00:00 Welcome to London, where the sun is always shining
00:02 and the horses come right by.
00:04 You're so sweet.
00:07 Right.
00:10 [upbeat music]
00:13 Hi Vogue, I'm Elizabeth Debicki
00:18 and we are gonna hang out while I get ready
00:20 for the Crown Season Six finale event.
00:28 Every day in London it's nice and warm.
00:31 Around this time of year,
00:32 the sky is sort of the color of concrete.
00:35 So we are gonna go and get nice and cozy,
00:39 have a cup of tea.
00:41 Oh, that one doesn't open.
00:43 I have a teapot superstition,
00:49 so I have to turn it three times.
00:53 I don't know why.
00:54 I don't know what it's protecting me against,
00:57 but my mother does it, so I do it.
00:59 And it's actually quite awkward when I do it
01:02 during meetings, I kind of interrupt people and I...
01:06 So that's what I do.
01:07 Thank you very much.
01:14 Now I'm gonna do my jam and then my cream,
01:20 which is highly controversial.
01:22 I'm a really old fashioned strawberry jam kind of girl.
01:27 (strawberry crunching)
01:29 Here we go.
01:31 We once had scones on set
01:34 while we were shooting Season Six.
01:37 An actual crew war broke out
01:40 because half the people go jam and cream
01:43 and then half of them go cream and jam
01:45 and everybody was like...
01:46 It was highly controversial.
01:49 That looks pretty good to me.
01:52 It's been an incredible job.
01:55 I think I'm gonna be really quite sad tonight actually.
01:57 Very surreal to think it's coming to an end.
02:02 I've been playing Princess Diana for about two years,
02:06 which is the longest I've played a character before.
02:08 Playing her and doing my research,
02:10 the things that really stood out to me
02:12 that perhaps I just didn't know,
02:13 because I didn't really know very much,
02:15 was just this incredible capacity for love
02:18 in a way that is without agenda,
02:20 this ability to connect and see people
02:24 and people feeling so seen by her.
02:27 So there's this enormous love ethic
02:31 that she lived her life with.
02:32 There was a quote that I used to think about
02:35 when I was playing her
02:38 and it was something about sort of like,
02:40 it was talking about the media and the attention
02:43 and how the narrative can get so skewed,
02:45 but she just said something really simple,
02:47 like when I go to bed at night and I turn my light off,
02:50 I know that I did my best.
02:52 And I just think that purity of intention
02:54 and I just found that very inspiring.
02:58 I find her very inspiring constantly
03:02 and I think I always will.
03:03 And playing her has just been a huge gift
03:05 to my personal heart and a huge gift as an actor,
03:09 because it was such a big challenge,
03:12 but really joyful one.
03:14 (upbeat music)
03:19 (upbeat music)
03:21 - Betty Davis over here.
03:25 - Right.
03:26 - Weapon of choice, candy.
03:30 Pre-copper candy.
03:33 I never really eat a lot of sugar
03:35 except when I have to go on a red carpet.
03:37 I work with the fabulous Elizabeth Salzman.
03:40 We're super collaborative.
03:41 I work with Dior all the time.
03:44 I'm very lucky to work with them.
03:46 We pick what we feel like and what just appeals to us
03:50 and this dress feels like very classic.
03:52 Good for the freezing temperature out there.
03:55 Super elegant.
03:56 And then Dai Ruchi and Kelly do their magic
04:01 and I just sit here like canvas.
04:04 Chaos, good chaos, but chaos.
04:06 Ciao.
04:12 (upbeat music)
04:14 - Both go beat up.
04:18 Cool.
04:19 Okay, we are running a tiny bit late,
04:22 but we're super excited.
04:23 We'll see you there.
04:23 I'm so excited for everyone to see the show
04:36 and I'm so excited to see all the beautiful people
04:39 who make this show.
04:40 So I'm gonna go and give them a big hug in the cold
04:44 and thank you so much for hanging out with me today.
04:49 I'm gonna go and see my friends.
