59Reed played football for the Kansas City Chiefs.
00:11:02He was a real headhunting linebacker.
00:11:04And there's that big, big arm,
00:11:06over 20-inch guns around that reverse chinlock
00:11:10around Lex Lugar.
00:11:12You know one thing I think that every,
00:11:14we're talking about the football background,
00:11:15I think every great football player
00:11:17wants to be a professional wrestler
00:11:19because they know they want to take that career
00:11:21just a notch higher,
00:11:22just to be a little bit better,
00:11:24just to be a little bit one-on-one
00:11:26to show what you really got down in there.
00:11:28We ain't got no helmets.
00:11:29We ain't got no shoulder pads.
00:11:30We got guts, determination,
00:11:32and we got some men here
00:11:34fighting for the greatest prize,
00:11:35tag team prize in the WCW.
00:11:38WCW World Heavyweight Tag Team Champions
00:11:41make the tag.
00:11:42Ron Simmons back in.
00:11:44And they have punished Lex Lugar.
00:11:46It is a tremendous accomplishment
00:11:48for Lex Lugar to survive
00:11:50this onslaught by these awesome
00:11:51World Tag Team Champions.
00:11:54Lugar taking Simmons face down.
00:11:57Now this may give Lugar the opportunity
00:11:59to make the tag
00:12:01if he can focus on his corner.
00:12:03You've got to get around.
00:12:04Turn around, Lex.
00:12:05You've got to turn around.
00:12:06Understand that Steve's fresh.
00:12:08Steve's ready.
00:12:09He needs to get this thing right right here.
00:12:11What's coming off there?
00:12:12Reed with a big shoulder block
00:12:14sends Lugar back near Lugar's corner.
00:12:16What a move there by Reed
00:12:18coming off the top rope.
00:12:19There he is.
00:12:20He made that tag.
00:12:21There he is.
00:12:22The Stinger comes in.
00:12:23On fire.
00:12:24Full of fist and fire.
00:12:25The Stinger comes in.
00:12:27Wait a minute, Dusty.
00:12:28That's dangerous Dan Spivey.
00:12:30That's Danny Spivey right there.
00:12:31Danny Spivey and Lex Lugar.
00:12:32Spivey, him and Lugar.
00:12:34Brother, this is Stinger
00:12:35with the thing that's getting ready
00:12:36to happen at the Phoenix Zone
00:12:38in the pay-per-view
00:12:39coming up right here
00:12:40at Russell Wall.
00:12:41Third annual right here.
00:12:42What's going on in the ring here?
00:12:43Look at this.
00:12:44Come on, Stinger.
00:12:45Yeah.
00:12:46Double clothesline by the man
00:12:47from Venice Beach, California.
00:12:48That's Dan Spivey.
00:12:50It's just dominating Lex Lugar.
00:12:52Lugar was so punished by Doom.
00:12:54Spivey caught him from behind.
00:12:56Spivey has done his damage.
00:12:58He's leaving the building.
00:13:00Danny Spivey's leaving the building.
00:13:02Lex Lugar's laid out right here.
00:13:03They're double teaming right here.
00:13:05Lugar needs to get up right here
00:13:06because here they come with that.
00:13:07Oh, that's a shot right there.
00:13:09Come on, Stinger.
00:13:11The referee knocked outside
00:13:12right by Lugar.
00:13:14And now Stinger's in there
00:13:15with both members of Doom.
00:13:18Sting going for Reed.
00:13:20And Reed tossed him over the top.
00:13:22The referee's seen that
00:13:23that's gonna be it, baby.
00:13:24That's gonna be disqualification.
00:13:25I'm worried about Lugar
00:13:26because they're going after him
00:13:27right over here.
00:13:28They need to get some type
00:13:29of law and order out of here, brother.
00:13:32Ladies and gentlemen,
00:13:34the winners as a result
00:13:36of a disqualification,
00:13:37the team of Lex Lugar and Sting.
00:13:40Doom will retain the tag team titles,
00:13:42but this one isn't over.
00:13:43Oh, yeah.
00:13:44High cross body by the Stinger.
00:13:46Lugar is still weakened
00:13:47from that attack
00:13:48by Dangerous Dennis Spivey.
00:13:50Standing crop kick by Sting.
00:13:57Big right hand.
00:13:59All right, there we go, baby.
00:14:01Now, I want to know one thing.
00:14:03I want to know where
00:14:04Dangerous Dennis Spivey is.
00:14:05Lex Lugar needs to turn
00:14:07his attention right here
00:14:08to one fact.
00:14:09Has Dennis Spivey come in,
00:14:10made a move, got him from behind?
00:14:12He needs to find out, brother.
00:14:14I know on his mind right now
00:14:15is one thing,
00:14:16and that's Dennis Spivey,
00:14:17because it just cost them
00:14:19the world's tag team titles.
00:14:21Let's take a look at what happened
00:14:22just a few moments ago.
00:14:24Lugar and Sting winning
00:14:25by disqualification,
00:14:26and this is what happened, Dre.
00:14:27Well, right here, you see Sting
00:14:28going for the cross body,
00:14:29and right here, it's dumped
00:14:30over the top.

00:14:32a disqualification.
00:14:33It's a bad thing that happened,
00:14:34but, brother, right here,
00:14:36you see the man, Mr. Anderson,
00:14:37calling for the bell.
00:14:38This match is history.

00:14:43as this man right here,
00:14:44Dangerous Dennis Spivey,
00:14:46viciously attacking Lex Lugar.

00:17:44This should be a great,
00:17:45great matchup.
00:17:47Beautiful Bobby has amassed
00:17:48a tremendous reputation
00:17:49basically as a tag-team wrestler,
00:17:51but he desperately wants
00:17:52to prove to the world
00:17:53that he is a great athlete
00:17:54in singles competition as well.
00:17:56We all know that he is,
00:17:57but he wants that championship
00:17:59to dot the i's, so to speak,
00:18:01as he pushes the Z-Man
00:18:02into the corner.
00:18:03And the Z-Man will not be
00:18:04intimidated by Beautiful Bobby.
00:18:06Well, I think that's one
00:18:07of the things that is
00:18:08the most important is
00:18:10the Z-Man intimidation.
00:18:12Bobby Eden is used to
00:18:13intimidating people.
00:18:14Used to setting the pace
00:18:15a little slower than other people
00:18:17and taking and wearing a man down.
00:18:19But the Z-Man right here,
00:18:20you see a great move by Bobby Eden.
00:18:23And in times of Z-Man's thoughts
00:18:26right now is,
00:18:27I know this guy here
00:18:28is after one thing,
00:18:29and it belongs to me.
00:18:30It's my title,
00:18:31and I can't let him have it.
00:18:33Side headlock by Beautiful Bobby
00:18:34on the Z-Man.
00:18:37Z-Man trying to waist lock
00:18:38his way out of it.
00:18:40Well, you know right here,
00:18:41a lot of pressure at the flat.
00:18:42Like I said, Bobby Eden's
00:18:43the kind of wrestler
00:18:44that will wear a man down.
00:18:45This right here might give
00:18:47Bobby Eden, see that?
00:18:48He is so smart, so cagey.
00:18:50He knows where the ropes are.
00:18:51He knows how to get out,
00:18:52and he knows how to maintain.
00:18:54Once he wears the Z-Man down,
00:18:56he's gonna go for the kill,
00:18:57if you will.
00:18:59Fans a little bit later
00:19:00in the program,
00:19:01but we're gonna hear a comment
00:19:02from Alexandra York,
00:19:03the head of the York Foundation.
00:19:05She's got big news tonight.
00:19:06She says she is going

00:19:19and city to city,
00:19:20going for that big pay-per-view
00:19:21in Phoenix, Arizona.
00:19:22These two men right here
00:19:23surely will be able to,
00:19:24but right here,
00:19:25Bobby Eden has to take
00:19:26a step towards being
00:19:27that great single champion
00:19:28that I know he can be.
00:19:30Z-Man has the title, brother,
00:19:32and I know,
00:19:33not only being sexy
00:19:34like me and Z-Man,
00:19:35all very sexy-looking
00:19:36individuals,
00:19:37that he is a great competitor.
00:19:41We saw Missy Hyde
00:19:42a little earlier.
00:19:43She was very happy
00:19:44they named that man
00:19:45as the sexy wrestler
00:19:47after the votes were tabulated.
00:19:49And we'll see Missy Hyde
00:19:51and Paulie Dangerously
00:19:52in that long-awaited
00:19:53arm wrestling contest
00:19:54a little bit later
00:19:55to broadcast as well
00:19:56as beautiful Bobby works
00:19:57on the arm of the Z-Man.
00:19:59Bobby knows
00:20:00every leverage point
00:20:01in the book.
00:20:02He is a veteran,
00:20:03a consummate professional.
00:20:04Well, Bobby Eden
00:20:05studies a lot of game plays,
00:20:07a lot of game magic.
00:20:08What I'm talking about,
00:20:09that to the wrestling fans,
00:20:10he watches tapes
00:20:11on these guys.
00:20:12He knows their weaknesses.
00:20:13He knows what needs to be done.
00:20:14As I said earlier,
00:20:15Jimbo,
00:20:16he's trying to wear
00:20:17this man down,
00:20:18working on one point.
00:20:20Fast over get tonight.
00:20:21If you call before 825
00:20:23Eastern Time tonight,
00:20:25you'll have the opportunity
00:20:26to talk live
00:20:27to Nature Boy Ric Flair.
00:20:28What a dropkick!
00:20:29He dropkicked him
00:20:30right off the top turnbuckle.
00:20:31That's great athleticism
00:20:32by the world television champion,
00:20:34the Z-Man.
00:20:35Well, I tell you what,
00:20:36these guys are getting
00:20:37younger, stronger, and faster.
00:20:38I'll tell you,
00:20:39Z-Man is a tremendous athlete.
00:20:41That was a great athletic move.
00:20:43The only move
00:20:44like I've seen like that
00:20:45by an athletic competitor
00:20:46that's on this card tonight,
00:20:47a Mr. Fry and Brian Pielman
00:20:49can do it like nobody can,
00:20:51and that was a great move,
00:20:52so I know he's been watching
00:20:54Mr. Pielman just a little bit.
00:20:56You know, they were
00:20:57former tag partners,
00:20:58and they were the
00:20:59United States Tag Team Champions
00:21:00portion of 1990.
00:21:02They mesh really well together,
00:21:05but they have gone
00:21:06their separate ways.
00:21:07Still great friends,
00:21:08but they both have mountains
00:21:09to climb as one-on-one wrestlers,
00:21:11and of course,
00:21:12the Z-Man is the
00:21:13world television champion,
00:21:14one of the most prestigious titles
00:21:15in our sport today.
00:21:16Well, I know that so, baby,
00:21:17because I held it many years,
00:21:19and it was a very important
00:21:21title to me.
00:21:22Right here,
00:21:23both of these men,
00:21:24Bobby Eaton,
00:21:25the stinking man.
00:21:26Every move ready,
00:21:27reliable ready.
00:21:28He's the kind of guy
00:21:29that'll take it to the post
00:21:30any time you're ready.
00:21:31Right here now,
00:21:32he backs the guy in.
00:21:33I know Bobby Eaton's thinking
00:21:34about nailing this guy
00:21:35in the chops, Jack.
00:21:36Oh, Lord, call it.
00:21:37And he does it.
00:21:38Ooh, somebody give me
00:21:39a pencil to draw a play.
00:21:40Big right hand by
00:21:42beautiful Bobby,
00:21:43and the Z-Man retaliates.
00:21:46Yeah, well, he needs
00:21:47the Z-Man as the fire,
00:21:49and he needs to understand
00:21:51this man is after
00:21:52something belongs to him.
00:21:53He needs to fire
00:21:55just a little bit.
00:21:56When Bobby fired that in there,
00:21:57he need to fire back, brother.
00:21:58He don't need to wait.
00:21:59You need to go and get it.
00:22:00Don't stand and wait for it.
00:22:02Go get it.
00:22:03Some of the toughest
00:22:04in the world are standing
00:22:05in the wings,
00:22:06awaiting the outcome
00:22:07of this match.
00:22:08Men like Arn Anderson
00:22:09and Terry Taylor,
00:22:10just to name a few,
00:22:11that want the opportunity
00:22:12to wrestle the Z-Man
00:22:13for the World Television
00:22:14Championship.
00:22:15A test of strength here.
00:22:16Z-Man might have the advantage
00:22:18in the strength department
00:22:19dream.
00:22:20Well, I think he does
00:22:21just a little bit,
00:22:22but as Bobby Eaton,
00:22:23like I told you,
00:22:24he knows where to go,
00:22:25how to get out.
00:22:26Right there,
00:22:27another shot to the jaw.
00:22:28Bobby Eaton right now
00:22:29is starting to take control
00:22:30of the situation.
00:22:31Bobby Eaton now
00:22:32after that right hand,
00:22:33ramming the handsome features
00:22:34of the Z-Man
00:22:35into the top turnbuckle.
00:22:36Eaton turning it up
00:22:37a notch here.
00:22:38He won't make
00:22:39many mistakes, Dusty.
00:22:40That'll knock your
00:22:41noggin right there.
00:22:42I remember my mama,
00:22:43when she used to get mad,
00:22:44she'd take a switch
00:22:45and hit me on top of the head,
00:22:46much less a turnbuckle.
00:22:47And that'll get you
00:22:48dizzy-lizzy
00:22:49and ready for it.
00:22:50Senior referee
00:22:51at WCW,
00:22:52Nick Patrick,
00:22:53is behind this
00:22:54championship event.
00:22:55Eaton catches Z-Man
00:22:56coming out of the corner
00:22:57with the elbow.
00:22:58And beautiful Bobby
00:22:59who creates
00:23:00a great deal of offense
00:23:01from the top rope
00:23:02is going there now.
00:23:03But the Z-Man
00:23:04has him well scouted.
00:23:05He's up
00:23:06with those right hands.
00:23:07He's going to bring him
00:23:08down from the top.
00:23:09Big slam there.
00:23:10Oh, yeah,
00:23:11and that hurts right now.
00:23:12Z-Man's got to stay on him.
00:23:13He came back off of him.
00:23:14He's got to stay on him
00:23:15because he's got to go
00:23:16for the pin,
00:23:17and that's the name
00:23:18of the game.
00:23:19He's got to go
00:23:20for the pin right here.
00:23:21Bobby Eaton up.
00:23:22He's taking a toll
00:23:23on Bobby Eaton
00:23:24right here.
00:23:25He may be at right here,
00:23:26and he got two.
00:23:27Thought he had him there.
00:23:28The Irish whip.
00:23:29He's going to try it again.
00:23:30You don't want to go
00:23:31to the well too often
00:23:32with this move.
00:23:33Oh, yeah, brother.
00:23:34We heard that one
00:23:35around the world.
00:23:36That one was laid in
00:23:37right there.
00:23:38Bobby Eaton going up
00:23:39right here.
00:23:40This could be it, Jimbo,
00:23:41right here, baby.
00:23:42Beautiful Bobby up on top.
00:23:43If he hits it,
00:23:44we'll have a new
00:23:45television champion.
00:23:46There it is
00:23:47right on the heart.
00:23:48Yeah.
00:23:49Right above the heart,
00:23:50that knee.
00:23:51He's going to go
00:23:52for the ropes.
00:23:53I'll see if Bobby Eaton
00:23:54can capitalize
00:23:55on that big offensive move.
00:23:56I'll tell you,
00:23:57that blow took him
00:23:58to the ropes.
00:23:59If it hadn't
00:24:00took him over the ropes,
00:24:01Bobby Eaton would've
00:24:02took it right here.
00:24:03It's a cradle.
00:24:04Eaton kicks out.
00:24:05Z-Man now is fighting
00:24:06for his professional life here.
00:24:07His television championship's
00:24:08on the line.
00:24:09Sends him for the ride.
00:24:10There's a neck breaker.
00:24:11Another big offensive move
00:24:12by beautiful Bobby.
00:24:13Will he go for the cover?
00:24:14Yes, he will.
00:24:15He's got the leg neutralized
00:24:16and a half a count away.
00:24:17Boy, he's just got
00:24:18to stay on him
00:24:19just a little bit more
00:24:20right here because
00:24:21he's got him
00:24:22reeling and rocking.
00:24:23This could be it.
00:24:24Trying to suplex him.
00:24:25Z-Man
00:24:26rolls him up.
00:24:27Can he hold him down?
00:24:28No, he cannot.
00:24:29That's a two count.
00:24:30Bobby Eaton's
00:24:31smart as a cat,
00:24:32I'm telling you.
00:24:33Eaton again,
00:24:34the Irish hip to the ropes.
00:24:35Z-Man trying to reverse it.
00:24:36He's got both arms cut.
00:24:37He's got him down.
00:24:38Can he hold him?
00:24:39Yes, he does.

