02:09 You're down one day. Twenty one pounds.
02:11 You're down 21 pounds.
02:12 So I'm all for this eating plan. It's not taking the the the pen, the the diabetes or anything.
02:19 It's all been this diet and eating right. No, no.
02:21 Right. That's it. So I'm kind of mad because someone and I don't know who did sent me a Christmas present and said, happy holidays to you and your family to the house.
02:33 And it was a tin of toffee, butter toffee, butter toffee.
02:39 And I'm like, oh, I know. Sorry. I'm going to I'm just going to, you know.
02:42 Yeah. It's worth it, though.
02:45 I know. Came back a couple of those. You've lost 21.
02:48 You came back a pound or two from the butter toffee.
02:50 Right. But I haven't been on sugar and stuff. So that's what they've been totally out of sugar.
02:54 And so I ate some last night and I didn't eat one.
02:57 I didn't eat two. I didn't eat three.
03:00 You ate the whole tin.
03:06 I feel like I wonder I don't know who sent it to me, so I don't know if it's from someone station or someone else, but sugar hangover.
03:16 Yeah, I'm a big sugar hangover right now and I feel it.
03:18 That's kind of like, oh, but, you know, do you ever get gifts from things for people you don't know what it is and you're like, oh, why did they send this to me?
03:24 You know, we got a lot of gifts actually for Arlo.
03:27 We had our baby registry that people didn't send their names or their cards.
03:30 So I have all this great stuff that I was like, I don't know who got us this.
03:34 But what was the one cool thing that you got for them?
03:37 What was one thing that we didn't know who it came from?
03:41 So what were some cool things that we got?
03:43 Oh, we got a whole pack of like baby, like aqua for.
03:48 Oh, yeah, that was me.

05:13 Yeah, because they were playing.
05:14 Oh wow, they were like predicting the future.

05:17 And also, too, they did Tupac at Coachella one year that really everyone was like, "What in the world is a giant one?"
05:26 Well, I know they did Whitney Houston a while ago and people were not happy about it.
05:30 People didn't like it.
05:31 So, I don't know.

05:35 Although I will say, if anybody in here ever messes around with A.I. and let it create things for you, it does not do faces very well.

07:09 Our managed mom, Rachel Harris, is back with another road trip with Rach, and this time she visited beautiful Marina Del Rey, California, where I actually used to live.
07:17 When I moved to California to start my career a little bit, my friend had a place in Marina Del Rey, and so he let me stay there on his couch.
07:25 Oh, man.
07:26 I love Marina Del Rey.
07:27 Oh, my gosh.
07:28 And it's kind of a hidden gem.
07:29 It's so easy to get to from Phoenix.
07:31 Six-hour drive, hour flight, and as you know, it's just 10 minutes away from LAX, so you can fly in, be there quickly, but you don't hear the noise of the airplanes.
07:41 No, you don't.
07:42 You're just by the quiet Marina.
07:43 You know, and it's exciting, and it's also peaceful all in one.
07:47 You know you lived there.
07:48 I'm so envious.
07:49 Yeah, I lived there.
07:50 It was way back, so this is back in -- I will do a little quick name drop, but Suzanne Summers was our neighbor.
07:55 Oh, that's so cool.
07:56 And then the women's volleyball team would practice in front, so I was pretty much in heaven.
08:01 I bet.
08:02 But you were in heaven because this was a great trip for you because your daughter's over there.
08:06 And my son.
08:07 Oh, that's right.
08:08 And my daughter-in-law.
08:09 So I get to go anyway, so I decided to turn it into one of my road trip with Rach segments because it's cold right now, and it's time to get away from that, start, you know, imagining where we're going to go this year.
08:21 Yeah.
08:22 And it's so easy to get there, and I brought you guys some cake.
08:24 I will dive into this a little bit later from Marina Del Rey.

08:40 Okay, that's what we were seeing a little bit.

08:43 Have you ever been parasailing?

08:45 Oh, you have.

