00:00Almost every day, Rhea wears the same clothes for the past 30 years.
00:08But this is not required in her job as an admin manager.
00:13She does this to cover up the bruises on her neck.
00:18Of course, it's embarrassing and at the same time, it's conscious.
00:22Especially when you have to attend parties and expose the parts with warts.
00:28So, it's conscious and embarrassing.
00:32In 2016, a small lump started to grow on Rhea's neck.
00:38But instead of disappearing, in the past two years, it seems like it's still growing.
00:44I was surprised because I didn't expect it to grow up to the middle of my neck.
00:50How long are your warts?
00:52When Rhea asked our resident dermatologist, Dr. Jean,
00:55it was confirmed that the warts grew on her neck.
01:00This is commonly called Human Papilloma Virus or HPV.
01:06Usually, it's skin-to-skin contact.
01:09You can also get it from the surroundings.
01:12Because the virus, for a certain period of time, lives in our surroundings.
01:19Although only one type of virus causes the warts to grow,
01:23there are different types of it, depending on how it looks or where it grows.
01:30For example, the plantar warts usually grow in the armpits.
01:35The genital warts usually grow in the woman's body.
01:39And the so-called warts that grow on the neck, which are usually small but lumpy, are filiform warts.
01:46Like in Rhea's case, the warts are usually caught by touching.
01:52If you touch your warts and you touch other parts of your body,
01:57a new wart can grow here.
02:00If we share personal items with a wart, like a towel, we can also get infected.
02:07If our immune system or our resistance is low, we can easily get infected.
02:12But Dr. Jean, is it true that warts can also be caught by touching?
02:17It's not true.
02:19Warts that can be touched can't be transferred to humans.
02:24It doesn't live.
02:26That's why they say that warts look like they can be scratched.
02:32But it's not true.
02:34It can't be caught by touching.
02:36When it comes to removing warts,
02:38many people think that if we cut the upper part of the warts,
02:42for example, using a nail cutter, the warts will be completely removed.
02:47The more you cut, the more it will seed or implant.
02:53And later, if you poke it, the warts will penetrate deeper.
02:58It will be harder to remove.
03:00But Dr. Jean explained again,
03:02that in removing warts, carbon dioxide laser is still the best.
03:07In this process, it penetrates deep into the warts.
03:10You will feel a little heat.
03:12But don't worry.
03:14The healing is actually better than the regular surgery.
03:18And less painful, of course, because you have anesthesia.
03:23Remember, dear viewers,
03:25that in a licensed dermatologist, warts should be removed.
03:29Don't try to burn it using a candle or fire.
03:33Instead of getting rid of it, it might cause complications.
03:39Aside from the carbon dioxide laser,
03:41we will also teach you some contra-warts tips that you can do at home.
03:48For example, putting a candle or fire in your house.
03:52You can put a candle or fire in your house.
03:55For example, putting garlic in the warts.
04:00And cover it with a bandage.
04:03Garlic is rich in what is called allicin,
04:06a chemical that is effective in killing microbes and viruses.
04:12The same goes for the baking powder mixed with castor oil.
04:17When it becomes a paste, it will be spread in the warts.
04:20You can also apply it to the warts.
04:23Do it every night until the warts become smaller.
04:26But as we always remind you,
04:29if the warts are still there,
04:31it's better to consult with an expert.
04:34It's better if they go to the doctor.
04:37They might need to be given vitamins to boost their immune system.
04:40And of course, lots of sleep and good exercise.
04:43Because otherwise, it can go back and forth.
04:46Because if you neglect it,
04:47it will increase in number and can lead to complications.
04:53Remember, it's simple to avoid warts.
04:57Just be careful and clean your body.