00:25:04Bobby Eaton's
00:25:05trying to recoup,
00:25:06trying to get back up.
00:25:07Z-Man,
00:25:08like I said earlier,
00:25:09gives him no chance.
00:25:10Karate kick
00:25:11to the head
00:25:12and right here,
00:25:13Bobby Eaton

00:25:20his patented hip toss.
00:25:21Right here,
00:25:22you see Z-Man duck in,
00:25:23coming in there,
00:25:24going to do a patented,
00:25:25almost like a Dusty Rhodes
00:25:26backsliding.
00:25:27Here we go.
00:25:28Now right here,
00:25:29instant replay.
00:25:30I don't know if this is a one,
00:25:31two, three.
00:25:32That's two.
00:25:33Whoa, I don't know
00:25:34what I called that one.
00:25:35It was very close, fans.
00:25:36Well,
00:25:37Miss Alexandra York,
00:25:38the head of the York Foundation,
00:25:39is standing by.
00:25:40Let's hear her statement now.
00:25:41Later on this evening,
00:25:42the York Foundation
00:25:43has a very special
00:25:44announcement
00:25:45to make.
00:25:46At that time,
00:25:47we will reveal
00:25:48our latest member.
00:25:49This is an acquisition
00:25:50of which
00:25:51I am very pleased.
00:25:52I have made
00:25:53a good selection.
00:25:55Ladies and gentlemen,
00:26:18the following tag team event.
00:26:21It is set for a one-fall.
00:26:23From Atlanta, Georgia, 225 pounds,
00:26:27Wildfire Tommy Rich!
00:26:32His partner from Natawaka, Kansas,
00:26:35221 pounds,
00:26:37Alan Iron Eagle!
00:26:44Alan Iron Eagle and Tommy Wildfire Rich
00:26:46just have a great challenge ahead of them.
00:26:49Well, I know one thing, Tommy Rich,
00:26:50one of my favorite people in all the world,
00:26:52and I'm looking forward to this because here comes
00:26:54two of them old boys called the Freebirds!
00:26:57And ladies and gentlemen, their opponents
00:27:00from Backstreet, USA, in Atlanta, Georgia,
00:27:03the greatest rock and roll band of all time,
00:27:07the Fabulous Freebirds!
00:27:14Michael P.S. Hayes and Jimmy Jam Garvin,
00:27:17former world tag team champions.
00:27:19And never count them out because they want
00:27:22a title, whether it be the Steiner's
00:27:23United States tag title, or for that matter,
00:27:26do they want titles, they want the money,
00:27:28they want the prestige, that's what they're
00:27:30in the sport for, but they've got a challenge
00:27:32because, the way I look at it, Tommy Wildfire Rich
00:27:35and Alan Iron Eagle got nothing to lose
00:27:36in everything the game in this one does.
00:27:38Well, they got everything to gain in this match,
00:27:40but you know, before we get into this match,
00:27:41which is exciting on fire, I'm a Bobby Eaton fan,
00:27:45and I would like to see that somewhere down the road here,
00:27:48a little replay on that thing, though.
00:27:49I think Bobby Eaton might've just
00:27:51eased that shoulder up just a little bit,
00:27:53but we ain't got no instant replay here,
00:27:55and no judges up in the booth to tell us
00:27:57that let's bring that ball back and put it on the ten.
00:28:00You know, fans, they're in a program.
00:28:01We saw the world tag team champions, Doom.
00:28:04Without Teddy Long, Paulie Danvers will be talking to Doom

00:28:18Michael P.S. Hayes and Tommy Wildfire Rich.
00:28:21It was 1981, right here in the very state of Georgia,
00:28:24when Tommy Rich became the world's heavyweight champion.
00:28:27Well, like I said, he is one of my favorite people.
00:28:29He's a tremendous athlete, a great wrestler.
00:28:31He has been the world's heavyweight champion.
00:28:33There's only a handful of men that's been there, baby,
00:28:35and right here, he's got his hand full,
00:28:37but I know Mr. Tommy Rich gonna take care of business.
00:28:39Watch out, coming off the top.
00:28:41Yeah, he's doing the light Fandango on both these boys.
00:28:44Tommy Wildfire Rich and Alan Iron Eagle
00:28:46nailing the Freebirds here.
00:28:49Jimmy Jim Garvin is the legal man in the ring.
00:28:51He made that blind tag, and Tommy Wildfire Rich
00:28:55tags in the 20-year-old youngster, Alan Iron Eagle.
00:29:006'2", 221, good kid.
00:29:02Well, I know that in every sport, when you're a rookie,
00:29:05you're really trying to prove yourself
00:29:07to get a start in sparring.
00:29:08I know this kid got what it takes.
00:29:10He just maybe need a little bit of experience
00:29:12because he's in there with two of the most experienced men
00:29:15in the world of wrestling today, but he's taking it to him.
00:29:19Alan Iron Eagle, those right hands,
00:29:20again, chopping Michael Hayes.
00:29:23Iron Eagle showing a lot of tenacity,
00:29:24but his eyes are raked there.
00:29:26That's gonna slow him down, quite obviously,
00:29:28as Garvin goes to the far side.
00:29:30Now, he made the tag to Michael Hayes.
00:29:32Will Alan Iron Eagle react to it?
00:29:34Well, he didn't have to.
00:29:35Garvin took the reaction out of him.
00:29:36I'll tell you what that is.
00:29:37That's just a rookie mistake.
00:29:38The great move there made by Jimmy Garvin
00:29:41to Michael Hayes, and right here he goes.
00:29:42There it is, maybe.
00:29:43That might be it.
00:29:44There's a bulldog headlock by Michael Hayes,
00:29:46but he's so arrogant, so cocky, didn't go for the pin here.
00:29:50He wanted to bump and grind a little bit.
00:29:51Yeah, when he was bumping and grinding,
00:29:53he should have been a pinning,
00:29:54and he didn't get the pinning,
00:29:55and right now I just got a feeling
00:29:57that Iron Eagle might reach down in that rookie body of his
00:30:00and bring this thing back together
00:30:01because Michael P.S. Hayes can be had,
00:30:04and he can be had tonight right here,
00:30:06live and in color across the world.
00:30:09The Freebirds have signed to be on that phenomenal card
00:30:11in the Omni in Atlanta on Sunday night, February the 17th.
00:30:14What an awesome card that will be,
00:30:17and we'll tell you more about it this weekend
00:30:18right here on TBS.
00:30:20Iron Eagle's head ran viciously into the top turnbuckle.
00:30:23Snapmare by Michael Hayes and the reverse chinlock.
00:30:26Right now, the Freebirds are controlling the tempo,
00:30:29and they're controlling the offense.
00:30:31The Cajun veterans, they're trying to control the tempo,
00:30:34which they are, as you said.
00:30:36Now, Jimmy Garvin is over there.
00:30:38He's got a little rest.
00:30:40Michael P.S. Hayes, as we know,
00:30:42will make a tag here hopefully in a minute,
00:30:44and they will niche together and wear this young man down.
00:30:48But what this guy has to remember,
00:30:50Iron Eagle has to remember that he is a rookie
00:30:52in the greatest sport in the world,
00:30:54and to gain another step up the ladder,
00:30:56to be somebody in public, if you will,
00:30:59is he's got to pick this spot to shine
00:31:01because we all shining tonight with WCW across the world.
00:31:05Iron Eagle back up in the vertical base
00:31:07to release some of the pressure.
00:31:08Nice move to take Hayes' way.
00:31:10Oh, Hayes!
00:31:11He just stunned him with that move.
00:31:13He stopped him cold in his tracks.
00:31:15Yeah, yeah, he was either a miss
00:31:18or air close enough to skill.
00:31:22Powerful chop by Michael Hayes,
00:31:24taking the youngster outside.
00:31:27He's walking down Badd Street right now,
00:31:29a long way from Minnetonka, Kansas.
00:31:32I tell you what, I've been down Badd Street with these guys,
00:31:34and there ain't no street to be on
00:31:36if you ain't a bully like Dusty Rhodes from Austin, Texas,
00:31:39because I had my noggin knocked by both these guys,
00:31:43and they are bad, vicious, and mean when they want to be.
00:31:49Hayes, that big forearm round the back of that Iron Eagle.
00:31:54I tell you what I'm wondering, Mr. Jimbo Ross,
00:31:56I wonder if there is a Badd Street in Phoenix.
00:31:59That is on a pay-per-view, the 24th.
00:32:01We going to be coming from there.
00:32:03I'm going to be there with you, baby.
00:32:04Bound to be.
00:32:06Exclusively on pay-per-view.
00:32:08You'd like to see it, fans.
00:32:09Call your local cable company.
00:32:11Call them early.
00:32:12Order early.
00:32:13Call your cable company for availability.
00:32:15Alan Iron Eagle, how much longer can this youngster hold on?
00:32:18Remember, he's only 20 years of age.
00:32:21He's a baby in the sport.
00:32:23And he made some rookie mistakes
00:32:24that got him in this situation that he's in.
00:32:27And the situation that he's in
00:32:29is he's getting thumped pretty hard by two KJ veterans.
00:32:32Another point I'd like to bring up, Dusty.
00:32:34Oh, Garvin, he's got a mistake.
00:32:36We got a rookie referee in there, too.
00:32:38I wonder if the Freebirds will try to take advantage
00:32:40of Lee Scott, the official's inexperience.
00:32:42They would take advantage of the referee.
00:32:44They'd take advantage of me.
00:32:45They'd take advantage of you.
00:32:46They'd take advantage of the mama if they had to.
00:32:48What this kid needs to do right here
00:32:50is get to going with it.
00:32:51He's got Tommy Rich right here, fresh.
00:32:54He needs to take it to him.
00:32:57Jimmy Jam Garvin sending Iron Eagle for the ride
00:33:00while Tommy Rich does a number on Michael Hayes.
00:33:04All four men in the ring.
00:33:05The referee a little lost here.
00:33:06He's got to restore some order.
00:33:08Hayes elbowed outside.
00:33:09Iron Eagle has got Garvin pinned.
00:33:11Yeah, he's got to pin, turn around.
00:33:13He's got him pinned and Hayes caught him
00:33:15right in the back of the head.
00:33:18The young kid from Kansas had to pin there.
00:33:21Yeah, we're talking about a rookie referee here.
00:33:22He needs to turn around and see what's happening
00:33:24because what's going on right here,
00:33:25it looks like he's got a block on him.
00:33:27I like it.
00:33:28Iron Eagle blocked the suplex.
00:33:30Executed one of his own.
00:33:31Now can he tag Tommy Rich?
00:33:33Yes, he does.
00:33:34A good wildfire.
00:33:35He made the tag.
00:33:35Wildfire comes in with right hands.
00:33:37What the ref, he didn't see it.
00:33:40He did not see the tag.
00:33:41We got a tag there.
00:33:42We had a tag, Jim Ross, right here.
00:33:43We talking about-
00:33:44Double DDT.
00:33:47Pain blew the nag in him now.
00:33:49The referee did not see the tag.
00:33:50That was a rookie mistake.
00:33:52And a double DDT turned out the lights and the teepee.
00:33:55Ladies and gentlemen, here are your winners.
00:33:59The Fabulous Freebirds.
00:34:03The Fabulous Freebirds won a title.
00:34:05Whether it's the Steiner's US title,
00:34:07whether it's the Doom, a world tag title.
00:34:10They want some gold.
00:34:11We're going to take a look at this Bulldog Headlock Dust.
00:34:12Right here, he goes into the Bulldog.
00:34:14Right here, I thought this might be it
00:34:15because they had the kid wore down.
00:34:17Iron Eagle, the rookie, a great rookie.
00:34:19A great future in front of him.
00:34:20Wore down, I thought this was it.
00:34:22Michael Hayes turned his attention away from him.
00:34:24Gave him a little fresh air.
00:34:26But right here, the dreaded double DDT, brother.
00:34:29And this will give you a headache in the morning,
00:34:31in the night, or whenever you want to walk around with it.
00:34:33And this thing is over for the rookie, Iron Eagle.
00:34:36Freebirds on top once again.
00:34:38Looking for the World Tag Team title
00:34:40or the United States Tag Team title.

