00:00Wow, check this out.
00:03A lightning bolt was caught on video hitting the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington on
00:08Saturday.
00:09Spectacular.
00:10Wow.
00:11Beautiful.
00:12The atmosphere electrified.
00:16Of course, that's a very similar picture to maybe when we see the Empire State Building
00:21getting hit by lightning.
00:23You just don't see it every day and it's always quite fascinating and at least eye-catching
00:29every time it happens.
00:30Now we do have changes moving into the northwest and that's because we have an upper level
00:36low and we like to call an upper level low an area or a puddle of cool air aloft and
00:42that's exactly what is happening here in the west.
00:45Unseasonably cool air is going to be ushered in Thursday through Saturday.
00:49Dramatic changes.
00:51Highs are going to be changing from running on the warmer side to dropping about 10-20
00:56degrees below the historical averages.
00:59There's even going to be pockets of frost and we're talking high elevation snow through
01:03areas of the Cascades, parts of the northern or highest peaks of the mountain range in
01:09Idaho.
01:10That's where we could see some snow.
01:15Not consequential snow, but still snow nonetheless.
01:19As we head into Thursday, you'll see that it's going to be quite wet there in Portland
01:23and Medford.
01:24Highs remaining right in the 70s.
01:26Boise, you're at 95, still quite warm there.
01:29Las Vegas, you're at 104.
01:31Salt Lake City, 90.
01:32So you're hanging on to that warmth here for one more day, maybe one or two more days.
01:38You'll start to see those changes though.
01:39Boise, Thursday, you're at 95.
01:41Friday, 85.
01:43Saturday, you are at 67.
01:44Tracking big changes there, but also that fire threat remains through the start of the
01:49weekend.
