00:01:47And where tonight, maybe as it was Monday night,

00:01:52war will break out again between WCW and the NWO.

00:01:56And along with Dusty Rhodes, the American Dream, and Bobby the Brain Heenan.

00:02:02I am Tony Schiavone and Brain as we left the fans on TNT on Monday night show.

00:02:08It was WCW against the NWO.

00:02:10And tonight in two tag team matches, Scott Hall, the Macho Man Randy Savage,

00:02:15Will Face, Diamond Dallas Page, and Lex Luger.

00:02:18What about that one?

00:02:19Well, they better call up General Schwarzkopf.

00:02:21They better get him out here in some reconnaissance planes in Napalm.

00:02:24Cuz this war could go all over.

00:02:26It could go all over Tennessee, all the way to Kentucky, who knows?

00:02:29Plus, Ric Flair and, as you know, fans,

00:02:31his tag team partner Kurt Henning against Konnan and Sixx.

00:02:34But also, Monday night, James J Dillon gave Sting until tonight to say yes.

00:02:39And I think we all know, even James J Dillon realizes what Sting wants to getting back in the ring.

00:05:42has become one of the baddest of them all,

00:05:44member of the Horsemen, Mongo.

00:05:48It's always a proven fact.

00:05:50When you're fighting or battling with emotion,

00:05:52sometimes it's costly and it makes you make mistakes.

00:05:55But let me tell you something about Mongo McMichael.

00:05:57He understands the situation.

00:05:59He sees his wife in there with another man.

00:06:02This has taken on a real different twist of fate,

00:06:06if you know what I'm talking about.

00:06:07Well, I wonder if he can stay focused.

00:06:09You know, Jarrett's no pushover.

00:09:03I don't think it's going to take much to get him upset.

00:09:12to get Mungo McMichael angry at anybody.

00:09:18though, Jeff Jarrett went in with a good game plan.

00:09:20When you take a look at it and see what I got to do,

00:09:22take the big man down, stay away from his power,

00:09:24and don't get hit with one of them.

00:09:33and Jarrett now sent to the left side.

00:09:36Irich Swiffin, Jarrett now takes the low road

00:09:39and tries to slow things down here, but here we go.

00:09:43and now Randy Anderson moved him back.

00:09:45Well, Mungo's got to realize to beat Jarrett,

00:09:48and to become United States champion,

00:09:50he's got to do it in the ring.

00:09:52Jeff Jarrett slowly trying to take advantage here,

00:09:56trying to slow down the momentum of Steve Mungo McMichael,

00:09:58and as he goes back into the ring,

00:10:36He finally pulled Mungo out,

00:10:38and Mungo was sent to the steps,

00:10:40now twice head first to those steel steps.

00:10:42Yeah, whatever game plan he had,

00:10:44it's worked to perfection,

00:10:45if you know what I'm talking about,

00:10:47because the big man, Mungo McMichael,

00:10:49now has been the real game plan

00:10:52of one Jeff Jarrett,

00:10:54trying to stomp a mud hole in him right here.

00:10:56And it seems to be working

00:10:57because he's got him where he wants him.

00:10:58He's got him down.

00:10:59He's had advantage of the match

00:11:01for more than half the match,

00:11:02so it's working for Jarrett.

00:11:04Now, the old strategy is

00:11:05to take the bigger man down off his feet.

00:11:07He did much more than that.

00:11:08He's almost polarized.

00:11:10The man on the outside head first,

00:11:12and many times...

00:12:14on that carotid artery right there.

00:12:15You know?

00:12:16The best way to get out of that thing

00:12:18is pull that hand down around the neck

00:12:20so the referee has to break it.

00:18:37but he has agreed to go into this match here on the Clash of Champions

00:18:42in wrestle.

00:18:43So it should be very interesting, their drink.

00:18:45Yeah.

00:18:46Let me tell you something about this situation, too.

00:18:48When you talk about impact ballplayers,

00:18:50impact men that come to WCW right here,

00:18:53where the big bars play,

00:18:54as you take a look here on CBS Superstation.

00:18:58And the bottom line with this situation here,

00:19:02There's been a falling out as Raven is coming from wherever he came from.

00:19:43And right now, Mickey J is asking Stevie Richards if that's okay with him.

00:19:50I never understood what kind of relationship they had.

00:20:40We do understand that Raven, over the course of time,

00:20:43during his pro wrestling career,

00:20:45has had six major surgeries on his ankle.

00:20:48Consequently, we understand that one foot is shorter than the other.

00:20:53And as a matter of fact, if you look closely,

00:20:55you'll notice that the right shoe is built up on Raven.