00:35:57He's talking to me.
00:35:59I know that I've seen your workout.
00:36:01I've seen that maybe that the opposite sex
00:36:06was not really missing,
00:36:08that you might be leaning towards the other side
00:36:11just a little bit.
00:36:14You'll see tonight, Dusty Rhodes, let me tell you.
00:36:18I ain't do what you don't make me come up
00:36:20and get on your honey, Johnny.
00:36:24What I wanna ask you is,
00:36:27tonight, are you gonna let all these men in the world down
00:36:32and let a woman beat you in an arm wrestling contest?
00:36:36You see, tonight, what I'm gonna do, Dusty Rhodes,
00:36:41you're the American dream.

00:36:46of Missy Hyatt.
00:36:47Tonight, when I put her arm down,
00:36:50I have a dream that every man in America,
00:36:54uncultured white man in black,
00:36:56Jew and Gentile, red and brown,
00:36:58will stand up united and say,
00:37:01free at last, free at last!
00:37:04Thank God Almighty, we're free at last!
00:37:07All right, let's go back to the ring.
00:37:09Get in, Missy, go get in, Missy, Missy, Missy, Missy, Missy.
00:37:14Huh?
00:37:18Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest,
00:37:21it is set for one fall.
00:37:24Introducing first, from Baltimore, Maryland,
00:37:28he weighs 225 pounds,
00:37:32Jumpin' Joey Mags!
00:37:42Jumpin' Joey Mags has a very tall order ahead of him.
00:37:47It's about six feet, nine inches worth of tall order, Dust.
00:37:50Very simply facing the most awesome force
00:37:53in professional wrestling today,
00:37:55Mr. Sid Vicious, without a doubt,
00:37:57destined to be a champion in the greatest sport on Earth,
00:38:01WCW professional wrestling,
00:38:03rolling thunder to another one,
00:38:05coming live in any color, look at him, baby.
00:38:08And ladies and gentlemen, his opponent.
00:38:20Oh, my goodness.
00:38:30From anywhere he darn well pleases,
00:38:35he weighs 333 pounds,
00:38:39Big Sid Vicious!
00:38:44He is the biggest horseman,
00:38:46and on February 24th, exclusively on pay-per-view,
00:38:49he will step inside two rings,
00:38:51completely enclosed by steel, with a top on it.
00:38:54And the key terms that I want to reiterate here,
00:38:57it's submission or surrender,
00:38:59and that's right down the big man's alley.
00:39:01Well, I've been inside, brother,
00:39:02and this man will not submit, surrender,
00:39:04and I think Mr. Mags looked the best
00:39:06when he came to the ring,
00:39:07because I guarantee you, that's his final move.
00:39:11Joey Mags, an outstanding young prospect,
00:39:14225 pounds, that's big on most men's standards,
00:39:18Big Sid Vicious, 333, look at the strength.
00:39:21Well, I'm gonna tell you what, like I said earlier,
00:39:22Sid Vicious is the era of professional wrestling,
00:39:26right here, I'm gonna tell you what,
00:39:27Mr. Sid Vicious is awesome, Mr. Sid Vicious is bad,
00:39:31and Mr. Dusty Rosie McInerney is glad he's retired,
00:39:34and sitting out here with Jimbo Ross.
00:39:37Sid Vicious on a real vendetta in recent weeks.
00:39:40He has hired his own emergency medical technicians
00:39:42to come to the arenas.
00:39:44We've seen it on many occasions.
00:39:46He beats his opponent, he beats him unmercifully,
00:39:49he power bombs him, and then they carry him out.
00:39:51He is a sadistic human being.
00:39:53What a clothesline in the back of the head.
00:39:55The most devastating hope in professional wrestling
00:39:56for many years was Ric Flair,
00:39:58the world heavyweight champion,
00:40:00figure four leg lock, the power bomb,
00:40:01which just might be it right here, Jimbo.
00:40:03Oh, good grief!
00:40:05He just slammed him, Mags is out of it.
00:40:08The big monster, the biggest horseman of them all
00:40:11has won it.
00:40:13Here's your winner, Big Sid Vicious!
00:40:18Vicious, I saw him motion to the locker room area
00:40:21for his EMT people to come out.
00:40:24Joey Mags is in dire need of medical attention.
00:40:28We take another look at it.
00:40:29Look at this strength.
00:40:30Right here with the strength of Sid Vicious,
00:40:31and I said right here, he is so strong,
00:40:34he is so agile, he is so determined,
00:40:36he is so bad, he is destined for greatness.
00:40:39Sid Vicious has no equal in this sport today,
00:40:44and right here, the power bomb, brother,
00:40:46takes him home, loading him on the stretcher.
00:40:49This day is history.
00:40:51And we're back live, Vicious,
00:40:53his own EMTs put Joey Mags on the stretcher,
00:40:56and Vicious just came out and knocked Mags
00:40:58to the floor again.
00:40:59Let me tell you something, Jimbo Ross,
00:41:00he is trying to make a statement,
00:41:02and he's making it very good.
00:41:03The statement that he is making
00:41:05is that Sid Vicious rules the world
00:41:08of professional wrestling in 1991,
00:41:10and make no mistake about it, baby,
00:41:13Sid Vicious is bad to the bone.

