01:22if they are obese or overweight, diabetic,
01:26taking low-cholesterol drugs,
01:28suddenly vomiting,
01:30and if they are at fault for having stones in the abdomen.
01:34If the first-degree relative has gallbladder stones,
01:37that particular patient has a two-fold risk or higher risk
01:44compared to a normal person who has gallbladder stones.
01:49Abdominal or gallbladder can be found under the liver.
01:52It is a small organ that is placed by the bile,
01:55the liquid that comes from the liver and helps in the dissolution of fat.
02:01There are two types of gallstones that can form in the abdomen.
02:04If the bile has a high cholesterol content,
02:07it becomes a cholesterol stone.
02:10And a pigment stone if it has a high bilirubin content.
02:13Bilirubin is a chemical produced by the liver
02:16to kill the old red blood cells.
02:20Actually, if it's less than 0.5 cm, the size of the stone,
02:23you can actually give medications to flush it out.
02:26But if the stone is actually more than 0.5 cm,
02:29there's no way to flush it out because it will become barren.
02:32So the only way is to do cholecystectomy.
02:35Cholecystectomy is the operation where the abdomen is removed.
02:41Based on the ultrasound and CT scan of JR,
02:44his gallstone is over 2 cm in size.
02:47That's why it needs to be operated.
02:50That's why on the first day of June,
02:52he underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
02:57In this operation, there are three ports or plastic tubes
03:00that are inserted inside the body.
03:02The first port is the camera port.
03:04It goes inside the umbilical cord.
03:07When the camera port enters, it is hooked to a large monitor.
03:11So the surgeon can see the inside of the patient.
03:14So he can see the liver, the stomach,
03:17the extraluminal of the intestines.
03:20Additional port is on the ipagastic area.
03:23That's the right hand of the surgeon.
03:26Another port here on the right side of the patient,
03:29that's the left hand.
03:30So those are the only gadgets inside,
03:33but it's controlled by the surgeon.
03:35When the instruments are inserted,
03:37the abdomen is removed.
03:39The cystic duct is clipped,
03:41the cystic artery,
03:42so that the gallbladder can be cut
03:44and the gallbladder can be removed through the umbilicus.