08:47 In Marina Del Rey?
08:48 No, actually this is like down in the Bahamas somewhere.
08:49 Okay, well, let me tell you what I love about going there is the water is calm, peaceful.
08:53 The crew is fantastic.
08:54 We went on my daughter's 22nd birthday, and it's called Marina Del Rey Parasailing.
09:00 That is Simon getting me set up in my life jacket and harness, and it's so beautiful
09:07 just to go out on the boat.
09:08 And then when it's time to launch, you actually sit on the front of the boat, Brad, and then
09:13 it pulls you up.
09:15 But let me tell you, it's very calm.
09:17 You can even get a sense from my video.
09:19 This is what it feels like.
09:20 Yeah, and you guys aren't dressed.
09:21 I thought you'd have to be in a bathing suit or something.
09:23 No, well, you can if you want, because when they bring you down, if you want, you can
09:27 dip your toes in the water.
09:28 We did not do that, and I think next time I will, just because if you do that, you have
09:32 to go out barefoot, and I was afraid my toesies would get cold, Brad.
09:35 And it was a little bit chilly up there, but look how high we got.
09:39 Oh, yeah.
09:40 Views of Santa Monica, of course, the beautiful Pacific Ocean.
09:45 You could see sea life in the water.
09:47 Wow.
09:48 What I want to tell you is very experienced.
09:49 They're U.S. Coast Guard licensed masters, and I will tell you, the only thing to know
09:55 is once you're up there, there's really no communication with the boat.
09:58 I suppose you could wave your arms, but we were 800 feet up, Brad, so I don't know that
10:03 they would see us.
10:04 Look at that.
10:05 You can see the distance from there.
10:06 Wow.
10:07 But I don't really think that matters.
10:08 I just like to let people know, because other than that, it was just perfect from start
10:11 to finish.

10:36 You know, that's the thing.
10:37 I just lived there and was kind of like trying to be a star.

10:39 But brunch cruising, what's going on there?
10:40 So you didn't take any time to have fun.
10:41 Yeah.
10:42 Well, I did some other fun stuff, but not really getting out on the water there.
10:44 Yeah.
10:45 And I'm going to show you that video because I go to Marina Del Rey all the time, and I
10:48 never go on the water.
10:49 So doing this report encouraged me to book some fun activities.
10:54 So this is the brunch cruise, and let me tell you what we're going to love about this, Brad.
10:58 Bottomless mimosas.
11:00 Oh, yes.
11:01 Bottomless champagne.
11:02 And two hours, the food was decadent, worth every calorie.
11:09 And there's the front of the boat.
11:11 Beautiful boat, beautiful day.
11:13 Look at the desserts.
11:15 Lots to choose from, just like the buffet, which was very extensive with breakfast items
11:21 and lunch items.
11:23 And look at that.
11:25 All the food groups.
11:27 And then in a minute, you're going to see my plate of food, and I did not hold back.
11:31 I ate it all, Brad.
11:33 It was so good.
11:35 And the boat has three levels, so you can go up to the top deck.
11:39 And our waiter was so attentive.
11:41 He just came and kept filling our glasses, because they say it's bottomless, and it sure is.
11:47 It sure is.
11:48 So I do recommend that as well.
11:51 I love it.
11:52 So fun.
11:53 That's good.
11:54 All right.
11:55 So was there one more we're going to do?
11:56 Yes, let's do one more.
11:57 Really quick.
11:58 So we also rented our own boat, and you can do this through Marina Del Rey Boat Rentals.

12:03 We did the Duffy electric boat.
12:05 There's my son driving.
12:06 We brought our own food, our own drinks, and it was a good value, because for a two-hour boat rental, it was $304, up to 12 people.
12:16 So if you split the cost, that's pretty economical.
12:19 So we had a blast.
12:20 I highly recommend doing that as well.