00:42:14it's submit or surrender in the cage,
00:42:16and that's gotta be right down Sid Vicious' alley,
00:42:19because once again, he sends a guy out with the stretcher.
00:42:23Tony, I'm asking you something.
00:42:25I'm asking you to move on.
00:42:27And I'm asking you to be in front of that camera.
00:42:30Can you smell it?
00:42:32Can you smell it?
00:42:36Can you smell the fear?
00:42:39The fear that's in everybody's mind
00:42:42when they walk and they get in the ring.
00:42:45They know there's only one way out,
00:42:47and the fear is you're gonna be stretchered out
00:42:51courtesy of the Powerbomb.
00:42:54Now in 1991, I'll have a goal,
00:42:58and when I reach that goal,
00:43:01there will be no doubt in 1991,
00:43:05that Sid Vicious rules the world.
00:43:09The awesome power of Sid Vicious, back to the ring.
00:43:15Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest,
00:43:18it is set for a one-fall.
00:43:20Introducing first, from Nashville, Tennessee,
00:43:25one-half of the Rock and Roll Express,
00:43:28Ricky Martin!
00:43:32One of the most outstanding competitors in the sport today,
00:43:35Ricky Martin, 215 pounder from Nashville.
00:43:38Dust, this should be a great scientific event
00:43:40we're about to see.
00:43:42You know, just a little bit earlier,
00:43:43I was talking about Tommy Rich,
00:43:44but I'm gonna tell you something.
00:43:46Right here, Ricky Martin, pound for pound,
00:43:47is the toughest competitor in our sport,
00:43:49and I got a lot of time for Ricky Martin.
00:43:51This is gonna be a great battle right here.
00:43:53And ladies and gentlemen, his opponent,
00:43:57the computerized man of the 1990s, Terry Taylor!
00:44:07Terry Taylor, 238 pounder from Vero Beach, Florida,
00:44:12a man that has certainly had a lot to say in recent weeks
00:44:14to the championship committee.
00:44:16He wants respect, I guess, basically, Dust, in a nutshell.
00:44:20He can earn a lot of respect right here
00:44:21with a victory over Ricky Martin.
00:44:22He sure can, because Ricky Martin
00:44:24has had that world's tag team title,
00:44:25the Rock and Roll Express, many times,
00:44:27and I know that Terry Taylor's went out
00:44:29and told people, I want respect,
00:44:31I need somebody to notice me,
00:44:32and I know that he is looking
00:44:34for a tremendous victory tonight,
00:44:37but to get a victory over Ricky Martin,
00:44:39it's gonna take more than Terry Taylor's talk
00:44:42to get that thing done, baby.
00:44:45You know, as Dusty Rhodes said,
00:44:46Ricky Martin, pound for pound, has gotta be
00:44:47one of the toughest men ever in the sport.
00:44:49And this Saturday night on World Championship Wrestling,
00:44:52Ricky Martin, Junkyard Dog, and Tommy Wildfire Rich,
00:44:56who are an outstanding six-man tag team combination,
00:44:57by the way, will display their wares
00:45:00at 605 right here on TBS,
00:45:02because they want to be
00:45:03the world's six-man tag team champions
00:45:05right here in WCW.
00:45:07Yeah, that's a fact, and I know
00:45:08there's some tremendous athletes,
00:45:10but right now, Ricky is, once again,
00:45:11we're seeing a guy that has wrestled tag team
00:45:14for many, many years.
00:45:15His partner is injured right now.
00:45:17He's got to reach back and think about
00:45:19what it is, one-on-one, singly,
00:45:21and I know he can get it done,
00:45:22because right here, he's taking control
00:45:25of Mr. Terry Taylor, but Terry Taylor
00:45:26is a tremendous athlete, a tremendous competitor,
00:45:30a thinker, a mover.
00:45:31You see him here.
00:45:32He paces himself.
00:45:33He has the opportunity here tonight
00:45:35to take a giant step towards being
00:45:38what Terry Taylor wants to be, and that's a champion.
00:45:41Side headlock by Terry Taylor on Ricky Martin.
00:45:45Martin shoots him off.
00:45:48And Taylor takes him over a high hip lock takeover.
00:45:50We saw these men last Saturday on TBS.
00:45:53Paul E. Dangers, he tried to instigate
00:45:54an argument between the two, but these guys
00:45:57have been friends for a long, long time.
00:45:58As a matter of fact, they've been involved
00:46:01when Robert Gibson was healthy in some six-man
00:46:03matches themselves as partners.
00:46:06Oh, great move there by Ricky Martin.
00:46:08An arm drag takeover.
00:46:09That's a great move, great arm drag right there.
00:46:11That's one of his patent moves.
00:46:12One thing that you did bring up
00:46:13that is important is last week,
00:46:14they had an altercation trying to,
00:46:17Paul E. Dangers, they're trying to get him
00:46:19to go at each other live and in color on television,
00:46:21but what happened was that one man
00:46:24said, if I got a problem with you,
00:46:25and the other man said, no, I ain't got no problem with you,
00:46:26and the other man said, I ain't got no problem with you,
00:46:28and we ain't got no problem with each other,
00:46:29let's get out of here and get on with our business.
00:46:31So here they gonna see if there's
00:46:33any problem between the two.
00:46:36Side headlock by Ricky Martin, Terry Taylor
00:46:37trying to figure a way out of this one.
00:46:39Morton very, very quick.
00:46:40He'll have the advantage in that department.
00:46:42Taylor rolls him over on his shoulders,
00:46:43got two out of it.
00:46:45Again, Taylor rolling Morton over.
00:46:48Got a two count there.
00:46:50Well, I'll tell you what, Ricky Martin's
00:46:51in control right now with that headlock,
00:46:53applying a little pressure, trying to weigh him down.
00:46:56Terry Taylor needs to get off his back, Morton,
00:46:58because I can remember right here,
00:46:59this is a great move,
00:47:00patented Ricky Martin move right here.
00:47:02Terry Taylor needs to stay off his back
00:47:04because you know, in the old days,
00:47:05my old mama told me, she'd say,
00:47:06you know, you can't do anything laying on your back.
00:47:09And I used to be sleeping at 10, 11 in the morning.
00:47:11She'd come in and kick me in the booty
00:47:13and get me on off to work.
00:47:17Morton with a side headlock there.
00:47:19Still to come in the program,
00:47:20the heavyweight championship of the world.
00:47:22They're getting ready in the locker rooms.
00:47:23Nature boy, Ric Flair and Scott Steiner
00:47:25is going to be a classic fans.
00:47:27I think just for telling the people right now
00:47:30throughout the television land,
00:47:31this is probably going to be the greatest world title match
00:47:33ever in the history of television live.
00:47:35You're going to see it tonight around the world, baby.
00:47:37Side headlock by Morton, he's shot off there.
00:47:39Taylor misses the elbow.
00:47:40He misses again, the elbow high.
00:47:42Quick moment here.
00:47:43There's a high cross body.
00:47:44He may have him.
00:47:45He's got one.
00:47:46He's got two and a half.
00:47:46And Taylor backs out of the ring.
00:47:48That'll stop the momentum.
00:47:49And that's a great place for us to take this time out.
00:47:52We'll be right back on TBS.
00:47:57Welcome back everyone live to the class of champions.
00:47:59Dixie Dynamite, Jim Ross
00:48:00and the three time world's heavyweight champion,
00:48:03the American dream, Dusty Rhodes at ringside.
00:48:05It has been a very hard fought battle
00:48:07between these two individuals,
00:48:08Terry Taylor and Ricky Morton
00:48:10and basically a rugged,
00:48:12but still a clean scientific battle thus far.
00:48:16Well, what's happened when we was away
00:48:18that Terry Taylor took a little control of Ricky Morton
00:48:21using great maneuvers, great holds,
00:48:23working on his arm and right here,
00:48:25Ricky Morton finally made a move to come out of this thing.
00:48:28But I think that it's fresh right there, Terry Taylor.
00:48:31Now that's, that could be an illegal, illegal hold.
00:48:33A legal hold, what's happened is Terry Taylor
00:48:35has become a little more aggressive.
00:48:39Terry Taylor wants to impress the world,
00:48:41the championship committee at WCW.
00:48:43Ricky Morton drops behind,
00:48:45but Taylor held on to the ropes.
00:48:46Taylor missed that close on Morton.
00:48:48So quick, another arm drag takeover.
00:48:50This Sunday on the main event,
00:48:51Terry Taylor has another opportunity to move up the ladder
00:48:54because he'll take on the Z-Man
00:48:56this Sunday night on the main event exclusively
00:48:58here on TBS at 6.05 Eastern time.
00:49:01Well, Ricky Morton reverted back to what it's all about
00:49:05and that's wrestling, brother.
00:49:06Went back to an arm,
00:49:07getting his breath, working on that arm,
00:49:09taking it to Terry Taylor.
00:49:11Right here, he's got him in control.
00:49:14Ricky needs to weigh him down.
00:49:16It's going in Ricky Morton's way right now.
00:49:19Well, there you see Miss Alexandra York
00:49:22and we had heard rumors, obviously,
00:49:24that she had been talking to several wrestlers.
00:49:27Terry Taylor, one of those.
00:49:30I wonder if she's here to talk to Terry Taylor
00:49:31or to Ricky Morton.
00:49:32Well, you see right here, both men,
00:49:35both men looking at him.
00:49:37She said she had an announcement.
00:49:38I'm gonna tell you what,
00:49:39I think right here we just found out
00:49:41what the announcement is.
00:49:43Taylor with that forearm from behind, dropping down.
00:49:46Let's, if we have the comments ready for Miss York,
00:49:49let's hear her comments.
00:49:51This should reveal a lot.
00:49:56The time has come for the York Foundation
00:49:58to make that very special announcement.
00:50:00The wrestler you see in the ring this very moment,
00:50:03Terry Taylor, is our newest member.
00:50:07I've written a program especially for him.
00:50:09He will execute it flawlessly.
00:50:11And as always, the computer is infallible.
00:50:16Well, we had heard a lot of rumors
00:50:18as to whom she might be recruiting,
00:50:19but Terry Taylor now member of the,
00:50:22officially a member of the York Foundation.
00:50:25And Taylor drops a vicious knee
00:50:27right to the head of Ricky Morton.
00:50:28And if Taylor and Morton were friends at one time,
00:50:31they're certainly friends no longer.
00:50:33Well, I'm kind of wondering myself
00:50:34what that York Foundation is.
00:50:36I mean, if she's head of it,
00:50:38she must have a lot of savvy.
00:50:39I don't know much about computers.
00:50:41All I know here is Ricky Morton's going for the pin, baby.
00:50:43Inside cradle, and he got two and a half.
00:50:46Taylor right back up,
00:50:48and Taylor blatantly rakes the eyes of Ricky Morton.
00:50:51Well, he said he wanted to be noticed.
00:50:53Now he's, from what we hear,
00:50:54a member of the York Foundation,
00:50:56the main man, Terry Taylor, computerized man, 1991.
00:51:02He's out here now being more and more vicious,
00:51:05more and more taking the toll of one Ricky Morton.
00:51:09Come on, Ricky, you got to gut it up here, brother.
00:51:12Foot to the face by Terry Taylor,
00:51:13catching Ricky Morton coming in.
00:51:14There's a bulldog headlock.
00:51:16And Taylor rolls on top,
00:51:18leg grapevine as Miss York is feverishly
00:51:20putting that information into her computer.
00:51:24Well, I don't know if that computer says anything
00:51:25about a man's guts or about a man's determination.
00:51:28I know Ricky Morton's got plenty of them.
00:51:29That has not one thing to do with a computer.
00:51:33You cannot factor in the human element into a computer.
00:51:37Taylor, and Morton pulled the knees up.
00:51:40Oh, I wonder what the computer said about that.
00:51:41It must've laid something on.
00:51:42Say, do not jump from the top
00:51:44in case you're going to get your belly hit
00:51:46on two big old bony knees.
00:51:48Whoa, that's a shot.
00:51:49Big right hand by Taylor,
00:51:50and Morton fires back on him.
00:51:53Taylor, that rage look on his face,
00:51:56almost out of desperation.
00:51:58Again, he breaks the eyes.
00:52:00I'll tell you what, the exchange of good blows right there.
00:52:02Come on, Ricky.
00:52:03I might be a little biased here,
00:52:05but man, he needs to take it to him right here, brother.
00:52:09High elevation by Ricky Morton on Terry Taylor,
00:52:13the newest member of the York Foundation.
00:52:15Terry Taylor, the Irish, whips in for the ride.
00:52:18Morton walks the rope,
00:52:19and now those right hands with authority.
00:52:22Ricky's got to stay on him right here.
00:52:23Look at Terry Taylor now.
00:52:24He's got control of Ricky Morton, sets him down.
00:52:26Ricky going for a suplex.
00:52:27Take him over right there.
00:52:28Go for the pin.
00:52:29Need to hook him up, daddy.
00:52:31Didn't hook that leg, as Dusty Rhodes pointed out.
00:52:34Taylor able to kick out, consequently.
00:52:36There's a good drop kick by Ricky Morton.
00:52:39And now Ricky Morton with an offense
00:52:41and momentum squirreling in his corner.
00:52:42Morton!
00:52:44Taylor dropped out of sight.
00:52:45Morton hit the ropes,
00:52:46and Taylor's going to wrap him up.
00:52:48Ladies and gentlemen, here's your winner, Terry Taylor!
00:52:56Well, Terry Taylor showed us his true colors
00:52:58when Ricky Morton's back was turned, right here.
00:53:00Well, right here, we heard all the announcements
00:53:02going on right here.
00:53:03We found out what Terry Taylor and the York Foundation
00:53:05is all about.
00:53:06The man's back was turned.
00:53:08He took it to him right here.
00:53:09Ricky Morton goes for a high-risk maneuver, if you will.
00:53:12Even almost lands on Terry Taylor.
00:53:15He's in a bad way.
00:53:16Neck could be hurt, back could be hurt.
00:53:18Terry Taylor took advantage of the situation.
00:53:20I don't know about computers, but he won the match, baby.
00:53:23Ladies and gentlemen, one of the great features

00:54:31let's go to Bill Apter and the presentation.
00:54:35The scene, Corpus Christi, Texas, February 1990.
00:54:38The Four Horsemen attack this man to my left.
00:54:41Doctor said, you'll never wrestle again.
00:54:43Miraculously, in July, he comes back
00:54:45and wins the World Heavyweight Championship from Ric Flair.

00:54:57Man, what a mouthful. That was unreal.
00:54:58I guess that's what you call overcoming adversities.
00:55:01And 1990 was a very big year for me, definitely.
00:55:04Inspirational Wrestler of the Year, I can't believe it.
00:55:08This one here, you gotta kind of take a big, deep breath.
00:55:12Wrestler of the Year, man, that's unreal.

00:55:35Dusty, you know how it feels to be Wrestler of the Year.
00:55:36I know we both want to congratulate The Stinger.
00:55:39Well, I tell you, in the mind of Dusty Rhodes,
00:55:41the American Dream, Stinger is probably
00:55:45one of the hottest commodities in professional wrestling.
00:55:48I know what it feels like to be there, brother.
00:55:51And Stinger has got a date somewhere down the road
00:55:54with whoever wins that world's title tonight right in here.
00:55:58And Sid Vicious got to deal with The Stinger.
00:56:00But next, right now, I got a personal note
00:56:04for the people around the world
00:56:06and the people, our men and women in the Persian Gulf, baby.
00:56:12Let me say one thing live and in color on TV
00:56:18that this country, the American Dream,
00:56:21me as a kid, you as a kid, you as a parent,
00:56:24you as a mother, you as a father,
00:56:27you as people in this country
00:56:29has one thing to thank God about,
00:56:32that we got some men and women that are over there
00:56:35kicking somebody's ass in the Persian Gulf, baby.
00:56:39And the other thing is, listen to the American Dream.
00:56:47I don't want to go around this country
00:56:50and see somebody talking bad about our president,
00:56:54talking bad about we shouldn't be doing this.
00:56:57Well, baby, we doing it and we gonna do it right.
00:57:00And before it's over, I want them all back home, baby,
00:57:03because they are living the American Dream, that's it.
00:57:08Ladies and gentlemen,
00:57:09nothing more can be said about that subject.
00:57:11Let's go up to Gary Michael Cappetta.
00:57:14Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest,
00:57:16it is set for one fall.

