Repeated rounds of storms brought heavy rain to parts of Texas on Sept. 2, and that pattern will stretch east in the days to come.
Transcript
00:00We're going to have more rain where that came from in the days to come.
00:03And we have a slow-moving storm south of Alexandria, Louisiana, another one near the dam, south
00:07of the dam there for the Toledo Bend Reservoir.
00:10And otherwise, the storms have been keeping and the rain has been keeping temperatures
00:15way down.
00:16So while we're only at 65 in Lubbock, we're at 66 in Odessa, unusually, uncharacteristically
00:22cool air for this part of Texas for this early in the fall or maybe late summer, depending
00:28on how you define it, it is still officially summer.
00:31But farther east, we're at 93 in New Orleans right now, still very warm there.
00:35And tonight, we're going to see some scattered showers and storms for some.
00:38Not everybody, though, just some spotty storms around parts of the Gulf Coast area.
00:42And it'll stay pretty humid there, mid-70s and low-70s for a lot of our lows.
00:46Overall, this big dip in the jet stream will remain in place.
00:49We're going to see additional showers and thunderstorms.
00:53And if there is a theme over the next few days, it's that there will be a gradual, subtle
00:58movement from west to east with that area of rain.
01:01And by Wednesday and Thursday, we're going to be drier in west Texas and wetter into
01:06Louisiana.
01:07But we're into it here Tuesday with rain showers in many of these areas.
01:10Wednesday there, you can begin to see a little bit of drying off to the west.
01:13But Bree, it's going to eventually get wetter into parts of the southeast.
01:17But the northeast has a nice stretch coming for the next few days.
01:20Yeah, it's all due to this gorgeous high pressure.
01:23You're doing OK if you're in the northeast or the Great Lakes.
01:26Honestly, it's quite comfortable.
01:28The air is drier, temperature is not too hot, not too cool.
01:33High is reaching the 70s.
01:34It's that picture perfect, happy medium.