13:38 And this is one of my favorite volunteer events every year.
13:42 And it's just great to come back year after year.
13:45 It keeps getting better.
13:46 And I think we helped more people than ever this year.
13:49 Oh, absolutely.
13:50 This year was incredible.
13:53 It was a huge year.
13:54 We're going to get into numbers here in a second.
13:56 But tell me a little bit about this year and what made it different, what made it special from years in the past.
14:03 Well, I think there were, coming out of the pandemic, I think there were a lot of unmet needs that we recognized.
14:11 And with inflation and things costing more, people were having a hard time.
14:15 And I think it was important for us to step up and kind of help fill that gap.
14:19 And this was one way to do it.
14:22 Definitely.
14:23 You make a really, really great point that immediately after 2020, after the pandemic, everybody was kind of stepping up to help, right?
14:32 But in years past, I mean, it's been a couple years now, it's 2024, this initiative was in 2023, so it's been a couple years.
14:38 Maybe not everybody is stepping up in the way that they were right after the pandemic.
14:43 But there's still a huge need out there.
14:46 And that's where you guys come in, and that's where you helped fill that need in an incredible way this year.
14:51 Yeah, and we feel really strong about supporting the communities that we serve.
14:56 And, you know, that just helps everybody.
14:58 So, let's get into these numbers, because these numbers are incredible.
15:04 Tell me a little bit about your community involvement and how many people you were able to help, how many lives you touched this season.
15:11 Well, I'll talk about our employees, first of all.
15:13 Our employees donated 18,000 volunteer hours this year.
15:18 Wow!
15:19 Which is a new record for us.
15:21 And, you know, a lot of people tell me one of the reasons they come to work for us is because of our community involvement.
15:27 And so we did help more people than ever.
15:30 We did $300,000 in grants to local nonprofits this year throughout Arizona.
15:37 And, you know, the needs are great, and, you know, we're trying to fulfill as many as we can.
15:42 And that is incredible.
15:44 Those numbers are huge.
15:46 I know just here with us at Channel 7, through our Hometown Heroes Toy Drive, we were able to give away 10,000 toys.
15:53 That is incredible.
15:55 And we were both there for the Zoo Lights event with 64 families of wounded heroes, their families, their Gold Star families.
16:04 It was so emotional for me.
16:07 It was my first year there.
16:09 How did it feel to you that night?
16:11 Like, tell us a little bit about it.
16:12 You know, it's always a special time.
16:14 This year was extra special.
16:16 I always bring one of my daughters with me, and we got to have dinner with a family.
16:22 And it turned out it was a longtime Desert Financial member.
16:26 Oh, wow.
16:27 And, again, our members always also tell us they appreciate that we do things like this.
16:33 Definitely.
16:34 And it doesn't go unnoticed.
16:36 You make a huge impact in the community for sure.
16:39 We are so honored that we got to do this with you for the fourth year in a row, and we're looking forward to year five.

17:13 Any time we have questions about your options when it comes to investing in finance, we talk to Eric from SBC.