00:57:31Ranger Ross.
00:57:39A real outstanding young man is Ranger Ross,
00:57:42former United States Army in the Rangers.
00:57:44First man off the helicopter in the Granada mission,
00:57:47received a commendation from President Ronald Reagan.
00:57:51You know, that's on his bio, it says,
00:57:52his greatest honor was leading my troops in combat.
00:57:55He's a wonderful human being.
00:57:57I'm gonna tell you, he's one of the chosen few,
00:57:59and you see it all the time.
00:58:01We're talking about a great country.
00:58:02I get really emotional when I talk about it.
00:58:04I maybe shouldn't have,
00:58:05I blurted out some of the little master words that I said,
00:58:08but that's Dusty Rhodes,
00:58:09the American Dream,
00:58:09ain't nobody can do anything about it, daddy,
00:58:11because I'm an American, true and true,
00:58:13just like this guy is.
00:58:14And we are here for one reason,
00:58:16we are free.
00:58:17And why we're free is because guys like Ranger Ross.
00:58:21And ladies and gentlemen,
00:58:22his opponent, from Havana, Cuba,
00:58:24weighing 245 pounds,
00:58:27El Cubano.
00:58:30Well, fans, before this one gets underway,
00:58:32Ranger Ross wanted to say something to all you fans.
00:58:35Let's listen now to his comments.
00:58:40I just wanna say to all the soldiers
00:58:41over in the Middle East,
00:58:43and the families,
00:58:43just want you to know that our prayers are with you,
00:58:46and that it makes me sleep good at night,
00:58:47that this is an all-volunteer military,
00:58:50and it states in the Ranger Creed
00:58:52that energetically,
00:58:53will I meet the enemies of my country,
00:58:54and I shall defeat them on the field of battle,
00:58:56for I am better trained,
00:58:57and will fight with all my might.
00:58:59Surrender is not underrated.
00:59:02Ranger Ross scooping up El Cubano.
00:59:06He's got great potential, the Ranger does.
00:59:09And he has got the motivation right now.
00:59:11He's wrestling this match for not only the men and women
00:59:13in the Persian Gulf,
00:59:14but for the families of those brave individuals
00:59:18that are watching our broadcast tonight,
00:59:20exclusively here on TBS.
00:59:21Yeah, I'll tell you what,
00:59:22you know here at WCW,
00:59:23Ranger Ross is a man that is on the move.
00:59:26He is a tremendous athlete,
00:59:27but he is patriotic,
00:59:29and right now tonight, as you said,
00:59:30he's not only in there for himself,
00:59:32he's in there for everybody throughout this country
00:59:35that's standing tall for America.
00:59:36And I'll say it again, brother,
00:59:37I'm proud, and I'm loud,
00:59:39and I'm proud to do it.
00:59:41Ranger Ross, nice reversal into the wrist lock.
00:59:47I don't know much about this El Cubano here.
00:59:50He's all in black, and his mask is black.
00:59:52I don't know what's underneath there.
00:59:53Now, in a match like this, you can't tell what's there.
00:59:55You don't know what that man's thinking.
00:59:57He seems to have a good ability
00:59:59and some good wrestling moves.
01:00:00Ranger Ross just seems to be a lot, lot better,
01:00:02but you can't tell in a match with a masked guy
01:00:05really what's going through his mind,
01:00:06because you can't see the expression that's on his face.
01:00:10More in mind, the fans of this Monday night,
01:00:11we'll have a big national television taping
01:00:13in center stage in Atlanta.
01:00:14We're full of excitement there.
01:00:15Good arm drag takeover by Ranger Ross.
01:00:17He's rangy, he's 6'2", he's 235,
01:00:21and he's got great quickness.
01:00:22This is an outstanding role model
01:00:24for any youngster of any color
01:00:26watching this broadcast here tonight.
01:00:27And I'm gonna tell you, he's in tremendous shape,
01:00:29because what he's been through in his career,
01:00:32and what he's been through serving this country,
01:00:34and what he's been through to become a professional wrestler
01:00:37makes this man a very well-conditioned athlete.
01:00:41And like I say right now, this El Cubano here,
01:00:44he's got some great moves, I'm telling you now.
01:00:46Ranger Ross, I hopefully wasn't too excited
01:00:49about the situation, because he's going up on top,
01:00:50and anything can happen in this high-risk maneuver.
01:00:54High risk up there, and the Ranger
01:00:56quickly moved out of the way.

01:03:30The Youngblood brothers comprising the Renegade Warriors.
01:03:33That's Mark Youngblood in the ring.
01:03:35His younger brother, Chris, follows him in.
01:03:38But, Dust, they better circle their wagons
01:03:41because the Horsemen are preparing to ride.
01:03:44I tell you what, Jimbo, I'm gonna like this one, baby,
01:03:46because it's got some of my old foes in it.
01:03:49We're talking about the Horsemen,
01:03:51Right here, baby, let's do it!
01:03:54And ladies and gentlemen, their opponents.
01:03:57They are the Horsemen.
01:03:59First, from Minnesota, weighing 260 pounds,
01:04:04The Enforcer, Arn Anderson!
01:04:11And from Sweetwater, Texas, 278 pounds,
01:04:16Barry Windham!
01:04:19And we're rocking now in Gainesville, Georgia,
01:04:21the Georgia Mountain Center.
01:04:24A lot of bad blood has developed right here on TBS
01:04:27between these two teams and the Renegade Warriors
01:04:31attacking the Horsemen, surprising the Horsemen,
01:04:34showing that big offense right off the bat here.
01:04:37And Windham and Anderson have left the ring.
01:04:40One thing we've got to understand here, Jimbo,
01:04:42we're talking about the greatest...
01:04:44Right here, they go in with offense right off the bat,
01:04:46it's true, but in this case here,
01:04:48they're gonna have to do just a little bit more
01:04:49because they've got a whole lot of it coming at them, baby.
01:04:52Double team moves by the Renegade Warriors
01:04:55and Arn Anderson and Barry Windham,
01:04:57who this Saturday at 6.05 will be taking on
01:05:00Tim Horner and Brad Armstrong right here on TBS
01:05:03in World Championship Wrestling.
01:05:04Fans, I've got to tell you, we've got two of the biggest
01:05:07hours ever this Saturday night at 6.05
01:05:10right here on TBS, and the Horsemen,
01:05:12they're gonna step inside two rings,
01:05:14enclosed by steel, exclusively on pay-per-view
01:05:17at the third annual WrestleWar pay-per-view
01:05:20spectacular in Phoenix.
01:05:22Well, I'll tell you what, Jimbo,
01:05:23WrestleWar's been going on for three years.
01:05:24It's the third annual.
01:05:25It's one of the toughest events in the world.
01:05:27And right here, we see, and I'm ready for this one,
01:05:29and they're firing on him right here.
01:05:30Did you see them big old pretty pitchers
01:05:32when they come out?
01:05:33A bear, Windham, and that old ball-headed Arn Anderson.
01:05:37Well, I'm not gonna add anything to that.
01:05:40I may have to do an interview with him sometime.
01:05:41I want him to come back on me.
01:05:42Well, take me with you when you do, baby,
01:05:44but I'll stand there with you.
01:05:46I like these renegade lawyers.
01:05:47They dress nice, and they got some fire in their soul,
01:05:51brother.
01:05:52We're gonna see something here.
01:05:53Dollar and Elbow tie up.
01:05:54Mark Youngblood, Arn Anderson puts him to the ropes.
01:05:56Misses with that big supine left hand
01:05:58and right hands by Youngblood, firing up on Double A.
01:06:02And the man who wants to be
01:06:03the television champion of the world
01:06:05backs into the corner of the Horsemen
01:06:07with a very bewildered look,
01:06:08almost a startled look on his face.
01:06:10Well, Arn Anderson, when he gets that stunned look
01:06:12on his face, that's when he gets the meanest.
01:06:15That's when he gets the baddest.
01:06:16That's when he starts thinking about business at hand.
01:06:19And business at hand is two young guys right here
01:06:21that got fire in their eyes,
01:06:23and they want a victory tonight
01:06:24live across the world in color on television.
01:06:28Renegade Warriors want to make a name for themselves
01:06:30right here on the most watched wrestling broadcast
01:06:34I'm sure in the country.
01:06:39Youngblood, Chris Youngblood, I should say.
01:06:426'2", 235.
01:06:44They were raised on the Mescalero Indian Reservation
01:06:46in New Mexico, and the Horsemen know
01:06:49that they cannot intimidate the team.
01:06:51They found that out right here on TBS last Saturday,
01:06:54as a matter of fact.
01:06:55But the Renegade Warriors are showing
01:06:56a lot of offense dream,
01:06:57and I think that's what they've got to do.
01:06:59They've got to take the fight to the Horsemen.
01:07:01Well, I said on the onslaught
01:07:02of this great program tonight,
01:07:03I said offense is the name of the game.
01:07:05And when you own the offense
01:07:06and you can make it work for you,
01:07:07you're going to score touchdowns.
01:07:08You're going to get victories,
01:07:09and victory is the name of the game.
01:07:111, 2, 3, right here.
01:07:12Ian Anderson again pushed off right here.
01:07:14Might be it.
01:07:15Get down there, referee.
01:07:16He's going to roll him up.
01:07:171, 2.
01:07:18Referee Randy Anderson got 2 1⁄2 out of that one.
01:07:21Arn Anderson getting very frustrated
01:07:23right here at this point,
01:07:24and no timeout will be granted.
01:07:26Yeah, Ian Anderson sticking up his hand,
01:07:28wanting to timeout,
01:07:29and wanting to talk to Barry,
01:07:31wanting to regroup.
01:07:32But in behind that move he made
01:07:34of them evil eyes of him,
01:07:35you see Mr. Barry Winderman here,
01:07:37and as a professional wrestler goes,
01:07:39this man has all the tools, brother.
01:07:416'6", 278, from Sweetwater, Texas.
01:07:45Another second-generation wrestler.
01:07:47He's been a U.S. champion,
01:07:48and he's been one half of the world champion,
01:07:50tag champion.
01:07:51Chris Youngblood with a tremendous dropkick.
01:07:54I'm not so sure if Arn Anderson was calling timeout
01:07:56or calling a technical foul on the Renegade Warriors.
01:07:59I'll tell you, he's talking.
01:08:01I like that.
01:08:02I like that, Jimbo, a technical foul.
01:08:04He could call a technical foul
01:08:05because from the get-go of this match,
01:08:08they've been looking a little bit ragged
01:08:10because these two men are tearing them up.
01:08:12They're getting after it.
01:08:13They know how important this night is.
01:08:15We're building for the flair,
01:08:16starting a match,
01:08:17the biggest match ever seen on television,
01:08:19coming up later on this program.
01:08:20Right now, we're setting the pace for it, daddy.
01:08:24Barry Winderman using those big boots
01:08:26as a weapon there,
01:08:27the straight right hand on Mark Youngblood.
01:08:30Tag made.
01:08:31Here comes the enforcer of the Horsemen,
01:08:33Arn Anderson,
01:08:34a man that knows what it's like
01:08:35to step inside the double steel cage at war games.
01:08:38But look at Youngblood fire up.
01:08:40Takes Anderson all the way back
01:08:41to the Renegade Warrior corner.
01:08:43I'll tell you what, right here,
01:08:44they're doing the right thing.
01:08:45They're getting a fresh man in there.
01:08:46As long as you stay fresh with these guys,
01:08:48you can stay on top.
01:08:49Right here, double chop,
01:08:50kicking down into the ground.
01:08:51They're on fire right here.
01:08:52They're looking for an upset.
01:08:53They're looking for a victory.
01:08:55Right here on TBS tonight,
01:08:56WCW, live and in color.
01:08:58They're going for it.
01:09:00Anderson sending Chris Youngblood for the ride there.
01:09:02And he caught him off.
01:09:03And there's that spine buster.
01:09:04What a sit-landing move by Double A Arn Anderson.
01:09:07And what a smart tag.
01:09:08He got Windham in very quickly.
01:09:10Oh, that, I'm telling you,
01:09:11that's the smartness of the Horsemen.
01:09:13We're talking about two of the greatest right here.
01:09:15Barry Windham now going to take over the situation at hand.
01:09:19On top of the lateral press.
01:09:20He may have him here,
01:09:21but Youngblood showing a lot of guts,
01:09:23a lot of determination.
01:09:24He kicked out at two with a front face lock
01:09:26into the DDT.
01:09:28We've seen that DDT work a little bit earlier tonight.
01:09:30He's in the rope.
01:09:31A little bit earlier tonight.
01:09:32He got the end ropes.
01:09:33Luckily, that DDT gets his power,
01:09:34but one guy doing it is two.
01:09:36Tag made.
01:09:37Now Windham and Anderson have hit that rhythm.
01:09:40They've got those tags.
01:09:41They're coming in and out,
01:09:42keeping that fresh man in the ring.
01:09:44Like a well-oiled machine ring.
01:09:45Once they get that rhythm,
01:09:46like we know both of them can,
01:09:48they are hard to beat.
01:09:49And they can punish a man.
01:09:50They can take a man to the limit.
01:09:52They can take a man down as quick as anything.
01:09:55Right here, Arn Anderson,
01:09:56the smart of the years.
01:09:57Now, you watch this move right here.
01:09:59He's got a hold of this guy.
01:10:00He's leaning on him.
01:10:01Now, you see right here,
01:10:02if you're at home, take your wife,
01:10:03get up in the living room,
01:10:04put her in this hold and lean on her
01:10:06and see how quick she'll break down like a shotgun.
01:10:11Yeah.
01:10:14Front face lock.
01:10:15Oh, when their heads crack together,
01:10:17the back of Anderson's head,
01:10:19right in the face of young Chris Youngblood.
01:10:22I'm telling you.
01:10:23I can see a lot.
01:10:24There's a lot of men getting in trouble right now.
01:10:26Tony, stand up.
01:10:27I want a front face lock.
01:10:28Yeah, there you go.
01:10:29I mean, don't hurt him,
01:10:30because we love him.
01:10:31We can't do without him.
01:10:32Oh, man.
01:10:34That is a big-time offensive move there.
01:10:37Inverted atomic drop by AA.
01:10:39He's going for the rope for a high-risk move,
01:10:41and he caught it.
01:10:42He got a knee.
01:10:43Youngblood got the knee
01:10:44right up into the lower abdomen.
01:10:45I'll tell you what, Jimbo,
01:10:46right there is a very unusual move for Arn Anderson.
01:10:48That's a high-risk maneuver off the top.
01:10:50You never see him do that type of move,
01:10:52and it backfired on him right there.
01:10:54He did get his knees up just in time,
01:10:56and that will take that midsection
01:10:57and put it back behind your belly button.
01:11:00Tag was made.
01:11:02Here comes Mark Youngblood,
01:11:03knocking Anderson down.
01:11:05He knocks McBarry Windham down.
01:11:08The Indian's on the warpath here
01:11:10with that tomahawk chop,
01:11:11and now all four men are in the ring.
01:11:14I'll tell you, they couldn't have jacked now.
01:11:16I know they're going for it.
01:11:17They got to keep moving here.
01:11:19They got to stay on top.
01:11:20They need a legal man.
01:11:21There needs to be somebody in here
01:11:23in case we go for a fall.
01:11:24Great move right here
01:11:25by Barry Windham.
01:11:26Windham got rid of one of the Youngbloods.
01:11:28He got rid of Mark Youngblood.
01:11:29The horse must know how Custer feels,
01:11:31or felt.
01:11:33Youngblood's in for the ride there.
01:11:35Windham!
01:11:37Got him with a lariat.
01:11:38Adam, he got him all.
01:11:40We're getting ready to see right here
01:11:42the horseman at their best,
01:11:44the horseman at work right here.
01:11:45They're setting him up right here.
01:11:47I'm talking about, we're talking 10, 12 feet off the ax.
01:11:50Superplex.
01:11:51Superplex time.
01:11:52Windham with a superplex,
01:11:54but Anderson's the legal man in the ring.
01:11:56Anderson detained the referee,