00:20:58There, you see it there.

00:21:01That's a good shot there by our camera crew.

00:26:29on Mexican professional wrestling, Lucha Libre,

00:26:32I had a chance to talk with the reigning

00:26:34World's TV champion, the Ultimate Dragon.

00:26:37Now, later tonight at the Clash,

00:26:39the Dragon will defend that World's TV title

00:26:42against Alex Wright.

00:26:44But first, let's take a video look

00:26:46at the long, rough road

00:26:48that the Dragon had to survive

00:26:50to arrive in WCW as a champion.

00:26:54Rejected in his homeland by New Japan Pro Wrestling,

00:26:57he traveled halfway around the world to pursue his dream.

00:27:00In Mexico, he was given the opportunity to prove himself.

00:27:03Along his journey, he capitalized

00:27:05by taking the eight championship belts of the J-Crown,

00:27:08unifying titles from Japan, Great Britain, and Mexico.

00:27:11Since his arrival in WCW,

00:27:13he captured the Cruiserweight title,

00:27:15and after splitting from Sonny Ono,

00:27:17he has claimed the World's TV championship.

00:29:49and that change of attitude that he has taken

00:29:53It surely has been successful for him.

00:29:55Alex Wright, the former Cruiserweight champion,

00:29:58just losing that belt to the Lionheart,

00:30:00Chris Jericho, last Saturday night on TBS.

00:30:03Well, how can you make such a stupid statement like that?

00:30:05When he was with Sonny Ono, he had nine titles.

00:30:07Now he isn't with Sonny Ono, and he's got one.

00:30:09Well, I'm going to tell you why,

00:30:10because the most prestigious title of all

00:30:12is right here at WCW.

00:30:13Oh, that's right.

00:30:14And that is the title that we are getting ready

00:30:16to see this match and contest, if you will,

00:30:19bring focused on.

00:30:36or as we see tonight, the Clash of the Champions

00:30:38against Alex Ride.

00:30:40Alex Ride looks in tip-top shape.

00:30:42You can tell that even though he lost

00:30:44recently the Cruiserweight Championship,

00:30:46like you said, Mike, to Lionheart Chris Jericho,

00:30:49that his confidence is back,

00:30:50and he has not let that one loss

00:30:51deter him of his efforts.

00:30:53Tried to pull Nelson,

00:30:54snapmared him over that time,

00:30:56and right now, he's having fun

00:30:57at the expense of Iktimo Dragon.

00:31:00I also think in terms of success

00:31:01for the Dragon without Sonny Ono,

00:31:03the WCW fans realize that he is accomplishing

00:31:06this championship reign on his own.

00:31:09A lot of people felt that when he had

00:31:10Sonny Ono in his corner,

00:31:11he would rely on Ono's illegal outside interference

00:31:14to win matches or championships.

00:31:16Exactly, good point.

00:31:24As you can see, maneuver that time by Alex Ride.

00:31:27Not only a change of attitude,

00:31:28but Alex Ride has come of age, wrestling-wise,

00:31:34and you get an attitude,

00:31:35and you go ahead and bust out on your own,

00:31:37and I really believe that's what Alex Ride has done.

00:31:40But you're so right, Iron Mike.

00:31:42The Ultimo Dragon, Ultimo, Ultimo Dragon,

00:31:45whatever you want to call it,

00:31:46that is really pound for pound.

00:31:48We use that old thing a lot.

00:31:49He's as good as you're gonna see anyway.

00:31:51Well, he certainly is because

00:31:52he combines the various styles.

00:31:54Adept at the lucha libre wrestling from Mexico.

00:31:57Of course, a master of the martial arts,

00:31:59the lethal kicks from Japan.

00:32:01And really, when it comes to mat wrestling,

00:32:03we've seen in the past how he's gone hold for hold

00:32:06with the likes of Dean Malenko,

00:32:07and I think Dean Malenko has to be considered

00:32:09about the best mat technician in the world today.

00:32:12And if he wants to climb those top ropes

00:32:14and dive to the floor, he can do that too.

00:32:16Sure, that's another element to his overall offense.

00:32:19Yeah, but how you gonna train for a thumb in the eye?

00:32:21And that's just what he had.

00:32:22He's gonna have to go ahead and understand

00:32:24that Alex Ride is after something,

00:32:27and he wants it bad,

00:32:28and he's gonna do anything in his power

00:32:30to go ahead and take it from him.

00:32:32We've seen it there.

00:32:34That was no lucha libre move.

00:32:35That was the old-fashioned thumb right in the eyeball

00:33:05the fans have really adopted Ultimo Dragon.