17:19 Well, thanks for having me once again.
17:20 There is a term that more and more people are becoming familiar with, and it's the petrodollar, because of what China is doing in other countries.
17:27 Can you explain what this is and what's going on?
17:29 Okay.
17:30 So, to kind of summarize it, the petrodollar was what we used to replace the gold standard when we went off of the gold standard in '71.
17:40 By '73, we shook hands with Saudi Arabia and the petronations to make sure that they would use only U.S. dollars in trade internationally for that of petro.
17:50 So, this gave us a stronghold all over the world when it came to our currency dominance, because they would have to go through us to get to them.
17:59 And that was honestly – that was a handshake deal.
18:02 You're not being facetious.
18:04 It really was just a handshake.
18:05 Absolutely.
18:06 Not only was it a handshake, but it was something that has given us dominance since the '70s.
18:13 And here we are in 2023, and for the first time ever, that's being jeopardized, because China right now sees an opportunity.
18:23 The current administration is very anti-petro, if you would.
18:26 And then we saw China go to Saudi Arabia and then do a diplomatic approach when they brought Iran and Saudi Arabia to the table together in peace negotiations.
18:38 And then also, immediately following that, we saw for the first time the yuan being exchanged for petro out of Saudi Arabia.
18:47 So, I mean, this is a huge game changer, and it's something that everybody is going to feel eventually.
18:55 Isn't India a little involved in this in a way, too, with the petrodollar?
18:58 Aren't they trying to advance in that area?
19:00 Not only India, but, I mean, there are many nations around the Middle East.
19:05 The more you look into this, the more you're going to find that it is a rabbit hole that you're going to tumble down.
19:12 And the likely outcome here is that we are no longer going to reserve our currency as the petro standard.
19:18 And that is going to possibly jeopardize, not possibly, but it will jeopardize our currency as the reserve currency of the world.
19:27 And the big problem with that is we've got so much debt, what keeps us afloat is the fact that we're number one.
19:33 But what if we weren't number one?
19:35 I mean, Mike, I'm sure you probably would have concerns about that.
19:38 Right. Yeah.
19:39 And so, if that's happening, if the dollar is weakening around the world, which it appears like it is, how is gold, or what do you recommend?
19:46 What is a way to protect yourself?
19:48 Well, the reason why gold, in uncertain times, the only certain thing is gold.
19:54 And the reason why is because you go back as far as you want, gold has always been a standard of money worldwide.
20:00 Not just in our country, but, you know, there's no way that we're going to find in our lifetimes or the next gold not being a standard of money.
20:10 And therefore, if you retreat and put money into something like gold, you know it's going to be there no matter what happens to the currency that, you know, your country provides to your citizens.
20:22 Well, I know that you talk about just when you say gold, but I know that there are a lot of different options and a lot of different things that you can buy, whether it's physical gold or whatever it is.
20:32 If people want to learn more on what the right thing to buy is, not just gold, but how to buy it, how do you do that?

24:10 So yeah. Because it's so hot here and funky. Yeah. Right. Yeah. That makes sense.
24:14 Yeah. But you know what? You can't be that mad at people who have maybe they got a little funk going on because it is so hot.

27:30 According to a recent survey commissioned by Box Tops for Education, teachers are one of the most trusted individuals of influence in their community,
27:38 following first responders, doctors and nurses.
27:41 Yesterday, I talked with Emmy-nominated author, MIT engineer expert and mom of two, Emily Calandrelli,
27:47 about some tips on how anyone can get involved and support schools.

27:54 Good morning, Emily. Thank you for being here.
27:57 Good morning. So tell me a little bit about as children are returning to the classroom, how can the community support schools?