01:12:21the spinebuster early in the match,
01:12:23starting to take its toll on the Warriors right here.
01:12:26Iron Anderson and Barry Windham
01:12:27have started to take control of the match
01:12:29and puts him down right there.

01:17:14As we said, Coach Kim Wood, the strength coach at Bengal said he's the toughest player he
01:17:18ever saw in the NFL.
01:17:20That's a great move.
01:17:21Whoa.
01:17:22That's a great move right there and he went for the pin right away.
01:17:23I'm gonna tell you something about that, what's this guy's name again?
01:17:26It's not Barney Five.
01:17:27It's not Barney Five.
01:17:28It's Sergeant Buddy Lee Parker.
01:17:29Well, I'm gonna tell you, if Buddy Lee Parker stopped me on the highway and went to get
01:17:32me a ticket, me and him may have to have talk.
01:17:35Runs that shoulder up to the mid-section of Flyand Bryan.
01:17:39as we pointed out earlier in the broadcast,
01:17:40Lion Bryan and the Z-Men were once the US Tag Champions.
01:17:43This kid has got championship material written all over it.
01:17:47Yeah, and I'm telling you, he is,
01:17:49he's alive tonight, and he's gotta be.
01:17:51We all are, because we're right here.
01:17:53We coming to you in your living room,
01:17:55and this is an exciting night.
01:17:56We know that Ric Flair back there right now,
01:17:58what's he thinking tonight?
01:17:59What's he thinking about Scott Steiner?
01:18:01What is going through his mind?
01:18:03Seven times World Heavyweight Champion.
01:18:05I tell you, everybody that's been out here tonight,
01:18:07one thing is on their mind.
01:18:09They're gunning for the gold.
01:18:10Ric Flair, World's Heavyweight Champion.
01:18:12Sergeant Buddy Lee Parker kicking
01:18:13Lion Bryan out to the apron.
01:18:15Lion Bryan is preparing so intently.
01:18:19Oh, landed right on his feet for the war games.
01:18:21As you said, he's gonna be the smallest man
01:18:23in the war games, but his courage
01:18:26may surpass any of the other seven in there.
01:18:29Well, that's what I said a while ago.
01:18:31Maybe I made a mistake when I said maybe he was tiny.
01:18:33That's the way we talk in Texas, tiny and everything.
01:18:35My daughter Cody and Teal taught me how to say tiny,
01:18:39but tiny and courage, he is not.
01:18:40He is a giant among men in the courage department.
01:18:44You know, in a normal circumstance,
01:18:45you'd think a 226-pounder's a pretty good-sized guy.
01:18:49Sergeant Buddy Lee Parker on the railway.
01:18:51Pillman up on the top rope.
01:18:53Keep your eye on Bryan.
01:18:54Bryan, cross-body, right out on the runway.
01:18:58Ooh, I ain't never, I ain't never, I ain't never.
01:19:00That's all I gotta say about that.
01:19:02I mean, I ain't never seen nothing like that.
01:19:06Nashville, Georgia's not known for its airport.
01:19:08Atlanta is, but Flying Bryan just took off.
01:19:11He created his own landing.
01:19:13Big chop there, you know, he at one time
01:19:15was a protege of Nature Boy Ric Flair.
01:19:17He learned a lot from the champion.
01:19:19Those chops are one indication of that.
01:19:22I'll tell you what, he is taking control right here.
01:19:24He's got, he's got, he's had this whole match.
01:19:27He needs to try to go for a pin right here,
01:19:29and this might be it.
01:19:30High cross-body, he got it, right on the rope.
01:19:32He did great by the leg, and Flying Bryan has won it.

01:19:51onto the ramp.
01:19:52He's got to be so high in the air.

01:19:58and right here off the top, once again,
01:20:00that's why he's the Flying Man, Bryan Puma.
01:20:04Flying Bryan will be in war games with Sting

