00:00:19The Patriots know that this is a huge game if the Jets lose.

00:01:29and gets just a couple of yards before backer Keith Newman takes him down.

00:01:33I think that's what they did in the first half.

00:01:34They just handed it to Smith, let him run up in there, pounded him a little bit,

00:01:39got the defense thinking they're going to have to jump into the line of scrimmage to stop that run

00:01:43and then hit him for the deep ball.

00:01:46Bill's defense with only 25 sacks this season.

00:01:49You see the Patriots are commanding 7-1, one loss record when they've led it to half.

00:01:57It was only 25 sacks through those first 12 games.

00:02:11Their tight ends have just disappeared in the pass offense.

00:02:14I think a team like the New England Patriots can overcome that to a certain extent,

00:02:18especially when you get a guy like Terry Glynn coming in as a third wide receiver.

00:02:22That gives you something that a lot of teams don't have.

00:02:25So you can kind of live with the lack of a tight end in your passing game as long as he's there in the run game.

00:02:31Brady, who's averaged over 70% in the last five games, the total of the five games,

00:02:37he's hitting only 44% of his throws today.

00:02:40On the run, Brady tucks the ball and knives for a first down.

00:02:44Ball on the field I think was down by contact.

00:02:47And that is the signal as Brady gets ahead on a rare scramble for 12 yards and a first down.

00:02:52Nothing breaks a defense down more than when a quarterback can run when you don't expect him to run.

00:02:58There's nothing you can do about this that Bills are backing out into pass coverage.

00:03:01They push the pass rush past him.

00:03:03This is what he does well.

00:03:04He's still got his eyes downfield.

00:03:06And you know that pump fake is five yards down the field.

00:03:09He can't throw the football, but the defenders always bite on the pump fake.

00:03:12You see there, the ground caused that fumble, so that's a non-issue.

01:04:03game and it makes no sense

01:04:04because you see here a Buffalo

01:04:06Bills team at two and 10 just

01:04:07trying to finish strong and put

01:04:08a positive spin on a rebuilding

01:04:10year and the Patriots on a

01:04:11playoff run with an excellent

01:04:13football team physical hard

01:04:14nose yet neither team looks like

01:04:19they're going to be able to

01:04:19turn this game around and

01:04:21win one game against the other

01:04:25man tell what he's got to really

01:04:27look out for now is the

01:04:29turnover it be a defense very

01:04:32good at taking the ball away for

01:04:36wide receiver set loan back

01:05:30the years between the Bills and

01:05:31the Patriots both games last

01:05:33year went into overtime and one

01:05:35game in 1999 did the game this

01:05:38year this 10 point game in 2001

01:05:41that 10 point margin was gotten

01:05:43on the last play by Antoine

01:05:45Smith when the Bills were down

01:05:47by three points and were trying

01:05:49to strip the football and he

01:05:50broke off a 40 yard run even

01:05:53that game went down to the wire

01:08:07good at tipping ball that's

01:08:14been a major contributor in his

01:08:16first year as a Patriot one of

01:08:17the things the Patriots are

01:08:18doing when the ball snap look at

01:08:25player on the field was deeper

01:11:53And they do not make the

01:11:54completion looking for a flag

01:11:56and none forthcoming rule that

01:11:58the hit by Otis Smith was right

01:14:16about the players.

01:14:17You see the offensive line to

01:14:18the Patriots.

01:14:19They have just been manhandled

01:14:20in the second half.

01:14:21They haven't had an answer for

01:14:23the Bills pressure.

01:14:24Now all of a sudden you get into

01:14:25overtime and they're a different

01:14:27bunch of guys.

01:14:29How much difference does playing

01:14:30on the road mean at a time like

01:14:32this.

01:14:32You're just happy to get to

01:14:33overtime in a tough game like

01:14:34this.

01:14:35You feel like you've really done

01:14:36something to play this well on

01:14:37the road.

01:14:42The handoff and Antoine Smith

01:14:44the former bill who went to the

01:14:46Patriots this year as a free

01:14:47agent and has been their most

01:14:49productive runner.

01:14:52He takes it ahead for not very

01:14:53much.

01:14:54I think you and I have both

01:14:55talked about they have really

01:14:56gotten away from him in the

01:14:57second half.

01:14:58I really feel like he's a guy

01:14:59that could have helped them more

01:15:00had they handed him the ball a

01:15:02few more times especially after

01:15:04halftime 17 carries 52 yards so

01:15:07far for Antoine Smith.

01:15:08What a great story he is.