28:06 Right. So I know so many of us are always looking for ways to support kids and teachers and schools in our area.
28:13 And one of the easiest ways that we can do that is with the Box Tops for Education app.
28:18 I'm sure many people remember, like, cutting off box tops from the cereals that we ate as a child
28:25 and, like, bringing those physically into the school.
28:28 But now there's an app and it makes it super easy.
28:31 So all you have to do is scan your grocery receipt and it automatically knows what products you bought were box tops participating products
28:40 and it automatically tallies up the cash that you've earned for your school.
28:44 So it's a super simple way to literally earn cash for schools.
28:47 These schools receive a check in the mail to help support the incredible work they're already doing.
28:51 And it's a really simple way for all of us to participate in that.
28:54 And, you know, I do remember doing that as a kid, getting those box tops.
28:57 And it was always kind of a fun thing to as a little kid.
29:00 So why is it important for families to do this?
29:03 Yeah, I mean, you know, teachers are always in need of more resources to do the work that they do.
29:10 And teachers are often our first line of defense when it comes to inspiring kids to want to learn, to be curious.
29:18 My tagline is always stay curious and keep exploring.
29:20 And I feel like teachers are the number one way that we can help make sure the next generation does that.
29:26 And this is a simple way to help support teachers and not go.
29:30 You know, my mom is a teacher. And so everything you said is fantastic.
29:34 I know she can always use more resources and the more we can help, the better.
29:38 And tell me how this kind of a program helps create more equity in the classroom.
29:43 Absolutely. So the coolest thing about this app is that you don't need to have a kid in school.
29:49 You don't even need to be a parent to participate in it.
29:52 Anybody can do this and you can choose a school in your area.
29:56 But an additional thing that I think is really interesting is that the app allows you to choose a school in need.
30:02 So if you don't have a school in mind, you can just go to the app and click school in need.
30:07 And it identifies Title One schools.
30:09 And so you can find a school that can use a little bit more extra resources and help support them every time you grocery shop.
30:16 Wow, that's so great. I mean, because for me, I am a mom, but my child is still very, very little.
30:21 He is not quite school aged yet.
30:23 So I can pick a school, for instance, that maybe he would go to or maybe even that he won't that I see in my community that needs help.
30:32 Exactly. I'm in the same boat. My kids are four and one and they're not yet in public schools.
30:37 And so for me, I just choose a school in my home state of West Virginia to support, like the great school that I went to growing up.
30:44 And anybody can do this. You can just pick a school that's a participating school and box tops to support.
30:49 It's really nice. And you're getting to eat some delicious cereal along with this great program.
30:55 So is there anything else you want people to know who are getting involved?
30:58 Yeah, one of the fun things they're doing right now is there's a sweepstakes.
31:02 So anybody who downloads the box hops for education app and scans a receipt with box tops participating products is automatically entered to win twenty thousand dollars for a school of their choice.
31:14 And to learn more about that and everything else box tops related, you can go to box tops for the number for education dot com.
31:22 Oh, my gosh, that's incredible. So not only can you help them out kind of on a regular basis through the app,
31:29 but when you're entering, you could potentially be winning them tens of thousands of dollars, literally 20 grand. That's huge.
31:37 It's huge, absolutely. And the number that really stands out in my mind is that box tops has been around for twenty five years.
31:44 And over the course of those two and a half decades, they've helped families earn nearly a billion dollars for schools across the country.
31:53 So the money adds up really quickly. It's really exciting. Like be with it with like billion with a B.