01:28:58in March in the Egg Dome in Tokyo.
01:29:00Mr. Matsuda obviously very interested
01:29:02in the outcome of this mastering.
01:29:04Well, Jimbo, any time you have a match of this magnitude,
01:29:06it takes on an international flavor.
01:29:08Japan has some great wrestlers, some great athletes,
01:29:11and I know for a fact that Mr. Matsuda
01:29:13representing his company is here tonight
01:29:15to see this tremendous event,
01:29:17because one of these men will go there.
01:29:18And, ladies and gentlemen, also in attendance,
01:29:21he is the largest athlete in the world,
01:29:257 feet, 7 inches, 450 pounds of El Gigante.
01:29:357 feet, 7, 450 pounds, size 22 shoe.
01:29:40Get a pair of Tony Lamas on that man,
01:29:42you have to kill a whole herd.
01:29:43I'll tell you what, I know one thing about Ric Flair
01:29:46or Scott Steiner, the size-wise,
01:29:48I know, I don't know how they're gonna match up
01:29:51if they ever meet this man.
01:29:55High five, have him come down to, he's a good guy.
01:29:59What a, really a nice person.
01:30:02Oh, look at the size of this guy.
01:30:05Awesome, awesome.
01:30:06Extending his hand and good sportsmanship
01:30:08from Nature Boy Ric Flair.
01:30:13Oh, be careful, Nates, don't let this
01:30:15come back to haunt you, baby.
01:30:18There it is, turning rudely and walking away.
01:30:21El Gigante.
01:30:23How many signed 1,000 autographs tonight?
01:30:25The kids love this big guy.
01:30:277'7", 450 pounds.
01:30:33And there's what they will be fighting for,
01:30:35the WCW Heavyweight Championship of the World.
01:30:39On January the 11th, in the Meadowlands,
01:30:42Nature Boy Ric Flair won the title for the seventh time
01:30:46in controversial fashion.
01:30:47We should have seen that.
01:30:49In controversial fashion, we should add,
01:30:52against the Stinger.
01:30:54This one, one fall, our TV time remaining.
01:30:59One thing that Scott Steiner has to realize tonight,
01:31:01that he is in there with probably the greatest
01:31:04World Champion of all time.
01:31:05I've been in there with him.
01:31:06I know what it feels like to let it go.
01:31:08I know what it feels like to go for it.
01:31:10Scott Steiner tonight has a great chance
01:31:13to take a great step.
01:31:15And Scott Steiner is gonna, I know,
01:31:17I will give him all he is, because right here,
01:31:19he will not be intimidated, baby.
01:31:24My broadcast partner, the American Dream, Dusty Rose,
01:31:27has carried that gold on three different occasions.
01:31:31So he knows what it's like to defend,
01:31:34and also obviously to chase the World's Champion.
01:31:36Good football talk there by Scott Steiner.
01:31:38He is powerful, he is quick.
01:31:40It's gonna take all of Flair's resourcefulness,
01:31:43all of the tricks, all of his technique,
01:31:45to fend off this challenge of this awesome youngster.
01:31:48Rick Flair knows all the tricks, knows all the technique.
01:31:51He can either teach this guy a lesson tonight,
01:31:53or this man right here can become
01:31:55World's Heavyweight Champion right on this program.
01:31:57Going throughout the world,
01:31:59this thing is on Father Nature boy, Rick Flair.
01:32:01Scott Steiner right now, feeling each other out.
01:32:04Steiner with the advantage.
01:32:07The former Big Ten Wrestling Champion
01:32:09at two different weights.
01:32:10There you saw a great amateur move,
01:32:12the Fireman Carry.
01:32:14You know one thing about the great athletes
01:32:16is that the way Scott Steiner truly is remarkable
01:32:18because the kids have to understand out there,
01:32:21Scott Steiner got his degree.
01:32:22Scott Steiner went to college.
01:32:24Scott Steiner graduated, and that's so important today
01:32:27because look at him now.
01:32:28He's going for the most prestigious title in the world.
01:32:31He's wrestling for the World's Heavyweight Title
01:32:33right here on TBS tonight.
01:32:34Clash of the Champions.
01:32:36Steiner going for a single leg pick up at Flair.
01:32:39Staying very close to the ropes.
01:32:41He knows that Senior Referee Nick Patrick
01:32:43will step in there.
01:32:44When they go to the ropes and break the maneuver.
01:32:47I think it's really important in a match like this
01:32:49that you have the best referee,
01:32:50and Nick Patrick is the best referee.
01:32:53He is a Senior Referee.
01:32:54He's been in many title matches,
01:32:56and this thing is gonna get hot and heavy for us over here.
01:32:59We're gonna need Nick Patrick for the right decision.
01:33:03Flair, overhand wrist lock, trying to take Steiner down.
01:33:07There's that great leverage that Flair possesses.
01:33:08But look at this kid, tremendous strength.
01:33:12Flair will not be able to hold him in this position.
01:33:15Powerful Scott Steiner's got him up and takes him down.
01:33:17I'll tell you what, Scott Steiner's got tremendous strength.
01:33:20His brother, they've worked out, they've trained,
01:33:23they're ready for this.
01:33:23This is the night of his life.
01:33:26Right here you see, oh yeah, there's O'Rick right there.
01:33:29And Mr. Flair don't want to get into a jawing conversation
01:33:32with him when he's got this kid in there
01:33:34ready to take the gold at any second.
01:33:37Of course, no matter the outcome of this match here tonight
01:33:40on TBS, these men will meet again,
01:33:44exclusively on pay-per-view in the giant steel cage
01:33:48surrounding two rings at the third annual
01:33:50WrestleWar pay-per-view spectacular.
01:33:53We certainly encourage you fans
01:33:54to call your local cable company
01:33:56and order that event early.
01:33:57It comes your way on Sunday, February 24th.
01:34:01I know, and speaking in that respect about the situation,
01:34:04Scott Steiner would feel a lot better walking in
01:34:06as World's Heavyweight Champion
01:34:07in the Phoenix on the 24th of February.
01:34:10Flair with the Irish whip,
01:34:11no, it's reversed by Scott Steiner.
01:34:13And Steiner elevates the champion.
01:34:15First big impact move by Scott Steiner tonight.
01:34:19Catching Flair, sends him for the ride.
01:34:22Catches him up, side slam.
01:34:25He's got the leg right by him.
01:34:27And Flair able to kick out.
01:34:28But Scott Steiner got the first two count of the match.
01:34:31The first near fall for the challenger.
01:34:34And that's so important, that will only build his,
01:34:36it's like a great ball game.
01:34:37It's a great event, a great boxing match.
01:34:40When you get the first blows in,
01:34:41when you complete the first pass,
01:34:43when you make the first move,
01:34:45when you get a two count on seven times
01:34:47World's Heavyweight Wrestling Champion,
01:34:49it only bolsters that energy inside of you.
01:34:52Brings that stuff to the top, drive that emotion.
01:34:55And sometime a man can win on emotion alone, baby.
01:35:00You think that Flair's gonna use the ropes
01:35:02and use everything he can as far as getting out of the ring,
01:35:05breaking the momentum to keep this kid
01:35:06a little off balance, Dream?
01:35:08I know that Ric Flair will use anything to get away.
01:35:11And he knows he's a cagey champion.
01:35:13He knows when to rest.
01:35:14You know what I mean, Jimbo?
01:35:14He knows when to back out.
01:35:16He knows when to get his thoughts together.
01:35:18Most of all, he plays mind games.
01:35:20And psychologically, he can take it to him.
01:35:23Flair downstairs with that forearm down to the ribs.
01:35:26Got Steiner in the corner.
01:35:28Big chop there.
01:35:31Wow!
01:35:31Man, that one echoed throughout
01:35:33the Georgia Mountain Center.
01:35:34Tremendous chop by Flair on Scott Steiner.
01:35:38There's a side headlock now by Flair.
01:35:39Steiner sends him across.
01:35:40And Flair puts Steiner down with a football block.
01:35:42Flair now to the other side.
01:35:43It's Scott Steiner caught and coming off
01:35:45with a hip lock.
01:35:46Arm drag takeover.
01:35:48Steiner grabbing that arm.
01:35:51And you see right there,
01:35:51that's not that conventional arm drag.
01:35:54Scott Steiner relating back just a little bit
01:35:56in an amateur background.
01:35:57He needs to wear Ric Flair down.
01:35:59It's very, very simple.
01:36:00To be world's heavyweight champion,
01:36:02to be the man, you gotta beat the man.
01:36:04I will have an exclusive interview
01:36:05with the winner of this match this Saturday night
01:36:08on World Championship Wrestling at 6.05 Eastern Time,
01:36:12right here on TBS.
01:36:15Scott Steiner, great sportsman.
01:36:17Good clean break for seeing his brother
01:36:19one half of the United States Tag Team Champions.
01:36:23Well, being a great sportsman is one thing,
01:36:24but winning the world's heavyweight title is another.
01:36:27And he definitely has to be thinking
01:36:28about what his next move is.
01:36:30He's gotta be ready because I guarantee you one thing,
01:36:32the Nature Boy Ric Flair is thinking about
01:36:34what's going on in this ring right here tonight.
01:36:36You know, we saw Bill after earlier
01:36:37where the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Award
01:36:39for the wrestler of the year is staying.
01:36:40The Steiners also won that award in the Tag Team category.
01:36:45Yeah, they're without a doubt
01:36:46some of the tag team champions.
01:36:48And I know they're looking at a shot
01:36:49at that world's tag team title too.
01:36:51And right now, the main thing on Scott Steiner's mind
01:36:54is not the tag team championships of the world.
01:36:56It is being world's heavyweight champion.
01:36:59It's almost as if Flair was playing a game
01:37:01of mental chess with Scott Steiner
01:37:03because Steiner, very aggressive.
01:37:05He's very anxious to get this match going
01:37:07and to get a rhythm, to get a flow.
01:37:08But every time he starts dreaming,
01:37:10it seems like that Flair, you know,
01:37:12hits out of bounds.
01:37:13Well, the thing about Scott Steiner
01:37:15doesn't need to get too down about what Ric Flair's doing.
01:37:18He needs to stay to his game plan.
01:37:20He needs to do what brought him to the dance.
01:37:21And what brought him to the dance
01:37:22is training, being ready for this.
01:37:24He wouldn't be in there tonight
01:37:25if he wasn't ready to be world's heavyweight champion.
01:37:28Tremendous strength exhibited by Scott Steiner
01:37:30and Ric Flair starts away at the knee of Scott Steiner.
01:37:33We may see the early strategy early unfolding here
01:37:37as we know Flair is a master of the figure.
01:37:39Irish whip over the Steiner line.
01:37:42Caught the champion.
01:37:43He caught him flush right in the throat area
01:37:46and Flair in a lot of trouble again,
01:37:48near the ropes and again, crawling outside.
01:37:52Right here, Ric Flair was definitely hurt by that blow.
01:37:55And it was a tremendous blow.
01:37:56Scott Steiner now right here.
01:37:58See, one thing about Scott Steiner here,
01:38:00this is only being just a little bit younger in the business
01:38:03and not having the knowledge that Ric Flair does.
01:38:05Ric Flair's over there trying to get control of itself.
01:38:08Scott Steiner needs to be a little more offensively.
01:38:11Go out there, I would go out and get him, bring him in.
01:38:16Of course, that comes with experience.
01:38:17And Steiner now got him up,
01:38:20vertical suplex brings Flair back in.
01:38:23Steiner on top, he's going for the pin.
01:38:25That's an amateur instinct.
01:38:27Go for the pin when the man's on his back.
01:38:29One thing about his amateur instinct right there
01:38:30that he forgot is he did not hit that leg.
01:38:32And we're going to say that many, many times
01:38:34on programs throughout this great wrestling world.
01:38:37If you have to hook that leg, hook that man,
01:38:39sit you up on him and take him home.
01:38:42Scott Steiner, that superior strength
01:38:45on Nature Boy Ric Flair.
01:38:47Steiner only in the sport about three years.
01:38:49Flair, on the other hand, was Rookie of the Year in 75.
01:38:52And Steiner, disregarding the vaunted reputation of Flair.
01:38:56There's the right hands, inverted atomic drop.
01:38:59A momentum breaker.
01:39:02Yeah, momentum is the name of the game.
01:39:03Scott Steiner had some momentum going into this thing.
01:39:06Ric Flair slowly and methodically,
01:39:09I believe that's the word is methodically,
01:39:11starting to now to make his move at Scott Steiner.
01:39:15Scott Steiner has got to be Ric Flair.
01:39:17Ric Flair don't have to be Scott Steiner.
01:39:19Another inverted atomic drop by Nature Boy Ric Flair.
01:39:23And now Flair, who has played a,
01:39:25basically a cat and mouse game,
01:39:27thus far with Scott Steiner.
01:39:28But he is a consummate tactician.
01:39:30And now, as he says, you know,
01:39:32maybe time to go to school.
01:39:34As he tosses Scott Steiner out,
01:39:35he landed right on his feet.
01:39:37His brother Ric says, get back in the ring.
01:39:39Sunset Flip.
01:39:40Flair trying to grab for the ropes.
01:39:42Instead he grabbed a handful of hair
01:39:44and nailed Steiner with the right hand.
01:39:46Ric Flair's been in that position many times.
01:39:48And he knows, right now he's intimidating Steiner.
01:39:52He's intimidating Ric Steiner.
01:39:53He's intimidating Scott Steiner.
01:39:55He feels good about himself right time.
01:39:57Anytime Ric Flair gets in a position like he's in right now
01:39:59to feel good about himself, he's hard to beat Jimbo Ross.
01:40:03Flair, it's reversed.
01:40:04The Irish whip, he's in.
01:40:06But he caught Steiner coming in on the foot,
01:40:07right to the face.
01:40:09And now Flair, his feet are in the ropes.
01:40:11We've seen him do this before.
01:40:14And Ric Steiner bringing to the referee's attention
01:40:17that Flair's feet were in the ropes.
01:40:19Well, right here too, though,
01:40:20I know that Nick Patrick,
01:40:23the referee that he is, was ready.
01:40:25And he had them eyes on that rope, baby.
01:40:27Ladies and gentlemen, we'll take a commercial break.
01:40:29We'll come back.
01:40:30The World's Heavyweight Championship
01:40:31will continue right after this.
01:40:38Scott Steiner finally back up,
01:40:39fighting with the Nature Boy.
01:40:42Flair sent for the ride.
01:40:43Big football block by the heavyweight champion.
01:40:46Again, Flair for the ride, good drop toehold.
01:40:48Flair goes down.
01:40:50Welcome back, fans, to this live broadcast.
01:40:52It's one fall of television time remaining
01:40:55for the world title.
01:40:56And Scott Steiner has turned the table on Flair.