01:15:10He after high school he worked

01:15:12for three years in a dying cloth

01:15:16in a factory he said in Alabama

01:15:18to help support his

01:15:18grandparents who didn't have done

01:15:20so much for him.

01:15:21It's interesting too he turned

01:15:22down a college scholarship

01:15:24because he felt an obligation to

01:15:25help them out and that I know

01:15:30that when the Buffalo Bills

01:15:31drafted him that was one of the

01:15:32things that sold them on Antoine

01:15:34Smith that he was willing to do

01:15:36that for his family and forego a

01:15:37college career for three years

01:15:39before he went back to school

01:15:40through the junior college

01:15:41system.

01:15:43He did he fulfilled obligations

01:15:44that he felt he had to his

01:15:47family and that sold him at the

01:15:50NFL level.

01:15:52And I like the character part of

01:15:53it.

01:15:54He certainly has that as well as

01:15:55the ability to run hard.

01:15:56But in the second half he has

01:15:57only six yards rushing.

01:15:59He had 46 in the first half.

01:16:02He said Steve they got away from

01:16:03the running game.

01:16:06Now the Patriots dig in its

01:16:08third and a very short power set

01:16:10double tights.

01:16:12And the Patriots lead back is

01:16:14Edwards the fullback.

01:16:16High back gets the ball and he

01:16:18has the first down for New

01:16:19England as he crosses the forty

01:16:21five Antoine Smith all two

01:16:24hundred thirty pounds of him.

01:16:26That's that low pad level he's

01:16:28tall but he can get down low.

01:16:44Belichick a big believer in the

01:16:45value of the back is really

01:16:47determined what he does after

01:16:48the first hit yards after

01:16:50contact.

01:16:53Brady said himself a lot of

01:16:56different formations.

01:16:58Brady rolling throwing making a

01:17:01connection to Troy Brown hit

01:17:03hard balls on the field.

01:17:05It might be the Bill's ball if

01:17:06it's real to catch.

01:17:07He's got a big hit.

01:21:36were sacked they gave up seven

01:21:37sacks of Brady their pass

01:21:39blockers did and they had

01:21:41turnover problems so everything

01:21:43looks to be call on field to be

01:21:45upheld and that's just one more

01:21:50enormous hit that we've seen

01:21:51during this game today once Tom

01:21:54Brady's helmet was flung 12

01:21:56yards backward Travis Henry got

01:22:00hit flew five yards out of

01:22:02bounds that hit a moment ago

01:22:04that you saw and I'll tell you

01:22:04what Don you look at that guy

01:22:06Tom Brady and his second year

01:22:09and you see him come in and sit

01:22:10down and talk with him he looks

01:22:11like he's 15 years old barely

01:22:13old enough to have a driver's

01:22:14license but he's so well

01:22:16grounded you'd think his feet

01:22:18were planted in the ground I

01:22:19mean they were like buried a

01:22:21foot deep in the ground I mean

01:22:22this guy he got planted a couple

01:22:23times today but not like he

01:22:24would like to be so unaffected

01:22:26by it all and I think that's the

01:22:28thing that I think endears him

01:22:29to his teammates as much as

01:22:30anything plus the fact that when

01:22:31his helmet went flying the other

01:22:32way he got up and shook it off

01:22:35we're taking another high end

01:22:36zone look making very sure this

01:24:11into it and rightfully so I

01:24:17broken leg but I'm telling you

01:24:19I have a great deal of respect

01:24:20for him he's a terrific he's one

01:24:21of the top of his as you said

01:24:22Don he's only been in the league

01:24:2312 years and he skyrocketed

01:24:26through the officials because of

01:24:28situations like this he makes

01:24:30the right call even if it makes

01:24:32his crew look bad for the first

01:24:34call I mean this guy how many

01:24:36people would know that rule that

01:24:37the ball made his days in the

01:24:39possession of the team with their

01:24:40guy is out of bounds he doesn't

01:24:42have his hands and his leg is at

01:24:43it well there's a guy right there

01:24:44that probably is just now being

01:24:46informed of that rule Ralph

01:24:48Wilson the greatest Buffalo

01:24:49Bill of them all and here comes

01:24:52the run and again Antoine Smith

01:24:53that comes out of the gap he

01:24:55broke a long touchdown run in

01:27:42so the Bills may pick up about a

01:27:45here well I would see from this

01:27:49point a sure thing that the

01:27:50Patriots if they don't get it in

01:27:52and three tries we'll kick an

01:27:54easy field goal be like an extra

01:27:55point for Benitary but sometimes

01:27:59the ball pops out before you