32:10 You know what? This is a terrific restaurant town. I'm talking about Metropolitan Phoenix.
32:15 And it's a terrific town for a whole lot of things besides the climate.
32:19 But maybe near the top of the list as far as the world of entertainment is concerned, it's a great theater town.
32:26 And it has been an even better theater town since the Herberger. Wouldn't you say so?
32:32 Oh, most definitely. Cicely Weiner, Herberger Theatres director of community engagement.
32:37 What exactly does that mean? Yes. So I oversee all of the outreach and youth programs at the Herberger Theatre Center.
32:45 And I don't think that a lot of people necessarily know that there are youth programs.
32:50 You help kids who are aspiring actors and dancers. Most definitely.
32:54 Through our Arizona Young Artists Competition. And then, of course, our Wolf Trap program,
33:00 which is for the young people, young, young, young people like us. Exactly.
33:06 Well, and I knew that part of your your responsibilities at the Herberger are to come down to television shows like this one.
33:14 And tell us what is the latest because the Herberger is an entertainment monument here.
33:20 How many years? Well, quite a few years. But I will say I did come here for lunchtime theater today.
33:28 Not First Friday Live, our performance pop ups. But yes.
33:32 No. Well, we're about to talk about theater that most people associate with an evening out and the spotlights and so on.
33:41 We're talking about lunch. Yes. What does that mean?
33:45 Lunchtime theater. We are in year twenty three for lunchtime theater at the Herberger Theatre Center on the CACS stage.
33:55 There's an awful lot of folks who don't find it convenient always to be able to go out in the evening for whatever reason.
34:02 They're taking care of the kids or whatever. And so they don't get to theater or entertainment as much as they'd like to live entertainment.
34:10 And now you're telling me and us and them that you can go and have lunch at the same time.
34:17 You better believe it. Lunchtime theater, 45, 50 minute one act plays run for two weeks.
34:25 Tickets are ten dollars. Lunch is twelve dollars.
34:29 Or you can bring your own bag lunch. And let me tell you, it is a good time.
34:34 So if you want to have some good lunch during your lunch hour, come on down and see some wonderful theater.
34:41 You may know as a theater guy myself, this is called draw a gate with surprise.
34:49 And those those those are the drama cues. But it's sincere because you just said ten bucks.
34:57 Yes. You can go and see a one act play. Yes. Sometimes music.
35:04 Oh, my goodness. Everything. We have comedy this season.
35:08 I have an autobiographical monologue. We have dance this season and two musicals.
35:14 How many days a week? Well, seven days a week. So each play runs for two weeks.
35:20 And all I have to do is to call the Herberger and find out.
35:23 Yes. Call our online. Go ahead and purchase your ten dollar tickets or your twelve dollar lunch.
35:30 Yes, indeed. There's some folks in Gilbert right now just got here from Memphis, Tennessee,
35:36 and they don't necessarily know where the Herberger is.
35:40 It's about as centrally located as you can get.
35:43 Most definitely. Downtown cultural hub right there on Monroe between Second and Third Street.
35:50 Yeah. Symphony Hall is over there. The Hyatt Regency Hotel over there.
35:56 And there's the Herberger. There's the Herberger. Named after that great Herberger family that started it all.
36:02 You said I could bring my own lunch. Now, that in itself is kind of unusual for theater.
36:08 Yes. You can bring your own lunch. Everything. This program is about really about affordability.
36:14 And also for those who just don't want to sit and watch a theater, you know, for two hours a show.
36:21 You can come down and see one for forty five, fifty minutes.
36:24 Who are the performers, by the way, in these productions?
36:26 Yes. Well, our autobiographical monologue is featuring a wonderful Arizona hip hop artist, J.
36:33 Edson. He does it all.
36:36 So, yes, as you already know, Paris 2024, the games breaking is now an Olympic sport.
36:44 So House is going to be telling his story. I also have comedy.
36:48 Two Little Broads by the wonderful Judy Rawlings.
36:52 I also have some musicals by Scan and also T.A. Burroughs as well.
36:58 And a wonderful drama by new Carpa Theater Company called Wounded Childhoods.
37:04 It's a war story. So we got something for everyone.
37:07 Now, listen, Cecily. Yes.
37:09 For people who did not come to class prepared with a pen and pad to write down that schedule.
37:16 Can they get it somewhere? Yes.
37:18 They can go to her burger theater dot org, go to Lunchtime Theater and you'll see all the shows there.
37:26 Can you imagine for crying out loud? So Broadway, right?
37:29 Terrific. They have a matinee every once in a while. Lunchtime Theater with the her burger all the time.