01:40:58He's got the figure four, Dusty Rhodes,
01:41:01on the World's Heavyweight Champion.
01:41:02I'll tell you right here,
01:41:04Ric Flair's in a lot of trouble.
01:41:05Scott Steiner has learned his lessons well.
01:41:07He's went to school.
01:41:08He knows what it's all about.
01:41:09He knows what his take.
01:41:11He has turned the tables on the Nature Boy, Ric Flair,
01:41:14applying pressure to Ric Flair with the figure four.
01:41:16And brother, the Nature Boy, at this point in time,
01:41:19is in trouble, but during the break,
01:41:21Scott Steiner has started to regroup himself
01:41:23and shift a little bit and started to make
01:41:25a little more moves and bring Flair back in.
01:41:28The perspective is that Scott Steiner
01:41:30is quicker, faster, stronger,
01:41:32and can beat Ric Flair tonight right here.
01:41:35Flair now pushing Steiner back into the ropes
01:41:38and sends him for the ride, but he missed the elbow.
01:41:40Steiner missed the Steiner line.
01:41:42And Flair got him.
01:41:43Oh, they go home.
01:41:44Flair all the way over.
01:41:46The momentum has taken both men over the top rope.
01:41:50Remember, this match is one fall
01:41:52or television time remaining
01:41:54for the heavyweight championship of the world.
01:41:56I'll tell you right there,
01:41:57that was an unbelievable thing that just happened.
01:42:00Ric Flair, Scott Steiner, both going out to the floor.
01:42:03The thing here is both men could be hurt.
01:42:05Not one here has the upper hand.
01:42:06Ric Flair seems to be there,
01:42:08seems to be now ready to fire back at Scott Steiner.
01:42:10We're gonna see something right out here now.
01:42:12Flair now going to work on that leg.
01:42:14He's got it up.
01:42:15Ric Flair dropping Steiner's leg right across his arm
01:42:20as Flair would seemingly be trying to prepare Steiner
01:42:23for the figure four.
01:42:25Yeah, I've seen that move.
01:42:26I've had that move put on me many times.
01:42:28That is exactly what Ric Flair is doing.
01:42:30For you people at home,
01:42:31he is starting now to work on that leg,
01:42:34starting to get it ready,
01:42:35starting to get Scott Steiner in a position
01:42:38so he can hook the patented figure four
01:42:41and take this thing home.
01:42:42Ric Steiner there to encourage his brother
01:42:44to tell him that there's 10 minutes
01:42:46of television time remaining.
01:42:48You've got to suck it up, Scotty.
01:42:49Get back in the ring.
01:42:50Scott Steiner, you know he's full of fight,
01:42:52but he's in there with a man
01:42:54that is considered the greatest champion of all time.
01:42:56And right there, Flair trying to work on that leg.
01:42:59It's obvious now, the game plan of Nature Boy Ric Flair.
01:43:03Restrict the mobility of Scott Steiner.
01:43:05Don't allow him to use his power moves.
01:43:07Keep him off his feet.
01:43:08And that's what Flair's doing right here.
01:43:10Well, you know yourself,
01:43:11a man that can't stand up,
01:43:13I mean, he can't do a lot.
01:43:14And Scott Steiner now is in a lot of pain
01:43:18because Ric Flair took his time.
01:43:20He dealt a blow that started the situation
01:43:23that we see right now.
01:43:23And that situation is a young kid
01:43:26with a hurt leg fighting for his life
01:43:28to be world's heavyweight champion
01:43:29against probably the greatest champion of all time.
01:43:34Again, Flair with a vicious kick to the knee.
01:43:37Scott Steiner holding his knee,
01:43:39driving in pain there on the canvas.
01:43:44Flair again.
01:43:45Boy, this is vintage Nature Boy Ric Flair right here.
01:43:48Got him up on his shoulders.
01:43:51Again, jamming Steiner's leg right across Flair's arm.
01:43:56It's very simple.
01:43:58You know, I mean, as simple as it can be here.
01:44:00Here he goes, stepping in,
01:44:01trying for the figure four on Scott Steiner.
01:44:03There he is.
01:44:04Jimbo, he's got it hooked on him right here.
01:44:06Flair with a figure four on Scott Steiner.
01:44:08He's also got the ropes.
01:44:09Rick Steiner.
01:44:11Rick Steiner doesn't want to get his emotions
01:44:13to get carried away.
01:44:14He can get his brother disqualified here.
01:44:15Right here, now Rick needs to keep his head
01:44:18about him just a little bit.
01:44:19And Nick Patrick will take care of business here.
01:44:21Now, he's been in this situation before.
01:44:24Nature Boy, look at Nature Boy,
01:44:25saying he didn't pull the rope.
01:44:26I've had the pressure put on me.
01:44:28Scott Steiner's in a lot of pain.
01:44:30Right here, the Nature Boy.
01:44:31Look at Rick, don't get him disqualified here, Rick.
01:44:34I mean, he's gotta, like you say,
01:44:36use his head about the situation.
01:44:38He cannot lose his composure.
01:44:39Obviously, he wants his little brother
01:44:41to win the heavyweight championship of the world,
01:44:43but he certainly doesn't want to get his little brother
01:44:45disqualified due to outside interference.
01:44:48And that's what could happen.
01:44:50The referee, beneficial, he made him break the hold.
01:44:52But how much damage does could be done
01:44:54in that length of time?
01:44:56You've had the hold applied to you.
01:44:57How much hurt could Scott Steiner be sustaining right now?
01:45:00Well, I tell you, I had my leg broke with that hold.
01:45:02And I know for a fact that it goes numb first.
01:45:04And he had it on long enough.
01:45:06And he had it on long enough
01:45:07that there's a certain amount of damage
01:45:09that is happening to Scott Steiner.
01:45:10And he's not through with it, but I know Rick Flair.
01:45:13I know the game plan,
01:45:14and he is not through with this thing right here.
01:45:17He hooks it on him again.
01:45:18He's got it on him again,
01:45:19in the middle of the ring this time.
01:45:23He's got it in the middle of the ring,
01:45:25away from the ropes.
01:45:27And that's, Flair can't use the ropes,
01:45:29but neither can Scott Steiner.
01:45:31He's gotta gut it out.
01:45:33You know there is one reversal, Dusty.
01:45:35You've mastered that.
01:45:37Right here, he needs to roll this thing over right here.
01:45:39Scott Steiner's gotta really reach back,
01:45:41take him all the way over Scott Steiner,
01:45:42and apply the pressure down the other side.
01:45:44Rick Flair, he's gonna get out of this thing.
01:45:46I'm telling you, he's gonna get out of this thing.
01:45:49Flair is not gonna submit.
01:45:51It's almost like an Indian Death Lock position
01:45:53when it's reversed.
01:45:54And finally, Flair got into the ropes,
01:45:55and now Scott Steiner is up.
01:45:58His leg's gotta be numb.
01:45:59That's the bottom line.
01:46:00His leg is numb.
01:46:01I mean, as numb as it is.
01:46:03But one thing, as he got to his feet right there
01:46:05on Guts Alone, Rick Flair, the champion that he is,
01:46:08drilled right back in on that part of the body
01:46:11that is injured, breaking a man down.
01:46:13And we're talking about his leg.
01:46:19Steiner fighting back,
01:46:21trying to go with that front face lock.
01:46:23Now he's got him in a neck breaker position.
01:46:27And he snaps it off on the Nature Boy.
01:46:29Now we know Scott Steiner uses a Frankensteiner.
01:46:33He's gotta work on his neck right there.
01:46:35Yeah, what he needs to do right here
01:46:37is kinda regroup himself a little bit.
01:46:38He might wanna grab a hold
01:46:40and try to wear this thing down.
01:46:41He don't wanna involve himself in a situation
01:46:43where he hurts that knee again.
01:46:45But Rick Flair will take it to him right here.
01:46:47Rick Flair upside down, out on the floor,
01:46:49right here beside us.
01:46:50Flair right out here beside us.
01:46:52The clock is the enemy of Scott Steiner.
01:46:55We're under six minutes of television time remaining.
01:46:58As Nature Boy Rick Flair, right out here beside us,
01:47:01is in a lot of trouble.
01:47:03Now let's, the next five minutes is gonna tell the tale.
01:47:06Ready to tell the tale right here.
01:47:07Scott Steiner has regrouped enough.
01:47:09Right here is a great move.
01:47:11Steiner line.
01:47:12That's a great move, this could turn it.
01:47:13I mean, the Nature Boy here is laying at my feet.
01:47:16Scott Steiner right here, he needs to get his wind,
01:47:18needs to get his breath, breath a little bit.
01:47:20He needs to work that leg a little bit,
01:47:22get that numbness out of it.
01:47:24He looks like he's ready for him.
01:47:25He needs to now go for it
01:47:27because I think there's six, five minutes left
01:47:29in this thing.
01:47:29If he's gonna win it, he's gonna win it now.
01:47:33Five minutes of TV time remaining.
01:47:36Five minutes remain.
01:47:38Well, Nick Patrick uses a pretty good discretion
01:47:41because he didn't,
01:47:45he let Rick Steiner help Flair back in the ring
01:47:47and that's all Rick was doing.
01:47:48He wasn't trying to hammer him or anything.
01:47:50No, I don't, I think right now Rick Steiner's just excited
01:47:53about his little brother being in there.
01:47:55I'm more concerned about Scott Steiner
01:47:57and what he does to Rick Flair right here.
01:47:58Look, he has it right there.
01:48:00I'm gonna tell you, Scott Steiner,
01:48:02don't look at no referee.
01:48:03Don't look at the crowd.
01:48:05If you're gonna hit him, hit him, baby.
01:48:07Flair now again, taking over offensively.
01:48:10He spins with a leg.
01:48:11Scott Steiner's got him.
01:48:12This could be it.
01:48:13He may have him.
01:48:14He may have him.
01:48:15One, two, and out.
01:48:16Inches away, inches away from a new champion of the world.
01:48:20I'll tell you, I know what it feels like
01:48:23and I mean, he was there,
01:48:24but you see him holding that leg.
01:48:27He's continuously holding that leg
01:48:28because it is numb as a cucumber right now.
01:48:30I'll tell you, it sure is, Jimbo.
01:48:33There are four minutes remaining, four minutes.
01:48:37Four minutes remaining of television time
01:48:41here at the class of champions.
01:48:42It's reversed by Scott Steiner.
01:48:44Sends Flair in.
01:48:45He's got him in a sleeper.
01:48:47He doesn't have it fully executed.
01:48:48He's got that one arm around us,
01:48:50but he's not, Flair keeps moving.
01:48:52Moving away from the pressure.
01:48:54Well, that's just experience because his,
01:48:56but his arms are so big and he's so powerful.
01:48:58He's got to do some damage right here to Ric Flair.
01:49:00He's got to have him in a hurting situation.
01:49:06Scott Steiner with a front face lock,
01:49:07but again, Flair near the ropes.
01:49:09Good officiating referee, Nick Patrick,
01:49:11calling for the break.
01:49:12Scott Steiner gives a clean break.
01:49:14There he goes for the starter line.
01:49:16He took him over.
01:49:18Judgment called by the referee.
01:49:21Well, I'm going to tell you what,
01:49:22Flair was standing in a situation
01:49:23with his back to the rope.
01:49:24Judgment called his right to blow.
01:49:26It's just like catching a pass
01:49:27and the defensive guy shoves you out of bounds,
01:49:29but you still caught the pass
01:49:30because you were in the field of play.
01:49:32That's what happened right there.
01:49:33Three minutes remaining.
01:49:36Three minutes remaining.
01:49:38And Flair now will work the clock one would think.
01:49:41Scott Steiner has got to turn it up a notch.
01:49:43He's got to get on the offensive.
01:49:45He's got 180 seconds to win the world's title
01:49:48here tonight on TBS.
01:49:49Well, you say Ric Flair might use the clock.
01:49:51I'd said that earlier, but right now I look at Ric Flair
01:49:54and that's the new Ric Flair.
01:49:55That's the man that is,
01:49:56that he is the world's heavyweight champion
01:49:57once again for the seventh time.
01:49:59And I think he wants to prove tonight
01:50:00on television throughout this country,
01:50:02on TBS, the Clash of Champions,
01:50:03that he can beat Scott Steiner.
01:50:05He don't want to go the distance with him.
01:50:07He wants to beat him.
01:50:08He's going for a pin here,
01:50:09but his feet are on the ropes.
01:50:11Scott Steiner powering out.
01:50:14Ric Steiner, I'll tell you,
01:50:16he's getting, his emotions are getting carried away here.
01:50:18Yeah, I'm telling you, but I don't blame him.
01:50:20I'm talking about his little brother.
01:50:21Oh, his little brother, right.
01:50:23You can't, you can't handcuff him.
01:50:25See the big giant back there?
01:50:27I know he's watching this thing
01:50:28and with a great anticipation
01:50:30of who's going to win this thing.
01:50:31As is, hero match suit him.
01:50:33Two minutes, there are two minutes remaining.
01:50:35Two minutes remaining of television time.
01:50:38Flair in control at this juncture.
01:50:41Side headlock, Steiner barely able to get that shoulder up.
01:50:45I had an old coach from Kentucky one time,
01:50:47an old Kentucky Wildcat tell me,
01:50:49says, right now, son, it is gut check time.
01:50:51It's gotta be for Scott Steiner.
01:50:53Steiner trying, look at that bridge.
01:50:57Can he get him up?
01:50:58He's bridging up by strength.
01:51:01What a move by Scott Steiner.
01:51:03Now he's got Flair in a suplex position.
01:51:06Takes him down.
01:51:07Shakes the ring.
01:51:09Flair now in trouble.
01:51:10Scott Steiner's got about a minute and a half to turn on.
01:51:13He's got to go get him.
01:51:14He's got to go get him.
01:51:17He's got to go get him.
01:51:18Scott Steiner's got to go get him, Jimbo.
01:51:20Flair is in so much trouble.
01:51:22Scott Steiner's got to get him back in the ring.
01:51:24Perhaps he should go out and bring him back in.
01:51:29Referee Nick Patrick counting.
01:51:31One minute.
01:51:32One minute remaining.
01:51:33Scott needs to go get him.
01:51:34I'm a little biased here.
01:51:35I'm excited.
01:51:36This kid needs to take it to him.
01:51:38He's got 60 seconds to win the world title.
01:51:43Flair with a kick.
01:51:44Stops the momentum momentarily.
01:51:47Back Steiner to the ropes.
01:51:49Irish rip to the middle of the ropes.
01:51:51And there's a Steiner line.
01:51:53Oh, Flair turned upside down.
01:51:54He needs to go for the cover.
01:51:56He needs to get him in a pin-in situation.
01:51:58What a battle here
01:51:59for the world's heavyweight championship.
01:52:0130 seconds remain.
01:52:0330 seconds.
01:52:04He's hammering away.
01:52:06He needs to go for a pin here.

01:52:10The people are standing in this building
01:52:11because Scott Steiner has an opportunity here
01:52:14and he needs to get a pin.

01:52:29Belly to belly.
01:52:30He may have him right here.
01:52:32One, two.
