00:00You're talking about record lows for some parts of the country. I'm going to be discussing,
00:03unfortunately, you have the good news. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. See, they give Jeff the good
00:07news. They give the new guy the bad news here to share for the forecast. Right. So Jeff is talking
00:11about record lows. I'm going to be talking about record highs here as we head into the weekend.
00:14In fact, across Texas, pretty much all of central Texas will be under an excessive heat warning
00:20here as we head throughout the next 24 to 36 hours. And this is the primary reason why we
00:24have this stubborn area of high pressure right there across West Texas. And what that's doing,
00:29that's bringing all the sunshine and that sunshine is just baking the Southern Plains.
00:33We're going to see widespread 90s, widespread triple digits for temperatures. In fact,
00:38we're going to see some daily record highs challenged as we head into the weekend. So
00:42here's my highs for tomorrow. This is your Wednesday forecast. We'll see 80s in Arkansas.
00:47Arkansas is showing off a little bit, but for everyone else will be a mix of 90s and yes,
00:51widespread triple digits. 104 in Lubbock, 105 for Midland and Odessa. And right there for you folks
00:56in Houston, triple digit temperatures here for your Wednesday. Now those are the air temperatures.
01:01Whenever you factor in things like humidity, when you factor in things like sunshine,
01:04you get your exclusive AccuWeather real field conditions. And look at this, it's going to be
01:09as hot as 110 to 115 across the Gulf Coast in Texas. That is dangerously hot and meteorologist
01:15Bree Guy will have some updates on heat safety tips coming up. But overall, this is going to
01:19be the kind of weather we track and see as we head into the weekend. And speaking of heading
01:24into the weekend, I'm already looking forward to Saturday and Sunday, but your high temperatures
01:27across the Southern Plains for tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, pretty much 90s and triple digits.
01:32Dallas will be with 99 for both Thursday or Wednesday and Thursday, but it does look like
01:37Friday. We'll see temperatures back in the triple digits, 101. So Jeff was talking about, he had the
01:42good news with the record lows, right? These are the record highs. So look at this Del Rio, Texas.
01:48The number to beat is 106 at way back in 1917, a 100 year old record. Forecast high is 107, but
01:55also look at Lubbock, Texas. Their record high is 101. So climatologically speaking, this is the hottest
02:01time of year for the Southern Plains. So when you can beat a record this time of year, it's very
02:05impressive. But for Lubbock, when you can beat a record high by three degrees, that is almost
02:10unprecedented type of heat that we're going to be seeing.