37:53 All right. Managed Mom Rachel Harris earlier shared the first part of her trip.
37:57 Marina Del Rey, California. Now we're looking at the second part of this really cool trip that literally, as we were saying, it's what a five hour, five hour and a half drive.
38:07 Yeah, about six hours. Right.
38:09 And only ten minutes from L.A.X.
38:12 But yet it doesn't feel like you're close to the airport.
38:14 So it's super easy to get there from here.
38:17 So I say plan a trip to Marina Del Rey.
38:20 This is the time to play. And so did you go during the weekend or during the weekday?
38:23 I've been both because, you know, my kids live out there.
38:25 So I have been a time over the last four years.
38:27 Lucky me.
38:28 And we're looking right now.
38:30 This is yeah, this is Fisherman's Village built in 1967.
38:34 You see all the yachts there. That's where you can go parasailing.
38:37 That's where you can rent all types of water activity vehicles.
38:41 Plus, they have restaurants and shops and look at that lighthouse during the weekends.
38:47 They have live entertainment.
38:49 And in fact, I did some shopping there and brought you a souvenir, which I'll show you in a bit.
38:54 And also that's where I got my sweatshirt that I'm wearing.
38:57 But I do recommend Fisherman's Village.
39:00 Now let's go to the next thing, Brad, because there is a very cool beach in Marina Del Rey.
39:06 Was there when you lived there?
39:07 Do you know what it's called?
39:08 The beach?
39:09 Mother's Beach.
39:10 Oh, I didn't know what that was called. I just went to the beach.
39:13 You just went to the beach.
39:14 Well, what's nice about Marina Del Rey, it's close to the big beaches as well.
39:17 But this is a small man-made one.
39:19 There's my daughter.
39:20 You can rent paddle boards and kayaks.
39:23 And it's got a playground and picnic tables.
39:25 Very family friendly, hence the name Mother's Beach.
39:29 And there's not a tide, so families really like it.
39:31 But you know, Marina Del Rey is also close to Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach.
39:36 So you get the best of both worlds without having to battle the proper LA traffic.
39:41 Well, I think the reason I didn't go to Mother's Beach is because I had a beach right in front of me.
39:44 There you go.
39:45 So I didn't have to go. I didn't feel like going to some other beach.
39:46 I wouldn't have either.
39:47 Alright, let's talk about where to wine and dine.
39:51 Oh, that's the part you love.
39:52 Oh, I do.
39:53 Worth every calorie when I go to Marina Del Rey.
39:55 And this video is going to make you hungry.
39:57 This is my favorite restaurant called Brizo.
40:00 It also happens to be in my favorite hotel, which is pretty new.
40:03 And that's the Marina Del Rey Courtyard Marriott, also a residence.
40:07 And I know you've got to order one of those, Brad, if you go to the main lobster roll.
40:11 The pull-apart rolls.
40:13 That is brunch.
40:14 Cannot recommend Brizo enough.
40:16 Now check this out.
40:17 This is called Dear Jane's.
40:18 And I heard about this place from Jamie Lee Curtis on Instagram.
40:23 Yeah, great bar, as you can see.
40:26 Really cool decor inside.
40:28 Sort of a throwback to the '60s and '70s.
40:30 You've got to get the bread.
40:31 Check out the cute butter.
40:33 When Jamie Lee Curtis covered it on her Instagram, there is the salad.
40:38 She was showing the waiter making the table side salad, which is so delish.
40:44 It is the chopped shrimp Louie for two.
40:46 You've got to get it.
40:47 Shrimp scampi.
40:48 Get that as well.
40:50 Now I've got to warn you, it is pricey.
40:51 It is a special occasion place, but worth it.
40:53 Hi-Ho Burgers, right there on the marina.
40:56 Definitely is going to fit in your budget.
40:58 And the reason that place is so good is they use the 100% grass-fed Wagyu beef, which is supposed to be better.
41:05 Okay, also, this is a new find.
41:07 It's called Mom, Please.
41:09 It's Ukrainian food, so you've got the savory and the sweet dumplings.
41:12 But I also really like the coffee and the almond croissants.
41:16 And that is right there on the border of Marina Del Rey and Playa Vista.
41:20 Pretty new.
41:21 Locals love it.
41:23 I recommend trying that as well.
41:25 Oh, my gosh.
41:26 Pie.
41:27 There's a pie place in Marina Del Rey where you just get a slice of pie.
41:30 That is a relatively new place called Winston Pies.
41:33 And how about cake, Brad?
41:34 Suzie's Cakes, which we're going to dive into after we get through my last video.
41:38 So you've got to stay patient.
41:40 All right, where to stay in Marina Del Rey.
41:43 So we talked about the Courtyard Marriott, which was built just about two or three years ago.
41:47 So it's brand new, modern.
41:48 That is a suite.
41:50 I always say join the membership clubs.
41:52 I joined Bonvoy, which is the Marriott one.
41:55 And I stayed enough that if you get, you know, if they have a room available, you can get upgraded, which I did at no extra cost.
42:01 Look at that view from my balcony.
42:04 Wow.
42:05 Oh, my goodness.
42:06 I wake up in Marina Del Rey in a good mood.
42:08 And the thing about this area as well is it tends to be 10 degrees cooler than the rest of L.A.
42:14 This is also footage in the suite.
42:16 You get a living room and wait till you see the bedroom, which I'm going to show you in just a second as we pan over.
42:23 Because you push a button and the blinds all open up and you get this panoramic view of the marina.
42:30 We're walking in there now and you'll see that.

42:34 Like I said, just built a few years ago.
42:36 And that over there is the residence end connected by a common area.
42:40 Right there you can walk out the back and go walking down the marina.
